Introduction/Story So Far
Flardania/Kirishima National Football Team also known as the Kitsunes are Flardania's best soccer players. Football is the national sport of Flardania and the Kitsunes help showcase the KONAMI Premier League . After years of playing domestic play and tragically missing BOF 56 and BOF 57. Flardania would later enter Baptism of Fire 58 and after just barely exiting the Group stage, Flardania as the bottom #16 Seed upset #1 Seed San Llera and defeated Maretta to reach the semi-finals. The Kitsunes unfortunately finished fourth and bitter fans refer to the top 3 teams as the "Puppet Show". Flardania expectations were much smaller going into the WC 71 and look to at least qualify for the main cup. The Kitsunes looked like they were contenders early on but struggled as they were in a really difficult Group mixed with Flardania playing too balanced a game against the high powered offense while lacking enough offense to dismantle defensive disciplined teams. Flardania would have a mediocre showing in the Cup of Harmony with the only notable news being the historic upset against Cosumar. The Kitsunes look to turn the passion of the sport into wins and gain international respect after always being predicted to lose. The Kitsunes went into World Cup 72 with a miserable first half that had Kyosuke on the hot seat until they turned things around and finished 4th in the group, thus given Hikaru the rank boost he sought. The Kitsunes are still led by beloved athlete Joseph Yabuta of the Akihabara Electronic OFC as Striker. In goal remains Miyoko Hojo a fmr Chinese Cuisine chef with excellent leaping abilities and reflexes who has lead Olympique Imgeum-si to a shocking miracle season in her first season and 2nd place the following season due to defensive mistakes. Hikaru went into WC 73 with his main objective being finishing at least mid table and entering COH with stronger momentum. The Kitsunes failed to finish midtable (4th) and enter the COH as they shockingly finished 2nd, a feat only predicted by the media in Saintland and won their playoff game to advance to the world cup proper for the first time. Now with the Kitsunes Rank increase of 45, the Kitsunes seek another return to the World Cup or as consolation their first deep run in the Cup of Harmony. A notable new addition to the squad is Akiho Ubukata at midfield.

Kirishima as it is called in the East and as Flardania in the West is an archipelago in the Asia Pacific. Kirishima means literally Mist and Island in Japanese and is known locally as the Islands of the Mist. Kirishima is an archipelago comprising of 1,721 islands. They can be divided into seven large and major islands - Hontō, Zipangu, Yamatai, Reijima, Kiyomisu, Iroshima, and Yajiriguni. Kirishima is an interesting place that is historically made up of Kirishinans which sociologist determined to be remnants of the Gaya Confederacy and some refugees Baekje Kingdom during the rise of the Silla kingdom in Korea in 660 A.D. These people mixed with Japanese who already shipwrecked or settled in the region prior, along as local Asiatic peoples. Each had their own kingdoms that would eventually be united under four Kingdoms which would eventually be divided among Europeans. Namely the French and British. When the french won one of their few theater conflicts in the seven years war they named the land Flardania in honor of the Swedish explorer who discovered the land in the name of France.

Kirishima despite having an Asian majority population, has a decent sized European, African, Arabic minority. The nation is proud of it's very welcoming and tolerant attitude despite how it looks. It is a moderate nation that can be very liberal on some issues and conservative on others. A very important piece of information is the prohibition of smoking tobacco. Kirishinan people believe in a clean body and clean environment even before the world found out about those issues. One may be caught off guard by how clean of litter the cities and metro systems tend to be.

Tactic: "The Ballista" 4-3-3 +2.83
After coming in during World Fair III Christmas truce with literally no experience in coaching, Hikaru Kyosuke was initially thought of as a placeholder until the team could find a more establish manager. Kyosuke however has always managed to keep his job when it matters and has been working tirelessly on a unique football style and gameplan. Kyosuke definitely wants an offensive minded team but the question has always been how offensive should they be. With a fourth place finish in the Baptism of Fire Hikaru decided to use more offensive tactics which lead to a surprisingly 5th place finish in the group. Which lead to Hikaru applying more offensive where despite a Cosumar upset Flardania got bounced from the Cup of Harmony and win less in friendly until he toned down the offense a little bit for the 72nd World Cup with his job on the line. The Kitsunes bounced back in the second half but the goal differential was bad especially against balanced lower ranked teams. Which is why despite still being significantly offensive minded, this is one of the most defensive minded Kitsunes team in the history of Kirishima. Manager Kyosuke is focusing more on counter attacking with his notable defenders Ayame Fujisaka who has a great mind for the game and the tomboy former university track star Koharu Miyamoto whose speed, passing and footwork enables her to get up the field quickly and in position to opt a pass to a midfielder. Claire Nguyen had a great season with Akihabara and is on the starting line up with teammates Yabuta and fello center back Fujisaka. With Izumi and Papadopoulos on the field they can place the ball in great positioning of any of the Kitsunes capable strikers especially Yabuta to drill the ball into the net. Also with Yabuta's almost unnatural ability to score of volley's it will become obvious how Yabuta made the Baptism of Fire 58 squad. Also by playing more defensively Kyosuke hope to put less pressure on Hojo because despite her impressive efforts in the Goal one cannot expect her do much better with the amount of pressure she receives constantly. This is truly the work of a man who has enough job security.

Captain: Papadopoulos/If Subbed out: Fujisaka/Izumi/Seo
Penalty Taker: Nayasaki/Izumi/Fujisaka
Free Kick Taker: Izumi/Ichikawa/Yabuta

Audioslavia National Football Team

After being with Kirola sports for the best part of forty years, recent controversy over the use of sweatshops in developing nations has forced the FFA's hand in changing kit suppliers for cycle seventy-four, and it's JMC - a Krytenian company - who have controversially been given the contract. Audioslavia having their shirts sent in from the cyan lands is no new thing - JMC made Audioslavia's kits for a while around fifty cycles ago - and most fans are at least relieved that the traditional claret and green with white pinstripes has been retained.

Audioslavia is, both ICly and OOCly, rather ancient. The country was founded on December 17th 2002, a period regarded as 'pre-history' by many. The nation originally CTE'd in 2006, was revived briefly in 2007 and 2009, and enjoyed a proper resurgence at the start of 2012, locating itself in Atlantian Oceania indefinitely after IC centuries of rivalries with various nations in the region.

The Audioslavia national side participated in World Cups 4 to 29, made an abortive comeback in World Cup 37, and rejoined the world of international football properly back in World Cup 59. The ancient Audioslavia side qualified for all but one of the World Cups it entered (a young Audioslavia failed during the WC5 qualifying playoffs) and generally maintained a place in top twenty of the world rankings, peaking at #1 during the qualifying phases of World Cups 20 and 21.

Paradoxically, the national team has seen more success in its modern form - a period where quick success is much more difficult to achieve than in the early days. Whereas those early years yielded only the inaugural U21 World Cup and a string of losing finals in the World Cup proper, the modern team won the Baptism of Fire tournament before WC59 and triumphed in the thirty-fifth, thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth installments of the AOCAF Cup. The side have also reached the final of the AOCAF cup on four other occasions and have reached as far as the semi-finals of the Cup of Harmony.

Modern Audioslavia finally won the World Cup itself in cycle 63, a victory that required a huge amount of luck and some very po-faced, negative football. Audioslavia managed to win the tournament despite going into the qualifiers with a ranking of #53 in the world. Four years later, in World Cup 64, the national side proved that this win, as fortunate as it was, was no flash in the pan when they again took home the World Cup trophy, completing the first ever 'double-double' of winning back-to-back AOCAF and World Cup championships.
Audioslavian footballers tend to be a little on the small side, with few players standing over six feet (1.83m) tall. The average Audioslavian footballer stands at around about 5'8 (1.72m) or thereabouts, though most goalkeepers and central defenders are at least 5'11.

Audioslavian footballers are renowned for their high fitness levels and stamina, though a comparitively lithely framed squad do occasionally have problems when facing large, physical teams. Quick, one-touch passing is the key to Audioslavia's midfield prowess, which likes to play at a high tempo, and the side often take advantage of some fleet-footed wingers and full-backs to play through-balls beyond the oppisition's defensive line after having created the space with some quick interchanges. Audioslavian attacking football was built on the idea that two crisp, quick passes around the opponent's penalty area will lead to a goalscoring opportunity, and as such the team's forward line throughout history has been littered with quick-thinking playmakers and dead-eye finishers.

Recent Audioslavian sides haven't been without their weaknesses. Since the retirement of the players that led the nation to glory in cycles 63 and 64 the teams have tended to lack true leadership figures on the pitch. Our nation's footballers tend to be stubborn with regards to letting peers tell them what to do. Audioslavian teams sometimes tend towards disorder and in-fighting when truly on the back-foot - say, when one or two goals behind in a game - and are easily disheartened when things start to go wrong. On the pitch, the side's lack of physical strength means defending against corners is often a problem, despite a well-drilled defensive line. Marauding full-backs can be susceptible to counter-attacks via the wings, and very few centre backs in Audioslavia are particularly quick. One major problem in recent years has been a lack of imagination when going forward, leading to the likes of 6'4 Dragan Kryznjak being picked ahead of arguably more talented forwards. Kryznjak's goalscoring record speaks for itself, but some argue that the team's over-reliance on long-balls when going forward has cost them a few important games in recent years.

Kontrapuntzeka has long been the name of Audioslavia's style of play, taken from the Auskadian word for 'counterpunch'. Audioslavia's ability to hold teams at bay for long periods before hurting them via quick counter-attacks and short bursts of activity helped the side to its two World Cup victories. As the years have gone by, Audioslavia have had to veer away from the style as opponents start to adapt and change. The system that won two World Cups in a row doesn't quite hold against modern football teams. The national team have never really adapted a new style, however, and current manager Kajaxo Imaslavii, who twice won the cup as a player, has tried to recreate the 'spirit of sixty three' with regards to the side relying on hitting opponents on the counter.

Audioslavia's squad has traditionally consisted of a multitude of Audioslavians plying their trade abroad, including a number of nationalised foreign-born players. The progression of the LigAnaia, however, has seen an larger proportion of domestic-based players make the national team squad. A number of them come from 1830 Cathair, who recently won the coveted Champions Cup.
With Alexander Kirk having left his position after World Cup 72, Kajaxo Imaslavii has taken the reigns.

Imaslavii, born in Audioslavia but raised in Vilita, with both Audish and Vilitan parentage, holds the all-time appearance record for Audioslavia with 172 caps, having represented the country from World Cups 62 to 68. He won two World Cups and two AOCAF Cups as a player. His management credentials include the Champions Cup win for 1830 Cathair and one LigAnaia championship.

Imaslavii is a very Audioslavian manager. He has stated time and time again that he believes Audioslavian football is at its best when they accentuate the positives of the players' games, and that the counter-attacking style is still the side's best bet going forward.

Nevertheless, the Bulls have operated slightly differently in recent times. Gone is the tried and test 4-5-1 formation with one or two holding midfield players. Audioslavia now play a fairly orthodox four-four-two, with the emphasis very much on using wingers, full-backs and two skillful yet small forwards.
Dragan Kryznjak is the out-and-out number nine on the team, supported by one of an array of diminutive and quick forwards, though Apexarena has been given the nod more often than not.

On the wings, Imanol Vengochea is probably the team's most valuable player. He and Zorio Etxezuniyiga have taken the coveted 7 and 11 shirts and will likely be the team's main threats with regards to creating chances. Central midfield has been a bit of a problem position for Audioslavia since Omaexevarria and Hufschmied's retirement from international football. Asier Huelva and Vann Dallara - two of Audioslavia's young prospects - may well find themselves in the centre of midfield despite both being more noted as wingers and full-backs respectively, partnering Johan Tijgers Landhuis in midfield, though Firewood midfielder Connor Magellan has been preferred recently. The lack of depth in the centre may well be one of the reasons Imaslavii has opted for a 4-4-2.

Goalkeeper Sean Patterick will once again take the number one jersey despite Imaslavii having used an array of younger men for the recent Trindl Cup. Wim de Snaaijer will deputise, with the third choice keeper being Audioslavia's first ever elven squadmember. Ahead of the goalkeeper will be the duo of Caceres and Goicoechea, who have established themselves in the centre, while who plays full-back is anyone's guess. Fokke-Rommedahl and Varisco have both had runs in the team, but Dallara is the form player who may well take up the right-back position rather than one in midfield.

Roleplaying permissions: We frown on god-modding if there isn't a sense of humour behind it. Everything else is fine. If you'd like to injure a few players or dish out red cards for a particularly harsh game, go right ahead, go hog wild. Want to injure the entire team in a bus-crash? Fine, but make it good, or suffer the humiliation of having your limbs scattered hither and thither via a blast from my mighty ignore-cannon.

One general rule about the Audioslavian national team is that we are very, very often the 'fall guy'. We've lost so many big matches - WC finals, AOCAF finals, you name it - that we've come to thrive on being the big baddie who gets their comeuppance at the end. If your team has a particular strength or tactic that they like to use, by all means use it against us and RP that it worked tremendously. The scorinator may well show us to have won, but don't let us get away with it without having had a jolly good scare first, and make sure to *really* rub it in our faces if you beat us. Anything that makes it fun to RP. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Official Languages: Portuguese

National Currency: Coroas (CRM$)

National Info: Formed on the start of the XX Century, Matthewsiania is your quintessential irrelevant country that sounds pretty funny on paper. Still a better place to live than most monarchies since this one tends to have some pretty uninterested kings.

HOME STADIUM
Estádio Nacional Rei Mateus I "Mateus Primeiro"
City:
The Royal City of Matekkipper Capacity: 71,450 Hometeam: CME and Real Matekkipper
Known as the newest Stadium of the state named Capital (named that way because of Matekkipper, the country's capital), the Estádio Nacional Rei Mateus I was named after the first king of Matthewsiana, known for both his bravery and his strength. Sadly, the king died a good while ago, leaving the throne for Rei Mateus II. Needless to say, the stadium is pretty robust as a homage to its' namesake on his hey days. It's also the home of sorta-relevant Matthewsianian team CME, formed as a splinter from Rei Mateus I's favorite team, Real Matekkipper; and the actual Real Matekkipper. They end up sharing the venue as a result.

RP PERMISSIONS
Don't kill or injure them for too long. Cards are fine, zanny goals are even better.

SANTACLAUSISGODISTAN SOCCER ROSTER

Santaclausisgodistan is a nation located in the North Pole of Esportiva where it is Christmas every day and everyone is named Santa Claus. As a result, the players can only be distinguished by their numbers. After one of them scores a goal, they will throw presents and candy canes into the stands for the fans to catch and enjoy. They are Santa Claus. That is what they do. And it's Christmas every day. Their uniforms are Santa suits. Just like the flag. That's all Santa Clice ever wear. And yes, the plural of Santa Claus is Santa Clice. Also, before every game, the Santa Clice will hand out Christmas gifts to everyone on the opposing team, as well as all the referees and dignitaries in attendance. Unless they're naughty, like World Cup Committee officials who take bribes on the host vote, in which case they get a lump of coal.

