In Character Information

The Federated Isles of The Sarian, The Sarian Federation or simply The Sarian is an archipelago located in Esportiva. The archipelago, which has an area of 47,000 square miles (122,000 km²), comprises Isle Saria, Isle Regis, Isle Kensingtea, Isle Oakhurst and many other smaller islands. Each Island contains it's own unicameral legislative body, with the countries national assembly taking responsibility for its defence, finance and foreign affairs. The islands' capital is Lavington on Isle Regis.

The population, recorded at 56,855,870 in 2198, primarily consists of native Sari, although other nationalities include Yttribians, Felixian and Lojish. The predominant and official language is Sarian English. Other widely spoken languages include Spanish, French, Lojish and Norwegian.

The islands lie on the boundary of the subarctic and temperate maritime climate zones with both major islands having mountain ranges reaching to 46,000 feet (14,000 m). The islands are home to large bird populations, although many no longer breed on the main islands because of the effects of introduced species. Major economic activities include fashion, oil exploration, tourism, and sheep farming with an emphasis on high-quality wool exports.

Geography

The Sarian has a land area of 47,000 square miles (120,000 km2) and a coastline estimated at 8000 miles (13,000 km). The islands are predominantly mountainous and hilly, with the major exception the depressed Beckwith Plains (a peninsula forming the southern part of Isle Regis). The islands are continental crust fragments resulting from a break-up that began 130 million years ago. The islands are located in the Sarian Sea, and shares no land borders.

The climate of the islands is cold, windy and humid maritime. Variability of daily weather is typical throughout the archipelago. Rainfall is common over half of the year, averaging 610 millimetres (24 in) in Lavington, and sporadic snowfall occurs nearly all year. The temperature is generally between 11.1 and −21.1 °C in Lavington; strong westerly winds and cloudy skies are common and although numerous storms are recorded each month, conditions are normally calm.

Politics

The Sarian is a constitutional republic with a parliamentary system of government, composed of the President of The Sarian and the National Assembly, The Senate and Legislative Assembly. Presidential Palace is the official residence of the President, whilst the National Assembly meets at the Lavington Guildhall in Lavington, Isle Regis.

The President serves as head of state, and is elected for a four-year term and may be re-elected once. The President is primarily a figurehead, but is entrusted with certain constitutional powers with the advice of the Executive Council. The office has absolute discretion in some areas, such as referring a bill to the Supreme Court for a judgement on its constitutionality. Katherine Hauge is the current President of The Sarian, having been first elected in 2198 and re-elected in 2202.

The Chief Executive serves as the head of government and is appointed by the President upon the nomination of the Legislative Assembly. The Chief Executive is generally the leader of the political party that gains the most seats in the general elections. Michael Bryan has been the Chief Executive since 2198, first at the head of a Progressive Union and Oakhurst First government, and then at the head of a rainbow coalition between the Progressive Union, Oakhurst First, Liberal Peoples' Party, Kensingtea Democratic Party and One Nation.

The Senate is composed of 100 members, elected using the d'hondt method of proportional representation in provincial wide districts alongside separate districts for the cities of Chippenham and Lavington. The Legislative Assembly has 300 members, elected in single member constituencies using the Instant Run-off Vote method.

The Government is represented by the Executive Council, which can have no more than twenty members. No more than two members may be from the Senate and both the Chief Executive and Finance Executive must be from the Legislative Assembly. The National Assembly serves a term of four years, and is dissolved on the first Thursday of July in the year of dissolution. The current government is a rainbow coalition between the Progressive Union, Oakhurst First, Liberal Peoples' Party, Kensingtea Democratic Party and One Nation, who hold a majority of three in the Legislative Assembly, though they do not hold a majority in the Senate.

Devolved Administrations

The Sarian is a federation composed of fourteen Provinces, two Metropolitan Districts and one Autonomous Territory. Provinces have autonomous administrations, collect their own taxes and receive a share of taxes collected by the Federal government. They have a governor and a unicameral legislative body elected directly by their voters. They also have independent Courts of Law for common justice. Criminal and civil laws can be voted by only the National Assembly and are uniform throughout the country.

The states and the metropolitan districts may be grouped into two regions, East and West. The regions are merely geographical, not political or administrative divisions, and they do not have any specific form of government. Although defined by law, the regions are useful mainly for statistical purposes, and also to define the distribution of federal funds in development projects.

Law

The Sarian has a common law legal system with a written constitution that provides for a parliamentary democracy. The court system consists of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the High Court, the Provincial Court and the District Court, all of which apply the law of The Sarian. Trials for serious offences must usually be held before a jury. The High Court and the Supreme Court have authority, by means of judicial review, to determine the compatibility of laws and activities of other institutions of the state with the constitution and the law. Except in exceptional circumstances, court hearings must occur in public.

The Sarian Police Force is responsible for all aspects of civil policing, both in terms of territory and infrastructure. It is headed by the Police Commissioner, who is appointed by the Government. Most uniformed members do not routinely carry firearms. Standard policing is traditionally carried out by uniformed officers equipped only with a baton and pepper spray.

The Military Police is the corps of The Sarian Land Army responsible for the provision of policing service personnel and providing a military police presence to forces while on exercise and deployment. In wartime, additional tasks include the provision of a traffic control organisation to allow rapid movement of military formations to their mission areas. Other wartime roles include control of prisoners of war and refugees.

Economy

The economy of The Sarian is amongst the highest in Esportiva by both GDP and GDP per capita. The unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in 2200, and inflation was last calculated at 1.2 percent rate in 2200. Based on the 2200 data, the islands have a high Human Development Index of 0.74 but a low Gini coefficient for income inequality. The local currency is the Imperia, which is made up of 100 pence.

Economic development was advanced by ship resupplying and sheep farming for high-quality wool, although synthetic fibres and ranch underinvestment hurt the sheep-farming sector, the government established a major revenue stream with the establishment of an exclusive economic zone and the sale of fishing licenses to "anybody wishing to fish within this zone". Recently, the islands' economic activity has increasingly focused on oil field exploration and tourism.

The cities of Chippenham and Gorgona are the centre of The Sarian's economic focus, with an increase in population as workers migrate from rural areas. Fear of dependence on fishing licences and threats from overfishing, illegal fishing and fish market price fluctuations increased interest on oil drilling as an alternative source of revenue. Development projects in education and infastructure have been funded by the government.

The Primary Sector is the largest employer, with agriculture, the fishing industry and oil exploration accounting for almost a third of national GDP. A sharp increase in tertiary and quaternary sector employment has occurred over the past twenty years, and the sectors looks to overtake the primary sector in the next decade.

Here is the Gregoryisgoidstan soccer team's roster. Our team is nicknamed the Foot Slaves. Our style modifier is -5

Coach: Horse Beater KFIU9140
Assistant Coaches: Slave Beater 8AUSUJA and Cheese Police PX010A0ZX

Gregoryisgodistani names have the title first, which is usually whatever job they have. Then comes either the government ID sequence (for commoners) or the name (for government VIP's.) If that is the same, they are the same person even if the title is different. However, government VIPs can change their name whenever they want.

All players play domestically in the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League except as noted. Only government VIPs are permitted to play club soccer outside Gregoryisgodistan. All clubs are accurate as of the last UICA cycle.

Lineup:

GK Prune Farmer 3818F - Prune Farmers FC (Age 21)
DL Police Agent Jorge Warlord - FC 17 June (Age 28)
DC Enemy Crusher Fatty Footy - AC Enemy Crushers (Age 23)
DC Prune Farmer HUXU88238ASF - Prune Farmers FC (Age 24)
DR Slave Catcher I913AFBSBFI239 - Police Squad (Age 26)
DMC History Teacher CZDE9745 - Coastal Soccer Club (Age 25)
ML Soldier 0EDCK13DHI - Military FC (Age 24)
MR Prune Farmer 913881 - FC 17 June (Age 32)
OMC Guy Who Cleans Up Behind The Elephant at the Circus P0120AZNNAU - FC 17 June (Age 23)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Xylocrap Notatypo - FC 17 June (Age 19)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Death to San Jose Guayabal -Winnipeg United (Quebec) (Age 29)

Bench:

GK TV Repairman 99SFIDSF - November 5 SC (Age 20)
GK Youth IKDUCHALAD - Coastal Soccer Club (Age 15)
DL/DC Youth XILE42 - FC 17 June (Age 17)
DC Prune Farmer LISHERWIZE - Prune Farmers FC (Age 20)
DC Police Officer YSHERKOW91239 - Police Squad (Age 26)
DR Slave Beater YUSEAXA - FC 17 June (Age 23)
ML Hacker Fred'); DROP TABLE Rosters;-- - Rouyn-Noranda Coal Diggers FC (Quebec) (Age 25)
ML/MR Pervert Chaser KIS9DLLMZMAABDB - Missile Minders (Age 29)
MC/OMC/DMC Slave Beater SUAXMC91 - FC 17 June (Age 25)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe - Real Campo Grande (Valladares) (Age 26)
FW Soccer Captain Laredo Potato - London FC (Quebec) (Age 32)

Notes: For the first time in a long time, Soccer Captain Laredo Potato will not be in the regular lineup. His skills are in decline as evidenced by his poor showing at World Cup 72, and he is no longer in the starting lineup. Obviously he no longer is captain either.... Youth IKDUCHALAD is the youngest player ever to be named to a Gregoryisgodistani senior squad, but as the third-string goalkeeper, it is unlikely he will ever play. Indeed, behind two young goalkeepers on the depth chart, he may never play.... This is a very young back line as three of the four starters (plus the starting defensive midfielder) retired following World Cup 72.... Soldier 0EDCK13DHI is one of two members of Military FC not to be killed in the Great War, mainly because he was playing with the national team.

OOC: If you don't get the hacker reference, see this comic. If you still don't get it, entering that name as a database input in certain programming languages will delete all the rosters from the file. Feel free to RP this crashing your computers or something like that.

Uniforms (by Libertad Sportswear):
Image

From left to right, our home kit, our away kit, and our third kit (in case of clash.)

Home games will be played at Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, the newly rebuilt national stadium in Capital District. It was rebuilt following the Wolfopian terrorist attack (OOC: a false flag by Gregoryisgodistan's government) and seats 175,617. It is a guaranteed sellout for every game since people will be forced to attend if it does not sell out.

These crimes are punishable by death in Gregoryisgodistan. While we are somewhat more lenient for foreigners, if you flagrantly violate them while in Gregoryisgodistan you will be punished severely. Probably fatally. So don't do it. As an example of what is flagrant and what isn't, farting quietly or privately will be overlooked if you are a foreigner, but holding a "Who can have the loudest fart" contest in public will get all the farters executed.

RP Permissions: Basically, do whatever you want but expect reciprocation. If you card my players, I'll card yours. If you kill my players, I'll kill yours. Just don't kill Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state and alleged deity. Also, if you are going to refer to my nation by a different name for IC reasons (like Gregoryisnotgodistan) please either TG me or leave an OOC note saying you are referring to Gregoryisgodistan. I frequently search for mentions of my nation, but if it's not mentioned by name, that doesn't help. So either mention it by name in an OOC note or TG me to give me a heads up. You don't need to wait for permission with the TG, but please send it so I can respond to the RP. Also, striking out the "isgod" part (as in Gregoryisgodistan) causes it to not show up on the search, so this will not fulfill the notification requirement. However, feel free to use that style as long as you either mention me by name without the strikethrough in the same post or TG me to let me know about the post. And don't flagrantly violate the laws of Gregoryisgodistan while in Gregoryisgodistan and expect to get away with it. Taunting us with chants of "coconut" or shirtless fans while we are playing away or at neutral sites is fine and encouraged, but if you try it in Gregoryisgodistan, those fans are probably going to die. Painfully. Which is fine by me if it’s OK with you. TG me if you have questions as to what is flagrant and what isn’t. Also, no completely unrealistic scoring events such as 80 meter goals.
Gregoryisgodistan, population 75,000,000. All citizens are required to worship Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state, as a deity.

Imperial Albaie National Team

Finally for the first time since the war Albaie has regained it's place in international football with the 88th ranking in international football after a mediocre World Cup qualifying campaign and a average Cup of Harmony run. William Dubrack Dubrackson leads the team out for another tournament hoping for the international teams first success. Duke Arthur Sportern and Earl Edward Mercer continue their interim stint in the managerial dugout with Vincent Debren The Elder still in a coma inside hospital. Deberen has though shown signs of progress and people still hope for his recovery which doctors are still unable to predict.

Earl Mark Deberen after a bad stint in the managerial dugout at the beginning of the tournament decided to go on sabbatical to recharge his managerial batteries before an eventual return. This move has been supported by the Emperor and the IAFA. Duke Arthur Sportern is remaining in control for the Campionato Esportiva but has been tipped to himself stand down and let Mark resume his control over the national team.

The Emperor and the Lord Imperial both keen supporters of returning Albaie to it's old status as one of the rising forces in international football and so they have been investing heavily into training facilities for the international team and even heavier into grass roots football to increase the importance of the national game.

The team is exactly the same as the World Cup Qualifying Squad as despite threats to drop players both Sportern and Mercer agreed that a Cup of Harmony placement and fourth in the group was the most they were expecting before the qualifiers so despite the early blip in performance the team remain the same except for Blackeep who is replaced by Walter Vont due to the former's injury.

Staff

Count Vincent Deberen The Elder LCOTIO KOTB -Manager. Deberen Albaie's only manager in the recent Multiverse Era has lead our team to great heights during the Campionato Esportiva but the recent qualification campaign has besmirched his record. Hopefully Deberen can rebuild the team and lead it back to its former glory. Deberen also managers Dubrack's Town Celtic the Imperial Bank Premier League powerhouse who also have started making waves on the continental scene. Deberen is also a former player who holds all goal scoring records in the country and is Albaie's most capped ever player with 178 caps and with 167 goals shows what a star he was. Not to be confused with Vincent Deberen The Younger who is his 16 year old son who happens to play for both Dubrack's Town Celtic and the Albaie National Team. Even though he keeps his place as manager he is still incapacitated following a car crash and has remained so throughout the Great Imperial War.

