Foreign Minister Toran O'Ryder announcing the closing of the embassy at a press conference outside the Foreign Office.
SPARKLEVALE - The Glytteronian government has announced the closure of its embassy to the Democratic People's Republic of Kisinger. The announcement comes following a highly criticized move by the Kisin government, of which chose to deport all people holding foreign citizenship. Foreign Minister O'Ryder met with members of the press outside the Foreign Office on Princess Street in Sparklevale. "This act of unwarranted and inhumane aggression towards foreign peoples peacefully residing within Kisinger is outrageous. Glytter is not going to stand still twiddling her thumbs while those in the Kisin government round up our citizens and force them to leave their properties" O'Ryder said. "Due to the quick nature of the deportations of all foreigners, and the growing unpredictably immaturity of the Kising government, we have no other choice but to recall our ambassador and close the doors to our embassy. The ambassador, civilian staff, and security detail have already left the embassy and are on a plane back to Glytter."
Currently, all diplomatic ties with the Kisin government have been cut on the part of the Glytteronian government. Foreign Minister O'Ryder also showed some concern over the expansion of the Kisin nuclear program saying "nuclear power is something Glytter has embraced on her own, and we can understand the desire of any nation to develop a strong nuclear program in order to have an efficient, safe, and clean source of power. However, Glytter has always been opposed to the use of nuclear weapons. Time and time again these have proved to be nothing but a destructive tool used by nations in the barbaric art of war. This government is opposed to the most stable nations - such as our friends in the High Kingdom and Gaullica - possessing nuclear weapons, and we are certainly opposed to unstable and immature nations such as Kisinger developing them".
The International White Cross has also announced it will be ceasing all activity within the DPRK. A spokesperson for the organization told the press "we simply cannot put the lives and safety of our volunteers at risk in a nation where foreigners are not welcome". This could prove to be a devastating blow to humanitarian efforts within Kisinger, a nation with a historic tendency to commit dozens of human rights violations. Without the presence of the IWC, the ability of the international community to come to the aid of victims of the Kisin government has now been greatly hindered.
It is currently unknown if the Glytteronian embassy will ever reopen in Dendron, or if any other nations plan on closing their own embassies.
