Why? Both factions want independence from Earth, one way or the other. They could cooperate at first, then settle their differences. My group won't necessarily be "far-left" just wanting to be independent and direct democratic, a communal system since the colony is small and has few people.

Born in Austria in a highly dysfunctional family Franz was an enigma for his environment, always upbeat and optimistic even in the most trying times he would find a way to keep people going. Throughout his schooling he excelled in nearly every subject, especially in science and history, two subjects he put the most emphasis on. In college Franz studied robotic engineering, something that he thought could be used to push humanity forward into a better future. It was also at college where Franz began to theorize about the most perfect human civilization that merged the world of man with the world of God, that pushed humanity forward technological while still respecting the dignity of humanity. To this end he came to the conclusion that the Holy Roman Empire, modified to fit with new technology of course, would be the greatest template to build a future civilization on. Graduating from college with a doctorate in robotics engineering and making a name for himself in the robotics community he decided to give himself fully over to God and join the priesthood.

Since becoming a priest Franz kept working on robotics, making a decent amount of contributions to the study and development of robotics, and continued to evolve his theory of a new civilization based around God, technology, and tradition. His writings and theories began to circulate around the world among the traditionalist, monarchist, and some conservative circles and his work in robotics got him some powerful connections with wealthy individuals and his writings gave him connections with ambitious traditionalistic groups. With the plans being worked on for the Lunar colony Father Franz was able to cash a few favors in and pull some strings to get himself onto the colony along with some supporters.

Backstory/Biography: Finley is an Irish national born to a middle class family, nothing special and nothing bad really happened to him in his childhood, he just grew up normally. He went to a Catholic school but gradually began to fall away from religion until he became only a nominal Catholic, much to the dislike of both of his parents. Decent grades all throughout high school he was always in the middle of he pack unless it came to sports where he was one of the best in any sport he played, team, solo, or fighting, it didn't matter he competed like there was nothing else left in the world.

After high school Finley really wanted to have an adventure so he signed up to join with the French Foreign Legion, a decision prompted by romanticized stories he read in school. Training was difficult for him but he was able to adjust rather quickly due to his physical fitness and athletic abilities, though mentally he was still very immature and not prepared for the brutal truth of actual combat. On his first tour of duty Finley suffered from a mental breakdown in the middle of a firefight and nearly got his squad killed. On the verge of being discharged from the Legion, Finley was able to turn things around after an insurgent attack on his camp left many of his comrades dead. Angered by the deaths of his close friends something snapped in Finley and he fought back like a man possessed, a personality trait that he would carry with him for the rest of his service with the FFL.

With his second tour done with the French Foreign Legion, and becoming highly decorated, Finley decided to petition to join the UN to try and make a larger difference. Something happened though during his first tour with the UN that shook him to his very core, something that disgusted him so much he resigned from both the peacekeeping force and the French Foreign Legion. A year would pass, and during this time he found refuge within the teachings of the Church he left when he was a young boy and returned full heartedly to the faith. Though he was enjoying the peace of not being a soldier there was a pull back to the thrill of military life that he could not escape so he joined a private military contractor to get back into the fray after a year of civilian life. With the PMC he lead a squad of soldiers to fulfill missions of the upmost importance that the company had. This continued for awhile before he went public with war crimes committed by the company and successfully protected high ranking world leaders after the company, a front for a war profiteers, tried stopping the investigation. This is the event that secured his position on the Lunar colony.
Qualifications: Two tours of duty with the French Foreign Legion, a tour of duty with the UN peacekeepers, and the last two years as a private military contractor specializing in security and anti-insurgency tactics

He grew up pompous, arrogant, and ambitious; he eyed the throne of father but his older dimwitted brother was the heir to the commercial empire of the Absolom Corporation. Throughout primary school he attended a prestigious boarding school in which he was always the top of his class and various sport captains, doing anything to keep his position as he was highly competitive. During one period he had slipped narcotics into a teacher’s pocket and got them fired due to the mutual distrust between the two. His achievements never good enough for his father though, the light always shined on his older brother. At the age of eighteen, Isaac took a break from schooling and decided to travel around the world, from Beijing to Timbuktu. Although during a trip to India he had picked up an opium addiction through his numerous brothel adventures.

When he returned he attended the prestigious Oxford University taking up double majors and a minor. Once again graduating the top of his class, he was finally rewarded for his deeds from his father. Soon Isaac became the head of public relations for the company, and once again began traveling in the name of Absolom meeting with powerful men such as sultans to presidents. Soon Isaac became angered as his accomplishments piled up while his brother lazily sat around and still the title remained to him. During the London World Economic Summit of 2019, he managed to organize the secret meeting between the top men attending the summit. Although he was excluded from actually attending it, he later found out that he was named the head of the charter. This both excited him and angered him; he would be sent somewhere, where few had ever gone but he felt this had been done by his brother to get him as far away from Absolom as possible.

