Had a limited edition apple wine too, because there was only one tree, which I have since lost to a tornado, along with a pecan tree, and pear tree.
The Corps taught me how to make raisin jack, so when I retired to the country, I applied the same technique to other fruits. Starting making apple, pear, and apple-pear shines, then researched and refined a technique for wine.
The soil here is not good for grapes, but my property is covered in wild blackberry.

Great for vitamin c. Two cups worth is a whole days worth of recommended allowance.
I do not know if you have the same problem with June beetles as I do, it can be a struggle some years to get much fruit before they eat it all.
Crows and my trees are another issue. When their population gets too high, they will strip your fruit and nut trees bare.
