Demon Plate (Phantasmal): The result of a very, very rare drop in a dungeon raid, the Demon Plate is what Megumi is best known for. While it appears to not provide much protection at all, the magical field it creates does not allow very much damage to go through. When Elder Tale was just a game he/she thought nothing of it, but now that it is her reality the armor has proved quite revealing and embarrassing. She is sometimes referred to as Demon Plate Megumi due to the astounding rarity of Phantasmal items.

Personality: Before the Apocalypse Soma was a loud and charismatic boy, a leader among parties. Now after the Apocalypse Megumi has become quiet, only speaking when necessary, a little bitter from the change.
Biography: Soma and his twin sister were born to a rich family, living in comfort during their childhood years. They were very close, and when Soma started playing Elder Tale, she took interest. She convinced him to make a female character, and when she joined Elder Tale about halfway through Soma's quest for level 90, they became the Twins of Death, Enchanter and Guardian. When Soma hit level 90 he met others, and took interest in partying with them (Namely, Temp, Shy, and Rak's chars). His sister was still working towards level 90 when the apocalypse hit. Soma awoke, and he felt very strange. He then realized where he was, and who he, or she, was. Megumi has been having a rough time so far, attracting unwanted attention due to the revealing nature of the Demon Plate and just the unfamiliarity of her new body has made her very uncomfortable.

Skills:
Offensive

A ranged Fire-element magic that hurls a fist-sized orb of lava onto enemies. This lava ball bounces across enemy targets, dealing damage on impact. Since this skill if Fire-based, this is very effective against enemies weak against fire. One well-known trait of this skill is that it does not affect allies during combat, making it a popular skill among players.

Fires an magic arrow of flame towards a single target. Smaller arrows splinter off from the main arrow, dealing additional damage, if the target has negative status effects. The number of additional arrows created depends of the number of negative status effects on the target, so it needs the cooperation of allies to maximize this skill's power. Higher skill levels increase the damage of the arrow summoned.

A Lightning-property magic that shoots forth a bolt of bluish-purple lightning. Although it is categorized as a single-target skill, it's ability to break apart and hit enemies near the initial target makes it a pseudo-area-target skill. Serpent Bolt has a rather long reuse control time, but has a short casting time, making it a "quick cast" spell that many intermediate players prefer.

A single-target, high damage lightning spell. Summons a dazzling array of bluish purple lightning shaped like a pentagram, capturing and dealing damage to enemies inside. This skill is considered to be a top class spell among one's in the Sorcerer's arsenal, and its effect is befitting of its title. On the other hand, this skill has a long reuse time and generates large amounts of Hate, so it is often used when enemy threats have been pinpointed. Increasing the skill level of Lightning Chamber not only shortens its reuse time but also its MP cost and generated Hate, so there are Sorcerers who specialize in firing this skill in quick succession.

Large AoE lightning spell. Summons dazzling bluish purple lightning in an area and attacks enemies with a bright light reminiscent of a nebula in space. Those hit by this skill will be momentarily paralyzed, making this the skill that represents the Sorcerer's potential to control enemy movement in battle. The skill's rather showy visual effect is also popular amongst players. One heavy drawback of this skill is its immense MP consumption rate, making it a skill that cannot be used with impunity.

Special Skill. Summons a black hole that ignores Defense. Often used as a boss-killer.

AoE poison spell, lowers enemy Attack and Hit.

Impales a single target using an icicle spear for Ice-element damage. This skill inflicts a slowing debuff on the target, as well as increasing its defense for the duration. Many players learn this skill for its balance of damage, casting time, and utility that is a notch above most Sorcerer skills.

Defensive

Long range teleport. Only works in a straight line and there must be no objects between you and your destination.

Self buff, ice element. Increases your Evasion when hit.

Brightens surroundings.

Short range teleport.

Self Buff, increases Magic Attack but the user must remain stationary. Movement negates the effect.

Buff an ally's weapons with the fire, ice or lightning element.

Increases Magic Attack for 7 seconds. 1 second cast time.

