Tekeristan changes its national flag

Image

The Republic of Tekeristan has changed its flag from the old hammer sickle to the golden otter.

The change, brought about last year in Tekeristani Parliament, has been finalized and approved across the nation and today marks the first official day under the new official flag. The old flag, which featured the hammer and sickle, was established during the Soviet regime in the Republic before the Romanian Revolution and has long been a signal of Communist influence in Tekeristan.

However, after action by the Social Democratic party in parliament, the flag has seen a new makeover featuring one of Tekeristans favorite animals: the Eurasian river otter!

Safer Borders Comming Soon
Grozny, Chechnya:
After the incident of the Fourth of this month, as well as border incidents involving Russian Troops, a new policy on the border security has been adopted. Henceforth, it has been decided to fence in the borders of Prosorusiya, in order to provide minimal security. This is a massive change Southern border with Korva, which was previously completely open and undefended. A spokeswoman for President Jakob Luganov explained the this action was not meant to target the Korvan people, but simply an action to deter ISIS infiltration of Prosorusiya. The new fence will be a simple chain link affair, topped with barbed wire, and clearly marked border crossings will be provided and manned by law enforcement officers. Aside from a simple passport check at these crossings, no other measures to restrict freedom of movement will be taken. A similar policy is being put in place along Prosorusiya's border with Russia. While such a move is clearly designed to discourage Russian troops from engaging in incursions, which recently became more common, it also represents a concession on the part of Prosorusiya as the government's plan calls for reducing the number of men stationed along the border and removing dangerous minefields laid in 2015 in Dagestan, moves which the Russian Embassy in Grozny have long been calling for.

Air Lift, Drop over KurdistanErbil, Kurdistan- The Black, Green, and Red tricolor is glistening today on the tail of an An-12, quietly unloading on the tarmac of Erbil International Airport. This aircraft is from the 4th Transport Squadron, a component of the larger humanitarian intervention of Proosrusiya in Kurdistan, after an absence of more than a year. Currently, only the Air Force carries out this mission, as ISIS and Iran currently control the roads that would allow the Army to assist in transporting supplies. So things must be done the hard way: by airlift and air drop. The 4th Transport Squadron's mission here is to bring desperately needed medical supplies into Erbil, for distribution to military and civil doctors alike. Meanwhile, to the west, An-12s of the 10th Transport Squadron have carried out a daring air drop of some 66 tons of rice to refugees fleeing ISIS along the front line. Despite brisk ground fire from enemy forces, all three aircraft successfully dropped their loads, and returned to base unscathed. The Ministry of Defense has stated that, from now on, the humanitarian efforts of Prosorusiya will focus on education and health care, offering free enrollment in the National Petroleum Industry Technical Institute to all citizens of Kurdistan, and continuing to provide medical aid and medical evacuation through the 4th Transport Squadron based out of Nalchik Airport. Tapa Oil Company has also announced that it now owns several oil fields in Kurdistan, and is sending industry experts to oversee their operation. It is predicted that this will lead to a upsurge in business travel to Erbil and greater profits for the Grozny Avia airlines which flies to Erbil.

Left Coalition Formed in Parliament

Grozny, Chechnya- Some analyists though they would never see the day. Yet, in the wake of the emergency elections to replace purged Brotherhood Party members, the Revolutionary Party has surged in popularity as voters call for better public education and an end to religious violence. Seizing the opportunity, the two leftist parties have formed an alliance and seek to collectively establish a social democratic government which favors a mixed market economy. Party Leaders Elcin Rasheed and Agata Livovich hailed the new coalition as a “new day for politics in Prosorusiya and a major victory for the political left fro the first time since 1991.”.

Communist rebels seize control of Buja!

Image
People's Revolutionary Army of Buja

Communist Rebels under Pablo Rosero, in a systematic attack, captured the capital city of Port Prince and took control of the island nation of Buja. The nation's previous leader, Alfredo Menéndez the 3rd , fled the nation with his family and advisers 2 days ago as the communist rebellion grew and the nation was paralyzed after rebels seized control of railroads and highways.

The nation's newly established Communist leader, Pablo Rosero, has promised economic reform in the following weeks, as well as democratic elections in 2 years. Today, Rosero gave a speech to his supports and followers from the balcony of the recently captured Royal Palace in the outskirts of Port Prince.