Mark another member of the Deberen sporting dynasty who as son of Vincent Deberen The Elder was widely touted as his successor and at the young age of 15 was playing in a Under 19's match for his fathers club Dubrack's Town Celtic against local rivals Albaie Rangers to prepare for his starting debut when a vicious challenge broke his leg in two places and the young lad announced his retirement but a week later was announced as Head of Youth Team Liaisons at Dubrack's Town Celtic where he took lessons from his father and started doing his coaching badges and by the age of 20 he was Head of First Team Coaching under his father and alongside Sir Arthur Sportern was his father's closest ally. Mark then left the club at 24 to manage the struggling Maras Wolfs and in his first season won the Emperor's Shield and the Imperial Bet Championship and so secured promotion to the Imperial Bank Premier League. In the team's first season in the top flight Mark completed the unthinkable not only winning the Albaie Cup but the Imperial Bank Premier League itself a feat unrivaled in Albaie footballing history. Then at the end of the season he announced his resignation and returned to fill the space left by Arthur Sportern as he became Head of the AFA and made a duke. Mark then at the beginning of last season filled the gap left by Stephen MacMillan at international level who left to head the Imperial Commission for Improvement In Football under Duke Arthur Sportern at the AFA being made a Count in the process. Has taken over his father's managerial position in his absence. After a successful World Cup and his return to the war torn nation he joined up into the Imperial Army raising a brigade known as Deberen's Dragons with 5,000 infantry men, 1,500 horsemen and 500 artilleryman with cannons as well. His war service was exceptional and he saw combat in many battles one of which the Battle of Horseton in which he won the battle with a valiant horse charge but sustained a fierce face wound resulting in a much altered appearance. Over the course of the war he was awarded a DC, a AS and a SRK for his valiant service as well as being allowed to start his own cadet branch House Deberen of Horseton with the lordship of Horseton being granted to him having slayed it's rebel lord in the battle. At the Battle Of Harlington Hall Mark and Vincent Deberen sneaked behind enemy lines with their troops and played havoc on the enemy rear effectively causing distractions that enabled the Emperor's troops to win the battle with minimal losses. Mark was awarded with a DSM and a AS for his service as well as having his estates expanded by 2,000 acres from territory taken from rebel soldiers. After two of the best World Cup Qualifiers in Albaie history, a dismal first half to World Cup 71 Qualification Deberen went on a sabbatical to recharge his managerial batteries.

General Duke Arthur Sportern Lord High President of the Imperial Albaie Football Association - Interim Manager - Sportern the current Lord High President of the IAFA and a distinguished manager and player from Albaie's past who stands among the very greatest of her football players being hailed as the creative spark behind Vincent Deberen's genius. He has stepped in to the managerial role to allow Mark Deberen time to recover his lost ability before he resumes his stint as manager of the nation.

Chief Of Staff Colonel Lord Edward " Lucky " Mercer DC AS SRC MC MS of the 77th Brigade Deberen's Dragons - Goalkeeping Coach / Caretaker Assistant Manager - " Lucky " is a former youth player for Dubrack's Town Celtic and Albaie but he suffered a serious injury his career was over. He then saw service in the 77th Dubrack's Town Light Infantry during the Second Advar Revolution when he sided with the Crown Prince during the Battle Of Advaria and then served by his side during the conflict and was well decorated with a Dubrack Cross and an Albert Star as well as a Saint Ruk Cross for his good service as well as being made a Knight of Saint Arthyr for saving the Crown Prince's life on three occasions. " Lucky " then joined the Imperial Guard but saw a stagnation in his career as he was posted to service with unimportant members of the Imperial Family and then finally service as a guard at the AFA which is where Count Vincent Deberen recruited him as a coach and he quickly rose through the ranks at Dubrack's Town Celtic and Albaie and became a key man in the Campionato Esportiva. He was a key part of the last World Cup campaign. " Lucky " joined Sir Mark as his second in command and the two saw great service in the war and were both richly awarded and " Lucky " was raised to a lord and has become one of the key men of the loyalist army.

Tactics

In recent years, especially at the beginning of the Cup of Harmony which many have been hailing as Albaie's return to the top of the international scene, even international reporters have began to notice the Imperial National Team and by extension Albaie as a whole's exciting brand of football. Led by Earl Vincent Deberen and Duke Arthur Sportern Albaie has seen a return to her earlier tactics from the 80's which involved a heavily possession based form of football linking both accurate passing with skilled dribbling. This earlier form of football though has been brought into the modern era by more modern sportsmen with Earl Mark Deberen, Earl Edward Mercer and Marquess William Dubrack Dubrackson who have seen the old flashy football grounded by heavy hitting defenders who will stop at nothing to regain the ball. As a result Albaie combines both high possession and tackle rates with a high amount of fouls given away.

BRASILIANIA - CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA 14 ROSTER

#1 - GK - Cristóvão ADALBERTO Machado - Age 30 - Sporting Adlanense
#12 - GK - Armando Olegário NATANIEL CRUZ - Age 27 - Athletico Nomarazo
#22 - GK - RAMON Cortez Costa - Age 26 - Imperial Clube
The same three goalkeepers from the last edition are included, but with all three at the peak of their careers it could be a last for all of them. New manager Guilherme Ventura has stated he wishes to have a young, dynamic side at his disposal, it could be the last chance for these three to prove their worth. Veteran Adalberto will start between the sticks, but athletic goalkeeper Nataniel Cruz is a solid backup. Ramon only played 12 minutes last time, but he will look to earn a couple more caps if he gets the chance.

#2 - DR - Antônio Cristian Perez Rodríguez "CAIXÃO" - Age 28 - Imperial Clube
#3 - DL - Dado Augusto ÁLVARO FONSECA - Age 29 - Lorinto Pino
#5 - DC - Armando HERNANDEZ - Age 35 - Liro Puena
#6 - DC - Paulino Luisinho MARTIM NUNES Ribeiro - Age 23 - Imperial Clube

#13 - DC - Jerônimo Jeremias Remigio Ventura "JEREMINHO" - Age 24 - Athletico Nomarazo
#14 - DR - Edmundo SÉRGIO Rodolfo HENRIQUES - Age 22 - Numo Octubre
#15 - DL - Manoel CEZAR NUNES - Age 25 - Numo Octubre
At 28, Caixão is still one of the fastest around and he is set to start but the equally fast Sergio Henriques is snapping aay at his heels. Fonseca should start at left back but Cezar Nunes could do too. It will be captain Hernandez's final Campianato Esportiva, with the future pairing of Martim Nunes and Jereminho looking a solid one however.

#4 - DMC - SATURNINO TADEU - Age 21 - Liro Puena
#8 - MC - Luisao MARCO AURÉLIO - Age 30 - Francio Norelo
#15 - DMC - Adriano PAULINHO CELESTINO Magalhães - Age 27 - Liro Puena
#17 - MC - Felix MATEUS Camilo Santos - Age 23 - Numo Octubre
Marco Aurelio and Mateus should start in the centre-midfield, but Saturnino Tadeu and Paulinho Celestino should get a run out too. Tadeu is highly regarded as one of the finest Brasilianian prospects, and if Ventura's coaches can adapt him to play in a more central role he could be a key candidate to replace Marco Aurelio. Mateus thoroughly impressed when given the chance last time and as a new starter he should do too. Paulinho Celestino was seen as a bit of a wildcard, but an interesting choice nonetheless.

#7 - ML - Raimundo Victor Jordão RIBEIRO - Age 25 - Liro Puena
#11 - MR - SILVIO Rogério ELIAS Duarte - Age 24 - Solenense
#19 - AMC - Paulo Olavo MARCOS MATÍSSIMO Mata - Age 21 - Solenense
#21 - AML - Evaristo Elias PAULO Silva DOMINGUES - Age 22 - Solenense
#23 - AMR - Reynaldo THIAGO Aníbal SALAZAR - Age 24 - Numo Octubre

With five wingers at his disposal, Ventura may be slightly disappointed only one can play in attacking midfield. The more attacking Paulo Domingus and Thiago Salazar should start with Ribeiro and Silvio Elias as backup, but there's a good chance the versatile Marcos Matissimo could start on either side despite his preference to play as an attacking midfielder.

#9 - ST - FABIO RAFAEL Gimenes Garcia - Age 25 - Athletic Sorao
#10 - ST - Ruben LUCIO Bente SYLVESTRE - Age 21 - SC Polaaberg (POL)

#18 - ST - JULIO Nuno Eustaquio Ferreira - Age 28 - Sporting Adlanense
#23 - ST - Vasco Estevão RÉGULO NUNES - Age 22 - Numo Octubre
#24 - ST - Tomé Ivo ENÉAS RODRIGUES - Age 23 - Liro Puena
#25 - ST - HENRIQUE Odilon Nicolau SILVA - Age 21 - Francio Norelo
Only three strikers are retained from last time, Fabio Rafael, Lucio Sylvestre and Julio. The former two should likely start, and new strikers Regulo Nunes, Eneas Rodriguez and Henrique Silva provide dynamic backups.

Starting XI (4-2-4)
GK - Adalberto
DL - Álvaro Fonseca
DC - Hernandez (c)
DC - Ruben Martins
DR - Caixão
MC - Marco Aurélio
MC - Mateus
AML - Paulo Dominguez
ST - Fabio Rafael
ST - Lucio Sylvestre
AMR - Thiago Salazar

IC Note: In Racao, this CE takes place immediately after WC 70, not 72.

RACAO ROSTER FOR CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA XIV>>>

GOALKEEPERS >>>
SAKOTO >>> GK (26) Sakoto is one of Racao's most experienced goalkeepers. Despite being one of the older players on Racao's team, Sakoto still possesses reflexes and wit. Sakoto, like many of the Racaoan players on this roster, grew up playing football on the streets of the slums outside Racao's major cities. Although the culture at the time encouraged goal-scorers more than goal-tenders, Sakoto quickly discovered a natural talent for goalkeeping. A scout for Soalara Strike noticed Sakoto's abilities and signed him on. He won the national championship twice with that club before moving on to Port Louis Lightning, where he is today.

Hassan HIRANA >>> GK (24) Although Hassan Hirana is an up-and-coming goalkeeper, he has taken second fiddle in the Racaoan team to the more experienced Sokoto. He definitely has good shot-blocking skills, and far and by large, he is an excellent goalkeeper.

Trojana RAKOHELY >>> GK (29) Trojana Rakohely is somewhat of an old geezer on the Racaoan side. Having just barely made the team, Rakohely's skills are growing old and he no longer possesses the quick reflexes he had in his youth.

DEFENDERS >>>
Andrian RAKOTONIRINA >>> RB (27) Andrian Rakotonirina brings some experience to the defensive side of the field. He has played for several Racaoan clubs and knows his way around several strategies. His guidance will help the younger defenders when they need it.

Justin RABELOMASINA >>> RB (21) Justin Rabelomasina might be the total opposite of Chris Rakotomaharo. While Rakotomaharo specializes in large kicks, Rabelomasina specializes in short, precise passes that work nearly every single time. He helps to maintain a defensive field around the goal which almost never allows shots through. Good dribbling and pickup abilities help Rabelomasina to keep the ball away from the goal. Rabelomasina also has good concentration and will use them to complement his passing and dribbling and his fellow defenders' good attributes.

Christopher RAKOTOMAHARO >>> CB (19) One of two teenage prodigies starting on Racao's national team, Chris Rakotomaharo is a speedy defender with a tight control on the ball. His kicking abilities are legendary on the Racaoan team and feature strongly in the defensive strategy of the team. His fellow defenders act like a funnel, sending the ball towards him so he can send the ball far away from the goal. If that doesn't work, he is more than adept at dribbling, and keeping with the opportunistic Racaoan team, he makes use of his many skills to keep the ball from penetrating the goal. His versatility and quick thinking make him an asset to any team that has him.

Ciriaque RASOA >>> CB (24) Ciriaque Rasoa is a competent defender. He lacks creativity, however, and sticks to by-the-book strategies, something that doesn't fare well for Racao's current strategy.

Masibo RALAVANOA>>> LB (25) Masibo Ralavanoa is a good all-around player - he has decent stamina, decent passes, decent blocks, and decent stealing. However, the team strategy did not call for a jack-of-all-trades, and Manendry fit the bill for a left back better than Ralavanoa did.

Félix MANENDRY >>> LB (23) Félix Manendry is a solid and consistent defender. Skilled at passing and retrieval, Manendry is willing to take risks. Although he is a left back, Manendry often deviates from his assigned position, and he is also capable of playing center back. He often takes control of the ball right after the opposing team penetrates the midfield, passing it back to his teammates before they send it wide into the midfield. His defensive style is on the border between creative and by-the-book. When an opportunity arises for either situation, Manendry is not hesitant to use his skills to pick up on that opportunity. Manendry is currently with a club in Port Louis.

MIDFIELDERS >>>
MOSA >>> CM (26) CPT Mosa, Racao's most experienced midfielder, still has years left in him. Despite flagging stamina, Mosa knows how to connect with the ball. His main asset is his versatility. Whether on defense or on offense, Mosa knows the right tricks to get the ball where he wants it to go. He is a prolific scorer despite being in the midfield. Strikers Ipirina and Arivelo are often at the receiving end of his passes for a creative goal shot, and Mosa is adept at getting that perfect shot in line for them. His experience shows on the playing field. Mosa is described as eother a creative midfielder or a midfield general player, and he has the abilities to fit both profiles. Indeed, he does create many scoring opportunities for the trio of young strikers. At the other end of the stick, though, Mosa directs play in the midfield and scoops up the opponents' shots. He is a confidence booster for the younger members of the team. Mosa definitely deserves his captainship because of the wide range of abilities he possesses.

Nizar AMADA >>> LM (23) Nizar Amada just barey made the Racaoan team - he is not very accurate with passes, and he doesn't has good defense or stealing abilities. Despite these failings, overall he is a decent player, yet not decent enough for the starting squad.