Self buff, lightning element. Inflicts paralysis when hit.

Increases Defense.

Overskill:

Magical Infusion - By combining his prior knowledge of chemistry with his new knowledge of magic, Lucas is able to infuse objects with materials and magic, making them more powerful. The process requires a structure of magical pillars surrounding an altar, and a steady supply of ambient magic. The ingredients are placed atop the pillars with the object to be infused in the center, and the magic is directed in via a focusing crystal above the center.

Personality: Very lighthearted, but has an extreme god complex. He likes to mess with peoples' heads, most of the time via Blinking around.
Biography: Lucas Holden was a normal kid who played Elder Tale in America. About six months before the Apocalypse, his father was called on a two-year business trip to Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan, along which Lucas was taken as well. As it turns out, learning Japanese prior to the trip would be more helpful than he expected. Bringing his computer along with him, he played Elder Tale on the Yamato server with a new character, and soon rose back to his previous level, with a similar build. On the night of the Catastrophe, Lucas was livestreaming the release of the new expansion pack, whereafter he was sucked in the game. Though he knows it not, his livestream still continues to this day.

Apprentice Magician Robes: A high quality equipment for its level, but limited to users below level 30. It is an exclusive accessory for beginners. Giving the impression that one is not yet independent, Johann wishes to upgrade this equipment soon.

Obsidian Amulet: A small pendant infused with ambient magic, giving a large boost in spell potency.

Skills:
Offensive

[Abnormal status] Projection of an area being struck by lightning at a designated point, it's a magic attack that deals mind attribute damage to enemies within range, and afflicts a debuff that decreases movement speed. Effects are spread to the surroundings in several transparent spherical fields. There's not much growth in damage even at higher levels of the spell but the movement speed reduction is increased greatly, if casted by a level 90 Enchanter it can reach up to 80% movement speed reduction. Additionally, because the skill rank determines the rate at which the debuff is applied, it is said that a certain amount of strengthening is essential for effective use.

A special magic attack that is referred to as setup type. Shining azure thorns coil around the target. The spell doesn't do damage when it hits the target, only when the target is hit with a different attack, the damage is synchronized with the attack and deals damage that way. Enchanters magic that has the capability to become their high damage source. In comparison to other normal attack magic, it has the advantage of being harder to heal since the timing of the damage is in sync with the attack of the ally (For example Clerics reactive heals, normally they activate 1 time for 1 hit, and 2 times for 2 hits, but with <Thorn Bind Hostage> it will only be counted for 1 activation. Versus Kannagi, it gives them less time to leisurely put up a damage interception barrier and heal at the same time. If the enemy is recovering through heal over time spells of Druid, usually only the 1st or 2nd hits will be negated by it within the time frame it is active).
The evaluation of this spell is not very high because of its set up and quickly hit thorn 2-step style, and is often compared to other classes like "A Sorcerer's normal magic attack is quicker and stronger".

[Abnormal status] Magic that makes enemies helpless by putting them to sleep. During the time the target is affected they will have a ZZZ icon displayed. Although they cannot take any action while under effect of sleep, it only lasts 10 seconds at most. Additionally, they will wake up if they take damage. However, if you manage to land <Astral Hypnos> on the target again, the sleeping time is extended. Cooldown time of <Astral Hypnos> is 5 seconds, if used by a competent player it is possible to keep 2 enemies completely helpless at the same time. The technical term for this is "MezKeep" or "Sleeping Peacefully Restraint". While it is possible to continuously restrain 3~4 enemies depending on skill rank and equipment, this is very hard due to magic resistances of the player and a simple mistake like accidentally attacking can ruin it.
A person using crowd control build with Raid equipment specializing in <Astral Hypnos> is called a "FREEZER", just like the name implies, the actions of the enemies will be frozen.