"My people, my lovely Buja! The will of the people has spoken! Today marks the day of our freedom, the day the people's voices are heard! The cowardly Prince Alfredo and his puppet masters has fled Buja and her people, fleeing from their crimes! Now it is our time, the Bujan people's time! Forever one, Forever Buja!"

Airship lands in Grozny
Some might say it is a return to the golden age of airships, when such titanic vessels as the "Graf Zeppelin" roamed the skies. Whatever one might think of it, the sight of the massive airship touching down for the first time at Grozny Airport can only be called one thing: majestic. The airship, a freighter called the PAL-03 "Sky Rider", is a Skycat 20 hybrid airship operated by the Premium Airship Lines, will operate a regular service to Kurdistan. The airship has slightly more cargo capacity than a C-130, but is more fuel efficient, and is more difficult to shoot down. This, combined with it's ability to operate to places not equipped with runways will make it a valuable tool in the establishment of Kurdish-Proosrusiyan airlift operations, says the company. This flight marks the first lighter than air flight to Grozny on record, and the first airship to operate in Prosorusiya. The airship will be based out of Grozny Airport, and fly to Erbil Airport in Kurdistan on a regular basis.

UN in Maltakya, Troops in Kurdistan

The Government announced the relief of the 8th Brigade Mountain Infantry from it's peacekeeping role along the Korvan-Maltakyan Border, rotating it out for the 136th Brigade Mechanized Infantry from Dagestan. The 8th had been serving on the border since December of 2015, and the Ministry of Defense said they were overdue for a rotation. Advanced units of the 136th led their base just south of Machakala today by train, heading south along the North Caucasus Railway to the state of Azerbaijan in Korva, to there deployment area in Maltakya. These units act as peaceful police troops under the auspice of the United Nation, in an effort to curb sectarian violence in the area. The Ministry of Defense has also declared that, with the blessing of the Parliament, it will send Military Advisors to Kurdistan, also drawn from the 136th, and that these advisors will be flown in on Tu-134 medium transports belonging to the 10th Transport Squadron. This marks the first joint Air Force and Army mission since the fall of Proskoya, as well as an shift to a more direct role in Kurdistan. Government sources claim the the deployment will help train the Peshmerga to better defend their territory fro ISIS, making aid work in Kurdistan safer.

Tekeristan to lower Corporate Tax
Image

In an effort to attract and grow domestic and foreign business inside Tekeristan, the Tekeristani Parliament are currently undergoing debates on whether or not to lower the Corporate Tax rate from 32% to 25% over the course of the next four years. The bill currently has the Social Democratic party fractured in debate, receiving criticisms by the farther left for any potential budget shortfalls it could create while the more center and right parties have stated that the tax-cuts will improve the economy by attracting and growing more business.

As expected, businesses inside Tekeristan are in support of the bill, calling it a 'necessary act' to continue to grow the economy of Tekeristan in the world's modern global marketplace. Over the past few years, public support for increased privatization of non-essential industries has been growing. There has been increasing support for the Free Trade party, but it has yet to topple the Social Democratic's party throne nor is expected to in the upcoming years.

What does this potential route mean for Tekeristan? Lowered taxes on corporations and businesses could potentially lead to further economic growth and development inside the country, which in turn would lead to increased employment and wealth for the nation, in which will take weight off of the nation's famous welfare system. Yet there are concerns by the economic left of potentially greater wealth divides. The truth is, however, that this act will bring more oppertunity to Tekeristan than it will expand the already low divides in wealth and will likely lead to a bigger middle class.

136th Brigade gets new Mission: Defend Kurdistan

The Ministry of Defense has declared that it will deploy the 136th Mech Infantry Brigade to Kurdistan, allowing all units previously deployed in operations with Malatakya. This, the ministry says, will provide much needed capabilities to the fight with ISIS. It is hoped the Brigade will be able to not only support but also fight alongside the Peshmerga against ISIS, but also.

The deployment marks the first joint military action of Prosorusiya and Maltakya, after those countries respective Ministries of Defense signed a deal to allow special movements of military equipment through Mlatakya for the purpose of fighting the IS. The 136th has moved to Tabriz, in Northern Maltakya, where a free feast for the poor was held by the brigade as a sign of good will. The historical cultural connections of the 136th's Dagestanis to the Maltakyan people will hopefully help to build a good community relationship with Mlatakya, an Army spokesman sated, adding that ever since the Talysh War's climactic battle in the city, Prosorusiya has had a responsibility to defend the people of Tabriz and the stability of the region.

