Death Form: As I could not find a suitable image, I will just describe the change to Death Form for Jackson. The most noticeable change is Jackson's pupils dilate to completely cover his entire eye. This results in an unnerving black pit where an eye should be. His skin also seems to drain of all its blood, and his veins turn a sickly dark color and push themselves against his skin, especially on his neck and arms. Jackson's canines grow to a pronounced length, and sharpen. His hair, instead of being black, takes on a dull silver color. These aesthetic changes are also accompanied by Jackson being stronger, faster, and more perceptive in Death Form.
Personality: Confident, flirty, and sharply charismatic, Jackson likes to be the center of attention when possible at all times. This has gotten him into sticky situations more than once - but more on that later. He is very social, and extremely comfortable in large crowds, actually preferring the chaos to his own quiet company. Jackson quite enjoys parties. He attempts to lighten up situations whenever possible, as he feels best when everyone is in a lighthearted mood. This leads to him being portrayed as an optimist almost in the extreme.
Perhaps Jackson's most defining trait, however, is his intense focus on whatever he is doing. Whether it be flirting, debating, fighting, or studying, he hardly lets anything interrupt, sometimes bordering on obsessive. This had given him a perfectionist attitude towards almost everything, and he works tirelessly towards a goal no matter how unreachable it may seem.
Ability: Death Never Tires: Jackson has incredible endurance, more so than the average Reaper. He can fight, run, or doing other high-impact activities at a blistering pace for what seems like hours on end.
Unique Life Spell: Vitalization: Jackson utilizes life magic to imbue his allies within a close vicinity with a renewed sense of vigor and energy. This spell, regardless of used when allies are exhausted or fresh, will increase their vitality and speed.
Unique Death Spell: Tireless Pursuit Jackson deteriorates the muscles and fatigues his target to a sluggish pace. At the same time, Jackson leaps forward at an extreme speed, charging at his enemy with the strength he sapped from them.
Death Weapon in Reap Mode: Chain-blades, meant to either wrap his opponent and draw them in for a closer strike, or elongate for a long-range strike.
Death Weapon in Death Mode: Reaper Claws, magically enhanced to literally hook onto the soul of the target and rip it out of the body when the blades are removed. The blades must puncture at least half a foot to be able to latch onto the soul.
Bio: Jackson, as one of the living, actually was set up quite nice. Born to affluent parents in a lavish part of New York City, Jackson was considered one of the "cultural elite" of the city. His pastimes included meeting with politicians, attending expensive parties, and making everyone around him feel slightly smaller. In all honesty, Jackson was kind of a dirtbag.

But, regardless, up until age 17 he lived a relatively normal life, for an affluent individual. Much of his schooling was done at expensive private schools, though after a "teenage rebellion" incident when Jackson was 15, his parents disciplined him by making him attend public high school for his last two years before college.

This high school, J. Walter Birmingham Public, had a penchant for producing violent individuals. An estranged boy named Tyler Peckard was no different. Part of a family whose generations spanning business had just recently been closed down as part of a series of acquisitions and eliminations by Jackson's parents' corporation, Tyler decided to take retribution into his own hands. Purchasing a gun, he made his way into Jackson's homeroom on one fateful morning.

Jackson was shot three times in the chest before others could tackle Tyler to the ground, and Jackson died hardly knowing what had happened. He has recently arrived in Limbo, and plans to make the most out of his stay at the Grim Reaper Academy.

Just fyi, unless IJ has decided to change these details of the lore (as is her right), this is impossible since a) collected souls are sent to the underworld and reapers have no influence over them; and b) while you could do this with a Wanderer soul, that practice has been illegal for decades (and in any case used to be pretty widespread).

I really should stop prodding at these apps, I suppose.

I feel unproductive and I missed more than half the day, but I should probably hurry up on making an app since the IC's already out.

I've pretty much narrowed down my character selection to "history nerd" and "30-something professional wrestler". The nerd would fit in more with the suspiciously-young cast, while the wrestler would be much more fun(ny) in combat. One of the wrestler's powers is basically just magical bodyslamming/tackling, and the unique life spell is humanoid constructs running into the fight and trying to grapple. His weapon is just a set of magical gloves. I honestly don't have much for the nerd aside from a weapon (bolt-action rifle), but everyone's really young in this RP so I feel like I should keep this option open. I dunno, my brain isn't working today.

