DESCRIPTION
The Halcyon Arms designed and built C-54 Albatross is a large military transport cargo aircraft, providing intercontinental strategic airlift capability. It can carry oversized loads, including large main battle tanks, small vessels, and helicopters.
The Albatross features a rear-swept dihedral, high aspect ratio blended box wing with a v-tail rear stabilizer that attaches to the box-wing. This, combined with an over-wing engine configuration and lifting-body design, allows the aircraft to lift weights not normally attainable by similarly sized aircraft.
- Warfare Roles of the Albatross
- Paratrooper Insertion
- Troop Transport
- Cargo Transport
- Firefighting
- Large Parachute-Bomb Deployment
- Medical Evacuation
