So here is the Lithatrian host bid:

The concert hall to be used is the largest concert hall in Lithatrius, based in the capital city of Mikhaylovka. With a capacity of 35,000 people, the "Julian Volker Memorial Concert Hall" is 5 minutes from the Mikhaylovka International Airport, designed to take up to 255,000 people per day - at a current use of just 133,000 people per day, there'll be no problems getting everyone to and from the stadium. With a state of the art combination of monorail, railway, trams and buses, along with the greatest density of 5-star hotels in the region of Novus Licentia Terra, we can ensure that the audience's experience will be a pleasant one. The main proportion of the tickets shall be sold in packages, including flights, transfer to hotels, hotel accommodation, and tickets.

Within the Julian Volker Memorial Concert Hall is a unique stage:
Image

All of the squares and lines can flash into over 12,500 shades of 5 different colours, creating a unique stage colour combination. In addition, on the floor, each of the black squares can rise up from the floor, up to a height of 12 feet, along with rotating 360 degrees, creating a spinning rising platform. With ramps down from the stage into the crowd, this enables greater interaction between the acts and the audience, whilst the large security force will ensure that no audience members will be able to enter the stage if they are not supposed to be there!

Returning will also be the age-old postcard system!

Image

Within the "WV" letters will be the nation's flag in question, the red part where it says "Nation Name"... is the nation name and where it says in red "Chosen Tagline" will be a short tagline from each nation - they will be TGed before the competition starts.

If selected, Dobralvya will open the competition with the song from this year's WorldVision, Valentina. The competition will be hosted by Ivan Saskavich and Yulia Tafumavich, who have hosted both NLTVisions in Lithatrius and were the televised commentary for the 6 other NLTVisions hosted elsewhere.

This is Talne Stadium, the place where last year's contestant from here, Hannah Tall, had her first gig.
The capacity is 55,000, meaning that the whole host city can pile in and there will still be room for more. The airport is about an hour's drive from Athena Airport, and there is a train from Athena to Talne, with not a lot of settlements in between. Unfortunately, Talne has no airport, BUT it does have a port, so you can even take a boat. Plus, many 4-star hotels run along the big streets of Talne, so you can (likely) have a pleasant place to stay as well.
The water jets are used to be high distance to squirt the front half of the audience, or low distance to squirt the performers (!). Performers, however, can ask to have no jets if they have electronic equipment (as well as things like hearing aids), as well as using waterproof microphones (a genius idea of a Calamsk inventor). Attendees can just move to the back two-thirds and away from the splash zone. Also, 5 staircases go from the stage through the splash zone so that performers can interact more with the audience.

We will also have postcards again.
You can have postcard style 1:
Image
Or you can have style 2:

TG me your style, line in native language and tagline if I win the bid.
95% of people on NationStates won’t read this, but as we speak, Libyan people are being massacred, because they’re rebelling against an unfair government. The elderly, women, children, everyone in Libya is in danger tonight. It’s genocide. Repost this in your sig to raise awareness and support the revolution!

NEW ENTROPIA HOST BID

Postby New Entropia » Sat Aug 14, 2010 12:17 pm

Image

Flojeterska Metropolitan Regional Assembly, in conjunction with VisitNE, EntropiAir, Viker Industrial holdings KrC, North Central Universal Health Service Medical Trust and the Flojeterska Board of Tourism, Present the official New Entropian Host Bid for the 16th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest, representing the city of Flojeterska.

Image

Flojeterska is New Entropia's third largest city, after the capital Florintine and second City Nova Keltia. The city is a green, open and pleasant city on the coastline of Lake Entropia, New Entropia's only access to open water. The city is reknowned for its warm, though not overbearing, summers and mild winters, and the large scale pedestrianisation of the city centre that make it one of the most pleasant cities for visitors in New Entropia. The city is also the most open in New Entropia, with 7 parks within 20 minutes walk of the city's financial centre. There are plenty of hotels to choose from, ranging from Marshall Ira Golding's megaproject Hotel Entropia, with more than 10,000 rooms, to more cosy accomodation. All budgets and visitors will be catered for, so whether you are looking for five star luxury or quality on a budget, Flojeterska will not disappoint.

Visitors will arrive at the Flojeterska International Airport, the third largest airport in the country, and will then be able to take a 30 minute train ride directly into the city centre. They will be able to use the Flojeterska Metro and the city bus service for just NF10 (around $6.75) for a week's ticket for unlimited rides on both services.

