• November 3, 2012: [Terra Reborn] The Imperial Battlecruiser HMS Vindicator, alongside in Christchurch, New Zealand, is caught in the middle of a North Island attack on the South Island, and is badly damaged, but is instrumental in throwing back the North Island attack. The Vindicator puts to see and engages North Island naval forces in the Battle of the Cook Strait
• November 12, 2012: [Terra Reborn] As part of the Protectorate Agreement with the Republic of South India, the Imperial Navy dispatches a warship to help subdue Rebel elements in the South Indian territory of the Maldives, is attacked by two rebel Coast Guard vessels, who she sinks, before proceeding to spend the rest of the night lobbing star shells over the Capital. In New Zealand, after diplomacy fails, the Parachute Regiment is deployed to Wellington to secure the North Island Capital.
• November 25, 2012: [Terra Reborn] The Republic of South India formally becomes an Imperial Protectorate following a plebiscite, and the none-to-easy task of building up the Republic’s organic defences begins in earnest. On the same day the Imperial Forces in New Zealand fully secure the North Island, within weeks the on-off Imperial Colony would resume its place within the Empire.
• December 1, 2012: [Terra Reborn] The Coalition Government of David Warren is defeated when the Defence of the Realm Act, a bill proposed by the opposition, is passed overwhelmingly, and subsequently defeated by a surprise motion of no confidence, setting in motion an Emergency Election.
• December 31, 2012: [Terra Reborn] David Warren and his Coalition Government are soundly beaten by the Centrists and the Crown Loyalists, resulting in James Alexander being appointed Prime Minister. David Warren is later raised to the peerage as the Earl of Kodiak.
• March 1, 2013: [Terra Reborn] His Majesty’s Ship Cairns, under the command of none other than Prince Arthur himself, is attacked by a Western Australian Patrol Boat. The Cairns rebuffs the attack and captures the enemy vessel. Before any word can be got out the Western Australian forces launch a massive air campaign across Australia, starting with Darwin. The Imperial Air Force suffers significant casualties, but after a day of fierece fighting is able to regain control of Imperial air space. In Karin City, the King and National Security Council order a large naval force to assemble in the Maldives.
• March 4, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Ground Forces push enemy forces back to the pre-war border and begin to muster troops for a counter attack, under the command of General Cochrane, and begin to probe enemy lines over the following days, generally achieving local superiority even if the strategic balance was still uncertain, save for the IAF’s air cover.
• March 21, 2013: [Terra Reborn] The Joint Naval Task Force, under the command of Vice Admiral Sir Nicholas Harrington, engages the bulk of the Western Australia Navy at the Battle of the Cocos Island, one of the largest naval engagements in history, and scores a resounding victory.
• March 27, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Ground Forces secure and annex Cocos Island and Christmas Island, whilst the JNTF continues southwards and destroys all remaining enemy naval elements. The Task Force then commences bombardments to set the stage for an amphibious assault.
• March 29, 2013: [Terra Reborn] The 1st Commando Division, under the command of Major General Sir Thomas Munro, launches a major amphibious assault against the Western Australian Capital of Perth. Fierce fighting ensues over the next forty-eight hours, but the city is eventually secured.
• March 31, 2013: [Terra Reborn] The Imperial White Ensign is hoisted alongside the Imperial Flag in Perth, indicating formal Imperial control over the city. With the Capital fallen and the leaders captive, the rest of the Western Australian Republic surrenders to the Empire.
• April 4, 2013: [Terra Reborn] King Walker braves the dangers to visit Perth to announce a major initiative to peacefully bring Western Australia into the Empire, recognizing the fact that the bulk of the population had only followed their Government out of fear, and that many longed for the re-unification of Australia. Vice Admiral Harrington is created Earl Harrington.
  
