Remote Operated Vehicles
While cruising below the waves of the sea vast, there are other vehicles that Harl L'Qu'mados Technologies produced before other vehicles that became our namesake. These vessels were the pioneering effort early in our history of production.

Orbb (Spider) ROV
Image
Image
Orbb is a cost effective 1000m rated work tool. Orbb incorporates the very latest carbon fibre composite material technology. Buoyancy is provided by light weight, immensely strong carbon fibre pods and some syntactic foam is also used. All vehicle electronics are housed within the carbon-fibre pods. Composite material technology provides the strength required without the attendant problems of weight, corrosion and maintenance.

The use of modern CAD techniques, coupled with the latest composite material technology, allows the Orbb design to weigh approximately sixty percent less than ROV systems with a similar performance envelope. This in turn requires smaller, lighter and less expensive launch and deployment systems. RVC SM5 brushless DC thrusters are used throughout. RVC brushless DC units are fully field proven with hundreds in use worldwide. Our brushless technology ensures small, efficient, powerful thruster units. Orbb provides the user with maximum payload availability and volume.

The video system includes four simultaneous TV channels using fibre optic multiplexers and two fibre optic paths in both the tether and armoured umbilical cable. This provides for two piloting cameras and two boom cameras, or a rear facing camera and a manipulator camera; such is the flexibility of this system.

The polypropylene chassis is unencumbered with hydraulic pumps, valve chests, filters and piping. Thus Orbb has a relatively low drag co-efficient, minimising the need for under slung tooling packages. Orbb is able to carry sonars, two multi-function manipulators, stills camera, various video cameras, inspection/survey equipment and customised tooling. Dual scanning profiling sonars for trench applications, pipe-trackers and cable trackers may also be carried. The comprehensive video overlay is standard.

Orbb’s performance and capabilities are aimed specifically at operations which would normally require much larger, heavier and more expensive vehicle systems. Easy access is provided for interfacing various equipment carried by the vehicle for offshore tasks.

Habitats
Life, say the experts, began in the sea. And if the way we spend our vacations is an accurate indicator, there are few things we enjoy more than revisiting our submerged roots. Cavorting with dolphins, badgering sharks from the safety of steel cages and photographing exotic fish through the portholes of tourist submarines fascinates landlubbers from Rhydin to Peoria. For those who find these forays into Neptune's realm too brief, Harl L'Qu'mados Technologies has the perfect dream homes.

The main aim of the habitat manufacturing process is to allow anyone to live in a unique environment through a self-sufficient, nonpolluting dwelling that exists in unison with their ocean surrounding.

Are you fascinated by Submarines like we are? Most likely, the same things that got us interested in creating and building personal undersea craft, got you interested in owning one. Part of it is the mystique of submarines, the thrill of traveling in the vast unknown of the ocean's depths. Nothing compares with the excitement of flying your submersible around coral reefs, over a ship wreck, or around some rock outcroppings.

Piloting a submarine is truly exhilarating, and it is a thrill that very few people will ever experience. The other part of it is the practical aspect of all that you can achieve and accomplish with your submersible, whether commercial work, salvage, tourist rides or just pleasure rides. These are all things enjoyed by a fortunate few.

Personal Submarine Craft
The Leith (Fish)
Image
The Leith is a new high-tech small two-man submarine with an operational depth of 150 feet (50m), designed for one pilot and one passengers. Built to ABS classification rules.

A sophisticated control system, consisting of a PLC (programmable logic controller) manages the electrically operated solenoid valves, pneumatic actuators, stepper motors, encoders and electrical power systems.

All main control options are on a joystick control, positioned so that both crewmembers can operate the submarine. The MMI displays depth, internal pressure, CO2, O2, trim values, and main variable buoyancy.

All control functions sensors and actuators are connected to the PLC, where all functions are controlled through the resident computer. Thus ensuring that all submarine operations are within the set safety parameters. Manual over-ride is available if required.

Main thruster motor (4kw, brushed DC, running at 900rpm) drives a three-bladed propeller in a Kort nozzle. This gives a maximum speed of 4Kts.