Albert MANASOA >>> LM (22) Albert Manasoa is a good complement to Mena Rabalasoa on the other side of the field. Manasoa's best attribute is arguably his stealing ability. Opposing defenders will not be safe if they are in Mansoa's zone; he will find a way to send the ball to Mosa or the offensive end of the field, like teammate Rabalasoa. His stamina along the left flank also helps him to maintain a good defensive posture. Manasoa, when in his element, is virtually unstoppable.

Rado SALIM >>> CM (22) Rado Salim is on the midline between a somewhat good player and a good player. He just needs a little more development. Indeed, he is fairly competent on the defensive side of the midfield, but sometimes, he cracks under pressure. Maybe in a cycle or two he will be promoted to the starting squad.

Masibo ANDRIANAJAKA >>> CM (22) Masibo Andriananaka has the mixed blessing of sharing the center midfield with the venerable Mosa. However, his skills are up to the task. Known for his box-to-box style, Manasoa is as equally adept on the defense as he is on the offense. Extremely mobile and blessed with good stamina, Andrianajaka possesses the qualities he needs to shore up both the defensive and offensive ends of the midfield. Arguably, Andrianajaka is the best box-to-box player Racao has ever produced.

Tahiry MAHAZAKA >>> CM (25) Tahiry Mahazaka is one of Mosa's and Masibo Andrianajaka's colleagues. He is a bit older than Andrianajaka but his stamina is falling and he is not aggressive enough, or at least according to team management. He will probably be subbed in if the team needs to take a more defensive posture.

Mena RABALASOA >>> RM (25) Mena Rabalasoa is an excellent right-winger. He is a flank player who possessive great pickup abilities. These abilities, as well as his legendary speediness, serve him well near the pitch boundaries, where he can force the ball towards the center of the midfield, allowing his teammates the opportunity to set up a goal-scoring play. He has the experience and gut instinct which allows him to predict a good next move, which allows him to foresee opponents' moves and to be there before they know they will be there. All of these qualities make Rabalasoa an excellent defensive midfielder.

Vincent RAHARISON >>> RM (26) Vincent Raharison is one of the more experienced midfielders, along with Mosa. However, he never was a good as Mosa, and despite being a good midfielder, a slightly younger and faster Mena Rabalasoa took the spot.

STRIKERS >>>
Ryan ARIVELO >>> ST (19) An up-and-coming striker, Arivelo is one of the youngest starters (and, indeed, players overall) on the Racaoan national team. Currently, he is the only player from Racao to play in a foreign club, Cenial United of Ceni; he formerly played for Once Municipal of San Jose Guayabal. Arivelo is known for his speed, endurance, passing, and unorthodox tactics. Indeed, he often takes risks and is rewarded with creative shots that go into the goal. He is a team player and despite his individuality, he is more than willing to work with his other teammates to score goals, even if it is at the expense of his own pride. Arivelo is on track to be one of the best players Racao has ever seen.

Pascale RAVELONAJATO >>> ST (25) Pascale Ravelonajato is a conventional striker. He is at least competent and knows what he is doing. His shots can be off target, but for the most part they are not shabby.

Aristotle IPIRINA >>> ST (21) Aristotle Ipirina is in the class of Ryan Arivelo. The two players have many similarities: both are young, risk-taking strikers. What sets Ipirina apart, however, is his shot-making ability. His risks are not in shots but in his position. Ipirina has a great mental acuity and can compute the best angles for shots while on the field (as evidenced by his name). When he gets in position, the ball almost always scores points for the Racao side. Ipirina also has the endurance to make it through a long match and the confidence to back himself up.

Mark VELONIRINA >>> ST (25) Mark Velonirina is by most conventional standards, an excellent striker. He has accuracy and power. Indeed, he led his team in Saint-Denis to the championships. However, team management decided to adopt a more risky approach rather than the stolid play Velonirina is used to.

Arman RAKOTOARISOA >>> ST (24) A fairly competent striker, Rakotoarisoa excels in accurate shots. He is a little bit slower than his peers but he does a good job with what he has. This, unfortunately, was not enough to earn him a place on the starting squad.

Silvëre RAVALOMANANA >>> ST (21) Completing Racao's trio of young strikers is Silvëre Ravalomanana. Unlike his peers Ipirina and Arivelo, though, Ravalomanana's specialty is outwitting defenders. He is extremely flexible with the ball and his dribbling and faking skills are second to none. No defender can stop his movement. After he is through all defenders, Ravalomana will either attempt a straight-up shot or pass to teammates Ipirina or Arivelo. Considering his accuracy, Ravalomanana is often the top choice to take penalty kicks. Ravalomanana also performs well under pressure, as a good striker should.

COACHING STAFF >>>
SOJA >>> Manager (35) Soja is probably one of the most-known footballers in Racao, and he is definitely a household name. A former striker and captain, Soja led the Racao national team and the Soalara Strike team until he retired from playing a few years ago. He has since turned his attention to coaching. Soja prefers to have innovative strategies rather than more conventional ones. The 3-4-3 approach that the team currently takes is his trademark style. Soja emphasizes personal fitness as well as opportunism and creativity. He is an extreme confidence booster and the players are proud to have him leading their team. He is an extremely popular coach, and inspires the team to do well. Apart from making lineup choices, Soja is also responsible for financial issues, travel, and other arrangements.

Robert JOSOA >>> Head Assistant Coach (36) Robert Josoa, another former player (a midfielder) from Soalara Strike, is responsible for more of the day-to-day activities of the team. He leads practices and ensures that the players are trained adequately before the match. He helps Soja implement general team strategy and also oversees the assistant coaches that train the goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and strikers. Josoa is also respected by the players and generally offers good tips for their improvement. He is interested in the team's welfare and will go far to ensure that they will win.

Dr. Hery TOLOLAHY >>> Medical Director (39) Hery Tololahy oversees trainers and physicians that make up the Racaoan national team. The son of the first real sports doctor in Racao, Tololahy followed in his father's path, studying at the Port Louis University and gaining admission to a prestigious program in the Kytler Peninsulae. As part of his job as the medical director, Tololahy treats injuries and takes steps to help them team avoid injuries. He also helps the team to maintain their energy and stamina and regain lost body fluids. On the side, Tololahy also runs clinics in Racao for aspiring footballers and other athletes on the importance of medicine.

STRATEGY >>>
The Racaoan strategy for this tournament will be a versatile format that aims for effective coverage of the entire field to gain possession. Racao will adopt a slightly aggressive but balanced strategy that emphasizes control of the midfield. Starting with the 3-4-3 position, the Racao team will develop the offense by tactical use of midfield plays. If a team manages to get through the midfield, the defense and goalkeeper are more than able to handle them, although a midfielder may be shunted towards the defensive end of the field in case of this scenario. However, with a strong midfield, this scenario is unlikely, but the team will be able to deal with this occasion. At the offensive end of the field, shot-making and accuracy are emphasized. If the team is behind, similar to strategy for defense, the midfield is capable of going on the offense. When this occurs, the two center midfielders will fan out towards the opponents' penalty box. This flexible approach ensures that the team is not caught off guard by offensive maneuvers and that goals can be made with relative ease. After the team's disastrous campaign in World Cup 70, Soja decided to tone down his' side's propensity for offense and instead focus on man-to-man defending, more flexible midfield strategies, and less reliance on the strikers to lead the team to victory. Depending on the results of this CE campaign, Soja might decide to make some changes to the formation, including adding additional midfielders and removing strikers.

APOX CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA XIV ROSTER

Manager: Olim Benzari, Aged: 47
Assistant Manager: Ivel Mendes, Aged: 51
Style: -1

Spiel: Well, we made it to another WC! However, our performance there wasn't the most stunning - a tame loss to now World Champions Pasarga, a heroic thriller of a victory against Farfadillis, before just about the most soul destroying loss to Kirisaki in the final group game to send us from second to fourth in the group. So then, Gavin Hughes and Jorge Guardia, their relationship with the AFB pretty well destroyed, left the job at the end of their contracts, leaving the door wide open for none other than national legend and experienced manager Olim Benzari to make the step up from Urbanista to the big time, the national team. He is immediately thrust into a period of relative rebuilding, with Tolgus Tregajorran, Ettie Seabrooke and Armando Quillisi all announcing their international retirements shortly after that loss to Kirisaki. He brings with him plenty of fresh faces to The Sarian, and the promise of more change to come next World Cup. The expectation will be for another semi-final finish this Campionato, but whether that actually happens is anyone's guess.

After some time of success during the World Cup 70 Qualifiers and also during a great part of the World Cup 71 Qualifiers where they almost dominated their group but felll off in a last matchday game against the top seed, Saintland, there was hope at playoffs but a fatal error from Hernández turned one of the most memorable comebacks of Guayabalense football (From losing 0-2 to winning 4-2 at home and going to WC during those minutes) into another missed chance to be in the World Cup Finals, an own goal in the 92nd minute was enough to send San José Guayabal to the CoH again.

That CoH was beileved to be a fiasco according to some sport pundits, a sahem at home was forecasted but the national team, under the conduction of Paulo Oliveira and Alfredo Herrera performed an spectacular participation that made dream to an entire nations, reaching the final with a new game style, very solid in defense, allowing just one goal during the entire tournament, the final against an historic team like Valanora was the launching platform to glory for La Selecta, who after a hard fought game, they lifted the champions trophy after beating the Vanorians 4-3 in Penalty Kicks.

After a splendid World Cup Qualifiers, La Selecta managed to get back into World Cup Finals after an absence of eight years, after losing the first game against Felix and tying the second with Kandorith their hopes for a Round of 16 were depending of Kandorith vs Felix game and also of their performance against The Holy Empire, despite they did one of the most memorable games of the history of Guayabalense football by beating The Holy Empire 2-0, they failed to qualify to the second round because Felix beat the Kandorese squad. After that, La Selecta is aiming to get ready for this edition of the Campionato Esportiva and try to do their best in this, the team will have some variations compared to the usual line up but the strategy will be almost the same, now the team is going back to their roots, a counterattacking game with a little bit more emphasis in the defense.

After undesirable results in the World Cup 71 Qualifiers, La Selecta decided to start a reengineering in its game system, after proving that a good defence is not something from other planet, receiving fifteen goals in fourteen matches during the World Cup 71, a new slightly defensive system was established in the team, featuring for the first time a line of four midfielderss, trying to block the highest number of possibilities of the rival team, also including a rookie into the team, Abraham Terrazas is having his first experience as the goalkeeper of the Starting XI, with one midfielder who can have a rol of defence like Núñez, this team is probably a quite defensive version of La Selecta. A key aspect that changes a bit from the other lineups used throughout the history, is the use of two strikers instead, in order to keep the offensive capacity that has characterized the football of the National Team and maybe the bastion of the whole Guayabalense football.

The "home" roster of SJG features the use three defenders with some experience like James Moreira and Meyson Salume, both can act as key players if we talk about the realization of transitions to offensive plays meanwhile Passarelli is the team sweeper and also most experienced of the team in terms of playing in the international scene, specifically in UICA tournaments. In the midfield we can see a rhombus shaped position of four players, being Saucedo and Bregoo a kind of fake forwards due to the changing role of the tactical system that can feature five forwards in case of need and Núñez together with Valencia can be sort of defence in case of need. In resume this strategy helps in defence and attacking because it can turn into a 3-2-5 in attacking moments or a 5-2-3 in defending moments, creating a complete system that can help the team to achieve victory at any cost.

There are three words to describe the game style of La Selecta being that: efficience, speed and withe, something that makes the team look solid at any time, no matter the game but it is a team that rarely gives up, even if the conditions are totally against, the team tries to score early, to score the highest amount of goals and going decidedly to the front in order to score, to fight with courage every ball and also having a high esteem and sense of unity as a team.

Game style: The game who SJG does is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement from the players, using their intelligence for the game to find lone spaces and perform single passes that are very accurate and "in depth", they like to accumulate players while attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counter attacks that usually have a good level of effectivity, taking in consideration that this is a team who thinks in score the goals as fast as possible instead of defending (Well known as "The Kill or Die Philosophy." Which is the most used tactic on Guayabalense football throughout his history), something that they do even when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team, no matter the rival, the objective is score the highest amount of goals and win the three points.

In the defence area, they tend to use physical game style in order to set conditions to the rivals, despite that the defenders are of medium height, they are well known for their skill at aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat them, specially in corners or set pieces, expect always fair play from this team, avoiding to do fouls into the last 25-30 meters of their defence area.

Players normally like to do long-distance shots or seek for chances in aerial game via set pieces or corners, specially with Árbol Saucedo and Mattías Passarelli, who are the tallest players of the entire squad. Still, this team can do some special moves, considering the idea of the team of never give up and trying to be efficient while attacking.

The Managers

Paulo Oliveira 46 Y/O, Nationality: Valladar Image

Strict, offensive and organized are three words that describes the new manager of San José Guayabal National Team, former player of the one time Globe Cup champions, Marinos Metrópolis (He coached on the final series) and them he served to Marinos and helped them to achieve the best positions on the Valladar Liga-1, going to Champions' League berths or Globe Cup berths, his seasons on charge of Marinos showed always a nice display of game, being direct, offensive and with high pressure to the rival defenders, a manager who tends to be strict but motivating to the players of the National Team, Oliveira is one of those managers with a high devotion to football and his environment, specially the ones like the Guayabalense football atmosphere, with a lot of pressure and expectations from the fans and the Football Federation itself. His arrival to La Selecta has already received good criticism, as being "one of the best decisions that the FGF could have made", considering the zestful and strict character of Oliveira, good results can be expected from a renovated National Team.

