Free Army Standardization Project (Finished) (MT)

Postby United Provinces of The Free » Sun Sep 25, 2016 12:13 pm

Greetings, Arms Manufacturers of the world.

Our Military is in search of a new rifle to standardize. Our Current rifle is listed below:

Vz. 78 Rifle
Image

The Vz. 78 was obtained in mass stock through a toppled dictator's stockpiles. They were adopted by the UPoTF Armed Forces in 1978 officially.
This rifle has been through several revisions since 1978 and has reached the end of it's service life, it is in dire need of replacement. Our country's own AccuTech Precision Holdings is not yet a large enough producer of small arms to handle the massive request we have sent forth.

http://accutech-precison.wikia.com/wiki/Vz._78_Rifle

Final trials are likely to begin around the 5th of October.
HERE ARE A LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEW RIFLE TO BE CONSIDERED

- The Rifle must be of 5.56mm NATO Calibre, weapons available with conversion kits will also be considered for evaluation.
- The Rifle must have a minimum of one underslung and one top rail.
- The Rifle must have an effective range of over 500m, the typical engagement distance in our country's rolling fields.
- The Rifle must be modular and configurable for different roles.
- There are no limits on the configuration, it could be bullpup, toploaded or otherwise.
- Cost must be reasonable
- The Rifle must be able to be ordered in batches of 40,000+ over five years.

Upon being awarded a contract, the rifle will be selected as the new standard issue rifle and compliment the existing limited stock of CBRa4s (http://accutech-precison.wikia.com/wiki ... Naval_Spec)
The rifle will also be given an internal designation of SSRa1.

The current budget for acquiring a full set of 45,000 rifles is $45,000,000 USD ($1,000 x 45,000 rifles)

Thank you for submitting any designs you may have that fit the bill,
-Free Army Procurement Division

Monday, 26th of Septembre, 2016.

Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,
the wish of the Free Army for a new standard rifle to replace the Vz. 78 reached the shores of Farpoint Island and of Gabha Blacksmiths Limited, the company I represent.
For your consideration, I wish to offer you the Carbine, Automatic, Model 2008 Mark II or CAM 2008-II for short, a 5.56mm NATO bullup rifle useable as an assault rifle, carbine and many other roles. All information needed can be found in the appendix below.
If wished, we can organize a demonstration with the help of the SDF-Army.

I eagerly await your reply.
With kind regards,
Fiona Banphrionsa of the Tribe of Cavan
Representing Gabha Blacksmiths Ltd.

Technical Data
Weight: 3.3 kg
Length:
    991 mm with stock extended,
    791 mm with stock folded
Barrel length: 500 mm
Width: 56 mm
Cartridge: 5.56×45mm
Action: Gas-operated, rotating bolt
Rate of fire: 750 rounds/min cyclic
Muzzle velocity: 962 m/s
Feed system: 30-round detachable box magazine
Sights:
    Iron sights, Picatinny rail for
    mounting aiming optics on receiver
The Carbine, Automatic, Model 2008 Mark II (CAM 2008-II, in the following called CAM 2008) is the newest weapon of the SDF, currently being introduced after a long phase of testing. Suitable and useable in basically every environment, the CAM 2008 is the ideal weapon for all carbine-related needs.

Design
The CAM 2008 is a short-stroke gas-operated automatic weapon with a rotating bolt, ensuring both light weight and safety while operating, as well as precision when firing. Said precision can be enhanced by sights to be mounted instead of the simple iron sights. As such, the CAM 2008 can be used in many different roles then just as an assault rifle. Being capable of being fired in full auto, semi automatic and in three round burst, all by the switch of a thumb on the selectors on either side of the pistol grip, certainly helps, too.
One of the most remarkable features is the polygonal rifling used on the barrel, which makes the barrel thicker and more resistant to the stress of firing a bullet, allows for more of the combustion gases to stay behind the bullet and propel it forward as it travels forward, making the bullet go faster, reduces the buildup of bullet remains inside the barrel and therefore easier to maintain, or it makes the barrel, in short, better.
The CAM 2008 has an underslung rail beneath the barrel for mounting additional equipment like underslung grenade launchers.

Materials used include, but are not limited to, a carbon-fibre reinforced polymer for the receiver group (coming in black, dark green or any camouflage pattern wished by the customer) and a barrel of cold forged stainless steel, as is much of the internal mechanisms.

Export
In 2015, Gabha Blacksmiths began to offer the CAM 2008 for export, offering 100 rifles as package deals for 470,000 NSD per package.

We would like to respectfully remind any company taking part in this competition that all prices must be converted to United States Dollars at the current exchange rates.
Please provide a response to this message that contains the exact cost of one rifle from each weapon system.

RE: Price disclosure

One final question from the Free Army Procurement Division office, we would ask that you kindly disclose to us the effective firing range of your rifle, and if possible confirm that these estimated schematics of the rifle meet the actual design of the rifle in question. If you wish, your team may update the submission with this schematic.
Here is a render we have prepared of a folding stock, bullpup configurable rifle. Can you confirm that this is the design of your weapon? If so, update your submission with the following image.

