The CBA would like to remind all participating nations of the tournament regulations:
The 30 teams will be seeded and drawn into five groups of six, playing each other once. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the second round, as will the two best third-placed teams.
The remaining three third-placed teams, as well as the next 13 teams with the best records (i.e. only the teams with the two worst records will be excluded), will move on to play a direct knockout single-elimination Plate competition. This is to give these teams more exposure to international cricket [but these games will have no bearing on world T20 ranks].
The draw pots are as follows:
Two points will be awarded for a win and one point for a tie. Group stage tiebreakers are as follows: points, wins, head-to-head result(s) [points, wins], net run rate, head-to-head net run rate.
If a knockout match is tied, the winner will be decided by a Super Over, scorinated using a modified xkoranate cricket file. If there is still an unlikely tie, whichever side lost fewer wickets in the match will be the winner. If the sides are still level, a coin toss will decide the winner.
The Decision Review System will not be in use.