• April 29, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Whilst it’s Captain is dining with the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, William Dubaku, the aging Imperial Frigate, HMS Earl of Anchorage, is attacked by irregular air and maritime forces during the opening stages of a Coup against Dubaku’s Government. Captain Thomas Weber saves President Dubaku’s life, and offers the full aid of his ship. As word reaches Gibraltar, a naval task force begins to muster.
• April 30, 2013: [Terra Reborn] King Walker endorses Captain Weber’s actions and offers the full support of the Empire to put down the Coup, whilst Earl of Anchorage continues to provide naval gunfire support.
• May 1, 2013: [Terra Reborn] HMS Reprisal, under the command of Rear Admiral Alice Stanford, arrives off the coast of Siera Leone, and assists Government Forces in pushing back the Rebels. Later on in the day the 183rd Infantry Brigade deployed to the country via an airport previously secured by the Imperial Marines.
• May 6, 2013: [Terra Reborn] With Rebel forces largely defeated across Sierra Leone, RADM Stanford hosts President Dubaku aboard the Reprisal, there passing on a message from King Walker, offering to make Sierra Leone a full part of the Empire. President Dubaku accepts this offer, subject to a plebiscite confirming it when possible.
• May 8, 2013: [Terra Reborn] King Walker welcomes President Dubaku to the Imperial Fortress, and creates him Duke of Sierra Leone, at which point Dubaku swears fealty to the King and the Empire. The Sierra Leone officially becomes the Duchy of Sierra Leone when a plebiscite in early June confirms the public’s consent.
• May 31, 2013: [Terra Reborn] James Sullivan, President of the United States of Western America, is assassinated in the Western American Capital, Phoenix, in the first wave of a major rebellion by the State of Nevada, supported by Wyoming and Colorado.
• June 1, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Forces operating alongside Western American forces at the RED FLAG exercises in Nevada are attacked by rebel forces, fighting their way out of Nellis AFB and making their way to Luke AFB in Arizona. News begins to spread of further assassinations, including that of Andrew Thorn. Rebel forces are able to secure their positions and dig-in.
• June 2, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Unrest spread across the USWA, with riots in California (particularly Sacramento) and Louisiana. The State of Texas starts to make indications it wants to go it alone.
• June 3, 2013: [Terra Reborn] With the situation in California, General Kieran Grieves, the ranking member of the Western American leadership, requests that the Empire deploy forces to restore order in California.
• June 4, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Indications reach the Imperial Government that Wyoming and Colorado are going to throw in with Nevada, possibly annexing Utah in the process, in order to oppose what was left of the USWA. King Walker authorises a joint military action with the US Military against all three states.
• June 6, 2013: [Terra Reborn] The Imperial Air Force conducts a fighter sweep over enemy airspace, and whilst they emerge victorious the engagement reveals that the enemy forces have more advanced weaponry than they were known to have, indicating an external supplier. The Aircraft Carrier Ark Royal arrives off California and commences operations to deploy Marines to secure various airports to facilitate the deployment of additional troops. Further forces are deployed into all enemy territories over the following days.
• June 17, 2013: [Terra Reborn] Allied forces capture Las Vegas and continue towards Carson City. Two Imperial Heavy Cruisers are attacked by a rebel USWA Battlecruiser, and though taking heavy damage are successful in defeating their foe in battle. The Capital of Wyoming, Cheyenne, is captured by Imperial Forces, this defeat would compel the last enemy holdouts in Denver, Colorado, to surrender without a fight, Carson City in Nevada would follow shortly after.
• July 1, 2013: [Terra Reborn] The Rebel City of Sacramento, California, surrenders to Imperial Forces.
• January 6, 2014: [Terra Reborn] The Los Angeles Police Department uncovers a major weapons stash in South Central Los Angeles, raising major questions about why the various gangs in the area are suddenly arming up.
• January 7, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Following a steady build-up of tensions on the island of Cyprus, full blown religious warfare breaks out between Christian and Muslim factions. The Imperial Air Force Station at Akrotiri is caught in the middle and is attacked by Muslim forces. Imperial forces scramble to respond, and are successful in holding the station.
• January 8-9, 2014: [Terra Reborn] 5 Commando brigade, based around the Assault Ship Zeus, are ordered to Cyprus, arriving the following day in the early hours. The Brigade launches a major assault against enemy positions on the southern shore and secures a beachhead.
• January 10, 2014: [Terra Reborn] The LAPD is engaged in a major street battle by hostile gang forces, resulting in the outbreak of gang warfare in South Central.
• January 11, 2014: [Terra Reborn] The 37th Mechanized Division begins the process of deploying to Cyprus, turning the campaign into a defensive one into a major offensive.
• January 15, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Forces sweep across Cyprus, pushing the enemy back and relieving the siege on the Christian Capital of Nicosia.
