A bit of background on Oisinistan
The Republic of Oisinistan is a huge, genial nation, notable for its anti-smoking policies, state-planned economy, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, democratic population of 500 million Oisinistanis love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them.

Getting around

Air:
In each of the 8 host cities, there is a large international airport. Other airports that you may be able to get a cheap fare into include:
-Bree Cullen International Airport
-Lockgarman Airport
-Four Lakes Ronald J. Lewis International Airport
If you are looking for a cheap airfare, our national airline, Oisinistan Air, have some excellent fares from many international airports. It is not recommended to take flights from city to city in Oisinistan, as it will set you back a lot of money, due to the high cost of regional jets from Oisinistan Air's manafacturing arm.

Rail
Oisinistan Rail connects all of the 8 host cities, as well as many other airports. Oisinistan Rail fares are considered quite expensive compared to that of Oisinistan Air's fares, so it is advised to use trains only when necessary.

Buses
Oisinistan Bus provides a similar service to that of Oisinistan Rail, except a no-frills version. If you don't mind gloomy old 30 year old buses with chewing gum of the same age stuck to your seat, I would advise you use Oisinistan Bus. Their fares are usually less than the cost of a pair of socks, so if you want to get there quick and don't care about luxury, I'd recommend Oisinistan Bus.

Places to Sleep:
There are many 5, 4 and 3 star hotels in Oisinistan. The Thompson Hotel in Ballyacklee is our top hotel. It has 500 luxury rooms, a 5-star restaurant, and a personal Jacuzzi for each guest. But, we aren't all as rich as Bill Gates, so I'd recommend the 3 star hotels. If you're looking to travel on a budget, however, you should try the 2-star Park Hotel in Linnock. It has a package deal with Oisinistan Air, in which anyone who travels on an Oisinistan Air flight will receive 50 percent off the cost of their stay.

There are many low cost motels, but these are often targeted by petty thieves and drug addicts, so I would strongly avoid these.

Places to eat:

There are 3 major fast food chains in Oisinistan: Superchaps Pizza and Subs, AsiaToGO, and Mom and Pop's Diner. Unless completely necessary, stick to fast food. It's cheap, and has some of the most healthy dishes in the world. If you are looking for fancy restaurants, however, the glitzier suburbs of Ballyacklee (Ranla, Drihandocker and Drimnock being 3 of them) have many fine-dining establishments which will fleece you greatly.

Speaking the lingo
Most Oisinistanis speak 3 languages:
-English (national language)
-Oisinistani (learnt in schools)
-Irish (learnt in schools)
Here's some useful phrases in Oisinistani and Gaelic.
Oisinistani: Wuxxi
Irish: Dia duit
Oisinistani: Dut
Irish: Ta

Oisinistani: Mi
Irish: Nil

Oisinistan: Riikdu
Irish: Slan

Laws:

Oisinistan is not a very strict country in terms of laws. Guns are allowed, under a license. All drugs are banned, and highly punishable. Prostitution and pornography, though frowned upon, are very much legal, unless they involve a child, in which case they are very much illegal. Children under the age of 16 can drink small amounts (max 10mls) of alcohol at restaurants, however tobacco is banned everywhere.

I'd suggest that in the first instance, you should always be asking Hutanjia for advice, as you specified him as your senior bid partner. Everything looks okay except you haven't specified the range of style mods available.

I was just looking for a wide range of advice as well as advice from Hutanjia. I will fix up the style mods.

Rugby is the third most popular sport in Elejamie, just falling behind football (aka soccer; gridiron isn't really popular in Elejamie) and ice hockey. Although rugby union is the more popular of the two*, rugby league has a small yet loyal fanbase, especially those living inland. As such, the Elejamian Rugby Federation (ERF) has decided to send its best and its brightest from the Hanson Brews League, the top and only RL league in Elejamie. However, from the start of the 2017/18 season, the league will be sponsored by Hinckley Bank, who will still use the "HBL" name.