Roster:

Head Coach: Santa Claus
Assistants: Santa Claus, Santa Claus

Lineup:
Santaclausisgodistan uses a 3-4-3 diamond and a +5 style modifier.

GK #1 Santa Claus
DL #2 Santa Claus
DC #3 Santa Claus
DR #4 Santa Claus
DMC #5 Santa Claus (Captain)
ML #6 Santa Claus
MR #7 Santa Claus
OMC #8 Santa Claus
FW #9 Santa Claus
FW #10 Santa Claus
FW #11 Santa Claus

Bench:

GK #12 Santa Claus
DL #13 Santa Claus
DC #14 Santa Claus

DR #16 Santa claus
DMC #17 Santa Claus
ML #18 Santa Claus
MR #19 Santa Claus
OMC #20 Santa Claus
FW #21 Santa Claus
FW #22 Santa Claus
GK #23 Santa Claus

Stadium:

Santaclausisgodistan plays at North Pole Stadium. Since it's Christmas every day, it usually snows, which means Snow Clasico every home game. But it's a Christmas snow so it's special.

KITS:

STARTING XI:

GOALKEEPER

#11 Isa Tangemen - After most of the senior keepers dropped out of the squad to avoid injury during international duty, Isa Tangemen proved to the world that she was worthy of the number one spot. Now the nineteen year old Southeastern prodigy is back as the starter, undisputed this time after winning the job from Dierk Tanzer.

DEFENDERS

#4 Kenneth Berringer - R.C Lions wingback Kenneth Berringer is the starting left back, who can also fill in at CB. Good instincts and good at getting back after attacking.

#3 Bojan Fertig - The former Redtown FC captain is back in D1 as a Atlas defender, looking to help the champions defend their title. Not the biggest guy, but dangerously technically skilled.

#29 Alek Sander - R.C Atlas wingback and centerback Alek Sander makes up the second part of the pairing. One of the best defenders in the league and at 26, he previously wrapped up negotiations for a new four year deal to stay at Atlas.

#14 Nita Jagr - With Boom Redman falling to the second division, coach Svedson decided to go with the hot player over the more proven one. The Cruz Blanca star locked down the left back position for the U-21 team and also played solidly in the Emperor's Cup.

MIDFIELDERS

#5 Alakare Abbey - A survivor of AirLoftus flight 414, Alakare Abbey is 21 years old and filling in for Soren Bayer, who still isn't willing to accept a national team callup. Formerly a centerback, she successfully made the move to defensive midfielder and is now considered the archetype for Armeian DMs after a great performance in the last World Cup cycle.

#8 Raven Ljelt - Replacing Tilo Abrammson in the middle is the electrifying Raven Ljelt, who is having a dominant season for the U-21 team and AFC Center City. Rumors link the controversial CAM to upcoming expansion side Shore United.

#98 Zoran Michel - After recovering from an ACL tear, Milan Toure's young protege became one of the biggest stars in D1, leading Real Barrier to a shocking second place finish where they lost the title to Atlas on the final day. Michel is dynamic and can control the tempo of the midfield without sacrificing his ability to make runs in the attacking third.

FORWARDS

#10 Milan Toure - He may be the most well known athlete in Armeia. The 25 year old ex-Atlas star had a meteoric rise, leading Atlas to their only title before signing a groundbreaking five year twenty one million dollars a year contract with Redtown side R.C Lions. Extremely dangerous near goal, an excellent poacher who's almost always in position. Rumors link him to his hometown club, Real Barrier, and his former club, Atlas.

#99 Bianka Schraeder - Probably the nation's most famous and controversial eighteen year old, Bianka Schraeder will start up front over an out of form Edi Dragic. The Lionesses striker is on pace to be a top three scorer in WD1.

#12 Christa Saloman - In the largest shock since Soren Bayer dropped out of the squad, one of the players from the trophy winning U-18 team has been called up again. Saloman didn't play in every game but apparently Svedsson believes that the unsigned winger from Vorsaa fits into his newer high pressing scheme.

LLAMANEAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL ROSTER - WORLD CUP 74

The decline of the Tigers, once playoff qualifiers in the World Cup, has been difficult to ignore. While there’s certainly been a lot of talent on each team, somehow nobody has been able to put it all together and return to the final thirty-two teams - and the manager that lead them to those Cups, Bogdan Antonescu, is busy winning games with Ko-oren. After a poor first showing, Dreamplanet’s Rodrigo Vaz has been given another chance at the reins, and he’s used it to dramatically overhaul the roster, bringing in a number of young, domestic players. Will the gamble pay off? Or will Vaz be the third manager in three cups to meet his demise?

Vaz, still young, later became manager of Real Island CD, one of the country's finest clubs, in the 1989-90 season, which he won. He cemented his status as Dreamplanet's greatest manager in the 1999-2000 season when he lead Sporting CD to third place. Moving onto FC Libon in 2000-01, he gifted the team with a second-place finish before leaving to become Dreamplanet's first national team manager. A respected name within his country, but Llamaneans may soon have different opinions.

thanks to the nation of Dreamplanet for providing information

Assistant Manager: Trevor Duncan, 56

Trevor Duncan was the original Tigers star. Making his debut at a young age in the Tigers' very first appearance, he managed to stay on the National Team every cup from WC63 to WC68. The attacking midfielder was hugely influential with his play on the pitch and off it. After his playing career, he moved onwards to coaching, working in youth development for the New Llama Cyclones before getting a job abroad with the Oslerholm Chariots. A strong selection for a manager who finds himself with a bunch of players who have never heard of him, but is considered too inexperienced and tactically close to Vaz to provide much new insight.

Goalkeeping Coach: Michael Kerraway, 55

Defense Coach: Kristopher Sanchez, 49

Attacking Coach: Jeremy Saberhagen, 55

Team Trainer: Raymond Marcussen, 32

Advance Scout: John Oliver, 63

Video Coordinator: Cyrus Vogel, 38

Sabermetrician: Conan Estelline, 37

A few small changes, but the nucleus of the coaching staff remains the same as last Cup. A reasonable choice, as the team’s struggles didn’t really seem to be the fault of the staff, but instead the choices of Carlton Hoover and his interim successor Clearwater.

#13 - McKenzie FERGUSON - Nacional Porto Velho (USI) - 28
Ferguson missed the majority of a qualifying cycle recovering from a car crash, but her athleticism remains surprisingly unaffected. As the nominal starter, she should be good enough, remaining fairly mistake free despite being just average in the air, and occasionally out-of-position. However, her confidence can be easily rattled, and demoting her to backup won’t be very easy if it needs to happen.
#01 - James COSTA - Tir Snake Strike (CEN) - 28
Costa is very athletic and a good leader, although he still makes the occasional mistake and isn’t great above the ground. Still, he’s a more-than-capable backup, and many argue that he’s better-suited to start than Ferguson is.
#12 - Conor MATTHEWSON - Crossceaster United (LTN) - 27
Matthewson is an unknown quantity, playing for Crossceaster United in lesser-known Lutine. But he’s performed solidly there as a young starting keeper in an unfamiliar environment, and he plays a clean, mistake-free game with great athleticism. His leadership is dubious, though, and he tends to be too quiet to be a clubhouse leader.
#23 - Ryan ENGEL - Wheathampton Warriors (SLL) - 22
A relatively unknown commodity, Engel’s potential has gotten him on the team. While he’s not athletic, he is occasionally capable of incredible saves, which contrast his bland personality and strong work ethic. Even at twenty-two, he rarely makes mistakes, and is a darkhorse for the starting job if things go well enough.
#34 - Caroline McGUIRE - New Llama Gold (SLL) - 23
A somewhat unexpected candidate, McGuire hasn’t been particularly good for New Llama. However, it could be argued that that’s more mental than physical, as McGuire is athletic enough to succeed, able to stop most things on a good day. Crippling anxiety attacks have plagued her, though, and playing for a very strict manager can’t help. An interesting reclamation project, but being #34 shows that the team isn’t going to rely on her for anything.
#90 - Mark HOROWITZ - Oslerholm Capitols (ARN) - 29
Only recently did Horowitz win his club’s starting job from the aging incumbent Maxwell Schneider, but he’s already impressed. Horowitz has good intuition, strong leadership, and can stop anything near him. Unfortunately, he occasionally falls well short of the ball being near him, and his attempts to save penalties are laughably bad.

#25 - LB - Steven MENG - Stilwater City (USI) - 29
Meng can only play the left flank, but he’s surprisingly versatile - known for great instinct on set pieces (despite not being very tall) and an ability to find creative, well-timed passes. Meng is also athletic enough to get by, and decent defensively. Not an NT star, but a useful option.
#28 - LB - Adrian LINDBERG - Coohen City FC (ZEN) - 23
Lindberg, a recent college graduate, is probably one of the more likely candidates to back Sebastian Myers up on the national team. Although he's still pretty raw, his athleticism is remarkable, he's high in stamina, and he's already shown a natural gift for positioning - despite still being rather mistake-heavy. An interesting prospect for the future, one that was named the nation's best college player consecutive years.
#05 - LCB - Jake URBAN - SC Aurora (SLL) - 22
While Urban hasn’t gone abroad yet, he’s expected to do so soon. Former captain of the U21 team, Urban is occasionally too aggressive. However, he’s fast, good aerially, and somewhat more polished than the usual U21 graduate. Possibly a future star.
#02 - LCB - Sebastian MYERS - OAS Royal (COS) - 34 (Vice-Captain)
Sebastian Myers has definitively claimed his spot as the team’s best defender, and already is one of the best the Tigers have ever had. He’s a very good defender who specializes in anticipating passes and is a very good man-marker, although his one flaw is in the air.
#03 - SW/DF - Tyler ZHOU - Nacional Porto Velho (USI) - 26
An extremely smart fullback who's dropped back to sweeper in his club career. Exceptional last line of defense and his football savvy coupled with immense speed and agility is huge, although he's still skinny and prone to being muscled past.
#36 - CB - Troy JORGENSON - Cyclones FC (SLL) - 25
A newcomer to football of any sort, Jorgenson is strong and fast. However, having spent the majority of his teenage years playing baseball as a center-fielder, he’s very raw. After entering the LBL Draft at 18 and being selected in the first round, he flamed out in the minor leagues and began playing for lower-tier clubs. He’s managed to impress enough scouts to make the national team, although Vaz will try his best not to deploy the former baseballer. If he can put it all together, though, Jorgenson has a promising future.
#33 - CB - Immanuel KANE - Oslerholm Chariots (SLL) - 27
Much more polished than Jorgenson, half-Eirelian Immanuel Kane should be able to make an impact on the team. Consistently one of the best defenders in Arondesheim, Kane was nevertheless incredibly underrated. While he’s not too athletic, he has great intuition, is capable of leading a back line (although he likely won’t, considering the caliber of his teammates), and is a surprisingly good man-marker who can compensate for a lack of speed with wits and positioning.
#06 - RCB - James SMITH-REYNOLDS - Heartwood FC (NOV) - 33
Inconsistent. Unreliable. Not driven enough. The criticism of James Smith-Reynolds, who many thought wasn’t at all reaching his huge potential, had been immense. But since then he’s grown on and off the pitch - getting married and having kids - and his natural athletic ability is now paired with intensive film study and pre-game preparation. Expected to contribute.
#26 - L/RB - Michael SORENSON - Brookport Athletic (EIR) - 23
Many a player is to said to have “came out of nowhere”, like past NT members Jack Saucedo and Stefan Bogusevic. Sorenson, however, truly came out of nowhere - Brookport Athletic reports that at sixteen, Sorenson went to a tryout, excelled, and signed onto the team without any previous record of experience - in fact, Sorenson wasn’t even Eirelian, having lived in Super-Llamaland as recently as six months ago. Still, he’s a frighteningly good player considering his lack of a background - fast enough to play up the wings, strong enough to play a very good defense. Could easily supersede the out-of-favor Karnstedt as starting right-back.
#27 - RB - Tristan KARNSTEDT - Cenial United (Ceni) - 29
A fantastic attacking wingback, Karnstedt has exceptional stamina, good speed, and is a strong passer. On the defensive end, he's able to hang back and play adequately, making few mistakes but not doing much either. Could improve his work on set-pieces, but overall he's a good player.

#22 - LM/LW - Lily STANTON - Grasshoppers Turic (OSR) - 31
Playing for SBCC finalists Grasshoppers Turic after signing over the offseason, the 27-year-old Lily Stanton was a revelation for the national team last Cup. Devilishly fast, with a decent finish and a great cross.
#40 - LM/LW/RW - Josva RASMUSSEN - Myrmidon (CEN) - 30
A relative unknown, Rasmussen has nevertheless done fairly well for himself in Ceni, and is expected to beat out the infamous Alistair Quirk and Orson Kerraway for the backup-winger spot. Known locally for his work ethic, Rasmussen is quick and has a decent finish with his left foot, but has never quite been able to fill in the gaps of his playstyle.
#07 - DM/CM - Micah SWANSON - Northwick Athletic (SLL) - 31
An experienced player who’s a defensive stalwart and a team leader, Swanson’s role is nevertheless one of a backup plan - if Felix Rasmussen, Reid Adrian, or both do poorly, the consistent but low-ceilinged Swanson can easily step in. Even if he doesn’t play, he’ll at least be a positive clubhouse influence.
#38 - DM - Ethan CANDELARIO - Free Agent - 24
A bruising, physical midfielder with decent but uninspiring passing touch isn’t the sort of player you’d expect to find on the Tigers. But previous editions of the team’s midfield seemed unable to provide anything in terms of defense (the Tigers’ best midfield pairing, Kyle Sturgeon and Jake Wiggins, were both playmakers who played defense sparingly, a model that recent teams have tried to emulate), and somebody like Candelario should be able to hold down the fort. Will be given a shot, partially due to skill, partially due to his time spent in Apox.
#08 - CM - Megan SIGURORZSON - Arsenal de Relenthi (AFT) - 34
Versatile (can play DM and CAM as well) and can cover a wide range - Sigurorzson is fast, strong aerially, and is known for devilishly-placed long balls that should have her in the starting lineup more often than not. Not the sort you’d want to anchor a defense or finish an attack, though.
#09 - CM/RM - Reid ADRIAN - FK Centurion (ARN) - 22
Questionably Llamanean but undoubtedly talented, Adrian decided to join his grandfather’s home country in order to have a shot at the World Cup. Expected to get the first shot alongside Megan Sigurorzson, Adrian has a very good passing touch and is athletic enough to keep pace with opposing attackers. A right-midfielder by trade, Adrian has adapted to his new position (a move from Oslerholm to Centurion helped as well) and he’s done very well in the team’s first few friendlies.
#29 - CAM/ST - Felix RASMUSSEN - Cenial United (CEN) - 23
Recklessly incisive, Rasmussen is prone to playing out of position. However, he does have the potential to excel in a more free-floating role, as well as the technique and speed to keep up, making him a vital cog to this edition of the Tigers. At twenty-three years of age, it's not too late to try to force him into a more confined attacking role either, and he could even play striker in a pinch. Relying on him in a starting role is a huge gamble, but it seems like one that needs to be made if the Tigers want to make the Cup.
#50 - CAM - James CHEN - Norrion Rovers (EFL) - 24
The previously unheralded James Chen has continued his solid play for Norrion Rovers, flashing signs of potential by coupling devastating playmaking abilities with a very good shot. Still, although he’d like to give 100% every day, growing injury concerns are starting to become a concern, and he arguably wouldn’t have made the team had he not gone off in a Llamaland-Eirelia friendly, scoring a hat trick and assisting two goals in a six-one blowout. Still very inconsistent, but at 24 is still young enough to dream on. If the midfielder puts it all together, Vaz will have improved his team a lot.
#46 - RW - Max QUIRK - Wheathampton Warriors (SLL) - 26
Younger brother of Alistair Quirk, who decided three days before camp began not to play, the littler Quirk takes the game more seriously. Very fast and a composed dribbler, Quirk struggles with his finish but has enough potential to earn himself an invite.
#15 - LW/RW - Orson KERRAWAY - FC Shanak (OSR) - 33
Formerly one of the hottest prospects to join the national team, Kerraway suffered a series of injuries that sapped his once-blazing speed and derailed his career. Somehow, though, he’s made a comeback, improving his passing touch and developing a variety of strong finishes.
#20 - RW - Sebastian INRIQUEZ - Liberty Rodriguez (SJG) - 34
One of the most-hyped Llamaneans in history, Inriquez’s off-the-field antics and the occasional injury concern held him back a bit after he was sold to Lyon at the age of twenty-two for (wait for it) $25,000,000. After some political hiccups in Felix, he jumped ship and headed to San Jose Guayabal’s Liberty Rodriguez for “just” sixteen million. Despite already-mentioned concerns, he’s a prolific scorer, devastatingly quick, prone to over-flashy trick moves, and has one of the best finishes on the team.

