Ukranas wrote:The doors swung open and conversation was momentarily hushed as the Grand Župan Dragan Lukić III strode inside the room, walking as though he had a broomstick taped to his back (which he did, sometimes.) Following him was Rodoljub Vulović, the Premier of Ukranas. Rodoljub was an unimpressive man and he knew it, not that he cared. He was firmly of the belief that a state official is there to run the country, not to be popular. Although he didn't like to talk about it, he used to be a singer before going into politics. Dragan, by comparison, was a bear of a man who could rival Frederik in sheer size and strength. Unlike Frederik though, he was a cruel man with a heart of stone. Today they were both wearing standard olive military uniforms in anticipation of the inevitable war that would come from these always destined-to-fail meetings. They took their seats next to Richard Monroe and the Pharaoh.

"Just so you know, I'm rooting for you." He winked at the delegates and then leaned back in his chair.

Dragan, pleased, smiled back, speaking in a hushed voice so nobody else would hear. "Xвала - It is good to know that not everyone in this pointless meeting is an utter fool. I am pleased to make your acquaintance. May I suggest that we look further into matters of state after this meeting? Unfortunately, for now we must focus on other matters."

As they made their way towards the big hall, the owners of the pairs of shoes were discussing the situation that was the topic of this summit vigorously.
"Ethnic tensions are flaring up" "This is a grave matter" "Who should we support?" "Should we even pick a side?" "Good point..."
They were Leonardo Caprice Chancellor of Roelandia and Marko Pitrece, Minister of foreign affairs and member of the Particio Democratico, Roelandia's delegates for this UN summit.
As they entered the hall they saw that the Sjealandians had already arrived.
"Look, Marko, the early birds are here first again" Marko smiled at that comment before he approached to greet them.

"Premierska Petit, aht est tyrn prim zeit tovaj, njet? Est'ie aht karsensja?"
"Premier Petit, it is your first time here, no? Isn't it beautiful?"
The Premier turned to face to man.
"Aht est, Prima-Soweshachelvk. Y zherdzo bolshoj! Da metz mozhej vehrojtnej setz stonyy; aht'st wak duzej wak nash swoje sowesha zdanije."
"It is, Congress Chairman. And very large! The place could probably seat hundreds; It's as big as our own congress building."
The older man was the first to greet the Sjealandians and Roelandians.
"Priewatnej, parzhet predstejtavielyy. Wyr predsta da Soschalisty Federats Respublika Petrokovie"
The Premier translated for the older man soon after.
"Salutations, fellow representatives. We represent the Socialist Federal Republic of Petrokovia." he said, in the accent native to those from Northern Crotarossiya.
Petit stood for a moment, before feeling the need to clarify.
"My name is Daniel Petit. I am the newly elected Premier of Petrokovia. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the recent dinner gathering; I was still setting up my office. I hope to get to know you well."
He gestured to the older man, and then to Nonna.
"This is the current Chairman of the Soviet Congress, Adam Davidovic-You may recognize him, as he's been Chairman for some time. And this is my aide, Nonna Yakovna."

"Hello, everyone." Monroe said, setting his pina colada on the table. "My name is Richard Monroe and my friend here is René Lewis. We are both the Exaequation diplomats for the UN. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know all of you in the future."

Perimo reached for her water, but then paused and casually pushed it aside. You could never tell if the UN was giving poisoned, after all.

Wagner smiled and greeted the Roelandians. ''Wonderful of you to be here. Let's hope this can be solved quickly before anymore bloodshed occurs. my government has expressed desire for this conflict to be ended before it spills over southwards.''

Dragan looked approvingly at Pharaoh, ignoring the representative who had so rudely insulted his majesty.
"Well said. Gentlemen, I believe I am fair, or at the very least correct in saying that the idea of bending to the preposterous demands made by the money-grubbing Faustinians would be a grave injustice beyond measure! They seek to undermine our national security, they seek to disrupt our unity and weaken our country! But worse, it does not end there! For this is not merely senseless destruction, but rather an early indicator of a malicious plot that will ultimately lead to Ukranas being dragged to the very brink of total destruction, leaving its unsullied lands defenceless and ripe for the taking! The corrupt Faustinian regime has no equal for malignancy, that is a fact that is plain for all to see! For the sake of Ukranas - and by extension, stability in the Northern wildlands, I implore you to stop these warmongering criminals!"
Having expended considerably energy in a not particularly concise rant, Dragan sat back down, awaiting a response.

"I didn't hear any news of such a transaction being planned; It was only after it was done that any news appeared. Generally, wouldn't one want to make information known about such a deal before the land swapped hands, so that people may move in or out? Or do you just have a bunch of Ukranasian nationals stuck in your newly-acquired land?" Petit asked.

Dragan banged his fist on the table and stood, yelling.
"We have no choice! We accept out of the fear of what you would do should we refuse, and you know this always! You know that we are no match for you, and you exploit this to your full advantage, Faustinian!"
