Yeah its good, but could it be an antiquity instead, that was used by Witches, real and fake, and eventually gained the power and potential it now has, but it was a gradual process.

I was also thinking of making another artefact, but I forgot which one I thought of...
I was tal;king more of baning the insanity not the artifact in its entirety, and it would only be until the artifact is changed, i didnt mean it to sound how it sounded.

I can edit it for you, it's just that insanity is theeasiest trade-off to use for such a powerful object. You'll have to remind me too later, though. I can't do it right now.

Artifact Name: Gáe Bulg
Type: Antiquity
Mass produced?: No
Effect: One blow, a weapon built to be fatal with a single deft blow, and leaves permanent wounds.
Artifact history: Built millennia ago, the exact place and materials are lost to time. During the battle of The Lake, fought at lake Victoria, both it's wielder, Brian Johgs High King, and the blade were destroyed. Thus, to this day the terrifying blade lies in three pieces. Among the magical community at least one piece is known to be held by the mysterious and shadowy Johgs family (whom claim lineage directly from Lugh himself) while another is rumored to be held by them. The third and final piece is lost to the world, only known as a fragment of the blade which has had a short hilt attached to form a deadly blade. It's effect is less than that of it's true one though remains potent. The Johgs are known to be willing to pay massive sums of money in exchange for valid information or the pieces themselves.
Country/Mythology of origin: Ireland
Enhance-able: It is rumored that the hilt attached to the missing piece is enchanted with spells of stealth. If a competent stealth magic user were to find it they could likely increase their skills moderately; ironic given that the blade cries out for blood.
Clues:The weapon is known to be able to have it's cries subdued by being submerged in fresh crushed poppies. Though the modern era means that it could likely be anywhere.WB Artifact App:
Artifact Name:Sguaba Tuinne
Appearance:
Type: Magic Tool
Mass produced?: Yes
Effect: An expensive, and well crafted, series of water craft built by a group of well paid magical craftsmen employed by the, eternally, mysterious Johgs family. While many boats are custom made now the name "Sguaba Tuinne" is a generic term used for a self sailing magical boat. It has, thanks to it's magic, a built in navigaitional system which allows it to self plot a course. However, other features such as shrinking down to pocket size, wood type and styles, among other decorative features, are sold as premium addons. If you thought buying a car was difficult, then you haven't bought a Sguaba Tuinne.
Country/Mythology of origin: Originally Ireland, now produced in Southern Africa

Not completely sure what you mean, but I'll let other people play members of the Messer family if they want.

Will the mandates be something like chairman, secretary, etc but with fancier titles, or were you thinking something else?
Pillowlandia: I'm not the OP but I think only real nations are allowed when it comes to origin.

The Mandates would be the laws that all magical beings and magic humans would have to follow.
Yes Pillow only Real nations, and you must list what being your Family holds the Bloodline off.

Thinking of mandates... how secret must magic be kept from ordinary humans?

1. No magic in public unless as a last resort, or if it can be passed off as an illusion or sleight of hand.
2. If your true form is not closely human, you must never reveal your true form in public, some exceptions are allowed though the context is determined by the Council.
3. You may only tell one Human what you are, with conditions:
3.a if and only if you were onc human.
3.b Or if you are mated to a human and the told is a relative of your mate.
3.c if the human reveals the Secret, You the human and any Told, will be executed.
So this is what i have so far, i used something given to me by Harbertia as a guide.

Why don't you just outright ban telling normal humans the magical abilities. Unless, for instance, the two people have mated or something.