Alfredo Herrera 68 Y/O, Nationality: Aquillian (Part of Osarius) Image

We've all heard the anecdotes about Aquillian's national football team manager Alfredo Herrera, and how he is sometimes "endearingly zany". His open training sessions during some friendlies, or at tournaments like the the Cup of Harmony or WCQ, reveal some -- but not the full extent of his preparations. He stands on the touchline, barking the same orders over and over until they are followed perfectly. "Retreat! Retreat now!" he barks at his wingbacks during one exercise. "You have less than seven seconds to return or they will pierce the gap!" His barking continues. "Release immediately! No hesitation! No delay! Control, release, move! Control, release, move!" His players are practicing to execute his commands with such speed and efficiency, they appear almost instinctive. The level is intense. He shuffles things around. Rotates players. Alters the tempo. Introduces more rules. Removes rules. The withdrawal, surveying and tinkering process repeats itself several times over before he appears satisfied. "Excellent! This is how we go! This is how we win!" He finally bestows some praise upon his players.

Starting XI Bio

Abraham Terrazas 17 Y/O, Goalkeeper of Izotz Zubia (AUD) Image

Maybe the youngest keeper on the history of the National Team, Terrazas was even more young when he left to the Audioslavian powerhouse Izotz Zubia, though his youngness was a limitant to be on the starting XI, he taked advantage of any chance he had to demonstrate his best level of game, through the time, Terrazas has been climbing to the top in his club, after some time, he is fighting for a spot on the starting XI and he has more action on it, Terrazas is probably the new promise of the Guayabalense football under the three posts.

James Moreira 19 Y/O, Left Defender of Canterlot Royals (EQS) Image

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team.

Mattías Passarelli 25 Y/O, Central Defender of Delare Minon (YTT) Image

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI and also the one with more experience in the team, Mattías played in the NT since they were an almost amateur-ish side, he played in Alianza FC and achieved three titles, enough to do his move to the Yttribian powerhouse of Delare Minon, when he got another three league tournaments including one solid run in the UICA Globe Cup made him a worship idol for the fans of the team, he doesn't plans to move of the team, because he feels the love of the fans.

Meyson Salume 18 Y/O, Right Defender of East Franz Athletic (PIS)Image

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defence, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there, and can do more due to his motivaion caused due to his arrival to Polarian lands

Rudy Valencia 23 Y/O, Midfielder (Destroyer) of Oakstone (EUR) Image

The globetrotter of San José Guayabal, a player who did his labour in three nations like Mangolana, and Chiata, now is in Eura to show his quality, Valencia's role is being the destroyer of any attempt of play creation in the midfield, his confidence is a strong point for him but his loose reaction when gets booked it's a trouble for SJG, specially to avoid red cards.

Sebastián Núñez 20 Y/O, Left Midfielder of SK Nasjonale Hauker (PIS)Image

Probably one of the youngest promises for Guayabalense football in the future, Núñez is one of the interesting players to follow in the team due to his special moves in the midfield, a player who wants to kick the ball from far as possible and pput it inside of the opposite goal, Núñez is more offensive than the average midfielder in terms of moves across the pitch.

Leónidas Bregoo 25 Y/O Midfielder of FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS) Image

The Rulandese borned but Guayabalian by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team.

Árbol "Tree" Saucedo 21 Y/O, Right Midfielder of Wye United (APX) Image

The tallest of the team, say hi to the 202 cms high player of the Apoxian team of Wye United. Saucedo is without doubt the main weapon of the team in headers and also one of the main defenders, taking advantage of his size, Saucedo tends to run fast in counterattacks, with a speed worthy to compete with the best in the Games of the Olympiad.

Sean "Black Panther" Fraser 25 Y/O, Right Striker of Real Azuris (COS) Image

The top scorer of all the time in the National Team, the useful Sean Fraser is a deadly weapon in the strikers zone, counterattacks, long shots and headers makes him a player who can score in any way possible in any moment, dangerous by his skill and technical game with the dribbling, is a headache for the defenders.

Jonathan "Atomic Flea" Faña 27 Y/O, Left Striker of Oljestaden IF (AUD)Image

Little in size but extremely fast, the "Flea" tends to be very technical and does a lot of dribbles, he can't shot so well from large distances but his excellent speed and counterattack skills makes him a rather interesting player to follow, the bad thing is that he's overconfident and can fail goals even in front of the goal, even if the Goalkeeper was beated by his drible. Well he has a bad luck.

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: 25 Y/O Striker of 1830 Cathair (AUD)Image

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

Specialities: Free kick.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group offering him to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. A former colonizers ancestral heritage and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva. In this guide basic data information that will help the tourist (Regardless of nationality, sex, species, religion, etc.) to have a pleasant stay in San José Guayabal, with phrases and tips that will be much useful.

History

Originally, San José Guayabal was inhabited by a tribe from the South Pole, which has been called "Eskimos" and which our country still live to this day, beginning more than 2,600 years before Christ. Eskimos settled in small communities on the shores of the south coast of the nation, developing solitarily without contact with most members of his ethnic group or the like. The economy was based on hunting and selling bearskins for the winter season, or the planting and harvesting of grapes or apples during the spring time. The system of government was nonexistent and remained so for a long time, where the Eskimos were the majority before a new ethnic group in the center of the country, which was the group of "Wára-Wára" who ended up being called "Native Guayabalenses.”

Many centuries later, the picture did not change in ethnic background, because the Eskimos maintained a social domain but now much more informed through a central government called "Naalakkersueriaaseq" or simply "Naala", consisting of a governor who tended to meet the role of chief and spiritual guide of the nation. Note that abandoned their nomadic practices and decided to establish around the "Great Lake" now called "Metropolitan Lake", about 230 km from what is now San Salvador, the capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Northern regions which, specifically from Andarica, we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country with the valorous mission of Explorer Luis Barbosa (Who’s considered as founder of the nation) and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, the isolated Eskimos decided to merge into a new society, full of opportunities for everybody. And that hasn’t stopped yet, because more groups came to stay in our nation, coming from the north the Finns, Swedes, Russians and Anglo-Saxons, creating a multicultural society in a big nation, who had a strong sense of unity and brotherhood since the early beginning despite the racial differences.

In the last 200 years, San José Guayabal has suffered drastic changes into his history and social system, being caused by political reasons, who led to three civil wars (1989, 2024, 2047) where the main factor was the wish of liberty and prosperity from a diverse but united nation with strong wishes of success in international issues as business, industries and more specially peace and freedom.

Today, San José Guayabal is a nation that is rising from the ruins by leaps and bounds after the most recent and devastating civil war that put a stop to the tyrannical communist regime of then President Miguel Serrano. In an industry dominated by petroleum and energy resources such as shale or subtraction of natural gas in conjunction with a strong and increasingly thriving tourism industry and micro technology based economy (Chips, micro-chips, etc.) are transforming the nation into what people have dreamed of, a country of advanced its breakthrough in the future and seek to overcome adversity to become more powerful and provide a better standard of life for its inhabitants.

Geography, Climate and another natural phenomena

San José Guayabal is a continental nation, located in the continent of Inferiore Minore, Esportiva. Having a great number of surrounding islands, an 85% of The Antartic Territory, doing a great combination of climate geographical features.
The continental area is very irregular, mountainous and extremely volcanic relief, being mountainous in the west, south-central, north-central and eastern containing long plains and steppes in the central area (also called "The Heart") of the nation, The Alpine Belt also called "Cordillera Del Fuego" runs from the border with Estope and Wednesday Evening in the far west to the border with Gregoryisgodistan in the east, forming a branch towards the south coast of the nation. The eruptions are less frequent in recent years, the last eruption was 12 years ago and the possibilities of a new eruption event occur is very minimal. This has generated an abundance of rocky material from the process of cooling of the lava, a very popular material used for gardens, decoration or houses.

Notable exceptions to the mountainous terrain of San José Guayabal are the Central Valley and the Northern Steppe. El Valle is a flat land that does not exceed 600 meters above sea level and extends over much of the Lempa River; the soil is very fertile for growing grain and other agricultural products such as corn, beans, and sugarcane, and also is home of the biggest hydroelectric dams in the entire region of Esportiva.

The North Steppe is the most arid area of the territory, dominated by its large sand dunes, this region has very little rainfall throughout the year and extreme weather in the summer, easily exceeding 42°C at noon and decreasing the 9°C at the night, fauna it’s minimal there except for scorpions and some lizards.

The climate of San Jose Guayabal is generally quite predictable because there are four distinct seasons being these winter (June 21 to September 20), spring (September 21 to December 20), summer (December 21 to March 20) and the autumn (March 21-June 20) while in Rossana (overseas colony) the condition is different because of its location in the northern hemisphere being the winter between December and March, spring between April and June, the summer between July and September while autumn is from October to December. It's very rare to see a non-corresponding to the station in our country climate, with stable climates for each season and very few flaws in the service of climate information in the news and newspapers because the control systems of the climate and the almost obvious weather patterns.

In terms of natural phenomena we can find three, the most catastrophic ones are the earthquakes, a very common event in the nation due to its volcanic activity and its location between two major tectonic plates, the Southern Plate and the Inferiore Plate. This makes our nation quite prone to seismic events place but do not panic. The nation has high construction standards regarding the prevention of seismic events and is mandatory that each building has evacuation plans which are placed in visible to make easier the evacuation besides making evacuation drills at least two times for year. Note that at least 45% of citizens are people trained to provide first aid, this being part of the given requirements to complete the Students’ Social Service, required for the graduation of students in the education system.

We now turn to other less lethal phenomena, as are the aurora australis and the migration of geese, spectacular events that attracts lots of people. The aurora australis is a phenomenon that occurs mainly from March to September, while maintaining an appropriate intensity to be seen until the end of December, usually can be seen throughout the country, including northern areas like El Roblar or Metapán. The migrating of geese occur during September to December, from the Central Valley region they move to the South Pole, then head north of Esportiva. These spectacles often bring many people to be witnessed, because they have an enormous facility to witness each of these phenomena.

Travel

Visiting San José Guayabal is not a very complicated process, as the provisions of international travel are applied for each foreign visitor. International flights usually land at three airports, one for each egion of the country, being the El Roblar International Airport designated to the west, Luis Barbosa Airport in Vladivostok for the central region and San Salvador International Airport to the east, the latter being the most important because of its location in the capital.

On transport and within San Jose Guayabal, we can find many alternatives among these is a rental car, join a tour group to use a minibus, taxi, public bus system, the private mass transportation, the underground (Available in cities over 500,000 inhabitants com) the bullets and domestic flights trains provide easy connectivity between one point and another in the nation, but can mention popular media, low cost and short runs as the tuc tuc and the colloquially called "coaster" (small minibus whose route is fast but to some extent uncomfortable due to the high volume of music and the sound of their mufflers). As mentioned, the transport between different parts of the nation is very easy, even people facilitate travel through the "ride" method, something often practiced by people who made a short trip and bear a considerable burden in order to avoid walk with overload.

Transportation is a very fast method SJG if done especially between cities separated by many kilometers because there is no speed limit on highways, although it is recommended to drive at no more than 140 kilometers per hour.

It’s important to say that you should drive defensively in the roads, especially in the interstate highways, due to the very aggressive driving style of Guayabalenses in general, drive always at your right side and carry an extinguisher, reposition tires and use always your seatbelt, failure to do this might cause you high fines with the police, the fines should be paid at the local police department, in any bank or pharmacy under the “EasyPay” system which can be found in almost every town in the nation.

Culture & Society

Religion

San José Guayabal is a predominantly religious nation since ancient times, presenting a wide variety of thoughts about divinity.

From the beginning of time to the Eskimos, prevailed a kind of shamanism mixed with pagan rites in honor of the earth, moon and sun, entities of great importance to the Eskimos because of their dependence on agriculture and sun for planting and harvest of food and other goods for storage in the winter, which was worshiped by the moon and snow, who deserved rest and relaxation afforded to the Eskimos that time.

This Eskimo tradition of worshiping natural phenomena remained for more than 2500 years until the arrival of Spanish colonizers, who spread a new faith, Christianity in an easy way and without shedding innocent blood by religion. The Guayabalenses have been very receptive to the religion without falling into religious fundamentalism and fanaticism, this being a meeting point of unity and for society.

The Catholic branch of Christianity was the most professed in San José Guayabal to the arrival of the ethnic groups of Nordic origin like the Swedes and Finns who are predominantly Protestant, their influence on the people was so great that within two decades (1840- 1860) the percentage of Catholics dropped from 86% to 7%, and Protestantism dramatically increased to 89% of the population said to practice religion mainly based on the three pillars that characterizes San José Guayabal populace as a whole: Unity, Brotherhood and Passion.

Today the trend remains solid, the population is even more liberal than before in terms of tolerance creeds, admitting any theological thinking according to the Constitution of the Republic, severely condemning any act of censorship of religious expression or fundamentalism religious. Notably, church attendance has been increasing in the last seven years, bringing together a large part of the population; the missions of the churches typically perform community works across the nation or even international level people who need it most.

Language

Because being a multicultural nation, many languages are found in San Jose Guayabal, 31 to be precise, of which only five are relevant in their social use and only two are used by the government. At least a basic knowledge of Spanish language is more than useful in our nation but not essential, because 68% of the population has declared Spanish as their first language and 85% admit to have sufficient knowledge of the language. There are also four more languages in which the population has knowledge such as English (spoken by 70% of the population, 12% as their mother tongue), Swedish (spoken by 35% of the population, 4% as mother tongue), Russian (spoken by 26% of the population, 7% as their mother tongue) and Finnish (spoken by 17% of the population, 3% as their mother tongue).

The people of San Jose Guayabal are known regionally for the effort they made to learn new languages, speaking on average three to four languages at an appropriate level for communications with different people, according to them this is essential because knowledge is acquired different cultures and helps to relate to more people in The Multiverse.

Food & Etiquette

Food in San Jose Guayabal is very diverse, varying due to the presence of different ethnic groups that have imported your culinary culture to our nation, varying by region, but yes there are dishes that are distinguished from others if we talk about popularity nationwide.