Image

Flojeterska's nightlife is one of its main attractions. With hundreds of small bars spilling out onto the open and bustling streets, and hundreds more night clubs, all tastes will be catered for. Visitors will also remember their stay for more than just the contest. Flojeterska houses multiple museums, from the Football and Sport Museum, to the Natural and Botannical Institute. Visitors can also enjoy the delightful tones of the Flojeterska Symphony Orchestra, catch a performance from the National Opera, take in a play or musical or watch the latest blockbusters at the many cinemas, including the flagship cinema of the NEON cinema chain.

Image

The 120,000 seat Forex Arena was built as part of a massive regeneration project of a formerly dereilict industrial area South of the City Centre. Home of the Flojeterska soccer team, the stadium is one of the largest in New Entropia and will play host to the contest if New Entropia is awarded it. The stadium is linked in to the Flojeterska Metro system, and the City Bus Service, ensuring easy access on contest day.

Image

The stage will be illuminated by multi directional lights and will back onto large LCD Panels that will be used during the performances for hsowing images or any other colour pattern they specify. Above the stage is a bank of larger LCD monitors that will also be available during the performances. During the voting phase they, along with a large LCD panel at the back of the stadium, will be used for showing the scores and the voting result from each country.

Image

The show will be hosted by Kira Lundgren and Scarlett Parkin, and the introduction performance will draw on the finer aspects of New Entropian culture and will feature a performance from Connie Byler, who came 12th in WorldVision 14.

Image

Postcards will also be featured in the contest. Each nation can either use its flag or a scene from the country as a background. It can also specify a short message in the national language and a message from its entrants in English. (OOC: Full sized postcards will be 600px wide by 350px high, or there abouts so images would preferably need to be of around that size or slightly bigger. Each competing nation would TG me the info, and then the magic would happen.)

OOC:Also why are people bidding for the right to host it? Isn't it tradition for the winner of the previous one to host it.

The winners of the previous one are always welcome to submit a host bid. As such, there have been 3 instances of the contest being hosted by the previous winner. Hardly a tradition.

Also, you've got be kidding us, Kalasion.

As part of increasing our nation's international reputation, also, to serve our citizen's passion for this show, the Gouvernement fédéral de Cérona (Federal Government of Cirona), along with Conseil du Tourisme céronoise (Cironi Council of Tourism), Counseil du Le Milieu-Sovoux métropolitain (Le Mileu-Sovoux Metropolitan Council), L'Entreprise de Aviation Royale Céronoise (Cironair) and CéroNet 8 Télévision Ltd. has decided to put forward a host bid for WorldVision Song Contest 16 (WSC16) in Sovoux, Cirona.

Image

Before we start our journey into Sovoux, we must know how to get there!

Sovoux is currently served by Cirona's largest international gateway, Le Milieu-Sovoux Airport (LSA), on Colion Island (same island as Sovoux). LSA is large airport that handles 258 000 000 passengers per annum, as it serves Cirona's two largest cities. The airport is served by most major carriers, as well as Cironair, Cirona's national carrier. Arrival and departure procedures are a breeze in the airport, so you do not have to worry about things you do in other airports.

When exited the airside of the airport, you have many choices of transportation to Sovoux. You can take the red limousines, red taxis, red vans, red buses, red-anything, as long as you don't take the white versions, as those go to the capital city, Le Milieu. However, our recommendation is to take the Express de Aéroport rouge, which takes you directly the city's central station, Sovoux Central, for a cheap price of USD$17.70 (CXT t10.00) within 20 minutes. On road, it takes about 60 minutes to get to Sovoux.

Image

Sovoux (pronounced so-voo), a bustling Cironi port, is Cirona's second largest city and belongs to the same metropolitan as Cirona's largest city, Le Milieu, the capital.

Blessed with beaches and mild temperatures, Sovoux has grown to be Cirona's most popular tourist destination, with 15 million tourists streaming into this metropolis in the past 12 months. With such huge numbers of foreign visitors, it is obvious that Sovoux is equipped for even more tourists. There is a diverse variety of hotels, ranging from small backpackers' quarters to 5-star luxury hotel rooms. If you're feeling a bit independent, a vacation condo in Sovoux is not all that expensive for a week's package. If you're feeling adventurous, a home-stay in a local's house might just be your cup of tea.

