I hear you, Daircoill.

My concern is the Greens doing a Meg Lees after the election; and then a PM Abbott getting WorkEvenMore-Choices through in exchange for beads and blankets.

The Greens preselected a sawmill owner in Tasmania. I don't have a problem with that (plantation timber), but it shows how far they will bend their principles for power...

Macarthur? The guy that Truman fired for publicly contradicting him? Not exactly a person of unimpeachable character.

And this makes even less sense.

MacArthur was sufficiently ignorant of military protocol (or, more likely, had developed a sufficient God complex) to publicly criticise his Commander-in-Chief as a serving officer. Not at all a smart move, and not something that inspires confidence in a twice-removed "quote" from him.

1. I want to see a source before I believe he said it.
2. Even if he said it, I don't have a lot of confidence in him.

Why didn't you have confidence in him? He would never have made General of the Army, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in the Pacific in WWII or Commander in chief of UN Command during the Korean War had he not been a competent commander.

He was dismissed in 1951 well after WWII.

It is about the Australian's government not caring and unwilling to save WA and talking about past precendent of the case.

Close. I am referring to the fact that, historically, the Labor Party has consistently tried to centralise the government (I point to you the Uniform Tax I case, the Tasmanian Dams case, the Engineers' Case (yes, I know that Billy Hughes was a political pimp, but....) and several others), as well as, yes, the fact that said central government is absolutely useless when it comes to doing anything that helps WA.

...Letting a singer becoming a politician? That's what bothers you? That Rudd didn't pass some tyrannical law saying anyone who has ever sung professionally can never enter politics?

It's a free country, you can make that change in careers if you want.

Basically, you're ill-informed, incapable of coherency, utterly unable to put together a post lacking spelling errors...

Please stop posting on politics until at least one of the following:
* You're old enough to vote.
* You can spell.
* You know how to debate without spewing mindless soundbytes that suggest you've merely swallowed and regurgitated the opinions of others in an even more garbled form.
Really, it's for your own good, because you don't even seem to realise how absurd your posts are.

Well said. One of the beautiful things about living in a democratic society is that anyone and everyone gets an opportunity to run for parliament if they so desire.

At least he's taken lightbulbs off his list

Regarding the BER, it was money that should have been spent a decade ago. Schools need modern facilities so that we can teach the next generation how to spell and make coherent arguments.