#10 - ST - Alex CARTWRIGHT - St. John’s Arsenal (RKQ) - 40 (Captain)
Still a vicious attacker and the face of the Tigers, Cartwright has inexplicably continued to thrive in LigAnaia and international fixtures despite turning forty this year. Still, it’s very likely that this Cup will be Cartwright’s final campaign, whether the team makes it or not. While he’s not as quick as he used to be, his agility and skill in all aspects of the game - twenty years ago he was an attacking-midfielder - will ensure defenders remain afraid of him, whether as a starter or even an impact sub.
#18 - ST - Kristopher NILSSEN - Lotus Park (BRE) - 36
Nilssen’s been unfortunately hidden between two generational talents, Cartwright and Penbrooke. For that reason, despite doing well for himself in the A-League, he’s one of the more underrated players on the roster. He makes up for an age-related loss of agility with a variety of skill moves and a good intuition for where the ball will go. Definitely aging, but still a more-than-capable NT backup.
#11 - ST - Ansel PENBROOKE - Centre for Excellence (APX) - 21
Considered the heir to Cartwright’s throne, Penbrooke’s set milestone after milestone. Patistan offered him forty million dollars and he declined to head over to one of the best youth teams in the world. Expected to take over the #10 next campaign, Penbrooke is still very athletic, and maturation in Apox has turned his good touch into a great one. Has become everything Tigers fans dreamed of, and will likely be collecting a big paycheck come next window.
#32 - ST - Chandler SOUTHWICK - Francesca Orient (BRE) - 32
Still heavily right-footed and still not particularly fast, Southwick has still managed to hold his own in the surprisingly good A-League. He’s achieved this status with a very good right foot and a versatile playstyle, and should be a more-than-capable backup plan with an outside shot at the 23-man roster.
#43 - ST - Jarred NASH - Louargat (KRN) - 26
Previously blocked by Eric Hoover when playing for the New Llama Cyclones, Nash was one of a handful of players positively affected by the dissolution of the LFL - after moving to Eastham, everything clicked and he lead the league in goals. Nash’s shot is his centerpiece, and he’s able to use his agility to maneuver towards it, but he tends to look lost within the inner box, and has earned a reputation as soft. Louargat, however, thought he was worth ten million, and it remains to be seen if he’ll mature into a useful starter.

United States of Devonta Men's National Soccer Team

Coach: Christopher Tajo Mendez
Assistant Coach: Vince Young
Demonym: Devontan
Trigram: USD
Venue: Capitol Stadium, Devonta City, United States of Devonta (Cap. 100,000)

Goalkeepers:

1- Bradley Kozak Cooper [Team: Mariner F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 196 lbs - Age: 30 years old - Starter
Cooper was born into a world of soccer as his parents were both players in the National League, Cooper’s father sent him to the prestigious Dock City Soccer Academy at the age of five. Cooper played as a Defender till the age of 15, As a last minute decision his coach made him take the spot of Goalkeeper after the goalkeeper was injured. In the remaining twenty minutes of the game Cooper had over eight saves and his team went on to win the game 3-2 and become his teams new starting goalkeeper. Recruiting agents from the National League watching the game noted Coopers ability as an effective goalkeeper and continued to watch his performances throughout that season. Before Cooper could start yet another season at his academy he was recruited and signed by Riverton F.C a team in the National League. Cooper played for Riverton for nine years and in the middle at age 18 started playing for the United States of Devonta national men’s soccer team as a substitute goalkeeper against in the region of North Valheaven and North America Paradise. At the age of 23 he became the starting goalkeeper and helped make his nations team the #1 ranked team in his region. In a surprising decision Riverton F.C traded him for three players from Mariner F.C where he plays today and will play till retirement.

Cooper is known for his ultra fast hand-eye coordination, which allows him to move quickly and almost mystically in the goalie box. The ever observant Cooper is good at keeping track of the ball and can easily perform perfect passes and goalie kicks. Known also to play through pain and refuse to give up or let himself done. He is known to be very caring towards children and is a strong supporter of welfare programs.

7- Brandon Lee Kowalski [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 170 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Kowalski started playing soccer at an early age at his local recreational centers team. During his highschool years he played on the national stage in the youth soccer league while playing for his high school as the topped ranked varsity goalkeeper in the country. When he graduated at the age of 17 he was instantly recruited by the Carter Villa F.C as a substitute goalkeeper. He has proudly stayed with the team through its worst and last season became the team's starting goalkeeper replacing Tim Snyder.

Kowalski is known for being a very quick and observant goalie and very timid, Usually sticking to the box instead of attacking. He is also known for being very flexible. Kowalski is very loyal to his teams and it can get him in fights against rival teams.

11- Nicolas El Nunez [Santa Julia Rockets]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 152 lbs - Age: 26 - Substitute
Nunez played in local leagues around Santa Julia most of his child life before making it on the Washington Heights High school’s varsity soccer team as a freshman. He played well but also had his bad games. He managed to make it in his cities minor national league team and played well there for most of his soccer career. Finally at the age of 25 after two good seasons he was offered a two year contract by Bull F.C but he rejected it saying he likes the minor leagues friendly environment better and nothing could change that.

Nunez is known for being cocky which makes him a very aggressive goal keeper sometimes even running at attacking strikers to get the ball, This sometimes backfires on him and they get past him, Although he catches many by surprise.

Left Defenders [Left Fullbacks/Wingers]:

2- Johnson Alexander Brooks [Strickland F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 155 lbs - Age: 33 - Starter
Brooks did not always play soccer but instead played basketball as a point guard which he soon figured out had the same concept as a left winger which he started playing when he tried soccer in 8th grade, After realizing his love for the game he joined a national soccer training program and rapidly gained the skills needed to be a top player in the sport. He played one year for his high school then graduated. After high school he went to college at Desmound State where only in his first season he was recruited by Carter Villa F.C and played seven long years with the team scoring 20 goals as a left winger. As he wanted more opportunity, He played in the nation of Neo-Liberalis for five years on two different teams before returning and being signed with Strickland F.C where he has played his last two seasons and reigning his final two year contract with the club before his retirement. It was no surprise to soccer critics when the #1 defender in the country was picked for the national team, making him the oldest member of the team too.

Brooks is known for being quick and waiting for the right moments to strike out at an unsuspecting player and being able to drive the ball up and make quick precise passes or relatively accurate long shots towards the opposing teams goal. Its known by all players in his league that he never brags or acts like a sore loser and always has an upbeat attitude.

3- Jose Manzano Alvarez [Astro F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Alvarez played soccer in the Youth Soccer League in Santa Julia, New Julia before he started playing for his high school for four years, Although he was considered good and one of the best players in New Julia he was not recruited, But given a scholarship to New Julia University where he played all four of his college years and won one best player award and two best defender awards. After graduation he was finally recruited by a major league team which was his hometowns Astro F.C. on a four year contract.

Alvarez seems to know when to attack another player for the ball or play more cautiously, Making it hard for players to get past him. Despite being able to steal and retrieve the ball he sometimes manages to lose the ball in sloppy fast paced dribbles and does not have the best long passes, Although his speed makes up the distance usually. Alvarez his an active community organizer and donates to charities often.

Center Defenders [Center Backs/Sweepers]:

5- Martin Paul Benton [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 188 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, resulting in a 1-0 loss. Benton is the second youngest player on the team behind Adams.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

6- Daniel Kay Kindred [Nordland F.C]
Height: 6’4 - Weight: 223 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Kindred started playing soccer in the 6th grade for his middle school. By high school he made his varsity team his freshman year and in his Junior year was recruited by his state's only professional team Nordland F.C. at the age of seventeen. He was taller than most of the players on his team and known to be intimidating when you meet him. His taller stature also made him a natural born center back. He made himself known in the professional league as a tall player and can beat most in a jumping battle. After five years in Nordland F.C. he was loaned off for three years to a professional team in the nation of Seggenea. After a successful time in Seggenea and a best defender reward in that country, he was given back to Nordland F.C. on a four year contract.

Kindred's large size makes him an excellent jumper and he his not afraid to throw his weight around or slide tackle with his large feet, Although he can get to aggressive and fouls are a worry when he plays. His mighty long legs make his work as a centre back easy. Attacking he is more clumsy so he chooses to stay on his half of the field unless instructed otherwise.

8- Micco Chi Takishima [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 140 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Takishima went to Braden Soccer Academy for most of his youth soccer career, Till his last two years of high school when he was transferred to Wesley Soccer Academy. His performance his last two years got him in a local minor league team for three years, By the time agents came to observe his minor league team he was the best defender on his team and was signed to Harding F.C. and played two average seasons. In the middle of this he joined the national guard and played for his bases soccer team. The experience in the army was different than in the major league although he quickly adapted.

Takishima short size make him quick and agile and he is usually on the attack, This has its setbacks sense he sometimes strayed too far from his position as center back and goes to the mid field. He also suffers from anger problems which he tries to control.

Right Defenders [Right Fullback/Winger]:

7- Brayden Liam Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 174 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Liam started playing soccer at the age of 10, Since then he fell in love. Playing for his high school he received every best player reward from his school for the four years he was there. After high school he played soccer at Ceceila State University for three years before being signed by Danza F.C a professional football club in his junior year. Liam played well for Danza but a rocky third year prompted Danza to trade him to Ceceila United F.C. Coming back from a bad season playing for a different team Liam contributed in his teams championship victory the first year he was on there team.

Liam prefers a slow paced controlled dribble and is not as fast as the other players on his team, Although he is the best a dribbling and noted for his crossing capabilities. His slow dribble can be a problem as many players take opportunities to steal the ball, Although his slow pace usually can draw fouls from this. As a Winger his control allows for great passes and shots that are usually on goal.

9- Eric James Martin [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 167 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Martin was not introduced to soccer till he decided to try out for his high schools soccer team at a freshman and made junior varsity. The next year he was pushed up to the varsity team and in the next three years. In his senior year his high school won the state championship partly because of him. Martin then went to college at Langston University where he played soccer for two years having an okay first season and a good second season, His performance in the second season of his college career earned him a chance to play for Real Langston F.C which he proudly took and signed with the team for two years. In January of 2016 he resigned with the club on another two year contract.

Martin is a quick Right Fullback and he is not afraid to challenge an opponent for the ball, Although this can backfire if his opponent is good at crossing but his speed makes up for any lost ground. Martin is known for only being able to play on the right side of the field and normally played poorly in the center and left side of the field.

Defensive Midfielder:

4- Isaiah Brandon Russell [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 177 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Russell’s father was a soccer coach for a local youth soccer program which Russell was made to play on. Russell’s father was very hard on Russell and was pressured often to do better, By the time he was in high school he had already been selected to play for a local minor league team. Russell played four years with the team and also played for his high school's varsity team. After graduating high school he was offered a four year contract to play for Danza F.C, Which he proudly accepted. Playing for Danza he seen the team make it to the semi-finals twice in a row. In a three year loan Danza traded him to Nordland F.C. At Nordland he shined with the rest of its strong defense although he played on the midfield. After three years at Nordland F.C. he was then resigned to Danza F.C. and signed another four year contract similar to his first.

Russell is not a good all around player and plays best as a defensive midfielder, He is quick and knows how to mark men and pass well, He seems to work best in tight situations and does not disappoint. He has admitted that he needs to work on his crossing and needs to improve his average level dribble.

10- Marco Hernandez Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 145 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He now plays as a regular starter on the team.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

Left Midfielders:

12- Mohamed Zari Abdullah [Mandiana F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 175 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Son of two Muslim immigrants from a war torn middle eastern nation, Abdullah was born in the United States of Devonta. Playing for the academy for most of his child and teenage life, Leading his team to win four championships and winning various awards. At the age of 17 he was drafted as a first round pick to play for Strickland F.C. for four years. He played for four years at the football club for his four years and got his team to the semi-finals twice. After his four years expired he went north to the nation of Rygristan and played for two years, Winning a championship there and a best player award both years he was there. When he returned instead of joining his old team he signed a five year contract with the struggling Mandiana F.C. Four years in his five year contract Abdullah has played very well for the once struggling football club. He has one championship with the team and has been to the semi-finals with the club. Rumors say he plans on staying with the team and resigning when his current contract ends, although in a surprising move he resigned with the club for four years.

Abdullah has described himself as a devout Muslim and prays on the side of the field every game. He is known for his versatility on all sections of the field, Defense or Offense, Left or right he can play. Dribbling, passing, crossing, and striking are his main perks. The only thing that brings him down is he can sometimes become a ball hog.

13- Tony Lamont Phillips [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Phillips played soccer for a youth league team most of his childhood till the age of 17, When he was selected to play for a minor league team. After just one year with the minor league team and a bad season he terminated his contract and started attending Franks University where had two perfect seasons and brought his team to the semi-finals his second year. After his second year he was drafted as a second round pick by Real Langston F.C. and signed a two year contract. Both seasons where good for Phillips and critics noticed he evolved a lot from when he played at a university level. In January of 2016 he resigned with the club for two years.