Elejamie were somewhat of a mixed bag in the last tournament. Their first game was a mildly disappointing 8-0 loss to Ko-oren; with Kiaran Fletcher scoring a try and Adair Sims scoring the conversion and a penalty. Elejamie, however, bounced back with an 11-4 victory over Patistan and a 16-6 win against Maltta to make it into second place in their group and, as a result, into the Round of 16. However, when they got there, Elejamie stunned the rugby league world with a surprise 19-18 win over hosts (and Group A winners) Quebec, thanks to Tim Mulley's last minute drop goal. Sadly, it all came crashing down in the quarter-finals when they had a rematch against Ko-oren; although Paul Webber managed to become the first person to put points against Ko-oren (thanks to a try, although Raul de Vargas missed the conversion) and Jason Saunders scored a drop goal, Ko-oren still managed to get through to the next round (and finish third) thanks to a 10-5 win.

Now, Elejamie XIII have arrived in Oisinistan. Will they improve on their performance in Quebec? Or will they end up proving what happened there was a fluke? Only time will tell...

* Rugby sevens isn't counted here because a) it's a variation of rugby union and b) rugby sevens isn't taken seriously enough in Elejamie to be given its own competition, even though the national team is pretty much one of the best in the Multiverse (even winning gold at the last Olympics, even though it was a demonstration sport)

Choose my pointscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: Y
RP injuries to my players: Y. One per match, nothing too gruesome and the longest they can be out is two games.
Godmod injuries to my players: Y, see above.
Hand out yellow cards (sin bin) to my players: Y. A maximum of two per match (feel free to give it to two separate players or give them both to the same player, although that last one will count as a red card - see below).
Hand out red cards (sending off) to my players: Y. Again, one per match and a two game suspension maximum
Godmod other events: It might be a good idea to TG me first

 • Remember it's AE at the beginning of Paete AEtomir's surname, as AE/ae is a letter in the Iyilim alphabet. Æ is also acceptable (and it's what I used for the 15th RLWC roster). NEVER write "Ae", as that's incorrect.
 • All ages are taken from start of thread. However, assistant coach Jonny Levitsky will be 43 on 2nd January, Scott Dallas will be 35 on Matchday 3 and, should they make it that far, Diego Martinez will be 29 the day after the quarter finals.
 • As always, if any of my players interest you, feel free to send me a TG saying which player you want, which club wants them and any other details (like wages, bonuses, etc.) you think you should mention.
 • "Starting interchanges" may seem like an oxymoron but, unless you choose someone else to take their place, they're basically the four players sitting on the bench for each match. Tony Merrion and Felipe Herrera can replace 1-6, whereas Vitinho and Greg Navratil can replace 7-13.
 • Sorry for putting my staff in the same spoiler as my players, instead of putting them with my Style Mod and team name. Hope that doesn't cause any problems for you, mate.

With success found in earlier standardized sporting events The Colony has created a new Interest solely in the pursue of Sports, adequately and simply called the Sports Interest. With as much information needed gathered Ferrets are fully proven capable of not just playing but winning in some cases. While the goal is still to get exposure and to learn, a new focus is being put on trying to win now, along with getting involved in new standardized sporting events. Such as Rugby, which will prove more interesting given this will be the first contact sport against, more advantaged opponents. Still being new to the whole international scene, it will be interesting to see where and what this shows in whether continuing to try to expand outward into other sports.

After participating in the Rugby Union World Cup, Ethane is looking to diversify in the rugby world, by taking part in the prestigious Rugby League World Cup. Participating for the first time in their history, the new Ethane rugby league team will be looking to outperform their sister team in rugby union. With completely different members from the Rugby Union game, the team will be looking to expand the fan base for rugby league in Ethane, and increase popularity in the wake of the surge in rugby union interest after the Rugby Union world cup. The team has been training for years to participate in this, and are willing to give their all to carry the pride of the fans at home as far as they can in this tournament

Markus looked at his team just like the few other managers within this Sports Interest had done before him. Like all the other sports they participated in this was a first for them, and this team was lucky enough to be one of the firsts in a sport. Largely untested, only really knowing how to play the standardized sports of international games, this was the time to see what they were really good at. A contact sport such as rugby seemed a little odd to try and take part in, especially given the size of a Ferret, but there was a first for everything, and it seemed to go well in other sports. Hopefully none of them would get hurt, though they all knew that they would have to play more aggressively if they were to even have a chance at winning since the other teams all pretty much had a size advantage. Since this was also one of the sports The Colony had decided to invest a few Ferrets into after the testing phase was over, they also had to try a little harder too. He was sure they could do it, or at least try hard, that's one thing Ferrets seemed to have going for them, also not having to worry about events at home seemed to be another plus.