Eating habits in SJG tends to be foods with moderate calories, being mainly meat and some salads that are normally accompaniment to the main course, where it normally waits for all those who eat at the same table finish their plate, then they start to eat all at the same time the main course, as tradition, a toast is made by anyone at the table. It is considered impolite to leave food residue on dishes and should you be invited to a house to eat or social activities, is always appropriate offer to wash the dishes and glasses where you ate, this being a gesture of good education and thanks to the host (not always the person that is offered is done, is considered as a simple act of appreciation.)

The typical dish par excellence of San José Guayabal are Pupusas, is a food made from mass shaped like circle, stuffed inside with fried beans, cheese, pork rind, squash, blackberry. This is often accompanied by vegetable tanning and ketchup.
Other main courses are: Tray (Composed of roast beef with barbecue, rice, salad, soup and fries), Quesadillas, Coastal Chops (Cutlet, bathed with barbecue and served with shrimp), Croquettes (breaded meat, accompanied with piece of dough and rice) and Spaghetti. Among the salads are: Paisa salad (lettuce, avocado, omelet, egg, chicken, bacon and corn chips) and the “Mil Cumbres” salad (lettuce, tortilla croutons, chicken, tomato, corn and ranch dressing).

Football Culture

Football in San José Guayabal is the sport that moves the masses, on any day and at any time of day is normal to see children playing football in the streets of residential areas or football academies, the Community youth playing football in tournaments, or at academies of professional or semi professional teams, adults meet after the workday with peers and then perform matches, as distraction from work stress and also the elderly and women, who do not hesitate to leave their detention work in order to enjoy the football. Through this we can deduce that as people get involved in football in an active way, so is his passion.

The passion for football is very excessive in our nation, for some it is cultural issue of pride support their team and others, is literally his own "religion" if you are so want to call, many fans to stadiums are directed to support his team in an almost unique way, the hostility in the atmosphere and tension is very high, the songs of hate towards the opponent and vice versa are very frequent flares, pyrotechnics, giant banners to support the team, hypes, trumpets and other musical instruments give much color to the bars organized teams or selection, popularly known as "Barras Bravas" are very common, but accidents between the fans are very rare.

Discuss and be contrary to any guayabalense about football in public is something that will not be very pleasant, especially if the national team is playing. In such cases, groups are formed and the riots start against the supporters of another nation, then this gives origin to the riots. Something forbidden by the laws of behavior in stadiums, as if they are the perpetrators, be of any nationality, the price to pay is high, from fines of 1,000 crowns (NS $ 2,000) up to three months in jail, or if they occur fatalities.

It is recommended to refrain from displays of hatred and mockery against the home crowd, in order to avoid problems of any kind during your stay, note that stadiums are not allowed to enter water bottles, umbrellas, sharps, flagpoles or pencils. You can enter flares, banners and musical instruments with previous notice to the police (if you are from an organized “ultra”), it is important to mention that you can find different food at the stadium, from ice cream to banquets of gourmet food, any kind of drink is available from the typical and highly alcoholic “Chaparro” to typical beers or wines.

Spanish Long Version - For Formal Acts and/or Ceremonies

¡Despierta, Guayabalense, del sueño de la muerte
en el que te sumieron los tiranos!
Ahora o nunca, fórjate otro destino
ante el cual se inclinen tus enemigos.

Ahora o nunca

English Long version - For Formal Events and/or Ceremonies

Awaken thee, Guayabalense! wake up from deadly slumber
The scourge of inauspicious tyrannies
And now or never to a bright horizon clamber
That shall to shame put all your enemies.

It's now or never that we prove to the world
That in these veins still flows Guayabalense blood
And in our hearts for ever we glorify a name
Triumphant in battles, the name of Ramírez.

Behold, imperial shadows, Barbosa, Hernández, Suárez
At the Guayabalense nation, your mighty progeny
With arms like steel and hearts of fire impetuous
"Live in liberty, or die" that's what they all decree.

Notes

Following a disastrous World Cup 72 Finals, Rule Theriault's National Soccer Team has been returned to him. Theriault previously managed the team for 6 World Cup cycles and, though the 70th World Cup cycle was particularly ugly for his team, Theriault had several impressive accomplishments as the manager of this team. Assembling a team of high school dropouts, reform school stars and other rogues of society, Theriault created a cohesive unit that, at one point, were able to beat the best teams in the multiverse by the sheer power of their belief in themselves and in the inherent superiority of the Republican people. This was never exemplified more than during World Cup 68, when Theriault's predictions that his team would win the World Cup on home soil were laughed at by pretty much everybody outside of his own nation. However, few were laughing when a series of miraculous victories saw the Republicans knock off the supposedly unbeatable Polar Islandstates and earn a spot in the World Cup final. Then, it all began to fell apart as Theriault threw a fit over the decision, by his co-hosts from Legalese, to hold the match in Legalese. The team came out flat in that match and began a decline that eventually led to the nationalization of Theriault's team by Consul Kulseth.

Petrus Fadius was hand-picked by Kulseth to manage the team and he had some success doing so, leading the team to a third place finish at World Cup 71 and to consecutive World Cup qualifications, on merit, for the first time ever. However, the "Holy Republican" National Team did not win a single match at the World Cup 72 finals and Consul Nicholls, after the fall of the Holy Republican regime, returned the ownership of the team to Theriault as one of many actions intended to bring about a restoration of the old Federation of Free Republics.

Theriault has elected not to bring back the Cheerleading Squad for the CE and the only change to his roster is the addition of Connie Chase, the extremely talented young star for Trojana Condommakers in the Quebecois domestic league, who was left off of the team during the previous 2 cycles due to Fadius's belief that women had no place on the soccer pitch.

About Star United States
Tourist Guide
The following an excerpts taken from the official Tourist Guide of Star United States.
Tourist Guide
Welcome to Star United States

Welcome to the land of diversity! The country of Star United States is composed of five districts, which are known as Estrall, Herbeid, Piasxe, Opangue, and Starix. City of Star stands proud as the Starian Capital. Diversity can be found from the small forgotten streets in little towns to the busiest market streets in primate cities, be it food, the people, of the languages. Here in the Starian lands, the most common languages are English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and are spoken throughout the whole region. Portuguese, however, is more common and known on the Starian Islands. There are seven beautiful islands in the West Esportivan Ocean that are known as: Alegria, Ilha do Sur, Ilha Central, Paz, Ilha Recife, Sorriso, and Ilha do Norte. It should also be noted that the official religion of the country is Christianity.

After games with me, you may only RP about clowns. Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can have your team appear on a reality where clowns slap people with rubber chickens, so can you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)

English, French and Aurentine naming conventions are rather standard and follow Western conventions: first name is the given name, second is the family name. Players of English, French and Aurentine ethnicity will generally be referred to by their family names in most contexts, though Jean-Baptiste Couard is a notable exception. Takiari names are somewhat more complicated, consisting of a given name, patronymic and clan name in that order. The patronymic is generally dropped outside of legal contexts, a convention which is reflected on the roster list, while many Takiari players prefer to go by their given names. The names that all players are referred to by when not using full names are in all caps on the roster list.

If I haven’t posted a starting eleven for a particular game, please assume that the standard eleven are being used. You can feel free to make substitutions, so long as they are position for position as explained on the roster list.

Omerica Men’s National Team
Roster for the Fourteenth Campionato Esportiva

Turanga ʻAhipula ʻo ʻOmerika

Port-Alexandre, Philibiscostal 18-A40
Commonwealth of Omerica
In spite of all hopes and expectations, “KRYBEC” proved to be a massive step backwards for the Omerica team. After being put on notice for his side’s horrid showings in the first half of World Cup qualifying, James-Alexandre Christopherson found himself fired as Omerica’s manager for his failure to make it out of the group stage, with most fans giving up hope of making it to a knockout stage of any sort, let alone ever lifting any sort of silverware.

And old face has returned in the wake of Omerica’s demoralising Cup of Harmony elimination in an attempt to put Omerica back on the right track, though few have faith that Jean-Baptiste Archambault can truly save the Omerica squad. With Archambault putting his neck on the line right off the bat, most fear that it is only a matter of time before the once-former manager becomes the “former manager” yet again.

Omerica is a federation of twenty-six cantons in north-western Esportiva. Sharing a long and twisting land border with Varmelle to the west and maritime borders with Nephara and Soltsteed, Omerica has historically been the land of ʻeti Takiari, an Oceanic people famed among outsiders for the near impossibility of pronouncing their language. Quickly carved up into a smorgasbord of petty states upon the arrival of Indo-European peoples, a united geopolitical entity known as “Omerica” was unheard of until the 1820’s, when mounting threats of invasion lead to the ratification of the “Treaty of Friendship and Perpetual Union” by 25 states.

The treaty established a loose confederation to deal with matters of defence and foreign policy, but quickly became racked by indecision and stagnation. With the Confederation appearing easy to prey on, the constituent states made a move towards closer union in the 1890’s, establishing a full federation known as the Commonwealth in 1895, though the isle of Soltsteed notably refused to join and decried the Commonwealth as an illegal usurper regime, though this stance was quickly given up when Omerica and Soltsteed ratified the “Treaty of Free Association” in 1910.

Modern Omerica is run as a federal parliamentary republic, with sovereignty considered to rest in the hands of the people. The Prime Minister, commonly referred to by the Takiari title of Taiʻim Taha, is the de facto leader of the country, though the executive power of the office’s holder is constrained by a powerful upper house, a pluriform multi-party system, the bounds of almost-revered constitutional law and the peculiarities of Omerica’s multi-ethnic society and federal system. Although it has had a rocky history in the country, democracy has been considered the cornerstone of Omerican governance, with the country developing a strong democratic tradition since the ratification of the Basic Law and the establishment of the Commonwealth, commonly ranking as one of the most politically and socially free and open states in the multiverse, with high rates of economic, scientific and cultural development being a point of pride for Omericans.
Roster and Formation of the Men's National Team
Les Oiseaux have historically relied on, and more or less still do rely on, the assembly of an offence that would make most teams green with envy. Despite poor showings in WCQ72 and CoH64, the team has retained its 4-2-1-3 formation in games despite returning to the management of Jean-Baptiste Archambault.

Despite a disappointing Cup of Harmony finish, no changeover in the line-up has taken place since then, with Archambault largely keeing Christopherson’s legacy intact. Archambault, however, has expressed a view towards being more flexible in choosing starting elevens than in past campaigns and abandoning the ordinary formation if necessary, though major deviations from the squad’s base 4-2-1-3 formation seem unlikely at the Campionato.
Staff
Coach: Jean-Baptiste ARCHAMBAULT
The former manager for United Philibiscostal, Archambault led the national team through its formative years in the international scene, but left by mutual consent after an underwhelming performance at the 12th Campionato Esportiva. After a short, but disappointing, return to club management at Royal Martecabras, the TAO rehired Archambault after firing James-Alexandre Christopherson for his failure to guide Omerica out of the Cup of Harmony group stage in KRYBEC. Nonetheless, Archambault has kept many of the changes Christopherson made to the side in his tenure as Omerica manager, even keeping Christopherson’s management team, including one face few people thought would stay.

Assistant Manager: Ryan PRITCHARD
A long-time friend of former manager Christopherson and his assistant at La Corona, Pritchard is said to have the eye for talent that Christopherson and Archambault have been perceived to lack. Nicknamed “el Rey sin Trono” (“the King without a Throne”), rather lovingly by La Corona fans and disparagingly by others, for his management acumen and near-faultless loyalty to Christopherson, Pritchard suprised observers when he abandoned his long-time boss and agreed to stay with the Omerica team as assistant manager under a revived Archambault regime. Nonetheless, Pritchard’s betrayal of his long-time friend and his relative lack of familiarity with Archambault have been seen as signs that Pritchard may not be as influential in the team as he had once been.

NEPHARA
Preferred Formation:
4-3-3
Secondary Formation: 4-4-2
Style Modifier: -1
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell. Capacity of 88,000, no attached club.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

Inarguably one of the best teams in the world and the favourites to win this edition of the Campionato Esportiva. It's not through any single fantastic performance - they've never gotten past the quarterfinal stage, although their last two quarterfinal opponents have been Osarius and Pasarga - just sheer, bloody-minded consistency. But it's been a while since they've won a Campionato, and they're eager for silverware.

The two questions are the relative lack of domestically-based players (eight, with two expected starters) at a time when the league's stronger than ever, as well as the lack of a truly top-class striker... but those are just subplots in the greater scheme of things. The Cormorants expect nothing short of victory this time around.

Overall Record
199 wins - 37 draws - 62 losses
611 scored - 351 conceded

Honours
Champions of the 51st Baptism of Fire, the 6th, 8th and 10th Campionati Esportiva, the 61st Cup of Harmony, Eagle's Cup 5 and Market Cup 6.
Qualified for World Cups 67-68 and 70-72.
Quarterfinalists in WC68, 71 and 72 - the first Esportivan to make it that far.
Ranked 3rd in the world.

Riether is expected to revert to a 4-3-3 formation this campaign, judging by her player selection. With an emphasis on quick movement, heavy physicality and a mixed passing style between traditional fast-paced short-pass-and-move or the option of the long ball, Nephara are an intimidating prospect up front, and the priority is to remain relatively tight at the back. They certainly have the personnel for it, with a very strong midfield, defence and goalkeeper.

Image
When games need the added impetus of a more traditionally Nepharim 4-4-2, Quinn comes on for a midfielder and looks to pounce on second balls that Kellard might produce in a more direct approach from the side.

Theresa RIETHER - 47
Manager
Appearance
Lean, weathered and with a slight but noticeable limp. Angular face, sandy blonde hair. Tends to wear a dress shirt and tie while pacing around the technical area.
Summary Ultra-competitive and priding herself as a tactician, Riether shows a refreshing lack of the wobbles and inconsistencies that have marred Nepharim teams of years past. She'll guarantee wins over the weak teams and might get a result against the strong ones, too - and now the players' belief in and respect for her is absolute. Aims nothing short of bringing forward a Golden Age for Nephara.