Phillips is known for his ability to mark men and steal the ball with quick reflexes. He knows how to get around people and make long passes, Although he tends only to be good playing in a defensive rule and performance varies when he is attacking. Phillips can get very frustrated at players and officials but usually manages to control it.

15- Anthony Don Crox [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, a minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. In January of 2016 he was signed to a two year contract with Harding F.C after attending their training camp.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

Right Midfielders:

14- DeMonte Creole Edwards [Harding F.C]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter

His high school team went on to win the national championship and his youth team made it to the quarter finals. A year after playing soccer for his high school he left his youth team and joined a minor league team. The next three years he saw his high school team go to three quarter finals and his minor league team make it to the quarter finals twice and semi-finals once, Many critics were not surprised when he was signed to a four year contract with Harding F.C. after he finished his time on his minor league team and graduated high school. The four years playing for Harding F.C. brought four disappointing seasons although Edwards played well and managed to bring his team to the semi-finals his second year. Edwards was loaned out to a team in Seggenea for four years, managing to led his team there to two trips to the championships losing both. Edwards returned from Seggenea and resigned a smaller two year contract with Harding F.C.

Edwards is a solid midfielder and is known for his abilities to dribble and control the ball, His shooting abilities from long range and up close are also on par with some of the best, This ability to shoot allows him to be an effective passer also. Edwards struggles to sometimes stay in his spot and sometimes breaks formation.

Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., an emerging professional soccer club. In January of 2016 he announced he would leave his club if his new contract requirements were not agreed too, with plans to play abroad outside Devonta.

Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., he renewed the contract for another two years in January of 2016.

Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Offensive Midfielders:

17- Tyrell LaMarcus Owens Jr. [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 23 - Starter
Owens was the son of a minor league soccer player and was raised into a life of soccer. As a kid his dad made him spend countless hours practicing in his backyard. Owens chose to play for Three Forks University and led his team to a semi-final and a championship. After two years playing for his college team he was drafted by Riverton F.C. and signed a four year contract. Since joining the professional football club he has helped his team to the semi-finals and the quarter-finals.

Height: 5’9 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute

Finally after long negotiations with Danza F.C. he was admitted into the professional league for a two year contract. Bundy has announced he plans to leave Danza F.C and try to play abroad.

Coaching Staff

Huangzhou Yu
Age: 32
From Xiangzhou Sapphire's field, the assistant coach looks promising according to the critics and was the assistant of Xíangjí Hatema. He started his career as coach with a local team and fought his way up to the major domestic league of Kandorith. He has shown to be calm and understanding. Now he makes a return in the coaching staff of the Dragons, as the assistant coach to Yúan Genshí, who spoke utterly confident about Huangzhou's abilities. Huangzhou took over the Kandorese coaching responsibility during World Cup 72, when Xí-tiang was unable to further fulfill his duties and was blamed for the bad performance of the Kandorese team. Huangzhou Yu, after receiving the green light from the Emperor himself, can name himself the youngest coach of the Kandorese national football team ever.

Starting XI

Defence

Goalkeeper

Jianjun Tuan
Age: 26
Length: 186CM
With Wú the legendary goalie of Xiangzhou Frontale injured, Jianjun Tuan takes his place. Jianjun is the goalie of Mazhéng Reds; young and yet very experienced. By the media he is dubbed the rising star of Kandorese football and the brick wall in front of goal. Standing 186CM tall, Tuan has amazing cat like reflexes, ready to jump at all incoming balls and keeping his team safe from conceding

Defence

Xian Shilin
Age: 26
Length: 185CM
Xian is a cold blooded defender of Gamba Hujiajing, a true old school styled defender. Always trying to get his tackles perfectly timed, and never taking his eyes off the ball. His other noteworthy abilities are his free kicks and headers, which he excels at by far.

Huán Jun
Age: 23
Length: 176CM
Huán is the young defender of Nagato, bringing his agile play and quick pace to the Red Dragon's team for the first time in the World Cup

Lung Mara
Age: 27
Length: 176CM
Lung Mara, the tactical connection of defense and the midfield; with amazing speed and passing ability he makes sure the midfield is supplied with the ball to start the counter. Defensive he stays mostly back, until the attacking side slips up, that's when Mara sets in motion the counter

Midfield

Mao Zhensheng
Age: 23
Length: 1862M
A fine defender from Xianghzou Sapphires, replacing Miraki, his team member, in the national team. Young, tall and very quick across the pitch. A true nightmare for approaching strikers. Even though he plays on the midfield, Zhensheng mostly takes a defensive role on this midfield and rarely joins the attack

Keiláng Xie
Age: 22
Length: 180CM
Keiláng Xie is the replacement of the almost legendary JieJie, who decided to opt out for the Kandorese national team after trouble with injuries, Keiláng, like JieJie, plays in Nagato Goya and is a well known quick paced winger, he is also known for quick runs trough the middle and even trying to score himself from time to time.

Taiji Moto (Captain)
Age: 29
Length: 181CM
The Captain, El Commandante, and the elder; Taiji Moto the captain of the Kandorese National Team and the Captain of Nagato Goya. Experienced, ferocious and quick. He plays mostly defensive but when he sees a goal scoring opportunity or the chance for an assist he won't hold back. He is one of the links of the chain,to keep that ball passing and keep possession, while steering the team towards a goal, However World Cup 73 will be Taiji's last one for now as he has announced to pull back from international football

Ximin Chosi
Age: 25
Length: 177CM
Ximin, an ambitious young player from Yingshua Sabers, one of the lesser known teams of the Kandorese Imperial League; but equally dangerous as the bigger names, mostly because of this player. He is an excellent runner, passer and crosser; always looking for a hole in the defence to press the ball towards the striker, he does not often score; but when he does, it's a ranged effort with extreme finesse.

Shan Xiaobo
Age: 27
Length: 177CM
Shan is a true sideline winger and midfielder. He awaits any chance on the wings and answers those with quick runs forward and crosses into the box. His passing and crossing accuracy is deadly, especially in deadlocked or important matches. He has been the star of his team Quiatoa Shinsen for many years now.

Strikers

Madato Xien-kan
Age: 24
Length: 180CM
Madato is the star striker of Qing Shinsen, a lesser known and mid table club from the Kandorese domestic league. After Xí-tiang took the national team under his wings, Madato has been proving himself to the coach over and over. Now instead of starting on the bench, this young player has the ability to prove why he should be at least as frequently in the starting eleven as Méng is.

Minzheng Shéng
Age: 23
Length: 182CM
Minzhen, a true support striker who rather passes the ball than score himself. Even though he has created beautiful goals in the past; he is the man to set up the initial goal. A great all round runner and striker, a great free kick taker, but not truly a finisher; but in combination with Méng a very deadly forward

Age: 26
Length: 181CM
The current star of Kandorese football. This youngster has made his name as goal cannon, never passing the oppertunity to score and when he does see the chance; the ball flies in like a guided projectile. Also agile and a real dribbler, he loves to run circles around the defence and rocket the ball into a tight corner. Méng is accurate, calm and controlled, which made him the current top scorer of the Kandorese league.

"Huanghzhé Stadium"
Capacity: 120,000

Originally designed as a multi-purpose Olympic stadium, it was bought by the management of the Nagato Goya soccer team. APOX WORLD CUP 74 QUALIFIERS ROSTER

Manager: Olim Benzari, Aged: 49
Assistant Manager: Ivel Mendes, Aged: 53
Style: -1

Spiel: Another WC rolls around, and Apox did relatively well but were still a little underwhelming in a Campionato Esportiva performance which saw them finish 4th. It's much the same team wheeled out for this set qualifiers, with the youth firmly embedded in the side. Expect Benzari to rotate the team around a fair bit as well, especially if the team performs well in the qualifiers. This tournament is set to be one of the later ones of national team legend Solomon Etezadi, who has become the fourth Apoxian to reach 100 caps.

Schiavonia announce their squad for World Cup 74

After twelve years off the international scene, the Sloths (or, if you're Audioslavian, the Knobjockeys) return to action in the qualifiers of World Cup 74. Where have we been? I'm sure we'll find out during the course of the competition.

And the team? After being unrepresented for over half a century, a successful run to the play-offs for World Cup 68, the Sloths offered very little in their follow-up attempts at World Cups 69 and 70, when the squad became considerably more cosmopolitan, as Cafundelese and Garundi populations made their way to Schiavonia. Clearly, they didn't mix too well at first, but now they've spent 20 years together, they seem to be getting along a lot better now. We think.

A GUIDE TO SCHIAVONE PLAYING POSITIONS

Schiavone football teams generally play in a 4-3-3 formation, but the different positions are not always referred to in normal terms. The goalkeeper (GK) and centre-backs (CB) are as normal, but the rest are not so clear cut.

The left-back (LB) and right-back (RB) are very important in attacking, and generally one attacks down the wing while the other one comes in and covers as a centre back.

Ball winner (MB) is a midfield position that does exactly what you think. They sit in midfield to protect the defence and win the ball back for the team.

A distributor (MD) is a player with very good passing skills, and can switch play or unlock a defence with one pass, but can keep it simple if the situation requires it.

The creator (MC) is a player who runs at defenders with the ball before either shooting or, more often, laying it off for someone else to have an effort on goal. They are good at attracting defenders and so making space for team mates.

The runner (FR) is a player who can run away from defenders - either through pace or skill - and make chances for themselves and others with this advantage.

The strength (FS) is what most people would call the big man up front.

Finally, the finisher (FF) is a player who has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time to stick the ball into the goal with an uncanny regularity.

So there you have it. A guide to the Schiavone style of playing football. Hope that was helpful.

So who are the Sloths? Well, as they're starting out again, they're a relatively young and inexperienced squad with one eye on the future...

TEAM MANAGEMENT
Benny Sanderson (age 47)

The seventh generation of Sandersons to either coach or play for Schiavonia, dating back almost 200 years to Schiavonia's debut at World Cup 26. Though the first six genertions were all called Benny - Kenny got his name due to illegible writing on his birth certificate.

Tony Cueto (Age 53)
Tony was captain of the World Cup 68 & 69 teams, and is joint manager with Benny. Tony is the serious head alongside the more flaboyant nature of his co-manager. But just as they were such a good foil for one another in the Schiavone midfield, so too their personalities combine well in management. Oh, and they pretty much run the country in their spare time, too.

GOALKEEPERS
1) Viliaka O'Connor (Male, Age 30, Jungle Strike FC [Vilita] [Captain])

Viliaka is half Vilitan and, as a result, ages noticeably slower than the rest of the squad. Indeed, Viliaka is the only remaining player from the World Cup 68 squad, when he was only two years younger than joing manager Benny Sanderson. How does that even work!? Viliaka is now one of the top goalkeepers in Vilita, having just won a domestic double and staking a genuine claim for the Vilitan goalkeeper's position before the SFF came back onto the international scene. He'll be busy, but at least we have one player who oozes quality.
2) Howard Howard (Male, Age 24, Yellow Stars)
Goalkeepers in the Howard family love international football, and one has played for a different non-RPing newbie nation at every World Cup Schiavonia has not been present at. Indeed, Howard kept up that tradition last time around, keeping goal for Transpadana.
3) Ellie Lewis (Female, Age 15, Monarchs)
Young gymnast Ellie has been selected as third choice keeper on the basis that she is incredibly nimble and has great reflexes. Whether or not that translates into being able to stop a ball from entering a goal, we shall see.

DEFENDERS
CENTRE BACKS
11) Nega Pilue (Male, Age 29, Garundia Kickball)

Nega is of Garundi origin - a race noted for their unusual red skin tone and more aggressive demeanour. Though twenty years of co-habiting with Schiavones has helped calm down their savage ways somewhat.
12) Roger Lyku (Male, Age 24, Yellow Stars)
Roger Lyku is of third generation Schiavone-Rejistanian ancestry, from when Schiavonia was roaming the world. Being from karelan blood means that Roger is a natural choice in defence.
13) Henrietta Tomasson (Female, Age 22, Yellow Stars)
Henrietta is of third generation Schiavone-Vanorian (human) amncestry.
14) Hugo Moises Winston (Male, Age 26, Petardos S/A Craw)
Another player who is of cross-national origin, being Schiavone-Cafundelese. But with a large percentage of the island being of Cafundelese origin, this is less of an unlikely family situation than his fellow central defenders.

LEFT BACKS
15) Kalko Ramao (Male, Age 22, Aerlo Sports [Semarland])

One of four squad members who have been playing in Semarland, and the only Garundi - these players will no doubt aid the Sloths to improve throughout qualifying.
17) Hannah Tarmey (Female, Age 29, Monarchs)

RIGHT BACKS
16) James Bell (Male, Age 21, Adjurgen [Semarland])

A second wing back playing in Semarland - hopefully they can adjust to the different responsibilities that come with playing in the Schiavone formation.
19) Brian Jones (Male, Age 17, Yellow Stars)
Young Schiavone-Audioslavian wing-back who considers himself less of a knobjockey than the rest of his team mates.

MIDFIELDERS
BALL WINNERS
21) Carlos Cueto (Male, Age 20, FC Jansberg [Semarland])

Son of manager Tony Cueto, Carlos has been expanding his football experience in Semarland. Though young, he has shown the leadership qualities seen in his father and is expected to be a lynchpin of the Schiavone team for some time to come.
24) Hilda Tilda (Female, Age 24, Yellow Stars)
Schiavones often give their offspring names which rhyme. They considerit an honour, rather than something that makes you sound a bit of a wally.

DISTRIBUTORS
22) Jenny Sanderson (Female, Age 17, Monarchs)

The next - eighth - generation of Sandersons in the Schiavonia national football team, and the first female. Expect Jeruselem levels of promisuity at times.
25) Trevor (Male, Age 30, Petardos S/A Craw)
Half-Cafundelese, half-Druidan. But as neither of those nations play international football any more, Trevor has ended up playing for the Sloths, as his family has been living in Schiavonia since Trevor was a baby.

CREATORS
23) Johnny Jones (Male, Age 32, Foxchester Raiders [Starblaydia] [Vice-Captain])

Johnny Jones was pushed out at Monarchs many years ago, and has since been playing in Starblaydia, where - like Viliaka O'Connor - he has aged at a different rate to his compatriots. His experience amongst a young squad could be key to the Sloths picking up a result or two.
26) Tony Jones (Male, Age 21, Yellow Stars)
Tony is to intellectualism what a hard boiled egg is to international football. And, as he's just starting out, he's even less to international football at this point.
27) Wilhelm Leau-Perierra (Male, 28, Petardos S/A Craw)

FORWARDS
RUNNERS
31) Godiva (Female, Age 18, Petardos S/A Craw)

Godiva was originally called Nubio Nunes, but she earned her nickname from riding around Craw naked on horseback. Has a strong friendship with Jenny Sanderson, and their personalities suit each other pretty well, too.
34) Nigel Blige (Male, Age 27, Monarchs)
The Blige family have played for Schiavonia for almost as long as the Sandersons, but are a lot less in-your-face about it.