News Flash!

8th Bridgade joins the 136th in War in Kurdistan!

The Defense Ministry informed the press at 08:00 hrs that it had ordered the 8th Motorized Rifles to deploy to Kurdistan, and join the 136th at FOB Kirkuk. It is speculated it will be involved in operations against Mosul, which analysts say is close to collapsing. Retaking Mosul would mark a major victory for the forces of the Kurdish people, the Peshmegra. Today, President Luganov restated his commitment to protecting the people of Kurdistan, and pledged them that active military operations will be undertaken soon. He also stated that the level of aid being sent to the front in Kurdistan would have been impossible just a month ago, but now with the cooperation of Maltakyan government to all the pre-positioning of forces against ISIS through the use of their transport infrastructure. He also awarded the workers of the North Caucasus Railway the Order of the Red Banner for having rendered invaluable assistance moving army units through Dagestan. The Ministry also declared that warplanes from the Air Force will support the ground troops. So far, it is unknown what unit this would be, but An-12s from the 10th Transport Squadron have been observed landing in Erbil today, carrying loads hidden under tarps that some speculate may be weapons for aircraft, as any aircraft sent by Prosorusiya would have to be forward based in Kurdistan.

Transnistria-Separatists hold rallies in attempt to gain support

Tekeristan - Tensions rise in Tekeristan today as the controversial group called the Transnistria Liberation Front, or TLF, held a public rally in eastern Tekeristan, in an attempt to attract more public attention to their separatist movement.

The Transnistria Liberation Front is a group vouching for Transnistria sovereignty & independence. Transnistria is a small section of territory in the nation’s far east, bordering against Modrova, otherwise known as Ukraine. It is administrated as its own province.

The organization formed its roots during the Tekeristan Flower Revolution, which removed the Soviet-backed regime from power. Its popularity soared during the economic downturn that temporarily followed, however failed to gain much political ground due to fierce opposition by opposing parties vying for a “Unified Tekeristan”.

This tension snapped temporarily during the Transnistria Crisis when heavily armed members of a more radical arm of the Transnistria Liberation Front, called the Transnistria Militia, attacked a government office, taking several officials hostage. The incident led to a fierce stand off between the Transnistria Militia and the National Guard that led to several deaths before militia members surrendered after a 5 hour siege.

However, as of late, the group has been seeing a steady decline in general public support & membership due to strong controversy over Tekeristan's expansive social policies, such as national education, nationalized healthcare, and public transport. The Transnistrian Militia today is considered a terrorist organization by the Tekeristan government, however is rumored to be still be active despite efforts.

Marin Talaskivich, a lead spokesmen of the Transnistria Liberation Front, spoke to press in an interview before the rally.

“Transnistria can still be free and sovereign.” he said to press. “But in order to do such we need more public attention and support. We are capable of making our own decisions, whether it be relief Ferrum’s strict regulation that hampers our growth or their crushing taxes. We are entitled to live the way we see fit.” He is later expected to hold a speech in support for Transnistria independence in both Transnistria and Ferrum in the following days.

Marylin Chekrosie, a leading member of national parliament, released a statement to the public to dismiss public concerns about the rally.

“The rally shall go on,” the report listed. “Just like any other individual & organization in Tekeristan, they have the right to free speech. As long as they don’t actively call for violence, they have every right to hold the rallies.”

While a rally is already being held in the Transnistria province itself, another is expected to be held in Ferrum on Saturday near central park, from 12 to 5 PM. The Ferrum Police Administration has stated they will work to ensure everything goes smoothly and without conflict.

War Ends in Kurdistan

After months of hostilities Kurdistan, which faced siege from a tyrannical Iraqi government and terrorist forces of ISIS, peace has returned to the region. The deciding factor proved to be the recapture of Mosul from the forces of ISIS by allied forces which included the 8th and 136th Motor Rifle Regiments. Following this campaign, a UN no fly zone has assured that Kurdistan has been able to rebuild it's military strength without threat from the Iraqi central government or other forces. Due to miscommunications, border incidents have occurred with the Turkish Air Force, during which several F-4 Phantom jets were shot down. The Government today has announced that indemnity has been payed to the Turkey, in a peace deal which has secured their guarantee of the borders of Kurdistan. For this reason, today the last unit in country, elements of the 7th Squadron has returned to Prosorusiya. The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that some military and economic aide will still be offered to Kurdistan, but that no combat units were expected to deploy to the country in the near future.