ADS
An atmospheric diving suit or ADS is a small one-man articulated submersible of anthropomorphic form which resembles a suit of armour, with elaborate pressure joints to allow articulation while maintaining an internal pressure of one atmosphere. The ADS can be used for very deep dives of up to 2300 feet (700m) for many hours, and eliminates the majority of physiological dangers associated with deep diving; the occupant need not decompress, there is no need for special gas mixtures, and there is no danger of decompression sickness or nitrogen narcosis. Divers do not even need to be skilled swimmers.

While we endeavor to make craft to enjoy the sea, we are not so foolish as to believe that war will never touch such an area. As much as war encompasses the surface, so shall it reach into the briney deep below.

As such, Harl L'Qu'mados Technologies offers a variety of military grade vessels for any and all nations/conglomerates and so forth to purchase. Our various classes will be seperated by type below.

SSN (Fast Attack Submarine)
In this vaunted catagory, we offer that of the:
Chiana (Betrayal) class SSN
Image

Specifications
Class: Chiana (Betrayal) class SSN
Builder: Harl L'Qu'mados Technologies/RIRN
Per Submarine Cost: $4.1 billion RD

Keel Laid: Chiana SSN-251 - 2006
Launched: Chiana SSN-251 - 2007
Crush Depth: 510 meters
Crew Complement: 144 (Includes 31 officers and 113 crew)

Dimensions:
Length: 160.0m (524.9 feet)
Beam: 32.0m (105.0 feet)
Height: 30.0m (98.4 feet)

Submerged Displacement:
Approximately 20,210 tonnes

Hull Composition:
Double layered 3rd Generation Titanium double hull supported by a reinforced, composite steel frame, layered in genetically engineered hull skin.

Hull details:
Anechoic, genetic prototype hullskin developed as an acoustics countermeasure. The genetically-engineered material covers the exterior of the hull as two layers, each approximately three and a half inches thick. Both layers are highly tensile, densely composed structures which absorb and distort active acoustic signals such as sonar pings, thereby drastically reducing the effectiveness of sonar equipment directed at the vessel.

Secondly, the hull skin attenuates sounds emitted from the submarine - especially from engine machinery. This substantially reduces the passive sonar visibility of the submarine, rendering it effectively stealth to passive detection at extended ranges.

The genetic composition of the hull skin is one of the most classified and tightly controlled secrets in the RIRN Navy's engineering corps. The degree of effectiveness of the technology is unparalleled by any other navy in the world, and it is reported that the technology has helped in reducing the sonar signature of RIRN submarines by up to 85 or 90 percent.

Note: Genetic Engineering and Usage of this type has violated numerous international treaties. Buyers may come under penalties of own treaties and etc.

Propulsion:
1 Harl L'Qu'mados Technologies Naval Systems Chath nuclear reactor powering 4 aqua-return propulsion drives
Maximum: 50 knots
Standard Cruising: 30 knots

Computer System:
RIRN VI-A Combat Central Processing Core

Computer Specifics
The RIRN-VI is the 'standard' for small boat systems within the RIRN. A fiber optic computer system, it is much faster than silicon processors, and shares many physical similarites to high-end civilian computers. The computer's primary advantage over civilian systems is found in its software - the RIRN-VI cores aboard Chiana class SSNs make use of a processor management and resource allocation, streamlining ship operations and allowing the crew to focus on other tasks rather than maintaining computer systems.

The RIRN-VI Fiber Optic core is considered a low-end computer in the military. They are relatively cheap and easy to maintain - one of the few advantages they have over the circuitry of next-generation systems found aboard larger, more advanced ships.

Sensors:
Internal: Hypersonar; active and passive sensor suites
Effective Range : Approximately 90 nautical miles (est.)

Hypersonar technology relies on a combination of 'traditional' acoustic monitoring equipment such as active and passive sonar, and laser-based range finding, it stands for Hypersonic Navigation and Ranging; as the name implies, it uses faster-than-sound technology to detect shipping, map terrain and aid in navigation. The Chiana class mounts a total of 3 hypersonar arrays mounted bow, stern, and midships, with an additional towed array providing coverage of its rear quarters.