STRENGTHS
32) Alan Adams (Male, Age 23, Blaze [Nephara])

When a nation is pinning it's hopes on a player they've found in the Nepharim Third Division - his team finished eighteenth last season, though did score plenty of goals - you know that they are really scraping the barrel.
35) Chris Hogan (Male, Age 18, Monarchs)
They call him the Hulk. Hooray for unoriginal alliteration.
37) Josias Lobisomem (Male, Age 37, 46ers)
The Hairy Sunrisian is somewhat of a cult hero in Schiavonia. Coming to play for Craw-based team 46ers 20 years ago, the incredibly hairy Lobisomem still has some decent ability when it comes to hold-up play, and could be effective, even if it is just to frek out the opposition for a few minutes at the end of the match.

FINISHERS
33) Alessandro Schiavone (Male, Age 21, FC Jansberg [Semarland])

Alessandro has been playing in Semarland, and hopefully his developing skills there will help him in spearheading the Schiavone attack. Fingers crossed, as there wasn't a lot of strength and depth as the initial squad went to press.
36) Winifred Chester (Female, Age 34, Yellow Stars)
Winifred's older sister Charlotte was first choice through World Cup Qualifying 68-70. Short of options up front, the team are plumping their hopes on it being genetic. Unfotunately, plumping seems to be quite a fitting word.

The lower numbers tend to be first choice in each position, but if you're picking a team for me, don't be afraid to include a few who are not. Set pieces are taken by the distributor, apart from penalties (and some direct free-kicks) which are taken by the finisher.

OTHER CHARACTERS

Jenny Jones
- Chief commentator on SIBN's Sound of the Sloths and former head of the SFF. Jenny's knowledge of Schiavone and international football is second to none on the island. She is also the mother of Jenny Sanderson.
Kevin Smith - Jenny's co-commentator, who only has the job because his father runs the SIBN. Not the brightest tool in the shed, he can often be found blundering about Schiavonia being a pretty poor reporter. Has his moments, though...

Schiavonia re-started in international football with a population of just 700 and two clubs, but have now expanded to almost 9,000 with additions to their population from the nation of Garundia (red-skinned primitives who have unknown links to the original Schiavonia, their homeland was destroyed by a volcanic eruption) and a Schiavone ethnic population from the former Cafundéu. One of Schiavonia's original 46 islands then emerged from the ocean between Audioslavia and Thatius, thus giving the new Schiavone population - which had outgrown its tiny island home - a new place to live.

Schiavonia's return to the international stage has prompted them to order new kits from our friends at JMC in Krytenia. We hope you like them as much as we do.

Games in Schiavonia will be played at the King Francesco Stadium, Craw (Capacity: 63,000)
Image

The King Francesco Stadium is named after the King of Schiavonia when they first entered into international sports almost 200 years ago. On the outside, it is a replica of Schiavonia's first ever national stadium, but under the surface, there are all of the trappings of a modern sporting arena. The new stadium is the home of Schiavonia's national team and domestic team 46ers, and has been built as a place for tourists to Craw to visit and take in a game as they tour the area on holiday. If your visiting team has a lot of fans, there should be plenty of room for them - Schiavonia's resident population is just one-seventh of the size of the stadium capacity, and people from all three corners of the island come to home games.

What else can we tell you about Schiavonia? The people are very friendly (sometimes, too friendly for their own good, and it can lead to gullibility.) They are incredibly honest, peaceful (apart from the Garundi players, who are noticable by their surnames ending in two different vowels) and play as fairly as possible (e.g. deliberately missing penalties if they believe that they have been awarded them incorrectly). They love a celebration. They live on a small island with a pleasant climate. They stem from a surprisingly range of ethnic backgrounds (helped by some of the "friendliness" and celebrations). And the new Schiavone-Cafundélese population are working to make Craw - the nation's largest settlement, with a local population of just 3,000 but with many well-paid, well-treated migrant workers who must buy in to the Schiavone way if they wish to keep their roles - into one of the top sun-seeking tourist destinations in the multiverse. The Schiavone Tourist Board, known as Visit Schiavonia, are sponsors of the team.

Right, all of that stuff on the form that needs dealing with. Schiavonia play with a +2 style modifier, and you can do what you like with regards to our matches. Although, if there's anything major going on, it'd be nice to consult the SFF's storyline department first. But really, though... Permissions? Where's the fun in those!?!

If the SFF think of anything else worth mentioning, you will be the first to know!

MANAGERIAL STAFF
Manager: Ender Wiggin
You may knock Ender Wiggin all you want for failing to qualify for the last world Cup but in his time he managed to win his first tournament at the Copa Rushmori, and follow it up with a second place finish in his second world cup. All i know is he may not be the greatest over the long run, but if he can get them to the world cup they do pretty darn well in the group stage and playoffs in competitions so maybe they just need to qualify. Now doing that is the hard part, but if they can succeed then the real stuff starts.

Assistant Manager: Mark Tlumach
Mark is the tactics man so when it comes to the long run of winning games he may be to blame for not getting them wins week in and out, but he sure seems to know how to do well in tournaments. Now if they can just figure out how to do well in an actual tournament then everything might be well.

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Xavier Troubador - Fadron Flight 28 Caps, 24 Years Old
Xavier Troubador wasn't completely at fault for the national team losing to Eura in the Copa Rushmori, but he wasn't completely at fault. His goalkeeping is not the greatest in Taeshani history, but heck he won the Copa.

23 - Gregoire Avery - New Capetown Falcons 0 Caps, 20 Years Old
Avery is rather unlucky to be stuck behind Troubador but so it goes.

24 - Temptress Avalon - Tintown Terrapins 0 Caps, 24 Years Old
The new Goalie on the full national team is Temptress Avalon and though she will likely not see the field much as a third stringer, she can be used in a pinch and has don well for her club team.

DEFENDERS

2 - LB, William Bloomsbury - Bayern-Algaer 68 Caps, 28 Years Old
Bloomsbury is the more defensive of the two fullbacks and tends not to get in the attack often. That says he often gets into the attack at the right moments and can be dangerous with the long ball.

3 - CB, Andrew Chesnut - Los Riosa Monstas 31 Caps, 1 Goal, 24 Years Old
Andrew Chesnut is a very fast center back and can get back very fast. He has been known to go wandering in recent years and push the envelope with the coaching staff on what he is and is not supposed to do. That said he is also really good at defense man on man.

4 - CB, Orion Black - Eastweald (Cosumar) 68 Caps, 2 Goals, 27 Years Old
Orion Black is the stronger of the two center backs and plays very well with the ball at his feet. He pushes the ball around and can be an option off of corner kicks. That said he can also end up a liability if he gets caught in attack.

5 - RB, Benedict Broadway - Fadron Flight 68 Caps, 28 Years Old
Benedict Broadway is a very strong fullback and many think that he is one of the biggest cogs in the Knights backline. He goes forward a bunch and is a very fleet footed defender.

12 - Moki Nguyen - Real Old Maiz (Zenic) 12 Caps, 23 Years Old
Nguyen is a very good utility player for the back four and can also play defensive midfield.

19- Jefferson Lafitte - 1093 Club de Atlantea 1 Cap, 22 Years Old
Jefferson LaFitte is a very strong Center Back and could likely push to be the first one of the bench. He could start in a year or two, and many think that he honestly may be a better option then Chesnut is, that said the chemistry of the back line will likely not be messed with anytime soon.

21- Gordon Bombay - Real Atlantea 12 Caps, 24 Years Old
Gordon Bombay saw a lot of action in the Copa Rushmori and he seems like such a good defensive fullback to come on in the late minutes of games. One day he will likely start as a fullback for the national team, but for now he is a great game lock down type.

MIDFIELDERS

6 - CDM, Maxwell McMichael - Knightspurs 26 Caps, 26 Years Old
Maxwell McMichael is the shield of the backline and for the past few seasons he has kept the back for with little work to do in most of their games. He has a Copa Rushmori gold and silver medal and he could make it to the world cup. And much of that his due to his play in front of the back four.

7 - CAM, Xander McDrew - Bayern Phoenix 117 Caps, 54 Goals, 30 Years OldVice-Captain
Xander McDrew has seemingly done everything but qualify for a world cup as a Purple Knight. With him getting older and losing some of the speed and power he once had it seems like he really could be close to the end of his career and it would be real sad if they didn't qualify in his last few campaigns.

14 - LM, Josmer Medici - Sleepy Hollow 38 Caps, 1 Goal, 28 Years Old
The left midfielder has been one of the best players in the last two Copa Rushmori's but he has been all but absent in the recent qualifiers. This qualifying campaign seems to be his best chance to push the team, and with his left foot being ever more dangerous as the seasons go.

18 - RM, Lysander Ying Uing - Bayern Phoenix 123 Caps, 7 Goals, 31 Years OldCaptain
Ying Uing now would like to captain the team back to the world cup finals, a feat that he has not managed to do as captain, or even as a player for the national team. It has now been 10 cups since the Knights last qualified and this must daunt the captain of this team as he pushes to do what his father did for the national team.

9 - Asher Victorious - Taeshan City Miners 5 Caps, 26 Years Old
Asher Victorious was given a strong message last qualifiers by being left off the team. He answered with an incredible work ethic pushing every week to be better and he was called back for the Copa Rushmori and now returns to the bench for the qualifiers. He seems likely to be a defensive midfielder for the Knights and could very well see action late to close games.

11 - Everett Eskandarian - Llara Llera (San Llera) 2 Caps, 1 Goal, 24 Years Old
Everett Eskandarian is a combination midfielder, Striker, and winger. He can play all of these positions and it is rather interesting that he has been put in the midfield list. This could mean we will see him also as a winger late to push the team for a late goal.

15 - Marko Hanoi - Tintown Terrapins 1 Cap, 24 Years Old
Marko Hanoi must have vastly impressed in his time playing with the team in the Copa Rushmori as he has been called up for the qualifiers. He is a strong winger type and could likely see the field as an attacking option and a creative option.

17 - Ansel Bone - Iskara Daii (Starblaydia) 6 Caps, 28 Years Old
Ansel bone took the Copa Rushmori off after a bad injury in the Liga season. Now he returns and much like Marchond, and Victorious is one of the strongest bench midfielders. He will most likely come on to keep possession of the ball and play in the center of the park.

20 - Helmut von Bonn - Tintown Terrapins 0 Caps, 24 Years Old
Having never been called up to the full national team before it must have been a shock for Helmut von Bonn to get called up to the team for qualifiers, especially with other options on the B team, but this likely means that the Tintown midfielder is being given a chance that few others have been afforded during Ender Wiggin's coaching reign.

22 - Emile Marchond - X Island Marauders - 9 Caps, 26 Years Old
With the relative inexperience of the rest of the options off the bench Emile Marchon now seems the best midfield option off the bench. He is mostly a wide player and is known to pepper the ball into the center of the field for strikers to head on.

STRIKERS

8 - LS, Miles Snavely - Kernansquillec City(Kernansquillec) 28 Caps, 20 Goals, 20 Years Old
Miles Snavely continues to be one of the best attacking options Taeshan has ever seen. While he has slightly fallen off his goal a game pace, as can be expected, he continues to score on more than half of his appearances, and with his ability to create for others he is the player that most makes the Purple Knights an attacking threat.

10 - RS, - Peter Wiggin - OAS Royal FC (Cosumar) 36 Caps, 1 Goal, 26 Years Old
Peter Wiggin has continued to go against the odds and prove that starting was not in fact nepotism from his brother, the coach. Now if he can continue the brilliant hold up play that has enabled Miles Snavely to terrorize opposing defenses and score a lot of goals.

13 - Val Valjean - Real Atlantea 2 Caps, 6 Goals, 25 Years Old
Val Valjean hasn't seen the field in an international game in two years which is incredible considering what he did in his first two chances. Now he continues to wait being out of favor, and with a better scoring threat off the bench in Neymar he has proven to not be really in the plan as of recent.

16 - Landon van Neymar - Blacklake Blues 25 Caps, 6 Goals, 22 Years Old
It is a pity that Neymar has played at the same time as such a scorer in Snavely. His play off the bench has brought many to believe that he could push for a starting position but with such a solid midfield, and two strikers who work very well together him being put on the field somewhere seems very unlikely because of all the "better" starters. That said he has been really good off the bench so he can still be impactful for the offense.

FOOTBALL HISTORY

The UFC of Buyan, a civilised and more keyboardfriendly name then the full ‘United Former Citizens of Buyan’ is hardly to describe as an actual nation, but should rather be seen as the gathering of political refugees who have been scattered across the continent of Esportiva and even further. A fine four years ago, the reign from Kazys Portnii was suddenly and swiftly cut short by Henrik Luberg. The consequences for sporting Buyan were as severe as painful, as the sympathetically backward dictatorship was replaced by a harsh and repressive regime. Three weeks after his coup, Luberg closed down all the borders. Those who got out in time were lucky, those who tried afterwards often met a difficult challenge, not seldom ending in bullet-induced death.

One of the least enjoyable side-effects of Lubergs paranoia were his decisions to declare that Buyanese at the ‘wrong’ side of the border – ‘wrong’ entirely depending on your point of view here - would no longer be considered citizens of his fierce republic. On top of that, he forbid any further representation of Buyanese national teams, presumably avoiding further fleeing opportunities. Too bad as especially when it came to football, the Hedgehogs had built up a pretty fine reputation so far. That their success had been based on the excellent effect from foreign managers Sirius Hope, Reinhard Shale and Chris Maarsden certainly was something the new regime did not want to be reminded of. A fine scroll of honour, including two qualifications for the World Cup, a Baptism of Fire victory and two Campionato Esportiva triumphs in only twelve year, reached a swift and painful end.

Besides a painful end for the national team, the domestic Top Division was suddenly stopped in its tracks as well. Even if the competition, according to the limited news that reaches us from behind the iron curtains, still continues, the group of gifted foreign players that developed over the years have fled the nation – if they weren’t expelled. Grand names such as Viztourzys Kolektyvinis, winner of a Globe Cup and a CEdC, Bengtsmark IF, Champions Cup finalist and CEdC victor, and Blau-Weiss Pallstadt, the third club to win a regional title, no longer shine on the international platform. The level would be numbing drab and several magnificent names such as Tufte and Lammerschon have retired.

But the UFC of Buyan, a gathering of political and social protesters to their expulsion of their native grounds, has plead and begged amongst the few Buyanese footballers who were active in foreign competitions and almost all of them appeared willing to play for a new red-and-white. As the Buyanese Football Board officially opted out of the NSWC, it was possible for this group to partake – if only with a slightly different name. Amongst them, they’ve gathered the remaining internationals still active, more often than not experienced players on the wrong side of thirty, and a few other guys who have integrated in the social network of their host country by playing football – not always that successfully. Their brand-new manager Sil Moen, famous activist for the Buyanese cause and author of a grand career with 71 appearances for the red-and-blue and notorious for his clever eye on the pitch, will try and mould this all into a proper side.