• January 16, 2014: [Terra Reborn] With the ongoing troubles in South Central, protection around a major diplomatic conference, hosted by the King, in an effort to solve the issues of the remaining independent North American states, woefully under-defended. The conference is attacked by heavily armed mercenaries, however the King, the Layartebian Foreign Minister, and various other dignitaries, are all evacuated in various ways. The State of Missouri is identified as the source of both the weapons, the cash and the mercenaries, and the King orders an invasion, as well as the deployment of troops onto the Streets of Los Angeles.
• January 17, 2014: [Terra Reborn] The Imperial Air Forces begins its airstrikes against Missouri, gaining air superiority and pounding enemy defences.
• January 18, 2014: [Terra Reborn] The Parachute Regiment deploy into Missouri, seizing airports and other critical targets to pave the way for further troop deployments.
• January 23, 2014: [Terra Reborn] The Missouri Capital of Jefferson City surrenders to Imperial Forces.
• February 1, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Forces destroy the last Muslim hardliner holdout, marking the end of major combat operations on Cyprus.
• May 26, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Following the election of a democratic government, the State of Missouri, and its surrounding states, join the Empire of Apilonia.
• September 1, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Cyprus officially becomes an Imperial Crown Colony.
• September 19, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Shortly after the ‘accidental’ death of the Director of Imperial Intelligence, King Walker is assassinated in a major attack on his helicopter convoy. His assassination sets off a major reaction and the elevation of his son, Arthur, to the throne.
• September 20, 2014: [Terra Reborn] King Arthur authorises the full-scale enacting of the Emergency Measures allowed under the Defence of the Realm Act, effectively placing the Empire under Martial Law. An Imperial Coastguard Cutter intercepts a suspect vessel, and relays vital intelligence to the National Police Service. The NPS prevents an attack on the Prime Minister, but the Home Secretary is killed. With evidence of an expanding conspiracy and campaign of terror, King Arthur is moved to the secure government bunker known as ‘Pegasus’.
• September 21, 2014: [Terra Reborn] A wave of terrorist attacks strike all over the Empire, despite DORA, and spread fear across the Empire as hundreds of Imperial Citizens are killed. Evidence of a number of traitors within the Imperial Government and Civil Service are revealed, and King Arthur authorises Kill Orders, following an attack on the Security Service. Further evidence is uncovered revealing just how high the conspiracy goes, up to and including the former Prime Minister, David Warren, and the intent behind the conspiracy being to encourage the King to enact highly restrictive civil liberties laws.
• September 22, 2014: [Terra Reborn] Despite the arrest of some of their number, many of the high ranking traitors are able to escape. In order to prevent their plot from succeeding King Arthur addresses the Empire and rescinds the enactment of the Defence of the Realm Act, this deescalating the situation.
• September 26, 2014: [Terra Reborn] King Walker’s funeral is held in Karin City.
• January 1, 2015: [Terra Reborn] The Texan Military conducts major military exercises, designed for Counter-Insurgency Operations, against the express orders of the President of Texas, Jonathan Ballantine. When he reinforces his order, the Joint Chiefs, with the exception of the Chief of Naval Operations, stage a coup and take power.
• January 2, 2015: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Special Forces rescue the Texan First Family from the besieged City of Alice and remove them to safety at HM Naval Base Corpus Christi. At the same time Rear Admiral O’Neill meets with Fleet Admiral Hood of the Texan Navy, as they begin to plan how to retake Texas.
• January 4, 2015: [Terra Reborn] Renegade Texan forces attack HM Naval Base Corpus Christi in an effort to sieze the Texan First Family, however they are evacuated aboard the Battlecruiser Indomitable, which destroys two Renegade Frigates on its way out. At the same time the Vice President of Texas, John Breckenridge, leads the loyalist forces to the Empire, and requests the Empire to allow the loyalist forces to pass into the Empire.
• January 5, 2015: [Terra Reborn] A raid by the Imperial Special Forces succeeds in rescuing President Ballantine from renegade hands. When the evacuation convoy comes under attack, King Arthur orders IAF Fighters into Texas.
• January 6, 2015: [Terra Reborn] The Imperial Air Force launches a major air offensive against Renegade forces as Imperial ground forces begin to marshal in the surrounding states for a ground offensive.
• January 8, 2015: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Forces invade Texas and make sweeping gains in the western parts of the state, pushing the enemy back to their main centres of power around the cities.
• January 10, 2015: [Terra Reborn] As the ground war rumbles on the IAF launch a major strike against Renegade bomber forces operating out of Barksdale AFB, which would shortly thereafter be sized by the HM Cavalry.
• January 12, 2015: [Terra Reborn] The Imperial 4th Cavalry deploy to NAS New Orleans and from there secure the city followed thereafter by Baton Rouge within three weeks.
  