Britonisea 32–18 Ferret Civilization

It was an interesting first game, they had no idea what to expect really. Though everyone did their jobs as cooperatively and aggressively as they possibly could, they still ended up losing the game. Luckily for a contact sport none of them were incredibly too badly injured, though with the extra aggressive effort put in they were all really feeling the wear and tear. Both Éibhir and Frej were sore all over, though the relief team members were more than willing to help them, everywhere, so that they could stay together as a group and try to have some fun in the nation they were in. Aindrea had also over pushed himself being one of the last line defensive players, while he was able to stop some, most got by him with ease. The other teams did have more experience, and they were able to learn a lot while they were losing the game. And then they would have a few more games to play in to at least try to get better before they got told to pretty much go home after they would probably end up losing in the event anyways. For now they would try to enjoy themselves, even if that meant just relaxing, doing it in a foreign place was still exciting. Markus figured that would be the only thing they could do, the game took a lot out of the team, and he didn't look forward to the fact that one of them could get injured or worse in this game.

"What!? A replay!? What do you mean, we'll have to play a replay?"

"Don't shoot the messenger, guy," Oren Roth, manager of the Abanhfleft national rugby league team, said to his captain, Herschel Parrales. "I'm just the bearer of bad news. No need to get angry with me. If you want somebody to focus your anger on, focus it on the Oisinistani authorities."

"See, this is what I told you about what would happen if Oisinistan was allowed to host the World Cup," David Cruikshank, a reserve utility player, piped in. "I knew something like this was going to happen. I knew it as soon as the second gameday was postponed. I told you we should've made our own bid to host the World Cup!"

"Yeah, as if we're any better qualified to host it," Clinton Aguinaga said to Cruikshank. Rugby league had never been as popular in Abanhfleft as its rival code rugby union, and many league teams had been forced to sharing stadiums with rugby union and even association football teams. There was barely any proper league infrastructure in the Democratic Republic, and the country had abstained from voting in the Rugby League World Cup hosting bidding even as some other countries were mooting pushing Abanhfleft into making a competing bid against Oisinistan, a new nation that had yet to make an impact in the international sporting scene.

"Okay, Oren, what exactly happened here now?" As captain, it was Herschel's role to be the level-headed guy, but even then he wasn't able to rein in his temper when the manager had come in bearing bad news.

"I don't know the exact details, okay?" Roth said, raising his hands to his chest. "But word in the rumor mill is that the Oisinistani referees that officiated all of the matches that had been played had not yet been properly accredited by the Federation, so technically all matches that had been played up to today are henceforth invalid. They're already bringing in Hutanjian officials to stand in for the Oisinistanis while they get the proper paperwork finished, finalized and approved by the Federation, so that means everyone replays their game."

"Does that mean we'll have to play Huelavia again?" Clayton Warren, the youngest player on the team, asked. "We barely got away with the win against them last time."

"The good thing is that their paperwork finally arrived, and we finally know who exactly it is we're playing against," Roth replied. "All right, boys, listen to me now. We've managed to beat them before. I'm sure that we can do it again. We know how they play, and they know how we play. We all know the game plan, but I trust on you to make the necessary changes when it looks like it's not working like it should be. All right, boys, let's get back to training."

But it wasn't to be. Abanhfleft, a team that had gotten used to losing in rugby league, had lost again. But this time, the feeling was different. They had already won once against Huelavia, even though that result was now deemed invalid. And now they had lost to the same team that they had "beaten" once before. It was, sincerely, not a good feeling.