[Action obstruction] A single strong mind attribute magic that attacks the mind of the enemy making it feel like a vice is tightening around their brain. At the foot of the target a magic square imitating an eye appears, and a pillar of dark light rises to wrap around the target. When this spell hits, the hit rate of the targets long-range attacks(magic, weapon shots, breath attacks) decreases remarkably. It's considered an Enchanters trump card since it raises Hate and uses a lot of MP, the damage is relatively high compared to the other Enchanter attack spells (although compared to Sorcerer it's considered normal at best). Although you can suppress the enemies allies with this spell if you understand and can grasp their movements, its value falls sharply in PvP and first encounters. Enchanters are no exception to habits, they will want to use a strong spell even if it's only just once. Raid bosses that don't use ranged attacks are rare, so this spell is often useful.

Attack Support

Support magic that raises the offensive power of an allies weapon. The amount raised is increased as the skill is raised in rank. The weapon that receives the effect emits a soft white glow, increasing the sharpness(power) of the weapon. It has a long duration so it will last for several hours with just one use. This is one of the many spells Enchanters should learn and prepare before heading into a lot of combat.

Support magic that raises the hit rate of an ally. The 'hit rate' is the point, so it is applied to magic attacks as well, not just melee. At higher ranks it has a greater value even though it doesn't really show, but in high difficulty battles where the difference of a little hit rate can decide the outcome, it will show its true value. The spell has a long duration.

Other Support

[Action obstruction] Magic that limits movement, retraining the enemy target. Should be used at the same time as when magic DD (Damage Dealers) are preparing to annihilate the enemy with their spells, although they might have more varieties of CC to restrain the enemy while befitting themselves more, <Astral Bind> is the very basic kind, each job position has their own types though the effects will differ.
A strategy where the enemy is kept in place with this ability and the frontline advance is the basis of proper party cooperation, this spell can be used in a lot of situations. When the spell is used shining threads wrap around the target and tighten.

Overskill:

Writing Magic - Using his scribe skill, Johann can write new spells on spell scrolls, granted he has the right materials.

Personality: Though initially depressed at his new world, his demeanor changed over time to be the happy-go-lucky person he usually is. He is very intelligent (and he knows it), as well as an excellent strategist.
Biography: Encountering Shiroe on his first day playing Elder Tale in Japan on their family's trip, he decided to strive after being him. He earned many of Shiroe's skills, got as many of his items as he could, and all-around tried to be him. After the Collapse, Johann teamed up with Ardux, his brother, and they set off together on an adventure of survival. Of course, with the two of them being very squishy characters, they ended up running away wildly more times than they won a battle.

Shadow Armor: An Artifact-class set of light armor, the armor is highly sought after for those who specialize in ranged weaponry. With the addition of buffs to accuracy and movement, the armor also has an ability to allow users to blend in with his or her surroundings easier, making it a good tool to use while ambushing monsters.

Personality: A sarcastic guy who tries to keep things as lighthearted as possible. While he would rather sit back and relax, he'll do whatever someone asks him to do, whether it's going on a raid, completing a quest, or simply helping out whoever needs it, albeit you won't miss out on his complaining. He cares a lot about those who he's close to, and when push comes to shove, will stand by them to the end.
Biography: The son of an American mother and a Japanese father, Austin has spent most of his life getting accustomed to all types of cultures and people. Originally born in the United States, his family moved to Tokyo after his father's parents became ill when he was 14. When he began to go to high school, Austin felt like an outsider when it came to the culture of Japan. What helped him get through, however, was him joining his school's Kyūdō club. There he made plenty of friends, who would always tease him on his obvious American accent in Japanese. This teasing normally caused Austin to swear at his friends in English, which made them laugh even harder. In his second year of high school, a friend recommended Austin to try and play an MMORPG called Elder Tales. For the next year, Austin would play this game often during his free time, and eventually doing raids with other members. It was when he preparing for another late-night raid when the Apocalypse happened, and Austin was dragged into the new world.
RP Example:

Edward was torn. His current opponent had now doubled his strength. Although with their combined strength Cedric and Edward could eventually whittle him down, the sight of Haruna being wounded made Edward's blood boil. His next move could literally mean life or death of his comrades. It was then when Edward decided that the situation called for something dire. Something Edward had hoped he wouldn't have had to use.