Operating passively, hypersonar sensors are able to work in conjunction with the ship's computer to use repeated, low-band particle beams to build up a 3D picture of the environment while an integrated passive array intelligently detects and identifies acoustic signatures within that environment. This is the preferred method of operation, as it maintains complete stealth capability for the submarine while still providing at least a marginal picture of the environment around the vessel - while there is no guarantee that a submarine will be detected by the passive components of the array, the laser array ensures that even if targets cannot be identified, they will be detected, ranged and targetted. Only next-generation active camouflage systems employed by some nation's vessels have the capacity to evade passive hypersonar entirely.

Used actively, hypersonar becomes a double edged, but ultimately infallible sword - First sweeping the area with a high-sensitivity laser array to gather preliminary data, the ship's computer then isolates targets of opportunity which are then battered with a series of uni-directional audio pings, the system literally bounces sound waves off specific solid objects in the water repeatedly and reflects them back to the array, with each ping building up an incredibly detailed picture of the target in real time. The only draw back to this system is that the target being 'illuminated' will also have access to the same information - active acoustics work both ways.

Nonetheless, the system is a marked improvement over first-generation active sonar technology used throughout the later part of the 20th century where a single ping could be detected by any submarine in the area. The new directed-array used in hypersonars will limit the 'saturation' of the ping to one specific vector, thus maintaining the submarine's stealth against any other target in the area. Only a sophisticated inter-ship battle network (Such as the encrypted, globe-spanning communications system used by the RIRN) would be able to make use of another ship's sensor information in real time, and forces which do posess such communications ability are very rare; most certainly, the Battlenet has been one of the RIRN's major advantages over a variety of hostile navy's(and significantly less advanced) command and control networks.

Combining active hypersonar on a single ship with such a network between a taskforce would enable an entire battlegroup to receive real-time and incredibly detailed target information without revealing their locations.

Armament:
9 21-inch torpedo tubes (mounted bows)
10 Zuelsul(Tracker) II Hypersonic Cruise Missile VLS tubes (Conventional payload) (mounted stern)

Defensive Systems:
Mark IX and X Intercept Torpedoes
ECM Packages and Noise Makers

The 10 VLS tubes mounted just aft of the submarine's bridge provide the Chiana with the ability to support littoral operations, making it a preferred platform for special forces deployment from both Navy Special Forces (NSF) and Marine Force Recon. (MFR) Each missile tube is autoloading, and supports the Zuelsul 1 and Zuelsul 2 conventional hypersonic cruise missiles which have maximum speeds exceeding Mach 7, and can be armed with a variety of non-nuclear warheads including cluster munitions, deep-penetrating bunker busters, high explosive, and EMP.

Fully loaded, The ship's torpedo rooms can hold a total of 70 21-inch torpedoes, while the missile room stores 30 Zuelsul missiles (with an additional 10 already in the launch silos)

EVA Assets:
Negligible; air locks can support 2 externally-docked shuttles midships.

CVSN (Submarine Carrier)
For this class, we offer the:
Silinrul (Hunter) CVSN
Image
The Silinrul class was the first dedicated fleet carrier to be built for the RIRN Navy. Following the sucess of small strikecraft deployed aboard the seaQuest class and now-decomissioned Titan class large of SSNs, the RIRN Navy felt the need to deploy larger, dedicated carriers to offer an additonal striking power. Mostly because a fair number of navies about the world had no defense against such technologies.

Per Submarine Cost: 3.8 billion RD

General Specifications:
Class: Silinrul (Hunter) class Fleet Carrier (SCVN)
Builder: Harl L'Qu'mados Technologies/RIRN
Keel Laid: Silinrul SCVN-40 – 2005
Launched: Silinrul SCVN-40 – 2006
Crush Depth: 510 meters
Computer System: RIRN VII Combat Network

Length: 205.0m (410.10 feet)
Beam: 53.0m (173.9 feet)
Height: 40.0m (131.2 feet)

Submerged Displacement:
31,060 tonnes

Armament:
8 21-inch torpedo tubes (mounted bows)

Defensive Systems:
Mark IX and X Intercept Torpedoes
ECM Packages and Noise Makers

Hull Composition:
Double layered 3rd Generation Hull skin covering a titanium double hull supported by a reinforced composite steel frame.