Group 2 Summary (And One Game Analysis) - Elejamie
Elan Raetolil (aka RubiFaman) - Sordclomkill, Oisinistan

So here we are in Oisinistan for the Rugby League World Cup. And, to be fair, I was originally panicking a little bit because I was wondering who we'd be drawn against. Would it be Ko-oren, who were quite the thorn in our side in Quebec? Would it be Hutanjia, who are pretty much the undisputed champions at rugby league? Would it be the Natanians and Nosts, whose sevens team were one of the best in the multiverse (until we beat them 49-0 at the Olympics) and union team... could do with some improvement? Questions like that. But, when the draw was announced, I breathed a sigh of relief. Because, honestly, it was pretty much an easy group. No massive giants like Ko-oren, Hutanjia and Neu Engollon. Just a seriously unlucky team and two newcomers. In fact, you could say that it was pretty much a "group of life". So, let's take a look at our groupmates.

Image
Paul Webber, who scored the first set
of points against Ko-oren.
First up, we have The Fair Republic, who is the only other team in our group with some rugby league experience. Back in Quebec, they were in Group F, along with Uitbregen (who eventually came fourth, losing 12-11 to Hutanjia in the semis and then 6-0 to Ko-oren in the playoff), New West Guiana and the Lunar Republic Isles. The Fair Republic lost their first game to the New West Guiana 18-2 but managed to bounce back with a 6-4 victory over the Lunar Republic Isles. However, Uitbregen beat them 14-8 in their last match, which meant that their cup run was over. Over in Jeckland, they also finished first from bottom, losing to Neu Engollon (who came third), The Kytler Peninsulae and Walamzia but beating Abanhfleft, who eventually came last. Before that, there was New Sideburn they finished last, losing every game to Neu Engollon (again), the Serbian Orthodox Church, Inuitland and Noburu Taiyou; once again, Neu Engollon came third there. And, finally, there was their debut in Darmen, where they lost to - you've guessed it - New Engollon (who fell in the quarter finals), Bloodbath Generation and Jamiha. In other words: they're in for a bit of a tough time.

Secondly, we have Mattijana. I don't know how big rugby is over there, let alone rugby league. All I know is that this will be their first competition. Will they do well enough to make it through to the next round? Probably not, no. Ignoring the fact that they're with two teams with plenty of experience, one of which making it to the quarter finals on their first go, I don't think they've got the manpower to take it to the next round. That being said, they did win their opener by a considerable margin. But that's just one game; they've still got two games left to prove me wrong.

Image
Raul de Vargas, aka El Príncipe,
warming up for this season's
opener against Aloc. Aloc won
20-19.
And, finally, we've got Zadiner. Although I did find out somewhere that rugby league is popular there, I couldn't find any information about any tournaments. As of writing, I can't even find out any information about their guys. All I know is that we were up against them first. And we won easily, with a 24-13 scoreline. I can't remember who scored points for them, but I do know that, for us, Jason Saunders scored the first try, slamming the ball down in the in-goal area on the 5th tackle in the twentieth minute, with Raul de Vargas converting it. He was then followed by vice-captain Sataeveni Renayil, whose converted try pushed the score to 12-5 at half-time. After the break, captain George McFarland booted the ball up the pitch, where Greg Navratil - who came on for Justin Green just after Renayil's try - caught it and put it down on the ground, with de Vargas making it three out of three shortly. Speaking of Raul de Vargas, he scored the fourth try in the 63rd minute, receiving the ball from Chris Broadrick after he was tackled, leaping over their fullback and slamming the ball down just as he landed; he then topped it off with his last conversion of the night. Zadiner very nearly scored a second drop goal at the end, but a freak gust of wind blew the ball into one of the posts; Ryan Pritchard caught it and booted the ball into the stands to end the match 24-13.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, we're pretty much going to blaze through this without any problems whatsoever. In fact, the closest we've got to a problem is probably Mattijana who demolished The Fair Republic 37-5 in their opening game. And, even then, it'll still probably be a walkover as we're ranked at least twice as high as them. That being said, there's a very good chance that they'll be joining us in the next round

Elsewhere, our old friends Ko-oren are drawn into Group 2, along with newcomers Ethane, Fluvique and hosts Oisinistan. Indeed, Oisinistan appear to be in for a world of hurt, as they got demolished 42-4 by the Greenblues. Hutanjia, who have won the last four tournaments in a row, will be looking to add a fifth trophy to their cabinet, although they'll have to get past Kaboomlandia (who was in the last tournament, where they lost all of their Group G games), as well as newbies Racao - who beat them 30-12 - and Mycenia, before they can even start thinking about making a dash for the title. Neu Engollon won their opener against The Serbian Empire, beating them 28-16, with their next matches against HUElavia and Abanhfleft.