Backstory/Biography: Jack was born nearly a foil to Isaac. Some unimportant, orphaned, street-urchin in Belfast who had never had his own bed. He was rebellious and believed that the world was out to get him, taking to thievery at a young age. During one run-in with the law, the arresting officer felt sympathy for Jack. The officer told Jack that he needed an education and if he promised to straighten himself up that the officer wouldn’t take Jack to jail. Jack agreed but their deal didn’t just end there, the officer ended up adopting the poor orphan. Jack straightened up and his new family pushed him to become a model citizen. He never had the best grades, but worked his ass off. He became grateful of the little bit he had, and soon when he came of age, joined the British military. Jack was complimented by his superiors and eventually Jack became part of the prestigious 22 Special Air Service Regiment. He exemplified himself as model soldier for various actions in counter-terrorism acts.
His adoptive father died off, and he had a child on the way. He couldn’t afford the tripling debt in the regiment and decided to leave the public military for private military. Description: The Charter was originated at the London's World Economic Summit of 2019. Several of the world's most influential business leaders from companies such as; The Absolom Corporation, Transterra Transportation, Argo Private security, and many more as well as members of various liberty-leaning and capitalist think-tanks came together. In the shady backroom of the large convention center, several of the leaders down to discuss one important topic, the lunar colonies. The men believed that governmental organization's would want to basically nationalize moon colonization, and the opportunity was too large to give up.

The Libre Charter was created: with the money of the Absolom Corporation, the technology of Transterra Transpiration, the muscle of Argo Private Security, and the political clout of many Libertarian think-tanks. Nathanial's younger son, Isaac, was given command of the organization and the opportunity to go to the colony as a main advisor. The faction pushes for laissez-faire capitalism, minimal government, big business, and the continual colonization of the moon. Some say that the charter represents the old imperialist regimes.

Official Name: The Libre Charter
Founder: Nathanial Malone
Current Leader: Isaac Malone
Description: The Charter was originated at the London's World Economic Summit of 2019. Several of the world's most influential business leaders from companies such as; The Absolom Corporation, Transterra Transportation, Argo Private security, and many more as well as members of various liberty-leaning and capitalist think-tanks came together. In the shady backroom of the large convention center, several of the leaders down to discuss one important topic, the lunar colonies. The men believed that governmental organization's would want to basically nationalize moon colonization, and the opportunity was too large to give up.

The Libre Charter was created: with the money of the Absolom Corporation, the technology of Transterra Transpiration, the muscle of Argo Private Security, and the political clout of many Libertarian think-tanks. Nathanial's younger son, Isaac, was given command of the organization and the opportunity to go to the colony as a main advisor. The faction pushes for laissez-faire capitalism, minimal government, big business, and the continual colonization of the moon. Some say that the charter represents the old imperialist regimes.

Backstory/Biography:Being born in 2000, Orwell was always different than the other children. He grew up knowing he was destined to be a leader. Orwell would constantly terrorize his classmates as well as sexually assaulting a girl in Highschool (the authorities didn't know). Orwell enjoyed killing animals and burning plants. As he grew up, due to limited friends, he excelled at school. Although an odd person, Orwell is very intelligent. (Should be at least a paragraph, but it can be longer.)

We could definitely have a strong alliance! Why we would not merge fully is two simple reasons; first off we don't want to succeed (just yet, there might be plans down to the line if Isaac can build his own company) but for now they are relying on starting some sort of resource harvesting to send back to companies on Earth. Secondly, the faction is funded by the corporations on Earth who wish to strengthen their rule as well as Isaac who wants to strengthen his own power. One could say it is slightly more corrupt per say, yet Isaac will still look out for the colonies best interests as it is not ONLY about himself and the greedy Earth corporations.

Backstory/Biography: Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany in 1995, young Sigmund was always exceptionally bright - and privileged. His father was an influential German SDP politician, first in the Hamburg Parliament then in the German Bundestag. From his father, he earned his skill and passion as an up and coming politician, who perhaps may have had a promising career ahead of him had he not chosen to use his exceptional mind to focus on biology and medicine. He quickly went through higher education and became a doctor when he was 22 years old and a certified surgeon at 27, a remarkable feat by any standards. When the Lunar Colony mission was announced, his father pulled strings to get young Sigmund into that colony - after all, with Germany having one of the strongest economies at that point and being a benefactor of the mission, it was only fitting that a German from a prominent political family be chosen to perform a great duty for Earth. The prodigious Sigmund humbly accepted the honor that was bestowed upon him, with the promise to his father that he would bring honor to their family and that he would ensure that Lunar Colony and Earth would remain in a close embrace (Sorry if this paragraph is a bit shoddy, its been a while since I last posted in NS).
Qualifications: Sigmund Kalbfleisch is a doctor and surgeon, not to mention well-connected to Earth, something that could come in handy should the colony become desperate for supplies and aid.

Mind you that we are for some levels of autonomy: the ability to create and operate our own form of local government, accept and deny whomever we please based upon our own desired skillsets and other qualities, and the ability to regulate less than admirable traits from taking root on the colony. Would this all be acceptable?

Its not just that you are trying... *sighs*... to set up the holy roman empire on the moon, the main reason why the new evangelists will not like you is because you are militant; and the whole " Thout shall not kill" and " Turn the other Cheek" thing will be a pretty big tenet of our group.

Yeah there probably will, but it will be interesting. Also, I don't see how you can establish a Holy Roman Empire...when we're nowhere near Rome and when many people have probably read enough history to know that the HRE was a disaster.