EDIT: Is there an IC reason for everyone being school/college aged, or is it just OOC player stuff like anime influence?

She holds herself to a certain rapport: refined and professional. She can be emotional at times, towards her colleagues, but rather hopes to seem the stoic. She is argumentative, though, often throwing paltry squabbles with some teachers. She can also be unemotional --uncaring towards the living-- as she has long considered humanity, of which she has long become a lost member of, as not good, not wholly evil, but much to do with the concept of evil. Selfish, maybe? that might fit her new opinion of humans.

She cannot deal with guns, having been traumatic ally scarred, and bullet-laden, by them. This can make some cases difficult for her.

Ability:
Mens Rea (guilty in mind)- Can summon, from the pures of the earth, fires which burn of an incredible intensity. These singe and damage anybody who has committed some form of evil. i.e. fire manipulation (with a conscience).

Unique Life Spell:
Guilty plea- Sometimes, even the best of defendants can do only with accepting a guilty plea. Eliza can mitigate the damage caused by an attack on someone, by absorbing some of their pain. She can take in any percentage of the pain caused to her target, but must face the consequences.

Unique Death Spell:
Long arm of Punishment- Eliza can conjure from the pyres of the earth an even stronger flame. This flame encapsulates her arms, and her weapons, until it seems like she controls large whips of fire. Couple that with the large stallion she rides upon, and you have a terrifying sight for the guilty.

The sword de-couples into a variety of chains which rips into the earth until they summon a fierce steed from the pyres of the earth. The chains work as both reins and can be used for combat. (horse is part of the weapon in death mode)

Bio:
Eliza had many hopes and dreams. As a little girl, she wanted to be an astronaut, or wait! no, a policeman, or wait! no, a fireman. She had so many ideas and she could never pick on to one of them.

That was until she was ten. Her father, someone she loved and had been loved by, became a fugitive. He had a graven look on his face that day, as if he had seen into the future. His hands were tense as he read the newspaper. He had "killed a family in WestPointe." He couldn't have! could he? Her eyes could not comprehend all that happened, but he was off to jail with a death penalty. It was set for 15 years after his arrest. In her eyes, he was innocent, as would many girls had they seen something so shocking. That was how she came to decide where she wanted to be when she grew up: a lawyer. She went to a liberal arts college on a scholarship. Her heart was set, and her mind had not faltered.

Defender of the people, Her hope in her father.

A legal firm had taken her up on an internship. She had prospects. That internship killed her. A criminal had been set free from his death penalty after an appeals court had found the prosecutors had falsified a testimony. This was not her father, but it had given her small hope that day. Yet, who went on a blood-filled rage was not the released inmate, but the father of the victim. The father was a similarly hotheaded man to the inmate, and "could not be more outraged that that madman had been let loose!" He came in with a pistol, looked into the eyes of every lawyer there, and did not read them their Mirada rights, he did not give them time to know what crime, in his eyes, they had committed. He shot the place up. Eliza had been hobbled up near the door as she could barely comprehend what was going on. She was right near the door, but she was stone-frozen in fear. It was no help that at this time, the "ghosts" of everyone in that building had been crying long after they had died.

BANG!

That was all she remembered after that (though there were many more shots fired into her). She was hunched over in a corner, as the ferry to the Underworld swayed back and forth. She opened her eyes to a decrepit old figure. "your dead kid," he said with a pipe hanging off his lips, "normally, someone like you'd be gone to the underworld." He paused.

"The underworld?"

"but someone like you is a bit different. Whether you knew it or not, you have a bit special in ya"

"What's so special about me?"

"you're disillusioned..." he meandered, letting the line hang for the rest of the ride.

This was how she came to be a reaper. She was soon taught into the life of one, spending 5 years already, inside the Grim City, and its academy. She can barely remember the taste of the living, barely even thinking of her time alive. She sure remembers it, but she has fallen so much into the life of a reaper that she hasn't cried or holds anger any more. She could remember the feelings of regret and hate that felt normal after death. Now it is normal to let go, as time does; and move on, as reapers help people to do. She is still a student, but she holds herself to a similar rapport as she did as an intern to a legal firm. Refined and professionally.