We hope for a swift response, and remember that the due date for updating your submission is the 1st of October, 2016.

Regards,
-Free Army Procurement Division.

Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,
the effective firing range of the CAM-2008-II in the hands of a trained and experiences soldiers in a combat situation is between 450 and 550 meters with lightweight day sights, one of the possible sights capable of being attached to the CAM-2008-II. That range can be extended to around 1,000 meters.
As for the schematics, I can confirm to you, that these are not the schematics of the CAM-2008-II.

With kind regards,

I would prefer it if it came with a picture, this information is probably going to be going on my country's IIWiki page when it gets made. I'd like to feature all of the designs considered so that I can make a comparison table or something. I'd be providing credit where it's due, of course. If that's ok with you.

I will think about something. Do you need schematics or does an action shot (someone carrying the whole thing around) suffice?

Anything should suffice, just as long as it is a visual representation, if I really need to I can crop the guy holding it.

Round: 5.56x45mm NATO
Barrel length: 508mm (20”)
Rifle twist: 1/7 inches
Overall length, stock extended: 1028mm (40.5”), stock folded: 825mm (32.5")
Weight gun empty: 3.3kg (7.3lbs), loaded with 30 round magazine: 3.8kg (8.4lb)
Magazine capacity: 30 rounds
Fire modes: semi and fully automatic.
Rate of fire: 550rpm
Effective range: 600m
Features: Adjustable folding stock, top and fore arm rails

The E7-5N is a light weight assault rifle that offers exceptional controllability and ruggedness. Based on Crookfur Arms’ established S7/E7 series of rifles the E7-5N is offered in 5.56mm NATO

In terms of operation the E7-5N uses a self-regulating short stroke gas system to drive a twin lugged rotating bolt. The hefty bolt carrier assembly rides on twin guide rods and has an extended travel over which it is gradually slowed by twin return springs. The extended travel and gradual deceleration of the bolt carrier assembly acts to greatly increase the controllability of the rifle in automatic fire by both reducing the rate of fire and preventing the sudden slamming of the bolt carrier assembly into the rear of the body, in essence creating a “constant recoil” effect where the operate feels a constant gentle push rather than a series of sharp shocks.

The Rifle is fully ambidextrous with controls on both sides and the ejection direction being controlled by an external plate that blocks one of the ejection ports. The plate can be switched over to the opposite side using only a round of ammunition as a tool. Whilst the gas system is self-regulating it can be easily switched off if desired using a large tactile knob at the front of the upper hard guard. As standard the E7-5N is supplied with a three position (safe, semi and full auto) fire selector. In semi-automatic mode the rifle fires from a closed bolt and in fully automatic the first round is fired from a closed bolt and any subsequent rounds in a burst fire from an open bolt. This preserves single shot accuracy whilst aiding controllability and reducing heating in fully automatic fire. The E7-5N is set up to use so called “STANAG” 5.56mm magazines and has a flared magazine well to make reloading easier. Standard furniture includes a quad rail fore grip (supplied with rail covers) and an adjustable folding stock.

The basic E7-5N can be quickly and easily converted into a variety of different configurations thanks to its quick change barrel and piston system, modular fore grip and butt stock. The fire control group is also modular allowing different firing modes to be accommodated and to allow the simple installation of precision match trigger systems if desired.

In terms of materials and construction the main receiver is machined from a solid billet of high grade aluminium with the fore grip, stock and other pieces of furniture being produced from fibre reinforced plastic. The internal mechanism is produced from steel parts that have received a low friction/high wear titanium nitride protective coating, this coating produces a natural “dry” lubrication effect greatly reducing wear and tear and increasing service life. The 20” medium profile barrel is produced from moly-chrome steel using flow forming. This cold working technique produces barrels of exceptionally high dimensional accuracy and superior mechanical and thermal properties. The barrel is fully free floating and features a threaded muzzle which as part of the standard package is used to attach a flash hider. The inside of barrel, as with the chamber, is chrome lined and its exterior has a protective coating of titanium aluminium nitride giving it an extremely tough finish that will resist scratches and marks even from specialist tools .

Here's our design: the XA-911
The cost should be $700 for each gun for a total of $45,500,000 for the 65,000 guns to be produced for your country.
Here's the design.

Hello Nilrahrarfan, we think that rifle has not met our requirements for a modern, automatic assault rifle. However we invite you to submit a second design for us to consider that meets these requirements of a rifle that fires 5.56 NATO.

But we also wish to discuss terms to purchase 100 of these rifles for ceremonial purposes. Thank you.

OK. You can have 100 of these, mainly as museum rifles to show international weapons.

Thank you to all that have submitted rifle designs for us to test, we have selected the five rifles in the list above to compete at AFB Justfield right outside of our capital city. Each rifle will be put through a series of tests, with three points going to the round winner, two to second place, and one to third and so on. Testing will be finalized on Sunday, October 2nd, the same day that the Vz. 78 is expected to go out of service.