So who do I think will win? Well, to be brutally honest, I don't really know. I would've said Hutanjia but that disappointing loss against Racao but a dampener on that. That being said, they could still make second place, or even regain the top spot, so it's not a good idea to discount them just yet. if it isn't them, then I could make a good case for Ko-oren, especially with that win. Failing that, Neu Engollon stand a pretty good chance, as they tend to make it pretty far; not to mention they've got a spiffy new kit thanks to the people who made ours. Either way, this'll be an exciting couple of weeks, so stay tuned.

It was another game day and the team was more or less ready to face it, though there was still some concern for some of the players. While they had indeed taken a lot away from how the first game went, it also showed how much extra effort they would have to put in just to stand a chance of making it anywhere other than the beginning. Markus asked all the players again how they were feeling, and while they were still sore they all felt ready to try again and see if they did any better. There was no reason to argue it for now so that was that and they all got ready for the game they had to face.

New Solviet Russia 18–14 Ferret Civilization

During the game it was the same as it was before, effort was just not enough to make up for experience or skill in this sport. Though with the little they had learned from the first game they were able to use that to help them stay on the offensive more. They had to rely more on passing the ball a lot more and going all the way with running the ball as far as they could. Kicking the ball for a field goal was not going to be a thing for them, that would be too difficult. Though if the other team had the ball, well, they had to work on a way of either trying to make sure that did not happen often, or come up with a better way of getting it back somehow. Since tackling was not something that would be easy for them to pull off, it could be done, but it would most likely result in injury to the ones brave enough to try it. Their communication was getting better though, able to try and anticipate what each other where trying to do was going to be an important factor too.

While they did end up losing this game too, they continued to do their best to learn from their mistakes. At least they lost less badly.

They have done it!

The Ethanian Rugby League team, at the now called Rugby League WorldTrophy (previously World Cup), have managed to proceed to the round of 16, after beating the hosts in a thrilling match.

In a game which saw the home team concede 12 penalties throughout the proceedings of the match, the Ethanian team stormed to victory, securing a winning margin of 10 points. Jacob Varger scored 2 tries, both of which were converted to gain the maximum 6 points, and he was backed up by Lucas Underbridge, who managed to secure another try in the dying moments of the match, which remained as just the try. The penalties which Oisinistan conceded granted 4 free 2 pointer penalties to the Ethane rugby team as well, which gave an extra 8 points, being one of the deciding factors in a game, which for the most part, was fairly closely fought throughout. 2 drop goals, both worth 1 point each, brought the Ethane team's total up to 26.

Oisinistan managed to hold off the few Ethanian attacks, which although there were few, they were brutal when they happened. Slipping through the hard- knitted Ethane defence many times themselves, Jason Murphy managed to score 2 tries for his team, one of them which were converted, taking the Oisinistan total up to 1 points. The inexperience of the Ethane rugby team was shown, however, through the amount of penalties conceded, albeit many of them not in their own half. Oisinistan managed to gain 6 points off the 3 easy penalties gifted to them, seeing them up to their total of 16 points.

Other matches during the group stages saw the Ethane team destroy Fluvique in an extremely one- sided encounter, which saw Fluvique only score 7- 1 try, a penalty and a drop goal. in comparison to Ethane's 30 points from the game, and another one- sided encounter for the Ko-Oren team, which obliterated the so- called 'solid' Ethane defence, beating the Ethane's 36 to 10. The win and the draw has seen Ethane through to the round of 16, after a disappointing run by the hosts themselves, which saw them face 2 losses during their campaign, only beating the untested Fluvique team, albeit by another large margin of 34-10.