NATIONAL TEAM

The Blue Hedgehogs

KPB: 85th with 8.16 points, pre WC74

Moment in time: February 2029

Even if we consider ourselves the sole and rightful heir of the Buyanese team, even receiving the KPB qualification, the official record is not followed in terms of personal histories. Score and appearance counts start back up at nil. According to official organs, it is to avoid legal problems as they run with a different name and they hope to ‘fuse’ them at the ‘liberation of the homeland’. Or maybe they just are pretty poor in counting.

SQUAD

Quite a lot of changes in this squad to those who recall the last side to appear in the WC 72. Domestically-based players such as Erhardt, Raestad, Giertych, Tufte, Wladecki, Prinsen, Lammerschon, Pajari, Stepaniak, Dalmshelf and Knut Dahle are of course not present. The latter, often considered the biggest talent of the nation, even has been murdered by the regime and is one of the biggest martyrs for the UFC. Others, such as Zemaitis, Grobanov, Smetona, Justs, Moen and Castell have retired. The result is a strange mix of experienced and much less experienced guys.

STAFF

Assistant Manager: Steponas Teriouris, 48, Image

Steponas is used to living success on the bench. In the early days of the Golden Period for Viztourzys, he was the back-up goalie for Manuel Schmidt. After stopping his active career at the honourable age of 41 – with a few Kolektyvinis trophies in the bag and playing minutes in the last match of the 2018 title season as heights – he joined the BFB. Initially as youth scout, later on as U17 and U21 manager. He became goalkeeper coach under Chris Maarsden and stepped up now as assistant manager.

Manager: Sil Moen, 38, Image

Some would say that Sil Moen is a bit young for a national manager, but he has enough experience under the belt as player to vouch for this position. Once, in the not-even-that-far past, Sil Moen was one of the greatest names for Jottnar Kallsmudden, a youth product from the town. After a small decade in orange, some troubles with the head coach inspired a transfer to neighbouring rival Tjelberg Forening, where he went on to be a local hero as well whilst building his reputation for the national team – which would eventually pan out in 71 appearances and 12 goals, being with the side during every tournament they contested.

In the latter days of his career, he had a foreign adventure to Levadia Narkiv in Estenia. Not only brought this some fine cash and a Silver Assist Master Trophy, but it also explains why he escaped the Luberg coup. His brother Roger, unfortunately, didn’t and as protest leader, he was executed. It inspired Sil to become active in the UFC of Buyan and we can say he has been one of the driving forces behind the foundation of this team. Sil Moen was known as an exceptionally clever football player back in the days and will without any doubt try to hurt the bigger teams.

When you flee your home country knowing that every second of hold-up could be the second too much, there is stuff you forget. Old photographs. Food in the fridge. Large domesticated animals. And, apparently, the marvellous national shirts that were provided by AER Sportswear.

Luckily for the UFC, Krytenia-based multinational kit provider JMC showed compassion, providing them with the magnificent shirts displayed above.

STYLE & TACTICS

Style Modifier: 1

Sil Moen is the first to like attacking football, but he’s enough of a realist that the bench of this selection is far below par. The only width available is in terms of offensively-minded midfielders, but too many of those might interrupt the fragile balance in the selection. As such, Sil Moen opts for something that probably goes for a 4-2-3-1 for the outsider – even if it’s a very specific version of these numbers.

On goal, the gloves will be worn by Pawlo Marciak, whose years at Crisisbless allowed him to grow from remarkably talented to actually damn good. With Finn Ralaanen, there’s a reliable back-up and with veteran Sallevetter, there is… Well, there is a third goalie who won’t make much of a fuss, I guess. The backline is by far the Achilles heel of this side as only Kristupijas Dobrovolskas performs at the highest level. Most others ply their trade at lower echelons and of those, Puhr, Valminen and Sprav seem to be the starters. All in all, we see these guy pass the half-line seldomly, apart from Dobrovolskas, but it's still a shaky affair.

The midfield might finally remind the observers of the good old Blue Hedgehogs. Captain Sverre Devold certainly has slowed down ever since, but any starting player of ANL champion Barbury Town has class in abundance. The same goes for Espen Knutsen, once called amongst the very best of the demanding Nepharim Premiership and still far above mediocrity. With Dmitri Plovnarov and Sico Ullsmang, there are players on the wings that certainly are worth their spot. The only issues are in the position of defensive midfield, with Mikaucis as a rather disappointing option to work hard for Devold, and in depth. Little talent seems available bar Edison Wallenberg, but the 17-year old son of former star Frederik Wallenberg is… well, 17 and plays in lower leagues Farfadillian football – not star material, yet. Don't forget about Eero Halmiini, who's older than ever - rather unsurprisingly - but could form the last card up the sleeve of Moen when needed.

Only one spot left in attack and quite a few options, actually. Most would bet their money on Damian Balnerii, a sturdy striker who knocks in his number every season. A similar type and at least thrice as cocky is Guru Birikaitis. You love him or you hate him – most of his teammates do the latter. But if you need to be able to strike back against a stronger opponent, especially considering the rather slow midfield, Moen might opt for the young Sam Herbjornsrud. From all the guys who play at top level present, he’s – apart from Marciak - the only one with still room for growth left.

National Football Team of Schottia

World Cup 74

------------------------------
Manager: Jane Gullie 40
Assistant: John Murray 51
First Team Coach: David Chettwell 64
First Team Coach: Hannah Lorborg 39
First Team Coach: Conner Wright 56
Gk Coach: Peter Acheson 48
Physio: Jimmy Anderson 51
------------------------------

Jane Gullie comes into the qualifiers fresh from becoming the first manager to take Schottia to the World Cup finals. Confidence if likely to be high among the coaching staff, who will feel there is nothing to stop the side giving a good account of themselves yet again. It is more or less the same team of coaches from last time round, joined by Regional Development boss Conner Wright, who comes in to work with the first team squad. Gullie and her assistant John Murray have a non-authoritarian approach to management, and have a mutual respect policy in the dressing room.

Team history
Not so much a tale of ups and downs, Schottia's history in the World Cup competitions has been one of very slow progress. Since Barry Gorman took over a side ranked outside the world's top 300, who had just finished WC68 with a grand total of 0-points, the Auks have seen their fortunes steadily improve. The small nation of six-and-a-half-million gave a very good account of themselves under his stewardship and it was in this era that we saw them first adopt their now familiar 4-2-3-1 formation. Schottia finished sixth of eight in their group as they tried to reach the finals of WC69 in his first year in charge, qualifying for the Cup of Harmony, where they recorded a surprise win over Mizuyuki. The subsequent rise up the world rankings saw them finish third, fourth, third in WC70, 71, and 72 respectively, as they established themselves as one of the world's mid-ranked sides. Schottia put in some plucky performance over the years, and there was little doubt that it was Gorman who had made the difference, seemingly able to dig deep and get something extra out of the country's small pool of players. It was also during this period (immediately prior to WC70) that Schottia won the Di Bradini Cup, and that golden generation of youngsters has slowly began to make their mark on the senior squad.

Despite being the one to galvanise the team, Barry Gorman's position as manager became more and more difficult. After a series of wild promises and statements of overconfidence, he constantly succeeded in building up the fans' expectations, and creating a rod for his own back. In the end it was no doubt this bravado, coupled with a lacklustre qualification campaign in WC72, which saw the SFA decline to offer him a new contract. He did go on to lead the side to the knockout stages of the Cup of Harmony for the first time, however it wasn't enough, and as the side limped out after a heavy defeat to Nova Anglicana, it was to be the 47-year-old's last act in charge.

We now stand at the beginning of a new era in Schottic football, and with Gorman's replacement Jane Gullie at the helm, the side have risen to new heights. The aforementioned DBC graduates have swelled the ranks and given the side the push they needed to top their qualification group, reaching the finals of the last World Cup in Quebec and Apox. Gullie's seems to be a measured hand compared to that of her predecessor Gorman, and they rode out a shaky start to edge past a strong Krytenian side, defeating them in both ties by the narrowest of margarines. As third seeds in the group there was no doubt that this was the side's greatest achievement, and was only possible because the small squad had managed to stay more or less injury free.

It wouldn't have come as a surprise to many that Schottia finished last in their WC-Finals group, picking up a single point from a 3-3 draw with Farfadillis. That said, very little was expected of them and they will take some heart from that result, along with some spirited performances.

Squad information
It would be difficult for Jane Gullie to implement haul sale changes to a squad, which only has a handful of top-class players. Schottia don't exactly have the biggest pool of players to draw upon and for real quality they rely heavily upon a small number of individuals plying their trade abroad. So with this in mind don't expect to see too many alterations from the side which represented their country last time round. The nucleus of the team will more than likely remain the same, with captain D'Araby back for yet another stint in goals. The Handon United veteran will have familiar faces in the form of Larry Watt, Darren O'Brian, and Darren Hanlon in front of him. Hanlon promoted to vice-captain seems to be very much established as first choice centre-half, and was very solid last time round. His former Kings Park teammate O'Brian has been in the starting line up since WC70 and that doesn't look like changing anytime soon. The right-back position looks equally sewn up barring any injuries, with 1860 Azoth's Larry Watt firmly pencilled in for another campaign. The biggest question mark still hangs over whom Hanlon's partner should be at centre-back. Gullie has tried out a few different combinations, and seems to be having some trouble deciding between the likes of Gareth Souter, Scott Burton, and Ben Ross.

The midfield is one area where Gullie doesn't have any problems, and in fact, the biggest difficulty is having to leave someone out. The manager seems to favour Handon United's Alf Seggerson in the central role, and she is unlikely to change a system that worked so well for her last time round. The easy option to play alongside him is deep-set playmaker Jon Fotan. The Fadrön Flight man has bags of international experience, and brings his dead-ball expertise to the table as an added bonus. However, Gullie might hand set-piece responsibilities to Seggerson and go with Myrmidon's Thio Crillin in that role. The former Hollin midfielder was utilised to good effect in the World Cup finals, and it is true that he brings a physicality to the side, which can give the opposition something extra to think about. Again their are other options here, and up and coming star Holly Addison is pushing hard for a place only two years after arriving in Schottia as a refugee. As well as the up and coming Addison, there is the down and going Corsie, a player who has seen his form slip further and further in recent years. That said, the Chatswood player is still one of the big names in this squad, and has scored recently for his side in the Emperor's Cup.

The attacking midfield is the real engine room of this Schottia team, and there is no dearth of talent in that area. Eoin Killanen and Kim Coultan are the two names, which stand out when looking through the Schottic squad listings, and it is fair to say that both will play a big part. Killanen was a player who really shone in Quebec & Apox, and the Kingsgrove man will want to build on his success over the last couple of year for club and country. Although Killanen has stolen the show over the last twelve months, Coultan is arguably just as important to the team. The Crawford City star is a good foil to her teammate's directness, and her clever passing and invention means she is one of the first names on the team sheet. Bringing much needed width to the team is North Laithland winger Chloe Rudden, who has pace and acceleration few in the side can match. Although there are other players Gullie could look to, judging by her selection policy of late, it would seem that the former Handon Eagles lass is her preferred choice. Schottia also have strong options on the bench in this position, with Joey Bia, Boris Hunt, and Gaston Avelione all waiting in the wings. Avelione is the country's all time top scorer and while he is not the player he once was, he will still be there when called upon both in midfield and up front.

With Avelione, Killanen, and Coultan all capable of filling in at a push as forwards, Gullie has only named two recognised strikers in the squad. Heron Crew has had an incredible season with his club Port Patrick, and with the loan-striker position presenting itself as something of a problem last year, it looks like it is the 23-year-old's chance for a try out. Mark Allen is also named in the squad, and his strength and experience will no doubt be called upon at some point. Gullie went with Avelione up front in the World Cup finals matches last year, and especially against the tougher opponents, there is some suspicion she might do so again.

For the first time in five cycles, Schottia go with a strip designed by a Schottic designer, reverting back to the nationalised SchottSport sportswear manufactures. The move has come after recent regulations governing marketing and advertising within the nation's legislation, have forced the team to use unbranded kits.

Full Qualifying Squad
The players displayed here featured include those that featured in the qualification campaign. The players listed above are those which were chosen for the World Cup finals. Information below is correct as of the start of qualifying.

1. GK Lucas D'Araby, 34 | Image Handon United | Height:190cm Weight:84kg (c)
It must have been a special moment for Schottia's most capped player when he captained the side to World Cup finals in Quebec & Apox. Since Schottia's first appearance in the World Cup 68 qualifiers, D'Araby bas been his country's first choice between the sticks. After joining Handon United as a youngster, he has become one of the country's most decorated players, with numerous awards, league, and cup titles to his name. Big, strong, and dependable between the sticks, he is one of the players in this side who is a certainty to start.

2. RB Larry Watt, 24 | Image 1860 Azoth, | Height: 180cm. Weight: 75kg
Now firmly established as Schottia's first choice right back, Watt has earned great reviews while playing for his country. The former Di Bradini Cup winner started his career at Marionville, where the first team experience he gained helped him win a move to Buyanese side Blau-Weiss Pallstadt. After fighting his way into the first team there, Watt was recently snapped up by Cenian side 1860 Azoth for a sum of $9 million. Larry Watt is a tall powerful runner, who has a strong emphasis on defence. His reluctance to get forward and support the attack has been criticised on occasion, however he is a solid player, who rarely makes mistakes.

3. LB Darren O'Brian, 26 | Image King's Park | Height:178cm Weight:71kg
Following a fantastic season, where his club Kings Park finished second in the league two seasons ago, O'Brian will be keen to prove that the form he showed there was no flash in the pan. He has been in the senior set-up for six years now, and despite being a left winger, he has made the left-back position his own. There have been a few well-documented cases, where he has slipped up defensively, however he makes up for it with his attacking skill. His pace and ability to support the forward players, is crucial to how Schottia play.

4. CB Darren Hanlon, 25 | Image FC Matovallanen | Height:188cm Weight:84kg
Hanlon is another player who has been on the move recently, joining up with Semarlandic side FC Matovallanen. The player, who started his career with Kings Park, captained Schottia in the IX Olympics and has represented his country at all levels. Hanlon is a very professional individual, who has a great technical ability, and top class positioning. Still young for a centre-back, there is a lot of excitement around this player, with regards to the future of the national team.

5. CB/RB. Scott Burton, 24 | Image Cornellians Height:179cm Weight:70kg
Cornellians back playing football at a completive level is good for their fans, but it's also good news for Schottia. The former Lammerton City defender, now in fourth season with the club, received his first call up last year, and will be fighting with former DBC teammate Gareth Souter for a place. Burton is shorter and slighter built than most of the centre-backs in the current squad, but that never normally stands in his way. With Gullie keen to get the centre-back pairing nailed down quickly, Burton will need to take his chance when it comes along.

6. CM Thio Crillin, 25 | Image Myrmidon | Height: 188cm. Weight: 88kg
Crillin has gone from a back up player for his country, to someone who featured extensively at the last World Cup finals. Another DBC winner, he has won accolades for his performances with Cenian side Myrmidon, helping them to a Globe Cup spot. Thio Crillin is a big powerful, broad shouldered player, who can hold his own with almost anyone in the midfield.