Trials will consist of standard 500m accuracy tests, filling the rifles with dirt and mud to test reliability, firing 4,000 rounds of 5.56mm NATO through each rifle to see how many times they jam etc. You may read a full dossier of your particular rifle's performance on Sunday through AccuTech Precision's storefront page, who were kind enough to host this information for us.

Thank you, and may your rifles hold reliable through our competition.

To whom it may concern,

First, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Wallace Noringham, and I'm the CEO of Freeport Armory - the premier munitions manufacturer in the world. With factories in over 20 countries, over 25,000 employees, tens of billions of dollars in sales annually, and a conviction for excellence, we outmatch all of our competitors in every market we enter. It has come to our attention that your nation is attempting to find the right standard service rifle for your nation, and Freeport Armory would like to provide assistance in bringing the United Provinces' military to the forefront of battlefield capabilities.

Admittedly, Freeport does not currently manufacture any service rifles. However, we do manufacture excellent munitions that will outperform any that your nation currently uses or any that you will encounter on the battlefield. Freeport Armory's line of specialty 5.56x45mm rounds can be viewed here, in tandem with all of our other excellent products.

Our business has received the highest GETrax rating available, and is featured on their Exceptional Storefronts List. We are a company dedicated to excellence and we would very much love to provide your nation with the munitions it needs to defend itself to the best of its ability. We're looking forward to hearing back from you regarding an order or the construction of a munitions plant in the United Provinces itself. We have excellent hiring practices for veterans and exceptional pension and benefits plans.

Thank you for your time,

Enclosed message from Police Commissioner Gordan Ramses, from the Police Commissioner's Estate located in Dodsonville, Paradisiam.

The police force and it's armories, in which I command have a small surplus of certain weapons that I believe go above and beyond your nation's requirements for a standard military issue rifle. All these guns have been in use by special terrorism forces across the country and due to the disbanding and reorganization of such units I offer the sale of these weapons to you. They come woth various sights and scopes.

The Rustuchio-Pappuchio TAC56 commonly referred to as the (RiPTAC56) is a Paradisiam made rifle named after the city it's first factory was established followed by the name of it's designer. It has excellent marksman capabilities while still fulfilling the role of a field AR.

Thank you for submitting a design, however this entry is somewhat late, and we will have to modify dates for when testing starts and information is released. We also need to confirm that there are 45,000 rifles we require still in your inventory.

Hello all who have participated in our 5.56mm Challenge, we have finally finished testing, have retired the Vz. 78, and have also produced our plans for ordering rifles.

Firstly, all design's performances and dossiers can be reviewed by your companies and governments at this page (graciously hosted by AccuTech Precision) here: (link shortend for convenience)

http://bit.ly/2e3UwE6

Secondly, we would like to congratulate AFB Justfield for hosting our competition, and to all of you who have developed and submitted functional 5.56mm rifle designs.
We won't go into specifics on each rifle here, but be happy in knowing that all your design's performances have exceeded the Vz. 78.

Now, onto our plan for ordering rifles.
We have decided to utilise five designs submitted for this competition, they all possess attributes they excel at, and we have decided to work our order around these advantages.
We will achieve this by buying a suitable amount of rifles for each role we think they work best in.

The winner of the competition and the one chosen for standard issue and to be designated SSRa1 is the Crookfur Arms E7-5N.
We would like to order 45,000 rifles to be issued to all branches of the armed forces.

Next, we would like to order 150 AR Scorpion rifles to be issued to our newly formed Special Ops task force.

We would like to order 4,000 DMR variants of the Gabha Blacksmiths Model 2008 Mark II (chambered in 7.62 NATO) to comply with our military's new doctrine about squad formation.

We would like to order 1,000 Atok Aerospace Assualt-1 rifles for use with vehicles crews and police.

Finally, we would like to import all Rustuchio-Pappuchio TAC56 rifles without attachments to be issued to the Army Reserves.

Thank you, and we hope to hear back from every supplier as soon as possible. May we build a strong business relation with each supplier over these new contracts.

Gordan Ramses has given shipping rights of his force's TAC56's to the Falling Star Forge, Firearms Manufacturer and retailer, because this local company is currently contracted with the replacement of the TAC56 with a lighter more effecient carbine. A copy of the catalog from Starfall, Paradisiam showcasing products of The Falling Star Forge has been attached to this message.

A message from Gordan Ramses, Police Commisioner of Paradise-City

I have seen the results that the TAC56 put out and Im happy to see it go. A small fee of 300$ a gun will be expected and I thank you for cleaning out my armory. Hopefully it will be restocked with Falling Star arms and pristine foreign arms. I look forward to working close with your government in any future affairs that might surface.

Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,
it is with greatest pleasure, that I confirm the ordering of 4,000 CAM-2008s chambered for the 7.62 mm NATO. We are currently working on an appropriate rifle, the Mark III, so there should be little to no delay in the production.
With your permission, we would like to change the order accordingly, while the price would stay the same.
It was a pleasure to do business with you and we hope for a continuation.

With kind regards,