Portia THRIFT - 48
Assistant Manager
Appearance
Tall, dark and handsome. Solidly-built.
Summary Elevated from coaching staff, Portia Thrift is a familiar name on Nepharim rosters, just more often seen with a number 1 on her back. Nephara's first great goalkeeper, playing deep into her thirties for Crisisbless, then for Riverside in Saugeias, and winning 78 caps along the way. An iconic player for the Cormorants, and a real leadership figure in the dressing room - she's been there and done that on just about every stage but the World Cup itself.

Franziska RENSENBRINK - 27
Whip
Appearance
A tall, lean woman with sharp features and close-cropped chestnut hair.
Summary Rensenbrink, one of the many daughters of NFA President Markus Rensenbrink, unsurprisingly took a while to win the trust of the staff and players. That said, she's managed to firmly become one of the fixtures of the team. There are limited rumours that her bond with Catheline Stockinger is very strong, whether platonic or romantic - whatever the cast, they're certainly seen together a lot.
1 - Diandra BALLARD - 30 - Image FC Endeavour
67 caps, 26 clean sheets
Appearance
6-foot-even, strongly-built brunette, hair kept long and braided.
Summary Ballard has answered her critics at last, after spending the entire World Cup cycle in truly dominant form. Always a fantastic shot-stopper and suddenly also powerful in the air and decisive in 1v1 situations, as well as an immensely vocal presence in goal, the young woman from Treason has come a long way and looks like she might hold the number 1 shirt for years to come.

12 - Isadora CARAVELLA - 27 - Image FC Brimstone
7 caps, 2 clean sheets
Appearance
5'9", greyhound-thin, lean face and light on her feet. Olive skin and wavy black hair, cut short.
Summary Somewhat notorious for her very late declaration for Nephara - rejecting a callup two years ago to pursue her options with Yttribia, for whom she qualifies as a second-generation immigrant. When no options were forthcoming thanks to the younger, roughly equal in quality and actually Yttribian Totso, Riether persuaded her to make the right choice. A step below Ballard in terms of quality but with the same general skillset as a shotstopper, though she lacks the strapping Treasoner's strength. Played in two World Cup games thanks to a Ballard red card - couldn't do much about Kandorith, but looked solid against the Blouman Empire when called upon.

20 - Steed CORREN - 25 - Image North Laithland
Uncapped
Appearance
Weathered-looking auburn, 5'10" and barrel-chested.
Summary Leading by a nose when it comes to the race to be the next Nepharim No. 1, Corren is perhaps not the man for today but is certainly capable of stepping up. After several decent and then one excellent season for North Laithland, the Project +90 graduate has proven himself to be not only a great shot-stopper, but peerless in the Premiership when it comes both to distribution and ball control with his feet.
2 - Sasha CHRISTENER - 25 - Image Sabrefell Moths
Right-back
45 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
Tall, dark and handsome. Wouldn't look out of place on a pin-up.
Summary Rightback has, historically, been a problem position for Nephara. Christener has put an end to this. Thrust into a key position from a young age, many were skeptical she'd have what it took to succeed, but just as her driving runs from defence have added new dimensions to the Nepharim attack, so too has her defensive work vastly improved. Pace and boundless energy make sure she stays relevant for the full ninety minutes, and she's even good in the air by a fullback's standards.

3 - Catheline STOCKINGER - 28 - Image FC Brimstone
Left-back
74 caps, 7 goals
Appearance
5'5" and greyhound-thin, olive skin with short, straight, dark brown hair.
Summary On the pitch, Stockinger is an ambitious, highly professional young woman who's taken a leading role in this current Cormorant side with her darting runs, her electrifying pace and her great work ethic. Off the pitch, she's courted some cameras - first for an anxiety attack days before the final of the Eagle's Cup which she went on to be the best player on the pitch for, then for (probably) sleeping with Brenecian midfielder Catherine Purrington during the last Campionato Esportiva. Has become a fan favourite largely as a result of this. "Cathy Stockinger, she shags who she wants!"

5 - Hadrian BELFAST (c) - 33 - Image Dwile Warriors
Centre-back
149 caps, 8 goals
Appearance
Powerfully-built man with wavy chestnut hair. Light peppering of stubble - an electric razor man, not a clean-shaver.
Summary It's unfortunate, but true - Hadrian Belfast is set to turn 34 before the next World Cup, and already the slight signs of personal decline are starting to show. But class is permanent, and that's important when you were once considered the best defender in the world - peaking in winning a Player of the Year in the Apox National League, remarkable for anyone, let alone a centre-back. An inspirational captain, strong in the arm, precise in the tackle and generally putting himself in the right positions, Belfast is going to start matches. The only question is, what partner can do the job?

6 - Daniel KRUSE - 25 - Image Firewood City
Centre-back, left-back
19 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, dark and handsome. Lean, long-boned build.
Summary Soft-spoken and calm under pressure, Kruse is highly-rated but yet to truly break through in a green shirt. Still, he's almost certain to get his chance at some stage. Cultured and intelligent, Kruse nevertheless has had his share of fighting through adversity. His experiences with struggling LigAnaia side Firewood City have, while painful, been personally enlightening.

16 - Kurtis RAKERUTH - 24 - Image Goodfeather FC
Left-back
Uncapped
Appearance
Relatively short at 5'6", with a lean, wiry physique and a regrettable emerald earring.
Summary A clean passer and fairly good crosser, but Rakeruth favours just doing a job in defence and keeping it tidy at the back. Exceptionally quick, reading the game well and with a penchant for flying into accurate challenges, Rakeruth might not look like a hard man but he can definitely make his impact felt on a winger. Directly. With his studs.

17 - Malachi ROSEWOOD - 23 - Image North Laithland
Right-back
6 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tanned blond, 5'7" and all lean muscle. Generally wears a black headband.
Summary Surplus to requirements at Maximum Rovers, Rosewood found plenty of suitors but just one that would give him the first-team football he needed. As it happened, he excelled at North Laithland, his pace and stamina gelling well with the energetic Spiders. Well-rounded and with a slightly violent streak, he's got a fair shot at shaking up the fairly static-seeming rightback slot.

19 - Kieran RITTER - 24 - Image Bastion
Centre-back
17 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
5'10", stocky and sandy blond. Spikes his hair with gel these days.
Summary "Describe yourself in a sentence," a local journalist asked Ritter upon his arrival to Eura - the Nepharim U-21 fairly obscure on those shores at the time. Ritter grinned. "Not afraid to get my hands dirty." And so he's proven, the rough-tackling, hard-talking and endless-running centreback giving all the virtues of desperate defending to regular play. He's everywhere, and his studs are in everyone. With Belfast approaching his twilight years, Ritter needs to get used to that green and black shirt. Fast.

22 - Calliope KATSKALIDIS - 23 - Image AFC Treason
Centre-back, defensive midfielder
14 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
5'11", swarthy and with short, thick, wavy hair. Scar on one cheek.
Summary Given a chance to shine and the number 6 at the Campionato Esportiva, Katskalidis played every game but didn't quite convince, and after a chastening season at club level might well have it all to do again. Has all the physical gifts one could ask, and a hard and precise tackler, but not quite with the mental strength or decision-making one would hope of an international defender.
4 - Logan MURDOCH - 29 - Image RSK Longyearbyen Town (PIS)
Holding Midfielder
66 caps, 12 goals
Appearance
Tall, athletic sandy blond, with an angular face and a prominent, hooked nose.
Summary Half-Licentian and born in the immigrant-heavy suburb of Violence, in Sabrefell, Murdoch is the sort of player who keeps the midfield ticking over with blue-collar grit and work ethic. Not afraid to get stuck in, Murdoch excels at unsettling opponents and throwing his weight around, and he has a knack of arriving late into the box and powering headers past unsuspecting goalkeepers. Despite the recent mass exodus from the Polar league after the recent storms, Murdoch honoured his contract and refused to agitate for a move away.

8 - Elaine ASHDOWN (vc) - 26 - Image Hastmead Diamante
Central Midfielder
57 caps, 18 goals
Appearance
5'8" of sleek, lean muscle, with black hair cut to the shoulder.
Summary One of the leading lights of recent history, Elaine Ashdown has gone from strength to strength. An all-rounder who devotes everything to the team with good pace, limitless stamina, two good feet, decent strength, genuine tenacity and football intelligence, a fine tackle, an eye for goal and a spectacular passing range make her an essential part of the team, first name on the sheet every time. To nobody's surprise, designated vice-captain.

14 - Rook BRANAGH - 24 - Image Lajuno
Central Midfielder
9 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Average height, weight and looks, livened up only by a peroxide-blond undercut.
Summary From Treason but with a distinctly Euran tint to his accent, Branagh had some big shoes to fill in terms of Nepharim at Euran clubs. He's done so peerlessly, with a combination of muscle, graft, a gift for clean passing and an eye for goal. Happy to do his part without demanding a front-line role. Like Gawain, more used to a position further forward, but will have all the support he needs to flex his playmaking muscles.

18 - Tanith RAINSFORD - 23 - Image Mâ Âlâmëómë
Holding Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
5'9", vaguely androgynous with a stylish sandy blonde undercut.
Summary Rainsford has learned from the best. Direct understudy to Roque Acosta and finding plenty of time on the pitch thanks to Treason's obsessive desire to fight on as many tournaments as possible, a failure to even qualify for UICA was Rainsford's cue to depart. Immensely talented, a solid anchor woman and with a stunning passing range, it may have taken a while for Rainsford to get a cap but there is no doubt she's up for the task now. The one weakness? She's not the fastest, but even then her ability to read the game usually compensates.

21 - Rowan GAWAIN - 27 - Image Sabrefell Athletic
Central Midfielder
19 caps, 7 goals
Appearance
Pale and cleanshaven, with chestnut hair and a small Celtic cross tattoo on one cheek.
Summary Rowan Gawain's one flaw has always been that he needs support in midfield, and he's only ever looked comfortable playing in the hole, besides. But as Riether recently said, "you have to craft a national team around the players available to you," and to leave out Gawain again would be a tragedy given his recent form. He genuinely does have everything as far as attacking gifts go - perfect passing range, a knack for scoring goals and a penchant for dictating the tempo, keeping the ball moving as the runners around him need it. Not exactly a pushover, either, and more than capable of bringing traditional Nepharim muscle to the party. It remains to be seen how well he'll adapt to a new formation.

23 - Kirsten CLIVING - 27 - Image Sabrefell Moths
Central midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
5'7" with a sturdy build and short, spiky hair. A natural blonde who favours bright colours - right now, teal.
Summary A surprise addition to the team when Kestrel was cut, Cliving's pedigree doesn't lend itself to comparison. Daughter of Anna Cliving, a prominent Nepharim winger capped many times in the pre-UICA era for whom the BoF came just a little too soon (currently manager of Coret Hawks), Cliving's name might be nostalgia-friendly but her style is all her own. A driving, forceful midfield presence, Cliving may resent any comparisons as a 'poor man's Ashdown', but that's more or less the role she's here to fill.
7 - Brendan RIVERS - 27 - Image FC Endeavour
Right Winger
28 caps, 6 goals
Appearance
Tall, muscular brunet, well-tanned and with sharp cat-green eyes.
Summary A tough Laith native, and it shows in his play. Rivers excels at breaking down the right and hitting those early crosses, but he has a good, well-varied skillset and a tendency to work just as hard to defend as he does in attack. Less of a threat when shooting from distance, he's occasionally happy to drift in at the far post for a cheap header - unusual for a winger in that he's happier on the receiving end of a free kick than taking it.

9 - Michael KELLARD - 25 - Image Emberton Reds
Striker
24 caps, 10 goals
Appearance
A tall, broad-shouldered, rough-looking man with auburn hair and heavy stubble.
Summary A big lad up top, strong and rough and very comfortable playing with his back to goal. Prefers to finish his chances himself, all things equal, but he's unselfish when he has to be and makes an ideal target man up the top. Showed a ferociously competitive streak during the World Cup that made him an internet sensation, and while he only scored the one goal, his thankless hard work in front of goal created space for others.

10 - Kurtis QUINN - 28 - Image AFC Treason
Striker
40 caps, 24 goals
Appearance
Just 5'8", with a wiry but sturdy build and short blond hair.
Summary A favourite for club and country, Quinn has won plaudits for his scoring prowess in the Premiership. Built on sheer pace, energy, a leap like a salmon and an instinctive way of finding the goal, Quinn's short frame defies the fact that he's as much of a threat aerially as on the ground, and he'll get goals from either avenue. No great technician, doesn't add to other phases of play, but when Kurtis Quinn is on the pitch, goals happen. That said, not so much of a lone striker - was used more as an impact substitute throughout the last cycle, and managed a World Cup goal off the bench.

11 - Andrea CAWDOR - 23 - Image Hastmead Diamante
Left Winger
15 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
5'3" and lithe, with dark brown shoulder-length braids.
Summary A revelation in the World Cup despite a quiet opening game, Cawdor went from obscurity with Crisisbless United to perpetual LigAnaia title-chasers Hastmead Diamante. Admittedly, this was probably because they lost Tanya Bottlegreen and wanted the closest thing to Tanya Bottlegreen they could find. Cawdor is scarily quick, one of the best in the world at the timeless 'knock ball past fullback and run really fast after it' strategy and lethal both while crossing and going for goal, though she lacks Bottlegreen's enviable two-footedness. Still, she's determined not to stay in her fellow winger's shadow.

13 - Tanya BOTTLEGREEN - 27 - Image AC Izotz Zubia
Either-sided Winger
44 caps, 13 goals
Appearance
A runner's lean build, with a pale complexion and very dark brown-black hair and dark green eyes.
Summary Rather unlike her swashbuckling persona on the pitch, Bottlegreen tends to be quiet and professional off it, and shies from the cameras. A winger equally good on either flank, Bottlegreen's remarkably good with either foot, fancies herself to go for goal and is, in general, a terrifyingly unpredictable prospect for fullbacks to cope with. A standout performer in recent years.