In what has been seen by Ethanian fans at home as a fairly easy group in comparison to others, many of these fans have still been doubting the capabilities of the Ethane team, especially the defence, against the stronger teams, after their battering from Ko-Oren in the second game of the group stages. Mnay pundits at home have been doubting how far this fresh rugby league team can go, after facing an easy group, which saw one of the weakest unranked teams get obliterated by all 3 teams, and saw the hosts crash and burn, after fielding a weak team themselves, in all the confusion of the tournament. The only test the team have really had was against Ko-Oren, and although they are 4th in the world, many people point to this as an example of the Ethanian team not being ready for the international stage yet, suggesting that they should have waited another cycle before entering this tournament. Even with all the doubters though, many people, and the team, still have hope that they can upset some big teams, and surprise the doubters in this tournament. All that can be said is that everyone is going to be waiting, tense, for the round of 16 group stage to start, where the Ethanian team are going to have to play the best they have ever played in their lives, when they face Neu Engellon, who happens to be the 2nd best team currently in the world. Many people will be hoping for a miracle, but for most people, they just don't see it as a reality, and see this match as the end of the road for Ethane at this tournament.

Focused

With the confusion of the WorldTrophy, many people have been put off coming to see the matches in Oisinistan, which have been a detriment to Oisinistan's finances and economy, which just recently took a tumble, after it was announced that viewership figures had been a lot lower than expected on many TV channels, including ENTV, which has led to lower payments to the official sporting federation in Ethane, leaving a large hole in the budget of the world cup.

Criticised by many for the mishandling of the World Cup, which led to this disaster taking place, many people had called for the tournament to be rebranded, so as not to disgrace the name of the world cup, which has a long, prestigious history to it, often run by many experienced hosts, who have overcome the challenge of budgeting for these events, as well as organising all the matches. Being Oisinistan's first sporting event in their own country, many people did expect there to be a few problems along the way, a few issues that always happen to a new host, but ones that could easily be fixed. However, in wake of the recent crises in this tournament, many countries have threatened to pull out of the tournament, and find a new host country, so that the tournament could be resumed as normal. While this has not happened, many of the critics of Oisinistan, which now happen to be almost all the participants, have got their way in the rebranding of this tournament to the WorldTrophy, so to not scar the name of the historic Rugby League World Cup. While many countries have remained in the tournament, there has been a notable lack of effort put into the games by many of the teams, with many of the teams not really seeing the point in participating in such a terribly organised event, which has confused many of the rugby players, who have had games changed or cancelled left right and centre, which also saw Ferret Civilisation win their first match, only to be told that the result is invalidated and that they would have to play again, which was a match that they then went on to lose when replayed.

However, even with all the negativity surrounding this event, and all the confusion amongst the players about who was playing their games, and when, the Ethane team have stayed calm and relaxed, not letting anything that was happening to the actual tournament structure and organisation distract them, instead focusing on the end goal, which was to win, and if this would not be possible, at least get out of the group stages, into the round of 16. Going into the game with the right mindset is always key to success, and although they haven't won every match they have played, being beaten by a significantly more experienced and skilled rugby league team, a tournament in which Ethane is a debutant in, they have played every game in the moment with all their hearts, not worrying about the outside world, only about their performance, their game, their win. This has seen them progress out of the group stages with flying margins, winning 2 of their 3 matches by considerable margins, which included beating the hosts by 10 points, seeing them knock out the hosting team.

Tables

One of the main criticisms of this tournament has been the lack of tables for the group stages, which has meant that no one has been able to see how well they have done in the group stages, disappointing many fans, who are used to seeing such tables, which help them to understand the results and the games. In partnership with SportsEthane, we here, at ENTV Sports, have decided to commission our own version of tables for the tournament, so that everyone in Ethane is able to see where their favourite teams have placed, and how well they have done. While this may be criticised by many, as it is the hosts job, and the host may have got round to doing it eventually, many fans have wanted to have access to these tables for a while, and they have felt annoyed that the hosts are not providing these now.