Hull skin details:

Note: Genetic Engineering and Usage of this type has violated numerous international treaties. Buyers may come under penalties of own treaties and etc.

Computer Specifics
The RIRN-VII series cores have been in operation aboard RIRN submarines since the early 2000's. The VII installed aboard Silinrul class carriers has been deployed since 2001, and replaced the VI originally installed during the class's earliest production run. Operating with a fully-integrated Linux-based OS developed specifically to the class's specifactions, the system is believed to be up to 10 times more effective than the latest generation fiber-optic systems used in the civilian market.

The information systems are wired throughout the ship in bundled conduits. Each 'bundle' consists of several thousand 'strands' of artificially manufactured 'nerve' wiring that is stimulated and insulated by the gel within the conduits.

The primary difference between the type VI carried aboard the near-identical sister-class, the Chiana, and type VII cores aboard the Silinrul is one of design purpose. The Chiana's computer systems are dedicated to high-sensitivity and long-range weapons control, while the Silinrul's computer systems deal more with long-range communications to deployed subfighter wings. As weapons sensors and communications systems are similar in design, the differences between the two cores are subtle on most levels of operation.

Hypersonar technology
Relies on a combination of 'traditional' acoustic monitoring equipment such as active and passive sonar, and laser-based range finding, it stands for Hypersonic Navigation and Ranging; as the name implies, it uses faster-than-sound technology to detect shipping, map terrain and aid in navigation. The Poseidon class mounts a total of 5 parabolic hypersonar arrays mounted bow, stern, midships dorsal and ventral across the submarine providing it with 360 degree sonar coverage on all of its axis.

Only next-generation active camouflage systems employed by Macronesian vessels have the capacity to evade passive hypersonar entirely.

Combining active hypersonar on a single ship with such a network between a taskforce would enable an entire battlegroup to receive real-time and incredibly detailed target information without revealing their locations.

As a carrier, the Silinrul's armament is modest at best. In its role as a dedicated carrier, the Silinrul carries only half the armament of its cruiser sister, the Chiana. The Poseidon's eight 21-inch torpedo tubes are rapid, self-loading batteries which can be fired, flooded, drained, reloaded and fired again in approximately 5 seconds. They are capable of delivering every RIRN/International made torpedo model developed since 2003 with current armaments including the Marks 87, 88, 91 and 92 variable-charge plasma torpedoes and the Marks IX and X Intercept-countermeasure torpedoes.

The ship's magazines can be stocked with a total of 80 21-inch torpedo warheads. The rest of the enlarged-magazines of this class are used as storage for subfighter armament.

EVA Assets:
Can carry up to 60 sub-craft of various types. During peace time, this is generally halved between utility/science craft and combat subfighters.

CASN (Strike Cruiser)
Quellarin (Castle) class
Image
The Quellarin was built as Rhydin's first stage in rebuilding the RIRN armed forces, and has since grown in both capability and numbers to be the most numerous force of attack submarines in it's own dominion of influence [region]. In the first five years of 1996 to 2001 alone, over 70 of them were constructued in shipyards across the Republic, with major construction yards located in Adelaide, Zanjiang, Jakarta, Broken Ridge and Garden Island.

As they are still quite capable as a support unit, HQLT still manufactures the vessel for both RIRN and ally duties. Now with authorization from the central government, the Quellarin is also available for export.

HCSN (Heavy Cruiser)
Xar'zith (Ice) class
Image
A vessel that came as a "first" for the RIRN during it's design and research for large " heavy cruiser" class submersibles, the Ice-class were among the first warhips in the RIRN fleet to be designed with organic hull skin technology in mind. As a forerunner for other vessels with this acoustic dampening technology, it is still used as a test bed for newer applications.

Faced with very different needs than the combined fleets of the League of Imperial Nations; the RIRN took a notably different path in the field of weapons development. The staple weapons-of-choice for the RIRN have typically always been high numbers of rapid-firing torpedoes complemented by a range VLS missile systems.

HQLT in it's joint venture with RIRN, on the other hand, pursued far more conventional tactics. To ensure joint-operability between all of its member states and allies, and to increase the odds of being able to match the submarines of other nations. The choice of large, 24-inch torpedo tubes was made shortly after the Third Territorial Incursion War with the League. Over time, virtually all RIRN munitions were built to fit these tubes, and as a result the latest RIRN weapons have a considerably larger warhead and longer range than their 21-inch counterparts (as commonly used by the League member nations.)

