I have in mind either Bane, Two Face or Red Hood. I am sure I will remember any time now another interesting Batman character.

There are always the strong brutes like Croc and Clayface. There is the Scarecrow and his psychological terror. A lot of variety.

This will probably be difficult but I'm going to try to make an app for the Joker. There are many versions of the character out there, so a lot of source material to work with.

Yes, I am not sure which character to make.
Red Hood, could be a good anti-hero character.
Bane, a mastermind but very intelligent as well.
Many, many good characters.

I personally suggest the Killing Joke. That's my favorite back story by far.

Name:Jason Todd
Alias:Red Hood
Age:25
Side (Hero, Villain, Anti-Hero, Government, etc.):Anti-Hero, formerly villain
Appearance and Personality:
Image

Jason is calculative, intelligent and serious, especially after his death and resurrection. He is charismatic and can get people on his side, although he prefers to work alone. He, although having forgiven the Batman and he has forgiven him, has decided to not be as good as Batman, regarding the criminals of Gotham City.
Abilities and Weapons (Recommended to be as descriptive as Possible):Martial Arts expert, Great with firearms, Increased healing abilities due to the Lazarus Pit
Equipment includes a katana and two guns. Also, Jason carries a variety of shuriken-like equipment like Batman, among other tech
Weakness(es) (Required but could be as simple as "Human", "Poor Fighter", or more complex like "Leaves Riddles at Crime Scene"): Human, Can be arrogant sometimes, Wants revenge by the Joker to any extent necessary
Biography (4-5 Line Minimum, unique characters should have backstories, Marvel Characters should have an explanation):
Jason Todd was, after an encounter with Batman where he attempted to steal the Batmobile's wheels, the second Robin, following in the footsteps of Dick Grayson, who had become Nightwing. After some time, and after a series of events surrounding the disappearance of his mother, the Joker captured Jason Todd and killed him in an explosion, Batman unable to do anything. Years passed and through some bending of reality, Jason was resurrected and taken under the protection of Talia Al Ghul. After falling in the Lazarus Pit and regaining his consciousness, he went around the world, in the footsteps of Batman, without his morality. He returned to Gotham City, under the mantle of a previous alias of the Joker, Red Hood and after encounters with Batman and the Joker, who he captured, Jason remained in the city, a vengeful soul, more brutal than the Batman, ready to tackle crime and defeat the Joker through any means necessary.
RP Sample:1960 Cold War RP
Academy of Heroes and Villains REBOOT

Will surely have another character, who I have not yet decided upon.

So, have any heroes/villains been reserved? In the past I've done a good Joker, Deathstroke and Azrael, though I wouldn't mind playing as any other member of Batman's Rogues Gallery or Bat Family

Hmmm.... I'll have an app up shortly-ish.
You can call me Aster. Yes, I did revive this nation... Again...

No one has been reserved though Jariri seems to be working on a Joker. Batman is even still open, though I may have to play hI'm unless am rper of sufficient quality shows up.

I've done an rp with you once (I was Joker when you were the Hatter), so you tell me if I'm good enough. Here's the link to my Joker (https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?p=16185966#p16185966) and here's a link to one of my best rp's, where I was an assassin character (http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?p=13750525&sid=f84a982b58d45fc324b16b01f040866e#p13750525)

I think I would be able to play Batman, but not sure I'll be able to give it the time it deserves. I might play Tim Drake though, also Two-faced would be a character I would be interested in.

I may wait until the Joker is up to apply, because I have an idea for a version of the Amalgam Comics character Hyena that would completely eliminate the Amalgam backstory but needs the Joker.

Same to both. Partly what made me interested to join was that I recognized the OP as a seasoned RP with a good grasp of Batman lore.

Anyway, I'd love to play both an important villain and hero. So, what should I do? Play Joker, or let Jariri play him and take a different villain who could act as an organizer, like Penguin? And as heroes go, if I don't do Joker should I do Batman? Or play someone else, like Azrael or Nightwing?