15 - Sigmund LEVY - 27 - Image Vermillion Rage
Striker
9 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
A mulletted, moustached mountain of a man. True old school.
Summary A depth option, but a useful one to have. Levy is... well, he's 6'7". Not the best technically or with his feet, nor is he quick - but he'll stand his ground against anyone and is happy to lay chances out for strike partners rather than demanding them all himself. Definitely capable of getting goals and laying on assists, but is perhaps not an international-quality striker.

BRENECIA
Preferred Formation:
4-2-3-1
Style Modifier: +2
Home Stadium: Kingsgarden - recently refurbished, a 58,000 all-seater in the capital of Rozelle.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: the Patriots

Thrown into the hot seat, new manager Sasha Bale has gone all-out. Out, specifically, go some of Brenecia's aging best players like Scherzer, Connolly and Breton, and in comes a broad policy of youth and a return to the aggression of old, as well as a formation designed mostly to just take advantage of Brenecia's strengths. With a highly-controversial squad selection and an unproven manager most recently fired from Kingsgrove, expectations are low.

Overall Record
96 wins - 51 draws - 65 losses
359 scored - 290 conceded

Most Caps
121 - Miriam Spitfire
117 - Sam Allbeck
93 - Erin Camden
91 - Augustine Breton
89 - Cheney Scherzer

Most Goals
48 - Cheney Scherzer
38 - Brad Kuepper
23 - Miriam Spitfire
22 - Catherine Purrington, [i]Erin Camden

21 - Isadora Cullen, Larissa Connolly

First Team and Tactics
Image

Bale is expected to favour the 4-2-3-1 used with Kingsgrove, relying on a single quick striker, a fluid three attacking midfielders behind them and quick, ambitious passing to get through defences. With two versatile central midfielders behind them and a defensive unit that isn't exactly the strongest, Brenecia will do well just to outscore every opponent they face. It should, at least, be attractive.

Sasha BALE - 42
Manager
Appearance
A smallish, fairly pointy brunette, well-tanned and with a penchant for dress shirts.
Summary Bale has held one job - manager of Kingsgrove. She took them through some good years, continuing the philosophy of youthful, attacking football relying on quick movement, but ultimately she was fired after a steady slide soon after the Brenecia-Mareibat merger. Having worked for a long time as the assistant manager under Bardsley and been her direct successor at club level, she is largely regarded as the Bardsley-lite option. Her approach to squad selection seems to be to rip off the bandaid of transition and get it over with as soon as possible.

Fiona SYLVER - 41
Assistant Manager
Appearance
A well-freckled ginger, 5'8" and still quite lean.
Summary A much-loved former captain of Brenecia, veteran of its ill-fated Baptism of Fire, Sylver was a calculated choice for a manager who desperately needs to earn respect. By all accounts, has a highly-refined tactical mindset as well, and took to coaching like a duck to water. Right now, though, she will almost certainly be needed to stick the squad together more than to make arrows on a chalkboard.
1 - Geneva URQUHART - 27 - Image SC Kiel
22 caps, 8 clean sheets
Appearance
Just 5'7", pointy-faced, stereotypically green-eyed and freckled ginger with short hair.
Summary A dark horse and eye-catching late riser to the challenge for the Patriots, with great reflexes and an unnerving way to get to shots no matter what. Great distribution and ability with her feet form about 90% of a complete product. The problem is that she's obviously pretty poor aerially, and she is just a little error-prone. Was the standout player of a chastening World Cup cycle, and is the only credible number 1 Brenecia can call on.

12 - Olenna KNIGHT - 30 - Image Kingsgrove
Uncapped
Appearance
Tall, lean and quick on her feet, with a long, angular face and long brown hair.
Summary Knight is a good and reliable shot-stopper, but her energy coming out of goal, ability to keep calm with the ball at her feet and fantastic distribution have steaded her well with Kingsgrove. Not world-class, but certainly good enough to hold down her place. Her one weak point is that she can be a little flappy when coming out for crosses.

20 - Sheila CANNON - 25 - Image South Rathia
Uncapped
Appearance
5'11", athletically-built and with a scruffy mop of dark brown hair.
Summary A decent goalkeeper and a very good shot-stopper, Cannon is decidedly uncomfortable with the ball at her feet while being exceptionally violent when coming out of the net to claim the ball. Is, at least, reasonably reliable, but it's fair to say that the Patriots will rely on Urquhart to stay fit and not be suspended.
2 - Scout GIVEN - 26 - Image Firewood City
Right-back
32 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall, lean and angular sandy blonde with very deep brown eyes.
Summary Quick-witted and light on her feet, Given is the sort of reliable defensive fullback that is a genuine panacea to the Patriots' defensive woes. A journeywoman who has played for five different clubs in three different countries, Given is decent going forward but prefers to hunt down wingers and lock down the flank. Passionate and aggressive, occasionally to a fault.

3 - Gerry DUFFY - 25 - Image Bellight FC
Left-back
16 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Short and scruffy. Cat-green eyes, sandy blond hair, and two sleeve tattoos.
Summary Born in Nephara to Brenecian migrant parents, Duffy developed out of the Coret Hawks academy (and still has the accent), and after two seasons starting regularly in the Premiership saw him take new, bold strides as a player he was snapped up by Bellight after relegation. He may not be the most technical player out there, but he's quick, strong, happy to take beatings and to dish them out.

5 - Orson FAULKNER (c) - 30 - Image AC Izotz Zubia
Centre-back, right-back
74 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
Weathered-looking auburn man with rough-hewn features.
Summary A heroic performer for Zozi in the LigAnaia, Faulkner's equally comfortable at centre- and rightback and could probably do a job on the left, or in defensive midfield. A daring defender who likes to step up into the midfield and play the ball, but also very capable at just sticking tight to his mark and keeping them out of the game. Probably the best defender on the team, new captain after Camden wasn't picked, and something of a goal threat, too - he scored twice from set pieces during the last Campionato Esportiva.

6 - Brandon DUGUID - 24 - Image Mallox
Centre-back
23 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
Classically athletic, with short auburn hair, stubble and piercing blue eyes.
Summary A genuine prospect on a declining Kingsgrove team, Duguid surprised many by moving to Haerlighet Ligan champions Mallox. "I'm just looking for a new challenge," claimed the centreback, and the idea of helping the sleeping giant of the Cosumarite league achieve in UICA was one that appealed to him. He's a skilled centreback, not prone to mistakes and calm in possession, with a passing range one would sooner associate with a midfielder.

13 - Gretchen COLBACK - 25 - Image Lotus Park
Centre-back
6 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lanky, rather awkward blonde. Prone to making unflattering, photoshoppable faces in the heat of the match.
Summary Might not be the obvious choice to help Brenecia's defensive woes, but Colback combines workrate and pace with the traditional virtues of strength and aerial prowess. A liability with the ball at her feet and perhaps not the cleanest tackler, but one way or another Colback generally gets the ball clear of danger. The league's most frequent fouler last season - not especially dirty, but she just tends to clatter people.

17 - Fiona BERENGER - 28 - Image Crisisbless
Right-back
68 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
A lanky, long-legged blonde. Small snake tattoo around her left wrist.
Summary An aggressive, attack-minded, nippy little fullback, used to providing width in a narrow Crisisbless side, and ideally suited to overlapping a side like this. Something of a two-trick pony with her pace and crossing, and can occasionally be suspect in defence, but adds a lot of dimension to this team.

19 - Julian COLLINGWOOD - 25 - Image Hastmead Diamante
Left-back
Uncapped
Appearance
A curly-haired good ol' boy, with striking brown eyes, solid-looking face and a barrel-chested physique.
Summary A versatile and energetic leftback currently enjoying life on Hastmead Diamante's bench, Collingwood may be a depth option but he's definitely capable enough to mount a good case for the national team. Capable of playing as a wingback, Collingwood's a good all-rounder, and has a knack for dangerous looping crosses to the far post.

22 - Ash KILCANE - 29 - Image North Hall
Centre-back
24 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, strong and lean, with braided auburn hair.
Summary A devilishly fast player, Kilcane's no brute, but she can more than hold her own. A player most at home hanging tightly to her mark, harrying and lashing out at them over the course of the match, and rarely caught out of position - though her single-mindedness can occasionally count against her. Has been in and around the national team for a long time without ever really stamping a leading role in it.
4 - Lilith FIFE - 27 - Image Kingsgrove
Holding Midfielder
11 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lean, 5'2" ginger, with a once-broken nose that never really set properly.
Summary The diminutive Fife is a ferocious terrier - of course, she has the passing range one would expect of a Kingsgrove player, but just as crucial is her harrying tendencies, going right for the ankles and simply refusing to be knocked off the ball herself by anything short of a shove. A cunt.

7 - Isadora CULLEN - 28 - Image Barbury Town
Right Attacking Midfielder, striker
75 caps, 20 goals
Appearance
Pale brunette with a sharp, ferretty face.
Summary A sharp, quick and intelligent winger. Some disagreed with her decision to leave Kingsgrove, where she was dazzling the (then much weaker) A-League, to join ANL high-fliers Barbury Town. Initially a squad player, she eventually fought her way into the starting lineup, though usually as a striker. Swift, technically adept, decisive at whipping in crosses and, crucially, a good finisher, Cullen has so often made the difference for Brenecia in the past - scoring, for example, their first ever World Cup goal. She will doubtless be needed again.

8 - Diandra KILBANE - 27 - Image Crisisbless
Holding Midfielder
33 caps, 6 goals
Appearance
6', angular auburn. Darting cat-green eyes.
Summary When called upon to make the step up to the Nepharim Premiership, Kilbane did not disappoint, dazzling her way into the starting XI of Crisisbless and never letting go. Has undoubtedly become a better player for the experience - not just an optimistic playmaker now, but a quick, decisive and intelligent game-winner who runs the channels and gets the ball moving forward. Will likely be the foil to the immobile Purrington.

10 - Catherine PURRINGTON - 27 - Image Wye United
Central Attacking Midfielder
71 caps, 22 goals
Appearance
A short, rather stocky, unathletic woman with a short mop of dark brown hair.
Summary Short, overweight, slow, one-footed. But what a foot. Purrington is pure technique and grace, the foil to more or less the entire rest of the team, with a touch that can be every bit as delicate or vicious as the situation demands. Contributes goals and assists by the bucket against even the strongest opposition, and is undoubtedly their best player in terms of ability, if not necessarily overall. Forms a vicious partnership with Scherzer.

11 - Dani PENDRAGON - 27 - Image Northern Union
Left Attacking Midfielder
24 caps, 6 goals
Appearance
Average height and build, with short blonde hair and pale green eyes.
Summary A fairly conventional winger, quick and with silky technique. A product of Northern Union's academy - a side more known for buying than developing talent, but Pendragon has regularly started them since she was twenty, and the rapid, physical pace of the A-League suits her. Scored a hattrick on her debut - hasn't scored since. But if she keeps cutting open defences like she's done in the past, and always does for her club, the goals will come.

14 - Hecate CHARING - 29 - Image Rozelle
Holding Midfielder
18 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
A six-foot-one hazel-eyed blonde, lean and muscular with an angular face.
Summary With the best passing range in the A-League, Charing's ability to find the perfect pass can cut A-League defences apart, and it's a handy skill at international level too. She's a capable all-rounder in other aspects, pulling her weight respectably until the critical moment she puts her clinical passing into action. A born leader, and a perfect penalty-taker.

16 - Laura GALLOWAY - 26 - Image Rozelle
Central Attacking Midfielder
6 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
Unremarkable-looking brunette, but with bright blue eyes. Bony build.
Summary A gamechanging player. Galloway's the type to belt forward as soon as she takes hold of the ball and get it moving somewhere dangerous, always looking for a killer pass. Not that she's averse to striking out on her own and getting goals, either - and she's fast, too, with a way of getting into the right positions and running into channels. At her weakest out of possession, and a poor tackler.

18 - Adelaide SWAIN - 26 - Image Rozelle
Right Attacking Midfielder
20 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
Stereotypically freckled pale ginger, with a flashy undercut hairstyle.
Summary Swain's form has been patchy for the national team - sometimes she makes the difference, sometimes she's infuriatingly invisible. Swain's one real consistent skill is to hit the ball past the fullback and run really fast after it, but whether or not she can do anything past that point is a mystery. Still, she generally creates enough chances to get in one decisive cross or shot per match - and when she's on song, she can win a match.

21 - Cathy BLACKSLATE - 25 - Image Harmonica Tundra
Holding Midfielder
6 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall blonde, athletically-built and with a striking face.
Summary One of the only real all-rounders in a generation, it seems, of playmakers. Blackslate's seen her share of adversity with Westpike, and surprised many with a move to midtable stragglers Harmonica Tundra - but she thrives under pressure, and loves making the difference between victory and defeat. Is she an international-quality midfielder? That remains to be seen, but it can't hurt to find out. Surprisingly, Bale seems to want to try her out in a midfield partnership with similarly-versatile Kilbane after Blackslate's success at lifting Tundra to the top three.

23 - Naphtali THATCHER - 22 - Image Iskara Daii
Left Attacking Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
Dark-eyed, long-boned and tall, with wavy brown hair. Looks every bit the kind of solid country boy you'd take home to your parents.
Summary Hailing from approximately the middle of nowhere, Thatcher isn't most people's idea of the modern footballer. Honest, steadfast and devoutly Protestant, Thatcher dazzled the A-League for two seasons like a Roman candle before moving to the LigAnaia. Not a flashy player, moving more or less in straight or diagonal lines either towards goal or to provide the cross and using both pace and unnaturally
9 - Sheila MADDON - 25 - Image Sabrefell Moths
Striker
14 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
A 5'5", wiry auburn with a small, round face but piercing blue eyes.
Summary With a Brenecian mother, former Nephara U-21 international Maddon came out of nowhere to land into prominence after some consistent performances in the Premiership. Insanely quick (probably the fastest on the team) she's a consistent finisher marred only by a white-hot temper and a tendency to throw off her shirt during goal celebrations. Where she lacks is physicality, though she's a little too unafraid to stick her boot in.