Image

Travelling in Sovoux is easy-peasy, as the whole city is connected by two main train systems: Monorail sovouxien (monorail) and Métro sovouxien (subway). There is also the Bus pansouvoux (bus), however, it is not recommended due to frequent traffic jams, and nearly everything is within a walking range in Sovoux.

The Monorail sovouxien is the preferred network to connect within the city proper. There are 4 different lines zipping across the city, with a total of 37 stations. Monorail sovouxien is useful for going from a side to the other of the city, however, short trips are not recommended as we would like to emphasise that nearly everything is within a walking range in Sovoux. For the week before and after the contest, tourists are given a 2-week Monorail sovouxien voucher that allows them to travel around the city for free. To be eligible for this voucher, a valid ticket to WSC16 is required.

The Métro sovouxien is mainly used to connect the city proper with the suburbs, as well as to connect the suburbs. There are 21 lines, with a total of 167 subway stations. The same offer is given to tourists as it is with Monorail sovouxien, however, instead of all free rides, only 8 free rides are allowed, regardless of distance.

Image

If anything, Sovoux definitely is a shopper's haven, with nearly 20 mega malls, and a whole lot of strip shopping. From famous brands like Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Ralph Lauren, and more, to souvenirs like handcrafted dolls, replicas of townhouses, and a huge variety.

Food also plays a major role of the Sovouxien culture, and there are millions of restaurants, ranging from high-class ethnic Cironi restaurants to fast food chains like McDonalds. Mamak stalls, small Indian cafés, are everywhere in Sovoux, as well as higher-class cafés.

Parks and beaches are aplenty in Sovoux, and they are there to provide the joys of nature. To the west of the island, there is also a relatively small deciduous forest, which looks beautiful, especially in Autumn, the season during WSC16 in Cirona.

Cironi culture and history can be studied at our museums and la Bibliothèque sovouxienne, the second largest library in Cirona. Cinemas are aplenty in Sovoux, and so are theatres, where you might catch a play or two.

Sovoux is notorious for its nightlife, and night clubs are on every corner of the city's streets. Open normally from 6pm all the way overnight to 6am, these night clubs are popular among the youths. You never know, you might find your Mr/Mrs Right here!

Image

Stade de la Revière sud is a sports stadium with a seating capacity of 100 000, and is part of Complexe de la Revière sud, Cirona's sports complex. Situated at Revière sud, a higher-class suburb, the stadium is connected to Métro sovouxien on the Ligne Sud 3, or South Line 3.

This massive building will host WSC16 if Sovoux is chosen to host WSC16. Built in 2002, this stadium is full of state-of-the-art facilities, as well as many safety features. On the underground level of the stadium, there are restaurants, toilets, shops, etc, placed there for the audience's convenience.

On the night, a massive stage will be erected, with a huge LCD television installed on the back of the stage. A further 4 large LCD televisions will be installed on top of the large LCD TV, and all of the 5 LCD televisions can be used by the participating nations for their songs. The stage can fit a maximum of 10 people on it, excluding the band. Participating nations may bring their own bands, but it is not recommended as it would take a long time to switch around, therefore delaying everything.

Image

The traditional postcard souvenir will be continued if Cironi wins the rights to host WSC16. This post card will contain the following:

Official language's Name
English Name
A message in the official language
Message translated into English
A picture of the participating nation (Larger than 500px wide by 300px, preferably)

If the participating nation's official language is English, their message and country will be translated into French by us, unless if they specify not to. The postcards will be printed out with high-quality ink on expensive card paper, and it is ensured that there will be enough for every audience member.

This concludes the host bid for Sovoux. Thank you for readint through the host bid, and we hope that you consider to vote for us.

Merci,
Gouvernement fédéral de Cérona, along with Conseil du Tourisme céronoise, Counseil du Le Milieu-Sovoux métropolitain, L'Entreprise de Aviation Royale Céronoise and CéroNet 8 Télévision Ltd.

OOC: Our host bid is coincidentally similar to New Entropia's, however, we definitely did not copy New Entropia, as we have followed the template of our previous host bid for WSC 15.

I thought the postcards were just something to show to tv audience while the next country's act are preparing to go on te stage - you'd be the first to hand them out as souvenirs.

What's happened to Lith's hostbid? It shows up as one of his posts when doing a search, but not in this thread.

Yeap, I'm that special. :D
(I never knew that it was shown on TV!)

Lith couldn't have possibly deleted it because he doesn't have mod powers, right?