I'm thinking something on the lines of Heath Ledger, Arkham and the New 52:

Name: Unknown
Alias: The Joker
Age: Early to mid thirties
Side (Hero, Villain, Anti-Hero, Government, etc.): Villain
Appearance and Personality:

Personality: The Joker considers himself to be the anti-thesis to Batman's ideals of Order and Justice, which he wishes to replace with Chaos and Anarchy - however its clear that the Joker holds a strong fixation towards the Dark Knight, considering them both to be two sides of the same coin and that he is a natural consequence of the Batman's existence, which gives him a sense of purpose. His ultimate goal however is to show Batman the 'truth' - that his own ideals reflect the true nature of man while he tries to get Batman to forsake his 'artificial fallacies' of order and justice that supposedly civilized society upholds - which he see's as a fragile illusion just asking to be shattered. (WIP)

or this:

Image

Abilities and Weapons:

Average shot with firearms and proficient with explosives, a fairly skilled hand-to-hand fighter (not to Batman's level), dangerously skilled with knives, genius chemist and physicist and possesses abnormally high tolerance for pain.

Current equipment includes:

  • Switchblade knife
  • Pistol
  • Crowbar (sentimentally the same one he used to torture Jason Todd)
  • ''Joker Venom'' - essentially a chemical toxin that attacks the nervous system, depending on dosage can either daze, paralyze or kill - though carries limited amount in person
  • Joy Buzzer - doesn't kill but can leave victim incapacitated through shock

Weakness(es):

Otherwise an ordinary human physically, while he can fight when required and is above average in that regard he is by no means a skilled fighter - as in he can probably take down several ordinary street thugs or a handful of cops but cannot best those who actually specialize in fighting, such as Batman and similarly skilled characters. His mental state is arguably another weakness.

Biography (4-5 Line Minimum, unique characters should have backstories, Marvel Characters should have an explanation):

Virtually everything about the Joker's past is unknown, including his real name, family background or age. He is one of the Dark Knight's oldest and most hated enemy - responsible for various tragedies in Batman's life including the capture and brutal murder of Jason Todd and the paralysis of Barbra Gordon. However in their last encounter the Joker kidnapped 12 year old Tim Drake - the successor to Jason Todd - and subjected him to mental and physical torture for three months until the Bat Family finally managed to track him down.

There he revealed that Drake was still alive but his mind has been severely broken and brainwashed in the Joker's effort to turn Drake into his loyal protégé. There the Joker briefly even surrendered, daring Batman to finally break his no kill rule (the Joker had murdered Jason, put Barbra in a wheelchair and destroyed the young Tim's sanity) though when it became apparent that even this wasn't enough to force the Dark Knight to forsake his ideals another violent confrontation broke out where the Joker repeatedly stabbed Batman but was eventually defeated when he seemingly fell to his death though his body was never found.

Two years later and Drake is currently at a psychiatric institute being treated by Hugo Strange but is still plagued by nightmares of the Joker, while Barbra Gordon is recovering and may soon become Batgirl once more - however a series of eerie murders are being committed - victims being both criminals and city officials and their faces being carved with Glasgow Smiles. Rumors spread that after a two year absence the Joker has returned back to Gotham after being presumed dead, and true enough the Joker does indeed return but with a whole new look: forsaking his traditional purple garb with a black tuxedo but more notably, his face has been cut off and strapped to him like a mask.

I don't know. Batman series heroes usually aren't demon, gods, or even aleins. I guess it depends on the nature of the app, but preferably no.

World Anarchic Union wrote:Name:Jason Todd
Alias:Red Hood
Age:25
Side (Hero, Villain, Anti-Hero, Government, etc.):Anti-Hero, formerly villain
Appearance and Personality:

(WIP)

or this:

Weakness(es):

Okay if we're going with this backstory I guess there goes me playing Tim Drake, though since Red Hood has been apped it is kind of strange to have both of them be abducted and tortured in the same universe.

There's still Dick Grayson (who would be Nightwing, and kind of the only member of the Bat Family whom the Joker didn't seriously harm in some way) - its still possible for you to play Tim Drake via this back story if you put the effort in it - he'd be 14 years old and maybe just starting to recover from what the Joker did to him - you could play him as he tries to overcome the mental trauma and become the same boy wonder he once was - or try to - you could though use the trauma to make him into a different person than he once was.

You think so? You've RPed as the Joker before, PF said you were good, how is my app so far?

The app is an interesting mix of Batman Beyond's Return of the Joker and New 52, which shows you know the lore, something that is really important when playing such an iconic character. And the only iffy thing is the Tim Drake part, but only cause some people might want to RP him. But right now, it's a promising start. I'm excited to see what you'll do in the IC.

Ya but Grayson would already be in Bludhaven at this point. And it's fine, I'll probably just pick another character. Maybe I'll app Damion Wayne though I don't really like him. Besides he's not as much fun if the other Robins aren't around to annoy.
