Last thing I've played on EU4 was Milan and France. Didn got around yet for HRE stuff.
However you can't deny that the Holy Roman Empire and the Imperial Insignia in Vienna have unlike the EU some cred.Engleberg wrote:

Actually the official name of the Holy Roman Empire was:
Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation
The German Empire of 1871 was a Nation State (excluding already Austria, the other german state) not the Universal State that the HRE used to be.

Hey, no need to be salty over the outcome of the 1519 Imperial Elections. It's really long ago.Charles and Francis tried to outdo each other in voluminous bribes; Charles in the end had deeper pockets.
However on a second look, a few things remained the same.
Germany still got deeper Pockets.

Something in that direction, with some anti-Pope stuff hidden in since he claims to be a new Ecumenical Patriarch.

We already have one united states, we don't need another. And with the Eurozone centralized bank, Euro currency, free movement, and talk of a European army, it really honest to god does seem like the European governments are moving towards one Europe, and up until this week, have been showing no signs of slowing down.
Here's to preserving culture, NSG.

The hell is "culture" in the context of a peninsula?

Olerand wrote:Europe being the "peninsula"? While I don't see how the EU is a threat to European culture -globalization, or more accurately Americanization certainly is, this peninsula has plenty of unique and distinct culture(s).

Erm, Milan was part of the HRE (which was born exactly because the Pope rewarded the Franks for invading Lombardy and as a way to tell the Roman Empire aka Byzantines to sod off). Also its proper capital would be Aquisgrana, not Vindobona.