• January 25, 2015: [Terra Reborn] Imperial Forces seize Fort Hood, the headquarters of the Renegade military, and turn their attention on the two remaining cities.
• February 13, 2015: [Terra Reborn] The City of Dallas falls to Imperial Forces, with the leaders of the coup captured and handed over to the Texan Loyalists. With the sheer level of destruction and the damage done, not to mention the damage that had been suffered by Texan society, the decision was made to return Texas, and its states, to the Empire which had given birth to it hundreds of years previously.
• September 16, 2015: [Terra Reborn] Texas, and its vassal states, formally become a part of the Empire of Apilonia, with Jonathan Ballantine being created Duke of Texas, John Breckenridge being created as Duke of Louisiana.

So just to update some of you folks. Dalmasce is on vacation now for two weeks and I'll be out of two in two periods from April 14 - 17 and then again from April 22 - May 1. Don't expect to see me online either of these periods. There will be an update the following weekend for May 7 or May 8 and anyone without any semblance of activity between now and then will find their claims put either into free claim or an NPC. I want to do some house cleaning.

Noted. Now that the bachelor party is over, my little sister is married and thus I will be able to string together a couple sober evenings in a row to work on it, I shall start my RP. I plan to have to simultaneous intro's running. One will be a "book" with new chapters added as various events in my intro plays out and serve as the written history of the EAU and will probably stay up in perpetuity as I intend to add to it whenever an RP is concluded that I participate in. I would like to ask that people avoid posting in that thread, however if you see an opportunity to add to it feel free to drop me a line and I would be happy to incorporate other people's work if it fits in with the rest of the book. I think I can safely advance a couple chapters before needing to open up the second RP thread since the beginning of the book will go over pre-foundation background information, character introductions, etc. stuff that wouldn't make for a super exciting RP where others would want to join in. The second thread will be the actual RP and I will set up in a couple weeks when we get to the juicy parts, spoiler alert: there might even be a high speed car chase!

Basically my people won't want to be thought of as rebels or traitors, thus the narrative that the Soviet Union collapsed (regardless of what those liars in Russia claim) rather than certain members choosing to leave.

Israel is surrounded by states that refuse to acknowledge their existence. One nation's stated policy and beliefs towards another do not have to reflect reality. The view of my nation will be that functionally the USSR ceased to exist when several members chose to leave and establish a separate state, regardless of what the remaining states within the USSR may claim. To use a contemporary sports metaphor, it's like the old Big East versus the new Big East. Sure the Big East name continues, but is it really the Big East without Syracuse, UConn, Louisville, etc.? That's the view of my government in this RP. I'm also not trying to refute the existence of the USSR either, however my state won't recognize the current USSR as the successor state to the old USSR but rather as a new state with the same name. Again, these are just the stated views of my state as it will pertain to the RP, not an attempt to say "hence forth this is how it should be!"

Earth II never had a Cuban Missile Crisis and I think that's a little sad. Of course, there is a perfect catalyst in Lemnos circa 1964. But wait! Don't you control that Layarteb? I do. So would the Soviets introduce missiles to Lemnos or target them at Lemnos? No. Of course they wouldn't. So then who would? Your friendly neighborhood Layartebians that's who! How's this for a role reversal?

Well I am back en los Estados Unidos now after a pretty awesome 10-day adventure in Espana. First observations, Madrid was lame. It was basically just like NYC but with older buildings and less English-speaking people. The locals were rather rude, no one says excuse me, and not unlike Americans, they all think you can board a train at the PRECISE same time people are exiting the train. Not sure how that works. Even still three days there was enough. On the other hand, everywhere else was amazing. I visited the Alhambra and Granada, hiked in the Caminito del Rey, went full-on tourist in Malaga and loved it x10, hit up Toledo, which was in and of itself a wonder to behold, and went through Ronda as well though not for nearly as many hours as I would have liked. Malaga in contrast to Madrid was an awesome and amazing place. If anyone is thinking of visiting Spain and you're looking for somewhere to go put it on your list of destinations (along with all of the other places I mentioned).

I have two more posts ready to go but unfortunately we took some damage in a storm two weeks ago and I won't have time to devote to NS for quite some time as we deal with repairs both in terms of manual labor and financially. I think I have to accept that with two jobs and two kids my NS days are over, all is not lost though, I did earn some cool points with my son when he discovered NS on his own about six months ago and I informed him my nation is over 11 years old. Hello all - opinion time. So with Estainia/Dalmasce working on the Roman history (yes I know we promised this ages ago but life is a thing) we'll have to certainly redo all of the history. Now this doesn't mean any of you have to resubmit your history en masse, I promise you this. We will of course review for conflicts and address those individually but I don't see this being a major problem so you need not worry about it.

What you do need to worry about is giving your opinion on the formatting - more importantly the layout - of the history.

At present this history is laid out as such:

• January 2012: [Yanitza] In an effort to halt the violence spreading across the country, military commanders in much of Senegambia impose strict control over the population, attempting to regulate movement of goods and people.
• January 1, 2012: [Alliance ofFree People] During President Thorn's New Year's Day speech, he announces the development of a new constitution and calls for the nation's name to be changed from that of Federal States of America to United States of Federal America in an effort to emphasize the united nature of the Federal States.
• January 2, 2012: [Itailian Maifias] In the wake of the agreement and in fear of a possible Olmerian expansion on her western borders, Dutch ground troops partake in a massive incursion into French nationalistic territory in what is dubbed Operation Rose Garden with the objective of securing all major cities in former Parisian territory.

We go by date and if there are multiple entries on a single date we go alphabetically by the player. This is fine for now but I feel as if it can get rather muddled. So would you prefer we stay with this method or go to something like this:

I think the second format looks much better. Each date stands out a bit more.