Government Shakeup

In a reevaluation of several Government agencies recently, several important changes have been made.Firstly, a new cabinet Ministry has been created: The Foreign Ministry, which has taken the power to deal with foreign affairs from the President, and has taken the lead in international relations and security operations. Secondly, the Gendarame and Border Guard, due to the similarity of their missions, the duplications of capabilities between both forces, and the negative connotations of their names have been streamlined a combined into a new Military Police force known as the National Guard. As part of this change, the Coast Guard has also taken over coast defense missions from the Navy, which has been disbanded due to it's lack of operational effectiveness and excessive expense for limited utility.

Air Force: Testing of New Missiles Begins

The Air Force had announced that it has begun testing Magic-II air to air missiles for use with their MiG-23MLD fighter aircraft. According to an Defense Ministry spokesman, the move comes as a result of recent combat experiences in Kurdistan, where the deficiencies of current AA-2 Atoll missiles was realized, leading to the need to buy expensive R-23 missiles at the last minuet to restore combat effectiveness. Air Force Captain Nona Radomir and Major Alexi, our nation's top fighter aces, have taken charge of the testing, and report positive results.

Our reporters have received word that the Coast Guard siren has sounded in the small town of Henningsvær, located in the Lofoten Archipelago north of the Norwegian coast line. After a Coast Guard helicopter and the crew members aboard crashed killing all on board, the citizens pooled their money together to build an air raid siren to signify when Coast Guard helicopters were called into action. The siren would continue to sound until all Coast Guard service members returned to their home.

Our reporters that are in the town have heard over shortwave radios that the ship in trouble is an oil tanker that had been sheared in half. After many hours of trying to get a distress signal out, they finally were able to beach themselves on a shoal. It wasn't until wee hours in the morning that someone was able to hear the fog horn, or the whistle as the locals call it, was heard far off into the distance. There are some 40 surviving men and women on the tanker awaiting rescue from their sinking ship. We are unsure at this time how the crew of the oil tanker managed to get themselves onto the shoal, just that it probably took a lot of guts, ingenuity, and massive stones to accomplish it.

UPDATE

12:48pm

We have received word from our reporters that the Coast Guard Cutter has returned from the ship bearing the sailors that were aboard the Glasgow. We understand that the Glasgow was manned by a crew of Britannians and that the chief engineer was able to attach a secondary tiller from the engine room using a combination of chains, winches, and pulleys to steer the ship. The crew set up an information line from the top deck down to the engineering room to pass on directions. If only I was good at Chinese Whispers as these gents were I wouldn't have flunked out of first grade.

Though the Coast Guard is still looking for the front of the ship, all members of the crew who were in the rear arrived safely at port save for one who fell from the deck of the ship and into the water. His body has yet to be recovered thought they are still looking. After the Glasgow's crew is checked over by a medic at the Coast Guard Station, they will be transported to the closest airport to be flown home. Those who fail the check-up will be admitted into the hospital at Bergen until they are well enough to travel.

Sochi Tupolev Crash!:

The Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, and Transport have announced that they have deployed helicopters currently available to help search for bodies in the crash of a Russian Millitary Jet off of Sochi. The Ministry of Transport has stated "The loss of a Tu-154 aircraft so near to the introduction of the equipment in our air fleet for revenue service, and it's use as a Predisential jet in this country makes investigating this accident a top priority. We will lend whatever assistance is required by our counterparts in Russia."

The jet, carrying journalists, army band members, and a well known huminatrian crashed after refueling in Sochi. 90 people were aboard the flight, all of whom are presumed dead. Gorsky Avia has contributed two helicopters to the recovery effort, the Air Force three, and the Internal Affairs Ministry has sent an investigative team to Russia.

Experts believe the flight was the victim of either a fatal technical malfunction, or pilot error. Suspicions are the aircraft may have been improperly refueled at Sochi, creating a weight imbalance in the fuel tanks which, when the aircraft attempted to do a u turn in order to resume its course to Syria, created fatal instability that caused the pilots to loose control of the aircraft and crash into the sea.