8. CM Alfred Seggerson, 27 | Image Handon United | Height:181cm Weight:79kg
Seggerson joined current club Handon United aged sixteen from Kloithian club Amothsborg Fishermen for a fee of £250,000. Since then he has grown into one of their most important first team players, making his debut two years later. His nation of birth, Kloith, has since undergone a brutal revolution and his passport was declared not valid. Seggerson has now been granted Schottic citizenship winning his first cap in a friendly in Flardania. Seggerson is a quick and agile midfielder, with over 250 appearances in the Schottic Premier League. He is a solid playmaker who can chip in a few goals from the midfield.

11. A/CM FC Kim Coultan, 22 | Image Crawford City | Height:160cm Weight:52kg
From the fringes of a side in the second tier of Schottic football to one of the stars of a team, which finished third in the Buyanese Top League. Coultan's journey from scrawny 17-year-old to full-internationalist has been a rags to riches story. The 22-year-old DBC winner became the first woman to play for the senior team when she was capped in the Cup of Harmony four cycles back, and has since gone on to establish herself in the first team. Small in stature even in terms of the other female players, Coultan relies on speed and agility to out-fox the opposition. Good on either foot, she is best known for her crisp, one touch passing and her goal scoring abilities. Two years ago she completed a $14 million move to Cosumarite club Crawford City, making her the second most expensive Schottic player ever in terms of transfer fees.

7. LM/F Chloe Rudden, 21 | Image North Laithland | Height:172cm Weight:60kg
The jet-healed winger is one of the nation’s top prospects, and no doubt has a big future in the senior team. The 21-year-old has played most of her career in the Women's Super-League, where she had a near 1 to 1 goal to game ratio in her last season with Handon Eagles. Rudden's move to North Laithland has been a big step in her career, but one that she has taken in her stride. As well as helping her side to fourth in the league two years ago, she picked up the young player of a year gong two years running in one of the world's top leagues. This, coupled with some fantastic performances for the U-21s, has seen Rudden thrust into the Schottia starting line up, where she started all three matches at the World Cup finals.

10. AMRLC Eoin Killanen, 23 | Image Kingsgrove | Height:176cm Weight:70kg
Now really coming of age, Schottia's DBC winning captain is one of the out and out stars of this Schottia squad. His performances at the World Cup in Quebec and Apox won him much admiration, and praise among the international community as he scored in each of Schottia's three group games. Now playing in The A League with Brenecian side Kingsgrove, the former Lammerton attacker is one of the competitions stand out players. Killanen is direct, with a keen eye for goal, and with the ability to play anywhere in attacking midfield, he gives the manager important options.

9. FC Heron Crew, 23 | Image Port Patrick | Height:186cm Weight: 76kg
Crew came out of nowhere to score 22 goals with newly promoted Port Patrick last season, helping his side to sixth in the league. He had never been capped for is country at any level until Schottia's ill fated Emperor’s Cup run, where he managed a couple of goals en route to a last-16 exit. Crew is a fairly standard centre-forward in many ways, but what he does, he does exceptionally well.

Substitutes

12. GK Chris Gonzaö, 27 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:202cm Weight:85kg
The Port Sebastian 27-year-old has been forced to bide his time, in a long stint as understudy to D'Araby. Despite performing well in the occasional friendly match, it has been impossible of him to force his way into the first team reckonings. More that capable when called upon, there is little doubt that he will be a suitable long-term replacement when the time comes. In the meantime at least he gets a good view of the matches from the bench.

13. CB. Gareth Souter, 21 | Image Sporting Cenial | Height: 189cm. Weight: 79kg
Since making his debut for Handon United aged 18, there has been a feeling that Souter could be a special player. After leaving the club to join up with Cenian side Sporting Cenial, he impressed the Schottic management team with a string of good performances. He helped his club to some impressive league results over the last two seasons, and has previously been named fourth best defender in the league in the process. Souter is a strong player, who takes the game very seriously. He has a good footballing ability and is comfortable on the ball, meaning he can play in midfield if called upon.

14. CB Chris Okywä, 30 | Image Soessch | Height:183cm Weight:84kg
Despite being Schottia's second most capped player, Okywä has been in and out of the starting line up over the last two cycles, as successive managers have tried to tweak the defensive line. The Soessch centre-half obviously hasn't had the best of seasons, with his club finishing in their worst league position for seven years. However his experience on the international stage means that he will still be an important player. In terms of physical stats he is probably the best in the defensive line, even if he does lack a little refinement.

15. CB/DM. Ben Ross, 22 Image Stvozhaboythuow | Height:188cm Weight:81kg
Ross has long been touted as one of the best young players to come out of the Schottic Youth Academy System. Having captained his country at under-15 and 21 level, he is a composed and highly professional leader on the pitch. The Stvozhaboythuow player is a good all round defender, who gives 100 percent whether he is played at centre-half, right-back, or central midfield. Now playing in one of the world's top leagues, Ross will be hoping to make the step up to the first team soon. Ross and former DBC teammate Souter are often talked about as a unit, and there is no doubt that some see the duo as a future central pairing.

16. R/LB Jenna Koemann, 26 | Image Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies, | Height: 170cm. Weight: 68kg
Koemann became the third female player to win a cap for Schottia three cycles back. The 26-year-old, who plays in the Fleftic League is no stranger to the international set-up. She featured for the Schottic Woman's side, which reached the quarter finals of the Olympic games in Kytler Bay, and has been called up to the DBC squad. Koemann left MPL side Cornellians to join Ludogorets Markovsky four seasons ago, in a bid to get regular first team football, and has since made huge improvements to her game. She is especially valuable to the squad, as she is able to play right or left of defence.

17. AMR Jonathan Bia, 20 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:170cm Weight:72kg
In the four years since Bia became Schottia youngest ever full-internationalist, there has been a series of highs and lows. Once touted as the next Gaston Avelione, the Dahamy born winger has often struggled to live up to his billing. That said, he was a crucial part of the Port Sebastian side, which won the SPL title last season and at only 20, he still has loads of time to learn. Bia has great pace, and scores a fair few goals for a wide man. Despite being left footed he plays almost exclusively on the right, and is more of a player who enjoys cutting in as opposed to looking for a cross.

18. DM/LM Holly Addison, 23 | Image New Belfast Warriors | Height:174cm Weight:66kg
Addison arrived in Schottia with her boyfriend and young family two years ago following Shalumite aggression in her homeland of Arcadia. After lengthy attempts to get her into the Schottia set-up Jane Gullie was finally successful, and she feature sparingly during the last World Cup campaign. Now at The Warriors, she has made the impact most were expecting, providing real drive and quality in the midfield.

19. CM Jon Fotan, 26 | Image Fadron Flight | Height:177cm Weight: 80kg
Now established in the Taeshani League with Fadrön Flight, the 26-year-old is one of the higher profile players in the squad. His form with New Belfast Warriors won him much praise in the media, as well as a vast amount of appearences for his country at a young age. After gaining most of his caps playing on the left, he is now back in his preferred position of central-midfield, where he has the ability to run the show. Fotan is a great passer of the ball, and is trusted with set-piece responsibilities. He also has an incredible shot on him, matched only in the side by Gaston Avelione.

20. CM Gary Corsie, 25 | Image Chatswood | Height:190cm Weight:80kg
On a good day Corsie is a box-to-box midfielder who combines stamina and graft, with subtlety, composure, and a keen eye for goal. On a bad day he is disinterested, lazy and a bomb scare in possession. Which Gary Corsie it is that turns up can be anyone’s guess. This inconsistency has meant periods out of the starting line-up for the big midfielder, however, for those mangers able to get the best out of him, he has been a powerful asset. Corsie recently completed an eight million move to Chatswood in Nephara after impressing during a loan period at his home town club of Marionville.

21. AML Gaston Avelione, 31 | Image Blue Coast 1981 | Height:195cm Weight: 84kg
For so long Avelione was the one ray of shining light in the Schottic national team, and their only real world-class player during some of their darker days. While he is still a force to be reckoned with, there is no getting away from the fact that he doesn’t quite have the same cutting edge. This, coupled with young players like Chloe Rudden and Eoin Killanen's emergence has meant that he may well have to settle for a slot on the bench at points this cycle. Avelione ended a five year spell with Handon United last summer, joining up with former national team manager Barry Gorman at title winning Blue Coast 1981 in Port Christopher.

22. ACM Boris Hunt, 20 | Image Laketown Rangers | Height:193cm Weight:83kg
One of the rising stars of the Schottic game, even at twenty Hunt already has the pace and power to match anyone in this current Schottic squad. Hunt is one of the big success stories in terms of youth development on the islands. Coming through the regional development programme at a young age, Hunt has scored goals at U-15, U-18, and U-21 level. He eventually got his big move to Laketown Rangers in Taeshan, where he has worked had to make an impact. One thing for certain, Boris Hunt will be a name, which the fans will be seeing on a Schottia strip for many years to come.

23. FC Mark Allen, 27 | Image FC Hill Valley | Height:191cm Weight: 81kg
It was a hard battle for the Hill Valley man to establish himself as one of the top choices in the coveted loan-striker role. The former Port Sebastian man was the Schottic League's top scorer before he departed for the Adiran club. If he is sometimes accused of being lazy and reluctant to chase back, he makes up for it with his strike capability, and vision in front of goal. He has been the preferred man up-front for three seasons now, but with a new manager coming in, this could all be subject to change.

National Pool
The following players are next in line for call-ups in the result of inevitable injuries suspensions. If you're writing a match report feel free to include them, but no more than two per match please, as they are unlikely to feature much.

GK Jeremy McNott, 24 | Image Cornellians | Height:191cm Weight:79kg
The latest in a long line of Di Bradini Cup winners to receive a call-up. NcNott started his career at Handon United but was signed for Cornellians shortly after the side's inception, where he spent the first MPL season on the bench. He has subsequently been a mainstay of the first team and earned an SPL winners' medal in the club's first season in the league.

RB Bella Thompson, 21 Image Nomad Brotherhood | Height: 175cm. Weight: 64kg
Thompson is a quick, feisty, wing-back, who lunges into challenges, and is quick to pick herself up after a scuffle. The athletic, ex-Handon Ladies star now plays with the Nomad Brotherhood in the second tier of Cosumarite football, but she has been on the national team radar for some time, and it is well known that Jane Gullie has been a long standing admirer. Gullie has hinted before, that she sees Thompson as ideal cover for Larry Watt at right-back, providing a more attacking option.

CM Jenny McDonald, Image Willox Street Pirates, 23 Height: 173cm. Weight: 64kg
The aggressive little midfielder has been a big hit with Port Christopher champions Willox Street Pirates. Leaving Handon Ladies for a fee of 150,000 five years ago she has since gone on to score in the group stages of the Globe Cup, and pick up two league titles with her new club. McDonald, who has been capped at U-21 level, is an all action, combative style player, who throws all caution to the wind when she plays.

CM Barry Stewart, 28 | Image Marionville | Height:185cm Weight: 80kg
Barry Stewart has been absolutely outstanding for Marionville over the last two seasons, and has dragged himself in to contention for a call up. He is a ball winning midfielder, who works hard to press the opposition, and rarely misplaces a pass. His is not the most exciting brand of football out there, but he is reliable, and comes with a lot of SPL experience.

CM Mark Kelman, 27 | Image Cornellians | Height:181cm Weight:76kg
Kelman is a key figure in the Cornellians Championship winning side, and the dynamic central midfielder has featured heavily for Schottia in past tournaments. The Former Port James player got the nod over a few of the up and coming youngster, as the success of the U-21s side has added competition for places. Kelman has been on solid form over the last couple of seasons, and he combines passing ability with a good footballing head, making him great option coming off the bench.

RM Craig O'Maramy, 24 | Image New Belfast Warriors | Height:177cm Weight: 62kg
O'Maramy is easily one of the best wide men in the Schottic league right now. A stand out player during his side's march to lifting Di Bradini Cup, he has also featured for the senior side, scoring goals in the process. Although New Belfast Warriors haven't been at their very best recently, he is still a key player for the club. O'Maramy is blessed with huge amounts of pace, skill and stamina. He is a good crosser of the ball, but also likes to cut in and shoot, as his goal tally at club level would suggest.

LM Cerys Kennicot, 23 | Image New Port Patrick | Height:169cm Weight: 60kg
Like her teammate Heron Crew, Kennicot was called up recently on the back of Port Partick's unexpected success this season. It is true that the pair of them have linked well this season, and Jane Gullie will no doubt be hoping that they can work some of their magic on the international scene also. Kennicot is a keen crosser of the ball, but she also has a mean hit on her, and has cracked in a fair few from the edge of the box. An aggressive, fiery player - she will be a good option off the bench in matches where Schottia find that they are lacking bite.

D/ACM Johannas Ünterhausen, 18 | Image Real Chinchinhua | Height: 186cm. Weight: 76kg
'Johannas' as he is always referred to in the media (not so much because of his fame, rather, he has a twin sister who is also in the international set-up). He was meant to be the player to transform Schottia's fortunes and skyrocket them onto the world-stage. While there is still time for him to achieve this, many of the more optimistic Schottic fans would have hoped to see him in a Schottic jersey before now. It is no doubt a source of frustration to many avid followers, perpetually checking the internet, Saturday after Saturday, to find he is still on the bench for his Taeshani club. Ünterhausen has been destined for great things ever since he broke into the Döllar first team squad at the age of fourteen and received his first U-21 cap a year later. It has always been said of him that he can play any position on the park, but while that may well be true, his appearances have largely been restricted to the centre of midfield.

FC Paul Coine, 30 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:183cm Weight:81kg
Consistently one of the SPL's best attackers over the last ten years, Coine has earned numerous caps and scored some memorable goals for Schottia. The direct and powerful striker was a key figure in Port Sebastian's title win last season, and he proved to be as consistent as ever in front of goal. Coine is an out and out striker, however, he has played a fair bit of club football in the attacking midfield meaning he can be versatile.

FC John McCormack, 21 | Image Lammerton | Height:186cm Weight:79kg
He has had a great scoring rate with Lammerton over the last two seasons, and performed very well as Schottia reached the semi-final of the Di Bradini Cup two seasons ago. A fast, no-nonsense player, McCormack picked up his first senior cap at the Emperor's Cup. With a long-standing problem in the forward department, Gullie will be keen to see what this winger turned striker is capable of.

Harbour Hill Stadium
Location: Handon, South Schottia
Capacity: 55,000. Including some safe standing sections.

Schottia is a small, peaceful nation, best know for its progressive social policy and whisky distilleries. The country is located in the region of Tyran off the west coast of the Northern continent, and has a diverse population of 6.6 million. Schottia has a temperate maritime climate, with warm wet summers and mild winters. The nation gained its independence in 1866 and has been self governing ever since.

