In a shock announcement, the Nobreloen Worldvision Committee announced the end of Nobreloen's bid to host Worldvision 43.
The Nobreloen Worldvision Committee chairman, Ardus Sorman-Pau, said, "the Committee has failed to find a suitable venue to host the Worldvision Song Contest. Our preferred venue, the Haakon Concert Hall, is unavailable, and the Globen Arena as well as the Elkean National Stadium have ongoing events that will clash with the time period."
When asked about the possibility of allowing its sister city, Arlnonsen, to continue on with the bid, Sorman-Pau's response was that "Arlnonsen would be hosting the Expo on that particular month, and will not have enough accommodation, as well as space to host both large events at once."
While the official stance of the NWC has always been that of a clash, Worldvision insiders think that there is more to meets the eye. Alyssa Neumann, a Worldvisionologist, said that "it is probable that Nobreloen has not had gotten another city to co-host the Worldvision Song Contest, and it is no wonder why. Previous attempts to do so have fared not as well as single city hosts. Furthermore, the tighter funding, as well as the inability for Nobreloen to sponsor as much as they would during the WV36 bid, would be a major factor as well."
Neumann added that "it is also probable the NWC was expecting to have an easy bid, but probably pulled out rather than waste more money campaigning as Kalosia and its bid city, Monterra, joined the bid contest. It is also probable Talvezout may put up a killer bid and that the NWC see no reason to waste more effort."
However, Neumann is optimistic. She believes that more must meet the eye, given the timing of the withdrawal of the Nobreloen bid and the confirmation of the Kalosian bid. "I would not be surprised if RTVK (the Kalosian broadcaster), Elktel (Elkean Telecommunications) and IBC (Independent Broadcasting Authority) would have had discussed and formed a joint bid in Monterra to ward off Talvezout's bid. After all, it would have dramatically lowered the cost of hosting for both the Elkeans and the Kalosians, yet benefitting both parties.
When asked about the rumours about a joint bid, Arden Sorman-Pau declined to comment.