Throwing a dagger at the warlock in order to distract him, he reached into an inner pocket that was well hidden. Inside his pocket, inside a seal capsule, rested a small leaf. To the casual observer, it wouldn't look like anything special. Edward was fond of chewing on several different varieties of leaves, so if one would manage to find this one, one would imagine it to be simply a rarer flavor of leaf or something along those lines. However, it was not. In fact, it was anything besides ordinary.

Cut from the stem of a Sinner's Lullaby flower, in most normal situation contact with the juices that flowed within could kill 100 men with ease. In fact, normal use of the flower was for high-quality poisons. What was unknown to all except top Ana-Ga agents, however, was that if correctly blessed by an elven priest, the leaf's juices would have a drastic effect on the user. With the ability to increase its users reaction time, strength, and speed by two-fold, it allowed its user surpass physical feats that to most would be unthinkable.

There was a catch, however. The effects lasted approximately 3 minutes long, meaning its use was limited. Another drawback was the immense physical drain that would occur after the 3 minutes transpired. For someone trained in its uses, the results normally resulted in a comatose-like state for a few hours. To someone who wasn't trained, it normally resulted in death. This meant that it was a last ditch measure, and something that should only be used in the most severe of situations.

Right now, was one of those.

Braking the capsule in half, Edward put the leaf in the back of his mouth and bit down, all in one solid motion. Immediately, the effects began to be noticeable for Edward. Time seemed to go about 3/4 of it's normal speed. Although it wasn't a huge difference, it was a massive improvement for Edward. He was able to see the movements of his current opponent in rapid time, and was able to block his incoming strikes. After his parrying, he unleashed a rapid series of strikes against the man's barrier.

He was heeding Haruna's words, and was determined to keep up the strikes against the man. Striking as fast his body would allow, his powerful strikes sent magical sparks flying as he whittled away the man's barrier. The man reacted to him, and slashed at him. This was exactly what he wanted to happen, as Cedric proceeded to strike a hard blow to the man's back as Edward barely dodged the blade by an inch, close enough to feel his skin burning as the magically enhanced blade passed his face.

Although the barrier had protected him from actual harm, a bright light signaled that the barrier had been broken. Now it was up to Cedric to finish him off. Edward ran into a woman armed with a spear on his way up to Garik, but he lucked out and managed to surprise her with with a sudden kick that sent her flying back down into the bowels of the ship where she had came from.

Looking ahead, he saw Haruna struggling to keep up with Garik. The man was a fine swordsman, there was no doubt. In a normal fight between the two, the odds of either of them winning was 50/50. However, with the help of the effects of Sinner's Lullaby, the odds were tipped ever so slightly in Edward's favor. As the man swung his sword once again at Haruna, Edward managed to deflect it with his own and pushed Garik away from Haruna. Stepping in between the two, Edward decided to respond to his own friend.

"Aye, the ladies on here are quite enjoyable. Especially this lass behind me. But heed my words when I tell you this, they're way too much of a pain in the ass for you to deal with."

With that, Edward once again was on the offensive as each of his strikes, now enhanced, began to wear down on Gariks defenses.

Personality: He acts like he's in everything for the money and thrill of battle, but he's been known to help out the little guy from time to time while stating boredom or loot drops as his motive. While he's still a thrill seeker who enjoys luxury he does have a conscience.

Biography: Kano lived a fairly ordinary life before the Catastrophe. He was attending college at the time, but his grades weren't the best and nothing really interested him. After being trapped in the world of Elder Tales, he was quite angry and confused at first. So, in a fit of anger he stormed out the gate of Akihabara and started taking swings at whatever he saw first. That's when he first started experiencing the pure thrill of fighting in this new world, and he couldn't get enough of it. Soon he was running around slaying anything he could get his hands on. This fervor of combat led to him ascending from his original spot at level 64 up to 80 very quickly. Along the way he found a knack for PKing those who he disliked along with enjoying selling his skills to the highest bidder. He soon gained a reputation for his work and many began to both fear and seek him out for their needs.