Handon is the capital of Schottia and home to around 1.1 million people. The predominant language spoken around the city is English or Scots, but most of the population are also fluent in German and French. The city itself is located on the ester most tip of South Schottia, the largest of the five islands which make up the Free Colony. Harbour Hill is situated in the centre of the city near the quayside area, and is easily accessible by bus or tram; the latter being the most common way to get around the city.

The architecture of Handon is largely mixed, with some buildings dating back to the 17th century, contrasted with more modern 20th and 21st century structures. Harbour Hill was recently revamped adding a closing roof and safe standing features. The stadium, in some form or another, has been the site of Schottic home games since 1903 and has witnessed some of the great matches in the region's history.

Handon has a huge range of hotels and apartments for anyone staying in the city, however locations near the stadium tend to fill up quickly around match days. There is also plenty to do in the evenings after the games, with Schottia's legendary pub-culture always a draw, not to mention a list of top restaurants serving food from all over the region.

National information.
Located within the Esportiva, Port Christopher is an unincorporated state of the Free Colony of Schottia. The nation is home to just over 1,000,000 people, the vast majority living in the City of Port Christopher. The small country is home to a diverse population of various ethnicities and backgrounds. Port Christopher has an extremely high population density especially around the coastal areas.

The colony was established as a trading post in 1879, when the then, Eastern Ossorían Empire, were looking for a way into the Esportivan market. The wealthy polyarchy of merchants swamped to Port Christopher in a bid to take advantage of this situation.

At the time the Ossorí government came under heavy criticism for their treatment of the native population. Many of whom it is believed had their homes destroyed and were either sold into slavery or died from disease and hunger as their fields were dug up for cash crops. General Lewis Home-Christopher, who the colony is named after, is still a controversial figure in Schottia today for the methods he used in securing the area.

The Port Christopher merchants quickly became some of the richest in what were the beginnings of a Schottic maritime empire, taking over from where the previous administrations had left off. The new colony flourished along with the EOE at this time and was another hub to new enlightenment and developments in science, education, literature and philosophy. The City of Port Christopher became the Empire's second city and one of the richest Tyranan ports.

Squad information
For the first time, since the small Schottic territory began competing in the World Cup competitions, it will be without the services of manager Jimmy Mitchel. The Willox Street Pirates boss had been at the helm during both the last two campaigns, and has had modest success. Taking over from him is former internationalist Jim Reid, who was pivotal in the team's creation four years ago. Reid has already had a chance to cut his managerial teeth when his side travelled to Semarland to take part in the second Trindl Cup, where the team held their own against some much higher ranked opposition.

The biggest difference in Reid's approach seems to be the switch from a 3-5-2 formation to more of a traditional 4-4-1-1, giving the Christopheran wingbacks a shot at international football for the first time. Regarding personnel, there are not too many changes from last time round and their will have been few people surprised when Robert Wessel and James Del Vertio started as the new centre back pairing, or that experienced keeper Carus Laxium would start behind them. Anderiz of New Saint Johns grabs the number-two jersey, making a long awaited debut in his preferred position. While the left back role is handed to 16-year-old Dundee prospect Liam Goncalves, who has shown amazing strength and pace last season as he helped his side to promotion.

The midfield is the same, but just in a different order with Moritz Wessel switching to the attacking midfield role, where he will perhaps be more comfortable. PCSL-Player of The Year, Aredhel Neil slips into his old position on the right, where she performed reasonably well at Trindl. Skipper Diego Bandos and Marinos Thimpodopoulos Ladies star Eliza Rivera start in the central roles, with rapid winger Tim Maitfield on the left.

The switch in formation has seen Franz Müller drop out of the first team, as Tony Uist leads the line in a new one-up-front formation. Port Christopher have often had the problem of a paper thin squad, when it comes to seeing out the qualification campaign, so Reid will be keeping his fingers crossed that they can do better this time round. On the bench, the likes of Müller, Ross Jameson, Dietmar Koenig, and Jacques are all effective players, but it is in defence that they may start to experience problems.

---The Squad---

GK: Carus Laxium, 29 Arla Swans Image Height: 192cm Weight: 87kg
Laxium is strong and reliable keeper with many years of experience in Christopheran League. Not a native of the state, however after nine years living in the country, he qualifies for this Port Christopher side. After a move to FC Padan in Lutine turned sour, he is now Fidran club The Arla Swans.

RB/M: Anderiz, 22 New Saint Johns Image Height: 169cm Weight: 67kg
The Saints defender is on of the main reasons his side have performed so well over the last two seasons. Anderiz has won a huge list of admirers with his cruching tackles and forward runs.

LB: Liam Goncalves, 16 Dundee Image Height: 180cm Weight: 68kg
The 16-year-old could be the next big thing. A fast left-back who likes to get to the opposition by-line, he was a big factor in Dundee earning promotion to the SPL last season.

CB: James Del Vertio, 33 Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 180cm Weight: 75kg
James Del Vertio is widely regarded as the best defender in the Christopheran league. He is a composed individual, and distributes the ball well.

CB: Robert Wessel, 28 New Dundee Star Image Height: 190cm Weight: 88kg
One of New Dundee Star's Wessel twins, he and his brother Moritz are a mainstay of their club. The sons of Schottic North Island migrants, they have lived and played in Port Christopher all their careers. Robert Wessel is a big goal threat coming forward for set-pieces.

CM: Diego Bandos, 28 Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 177cm Weight: 74kg C
Captain of the team, Bandos is a quick and dynamic player who combines silky passing with robust tackling. He has been branded as the poster boy for this squad, and will have to handle the weight of a nation's expectations on his shoulders.

CM: Elisa Rivera, 27 Marinos Thimpodopoulos Ladies Image Height: 167cm Weight: 63kg
Sarrburgh Town have never quite recovered from the loss of Rivera when she left to join Schottic side the Warriors. She will probably play in the most advanced role of the midfield-three, and is great with the ball at her feet, a short crisp passer of the ball.

RM: Aredhel Neil 24, Blue Coast 1981 Image Height: 164cm Weight: 72kg
A complete midfielder, Neil is one of the more exciting prospects in this Port Christopher squad. She impressed fans by turning down an offer to play for the Schottia U-21 ones just before DBC 32, opting to stick it out when rumours of a Christopheran national team were in the air. Her and former Blue Coast teammate Tony Uist, are two of the most exciting players in this squad.

LM: Tim Maitfield, 25 Celtic Noviodunum Image Height: 179cm Weight: 77kg
Maitfield is your typical right footed, left sided midfielder. He is most effective with his head down running at the defenders with pace. He scores regularly for his club, cutting in of the left and unleashing some ferocious strikes.

ACM: Moritz Wessel, 28 New Dundee Star Image Height: 190cm Weight: 80kg
The other half of the Wessel twins, Moritz is very different form his brother. Tall and lanky he lacks his Brother's power, but he is a potent player in his own right. Capable of playing anywhere across the midfield his best position is just behind the strikers.

CF: Tony Uist, 24 Marinos Thimpodopoulos ImageHeight: 179cm Weight: 76kg
Uist was the Super-League's top scorer three years in a row before joining Fleftic side Marinos Thimpodopoulos, in a 7 million deal. The former Blue Coast man represents the biggest goal threat for this side, and is one of the few top-class players in this starting eleven.

---subs---

GK: Donald Gordon, 28 New Saint Johns Image Height: 185cm Weight: 80kg
Many might count him unlucky not to be in the starting line up, Donald Gordon is an agile and fast keeper.

CB: Lara Dixon 27, Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 179cm Weight: 70kg
A regular first team player for the Pirates, Dixon may have to settle for a place on the bench in this tournament. She is a little different form the other defenders, and offers a bit more pace.

CB: Baxter James 32, Hollin Image Height: 196cm Weight: 89kg
A giant defender, James is one of only two members of the squad who play outside of the Super-League.

RM: Jose Almedro 27, New Saint Johns Height: 190cm Weight: 80kg
Tall, powerful and lightning quick, Almedro is someone who can be brought on to influence the game if things aren’t going to plan.

LM: Tom Popescu-Black 24, New Saint Johns Image Height: 183cm Weight: 76kg
A teammate of Almedro, Popescu-Black is one of the most highly rated midfielders in the league. He qualifies to play for Port Christopher through his maternal grandmother.

LM: Rachel Del Arro 18, Handon United Image Height: 173cm Weight: 57kg
Del Arro broke into the Handon United team last season making several appearances from the bench. A typical Christopheran winger, she is small, quick, and agile. At only 18, she is definitely one for the future.

CM: Hector Berg 26, Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 189cm Weight: 81kg
Some will have been surprised to have seen him starting on the bench, however this is perhaps down to his club's lowly league position. A tall, powerful, holding midfielder, Berg is also capable of some more subtle play.

CM: Miller Icacic, 26 Kelsy Merchants Image Height: 182cm Weight: 79kg
One of the more surprising names in the squad, but he has had a great season with his club the Kelsy Merchants. The central midfielder is a tall and athletic player, who is not afraid to shoot from distance.

CM: Dietmar Koenig 28, New Dundee Star Image Height: 180cm Weight: 76kg
Like Berg, the Stars captain will perhaps be disappointed to have to settle for a spot on the bench. Everyone will be expecting to see him feature heavily though, as his skill and passing ability are legendary at his club.

CM: Len Oban 28, Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 177cm Weight: 71kg
Since making the switch from Tralend to Sarrburgh, the midfielder has proven himself at a higher level, and is very much deserved of this call up. He is a great passer of the ball and always among the goals, over the course of the qualifiers he will surely be called upon.

CF: Jacques 20, Christopheran Porty Image Height: 179cm Weight: 68kg
Despite being capped for Schottia at U-21 level sixteen years ago, no one has been more instrumental in setting up the Port Christopher national team than Big Jim Reid. A powerful, no nonsense striker, he has been given the honorary title of squad captain.

CF: Ross Jameson 25, New Dundee Star Image Height: 178cm Weight: 75kg
Jameson is heading of to join New Dundee at the end of the tournament. The 24-year-old got everyone talking with his goals for Kirston Eagles, helping the semi-pro side to a respectable league finish.

CF: Franz Müller, 29 Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 185cm Weight: 77kg
A cultured striker who has been at the sharp end of football in Port Christopher for a decade, since joining from Schottic side FC Soessch. He is a player who combines traditional number 9 qualities with a broader skill-set.

The Little Flowers of Utter Rage play a 4-4-2 formation with a balanced style. They play in full habit but generally leave their weapons on the sidelines. They disapprove of your country, but only because they disapprove of all countries. The roster is unchanged from the Baptism of Fire line-up, though one or two players have changed their names.

(Style modifier: 0)

Roster (* indicates starting line-up)

Goalkeepers
* Sister Nunchuku of Enlightened Compassion. Age 28, holds M.Sc. degree in Dudgeon Studies from the Divine Seminary of Fury-under-the-Wold. Starting keeper, proud of not allowing too many goals during the Baptism of Fire.
Sister Broadsword of Desirable Mindfulness. Age 59, appears to be on the team due to her war record in the Crocheted Crusade.
Sister Bi Kikere, Age 22, clearly an immigrant of some sort and we are not quite sure how she made the roster.

Defenders
* Sister Poisoned Dagger of Reasoned Discussion. Age 23, likes to make sure the other players stick close to their defensive zones.
* Sister Battleaxe of Reasoned Discussion. Age 22, always brings her rosary beads on to the pitch with her.
* Brother Stupid Diver of Lovingly Performing a Foul on Your Ankle. Age 25, the only man on the team, is having some trouble with vow of celibacy. Formerly known as formerly Brother Boot Knife of Warm Humanitarianism but renamed after his sterling record of fouling players from Fisicia during the BoF.
* Sister Shuriken of Loving Kindness. Age 24, known for her long kicks upfield that occasionally reach their destination, and occasionally injure a spectator.
The Howitzer of Quiet Reflection. Age unknown. Has not actually ever made it out of the locker room. Opinions are disputed on whether the Howitzer is a nun or an actual howitzer.
Sister Sabre of Desirable Mindfulness. Age 25, sometimes forgets her approved name and refers to herself as Antoinette.
Sister Light Armoured Vehicle of Sweet Reason. Age 30, on her third effort to complete Basic Training in Nunnery.
Sister Shotgun of Charitable Forgiveness. Age 27, has never forgiven anyone in her life and has no intention of starting now regardless of what some naming committee has decided she should be called.

Midfielders
* Sister Main Gauche of Reasoned Discussion. Age 19, quite nimble when she is paying attention but tends to hear voices in her head on occasion telling her to go to war with England. Not entirely sure where England is.
* Sister Rapier of Lovingkindness and Bunnies. Age 27, has three daughters, not quite sure how that happened.
* Sister Shotgun of Looking at All Sides of the Question. Age 29. Team captain. Quite interested in convincing others that actually means something.
* Sister Alleged Hydrogen Bomb of Quiet Reflection. Age 22, known for long if somewhat risky runs up the pitch.
Sister Dagger of Endless Patience. Age 8, appears to be on the team because her mother is Sister Rapier and the schools back home just can't be trusted.
Sibling Relentless Jackhammer of Moderation.
Sister Love in Her Heart for the Papette. Age 24, wishes it to be known widely that she has love in her heart for the Papette of Dudgeon and would make a wonderful team captain one day.
Sister Halberd of Sweetly Being Your BFF. Age 20, previously known as Sister Epee of Sweatily Sharing a Cigarette Afterwards, successfully appealed her name to the naming committee, not entirely happy with the result.

Strikers
* Sister Kim Jong Murder of Scoring All the team's Goals. Age 26, 6 feet tall, known to her friends as Piglet, likes to hang about the other team's net whenever possible, so she's offside more than her team mates would like. Top scorer during the BoF. Did not actually score all the team's goals but the Sisters are hoping to replicate Amazonesta's success by relying heavily on one player.
* Sister Pepper Spray of Reasoned Discussion. Age 25, 7 feet tall, but only because she has artificial legs. This may not be regulation but no one has complained yet.
Sibling Boot Knife of Compassion. Age 57, 5 feet tall, gives amazing foot rubs, all the sisters agree, so it was totally worth bringing her along even if she is not very good at football.

Manager: Reverend Mother Marie-Catherine-ICBM of Extreme Anger Followed by Ultimate Forgiveness and Perhaps Even a Hug to Show She Really Means It This Time.

With the moderate success in the Sporting world depending on the sport itself, has proved interesting to The Colony and the Ferrets overall. Leading to the creation of many different teams in sports already well known, played, and dominated by other nations without discouraging Ferrets from trying to make their own place in the International Sporting world. While they may never win, that is perfectly acceptable for the sporting teams, with the goal being to do as good as possible to get what exposure that is possible. Then the secondary goal is to learn as much as possible about whatever is possible to either try and do better at sports or just to get as much information as possible.

After the early loss in the Baptism of Fire, there is not a lot of expectation to get any farther in the actual World Cup. But just like before it doesn't demotivate any of the Ferret Team members at all. At least they still get a chance to try and play in a famous event.