15 - Ursula RANKIN - 22 - Image Centre for Excellence
Striker
Uncapped
Appearance
Blunt snub-nose, round face, stocky build, squinty green eyes, mop of dirty blonde hair. Stands an even 5'6".
Summary The most controversial part of an already-controversial squad selection? All-time leading scorer Scherzer omitted, Rankin - who has never played for a senior team and has spent her entire playing career to date in the ANL3 - brought in. She's exceptionally quick, a lethal finisher and despite not even remotely having the right height for it she's a powerful header of the ball, and her delicate close control when in possession is a joy to watch. But is the FC Endeavour reserve player ready for the big-time? Perhaps it's for the best that Cullen is expected to be the second-choice striker, with Rankin anticipated to be around for the experience more than for cover.

The stage is set, the fireworks have gone off and Queen Lana's new album is number one worldwide, it's time.

This is the first cutoff for the Fourteenth Edition of the Campionato Esportiva, may the odds be ever in your favour.

THE COLONY OF THE FHULGHAMOUS PENINSULA
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

The Colony of the Fhulghamous Peninsula was first established on 6 December 2008, when Fleftic explorers landed on what was then a previously undiscovered continent. These explorers landed on a large peninsula that they named Fhulghamous because of its rich and lush green forests. One of the explorers then fell into an old mine shaft while exploring the peninsula and discovered that the entire peninsula was lying on top of one of the biggest diamond deposits ever discovered by mankind. Once the explorers announced their discovery to the Fleftic government, the Democratic Republic Army Corps of Engineers was quickly dispatched to help speed up the establishment of the colony by helping in constructing settlements and assisting in constructing mining facilities to extract the diamonds within the land.

The Colony of the Fhulghamous Peninsula was officially established as a colony of the Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft on 6 September 2010 following the signing of Democratic Republic Act No. 2340. The colony's capital would be Port Thimpodopoulos, named after Sergeant Major Pythagoras Thimpodopoulos of the Army Corps of Engineers, who tragically died of a heart attack during the construction of the settlement that would eventually bear his name. Today, Port Thimpodopoulos has a population of ten million, accounting for just under half of the total population of the colony. Other cities in the colony were Besanza, Tadoki, Haritzaga City and Thereisnogodabad, home of Multiverse Premier League club Thereisnogodistan FC.

The colony is under the leadership of Governor-General Petrarchos Kulbano, brother of Minister of Colonial Affairs Demetrios Kulbano. His rule saw the Fhulghamous Peninsula's ascent to being one of the most economically-productive colonies of the Democratic Republic, but due to the colony's distance from the mainland Governor Kulbano is slowly beginning to treat the colony as his own personal fiefdom. This was one of the reasons why he had decided to send forth a petition to send a national team to the Di Bradini Cup, the Multiverse's top under-21 football competition. Unfortunately due to some last-minute troubles, the Fhulghamous Peninsula's team was not allowed entry into the Di Bradini Cup, leaving many people in the colony a bit unfulfilled. But when another chance to send forth a national team revealed itself, Governor Kulbano was quick to submit his team's entry, and this time he made sure that the wouldn't miss out on another chance at participating in an international competition.

The current team is mostly composed of players 21 years old or younger, since Governor Kulbano originally envisioned this team participating in the Di Bradini Cup. Any players older than 21 were supposed to be coaching staff for the attempt at the U-21 Cup, but circumstances had forced to suiting up for their colony for this tournament. Nevertheless, everyone believes they've got what it takes to win it all.

CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVE XIV: SAN JOSE GUAYABAL VS FHULGHAMOUS PENINSULA

By Malik Qazizadah

Rashidunnin Ali of the Fhulghamous Peninsula stretches out in an attempt to save a shot from San Jose Guayabal. Despite good play from the Fhulghamousian players, the Guayabalense still came out on top as 2-0 winners. (Courtesy of Crescent News Network Sports Channel/Ulysses Turogo)

SAN CARLOS, THE SARIAN - Despite good offensive and defensive play from the Fhulghamous Peninsula, San Jose Guayabal proved to be too much for the Colonists and the Guayabalenses ran away 2-0 winners at The Sarian's Moody Brooke.

Fhulghamous never looked like the same side that had given the Blouman Empire back-to-back defeats in the recent World Cup qualifiers and instead looked more like a side from a country that was just about to play internationally for the first time. Still, once those early few minutes of nerves had gone the Fhulghamous looked much, much better. Still, the Guayabalenses were loads and loads better and simply a class above the Fhulghamousians, and this was proved by an impressive volley from Rodolfo Zelaya to give the veteran international team the lead in just the fifteenth minute.

Fhulghamous clambered to get a goal back, with Mephistopheles launching a powerful shot in front of the goal, but Abraham Terrazas was relieved to see the ball curling up to the bar and above. Sebastiano Pelucci had his shot saved by Terrazas, but only after it had taken a deflection from James Moreira.

In the second half, Fhulghamous looked to get going hot, but San Jose Guayabal's defense held firm and denied the Fhulghamousians as best they could. But that didn't mean that the Colonists weren't able to scare the Guayabalense keeper, and Kieran Moskowitz's rocket from between the half-line and the box troubled Terrazas, but only for the amount of time it took to travel from Moskowitz's foot to the near post of Terrazas' goal.

Sean Fraser closed off the game for San Jose Guayabal with a brilliant side foot shot to get past Rashidunnin Ali to double his team's lead and hand the game all the way over to SJG.

Polkopian National Football Team
"The Slashers"

The Polkopian Football Association is a relatively new organization which serves as the governing body for the Polkopian Premier League, as well as the Polkopian National Team itself. All players who were called up for the World Cup currently play in the Polkopian Premier League, making Polkopia one of the only nations competing whose players all compete in the same league.

The "Hanisov Stadiona", or Hanisov Stadium, is the home stadium for the Polkopian National Football Team. The stadium itself is relatively new, having only just been built five years ago, and seats a total of 78,000 spectators. The stadium had been originally constructed to field the club team, Peeto Gordost', but the PFA, or Polkopian Football Association, changed it last minute. The views from the stands pictured here and here assure a great-quality view from nearly any angle.

Editorial: Keep the Environment, Local People in Mind
Tahiry Ranavelona, desperate for money to pay for his children's education, agreed to lease logging rights on his land to a large multinational corporation for which he thought was a tidy sum. The day after he signed the contract, the company moved in with large machines that started to cut down every tree in sight. When the company's lease was up, every tree on the land was gone. Every plant was gone. Every animal was gone. The previously vibrant forest ecosystem was gone. Before the logging company came in, Ranavelona had hunted and gathered to help feed and support his family. After the company, he could not; this avenue of support was gone. He is glad that his children get the education they deserve, but he regrets the price he paid.

Village elders in the village of Kosoavo worry about the health and safety of their citizens. There is a large, open-pit copper mine near their village. Not only does the mine discharge their residue from mining - muck, sludge, poison - into a pool right next to the river running through the village, the dam holding back the pool is about to break. When it does give out, there will be no safeguards protecting the town, and the mess the mining company created will enter the river, killing the fish and poisoning the village's water supply. Even though the elders opposed the mine for this very reason, the government, beholden to the mining company's interests, went through with the project, because it promised to be a large earner of foreign capital for the country.

These kinds of stories are all too common in Racao. When companies come into a previously pristine environment, they destroy it through their rapacious greed. They show no concern for the environment or for the people who live there. They only concern themselves with money and an insatiable lust for it. Our country should show concern for the environment and its people before it lets companies come in and destroy it. But companies do not have to destroy the environment in order to profit from it. They can operate sustainably and even help to protect the environment while extracting profit - but short-sighted greed and desire for profit instead of long-term thinking unfortunately are the rule rather than the exception.

In the short term, these projects do benefit the economy, just as the government claims. They create valuable jobs and bring money into the country. However, the government and the companies need to think about the long-term implications of their rape-and-run policy. When logging companies come in to chop down the entire forest, they destroy the entire ecosystem of rare and endangered animals and plants. Not only are the valuable trees cut down, but they also cut down the trees that support the entire rainforest community. It will take years - decades - even centuries - to grow back. If this continues with the entire forest, Racao's biodiversity will be lost forever.

Not only are their concerns about biodiversity in the logging industry, there are also practical concerns for the people living in the rainforest. Locals hunt and trap animals living in the forest, gather fruits and nuts, and use the forest to build and repair homes, tools, and other necessities. When the forest is gone, locals will no longer be able to use these resources that previously were available, and the removal of trees often makes eking out a living there worse. To add injury to injury, removal of trees causes increased runoff, more erosion, and a lack of protection against floods and other cataclysmic weather events; the soil also is infertile for farming when trees are cut down. Not only do local people lose income and resources, but the world at large loses possible medicinal benefits from rainforest plants.

However, logging companies can still make money and operate sustainably at the same time. Trees are renewable, so companies can always re-plant one (or more) tree for each tree they cut down. Other solutions include cutting down and removing trees by helicopter - not by access roads that totally destroy ability of wildlife to move across - and valuable habitat, cutting down only the trees that a company needs (not clear-cutting the entire forest and the habitat), and harvesting only the amount of trees that can be replaced by natural regrowth. When companies act sustainably, they can still make a profit, but their short-term desire for as much profit with as little cost precludes any long-term solutions which are necessary to ensure protection.

Another solution to reduce excess cutting is to enforce protection laws and reduce illegal cutting. Racao should protect its most valuable rainforest and cloud forest, including salient attractions, as national parks, and open them up to limited ecotourism - so visitors can both learn about the splendor and majesty of Racao's forest and raise awareness about their need for protection. Racao also needs to limit the amount of trees that can be cut down in a certain area and enforce these limits, as well as existing permit and lease systems. Illegal logging has a huge cost, both to the environment and the economy - the environment loses precious trees and habitat, and the economy loses royalties, lease payments, and any share of the sale of the logs at all, as well as value added by cutting up and processing these logs.

These same problems with the rape-and-run attitude are also present in the case of the large mining companies. Executives back at home think of striking the motherload in Racao's rich reserves of copper, palladium, gold, rare earths, tungsten, and other precious minerals - but they rarely pause to think at the effect their mines have on the environment and on local communities. Mining releases toxic wastes into waterways - including the river near Kosoavo. These wastes poison rivers and the organisms that both live in them and depend on them. Toxic metals and acids leak out of pools and into the atmosphere, damaging peoples' and ecosystems' health. Not only do mines' wastes cause environmental impact, but the mines themselves destroy habitat as well. With mines in the area, an ecosystem can be irreparably damaged and scarred, and locals' health is in significant jeopardy.

Racao can do several things to reduce the impact of wastes and mines on the environment. One, it can forbid or severely restrict open-pit mines, which have a huge scarring effect on the ecosystem. Secondly, it can require financial assurances from mining companies to help clean up the messes they leave. Often, once a mine closes, the mining companies leave their waste dumps sitting around. This must be cleaned up, and water must be treated in order to be safe. The companies that caused the mess need to help clean it up instead of leaving the cost to a government that cannot afford it. Finally, Racao should require restoration of mines as they are being dug - with one area depleted, the companies should have to restore it to the natural environment.

Unfortunately, logging and mining - two resource extraction activities that form a mainstay of Racao's economy - are operated in unsustainable manners. Companies take all they can and then leave without paying the costs. As a result, both the environment and local people suffer from the depredations of foreign companies. Racao has a duty to protect its environment and its people, and companies have the same duty. Both can do their part to help the environment: the government should establish national parks and regulations against these companies, and companies can operate sustainably. It's a win-win when companies operate with regard for the environment and people: money and jobs for locals, and money for companies. If the companies operate sustainably, the environment can win as well, but if they don't, everyone in Racao is losing, and only foreign companies are winning.

The Next Phase - Chapter 1

Postby Star United States » Sat Aug 22, 2015 1:47 pm

The Next Phase
Chapter I

Intro
Some people may never be pleased. Those are the ones who plan their schemes in the dark. The ones who plan chaos in a world of peace.

The so-called, Starian Communist Party, could not wait any longer of them to seize control over the control. Democracy, their enemy, had ruled over Star United States, since the beginning of its sovereignty. Nonetheless, they did grasp some power under the Blun Communist State, but that was a short period of time. They had a plan, a complex one. They decided to use the time of reconstruction, that is for the better of the country, against the country. Knowing that they had one way to clench the power, they were ready for bloodshed.

SeaShore City, Estrall - The once magnificent city had started to become adapted to its reconstruction phase. Local business and schools started to reopen, and the community started to come out of their shells. Life was commencing to become normal, as they say.

"Mom! Look, they're coming home," Max, a nine-year old boy, shouted as he pointed to the planes the were overhead. With the Starian Seal, many of the civilians of the city came out with happiness to receive part of the Starian Air Force in gratefulness. Everyone was happy. The well-designed aircrafts past overheard the city rather rapid.

"Mommy! Daddy is coming home," Max claimed with a soft, sweet voice.

"Yes my dear, yes," reply his mom as a tear ran down her face as she watched the planes get closer the the base on the opposing side of the harbor. Getting exicted, she rose from her seat on the front steps of her house, and entered it. She walked up a narrow stairway, and slid her fingers across the family picture. Her husband, her two children, and herself. Entering the room of the youngest child, she heard a disturbing noise. The noise instantly brought back memories to her mind of the Pastistani and Gregoryisgodistani Raids against the city. She flew down the stairs and into her balcony. In the distance, she could see a pillar of smoke steadily rising into the sky. Her heart fell. The same storm that killed her youngest child was coming back again.

Within moments, the sirens of the city were ringing. The peaceful city was no longer in peace. The mother quickly ran outside and grabbed her child, Max. She ran out back with him in her hands. She turned back and look towards the sky, the planes were coming towards the city! She got the to the two metal doors far in her back yard, and jumped in. She snatched it closed, and proceed to go down the long stairway.

"Mom," Max whispered, "What's happening?" The mother grasped for breath, as she sat on a step. Boom! Everything shook, and instantly, they descended into the darkness.