RIRN vessels are commonly equipped with purpose-built weapons bays that house either a single eight-tube rotary launcher or a larger, fourteen-round torpedo rack. These bays are fully capable of launching any HQLT 24-inch munitions, including SM-14/AF ‘Spine’ anti-fighter torpedoes, SM-9/ASW 'Elghinn Zotreth' (Death Strike) torpedoes, or even SSC-30 Qu'mados Barra (Sea Shadow) Cruise Missiles.

Per Unit Cost: 3.7 Billion RD Per Unit

Class: Xar'zith (Ice) Class Submarine Heavy Cruiser
Acronym: HCSN
Keel Laid: Xar'zith HCSN-01: 1998
Launched: Xar'zith HCSN-01: 1999
Crew Complement: Approximately 300 (Includes approximately 50 officers and 250 enlisted.)

General Specifics
Submerged Displacement: 34,500 Tonnes
Crush Depth: 500 meters
Computer System:HQLT VII-Network

Hull Composition:
Titanium double hull supported by a reinforced composite steel frame, hull covered by an HQLT Type-2 hull skin and ceramic armour.

Type 2 Hull Skin:
The effects and advantages of this type of the type 2 hull skin are diverse. The skin is not smooth, and is covered in many almost microscopic cells that create vorticies in the water surrounding a ship at speed, much like the skin of sharks. This has the cumulative result of reducing drag at high speeds, and protects the hull from the effects of cavitation. Additionally, the skin is sound-attenuating in much the same fashion as acoustic tiles used in earlier vessels, helping to reduce the visibility of the submarine through typical sonar-based sensors.

Despite these advantages, the skin does not share the same remarkable regenerative traits of the more advanced genetically engineered hull skins on vessels constructed after it. While the later hull skins of are designed to rapidly regrow from wear and tear (and does so with a minimal of scarring and lasting damage) The Type 2 grow only at a 'standard' rate of what might be expected from normal flesh. (And is thus almost useless as a damage control measure.) A side-effect of this is that Type 2 hull skins tend to damage fairly easily when exposed to marine evironments - barnacles and weapons fire alike mean that the skins develop callous, uneven surfaces that have to be periodically re-grafted if the ship is to remain at peak performance.

Sensors:
Internal: Hypersonar; active and passive sensor suites
Effective Range : Approximately 100 nautical miles
External Sensors: Towed passive sonar array
(Range dependant on ocean condtions)

Armament:
20 24-inch forwards firing tubes (fwd & midships)
2 variable weapons bays (Forward)
SSC-30 Qu'mados Barra (Sea Shadow) Cruise Missile can be launched from weapon bays.

Limited stocks of Spine Anti-fighter torpedoes
ECM Packages and Noise Makers

(April 2000 deployment: 12 kiynteyh heavy subfighters, 12 Nota'Man subfighters, 12 Dasbacd subfighters, 1 Mk2 DSRV, 5 kiynteyh gunships, 2 Dauphin troop transport shuttles)

SF (Sub Fighter)
Nota'man (Devil) Class Submersible Marine-Superiority Fighter
Image
The Nota'man has its roots as early as 1998 design when the RIRN begun early research and development of a new class of submarine vessel. While unaware of other next-generation subfighter programs, there was cause of speculation that known hostile forces were also in the begining stages of experimentation, which was enough of a motivation for RIRN to contract HQLT to design this new type of vessel. While their neighbors eventually moved onto standard types of vessels, the research conducted by the joint RIRN/HQLT design teams created a decisive edge in submarine engagements.

OOC:
Our military subs are slightly PMT level and can be sold without the genetic hull skin. All of the other vessels sold are MT based.

Why would it matter? In any case, no HQLT doesnt sell conventional designed military submarines as a way to distinquish itself. Try Lyras or some such.

Your Excellency,

As mandated by the newly amended Las Pinas constitution, the defense department is now handling a transition from a "modern tech" armed forces into a "future tech" armed forces. In lieu with this, our previous "modern tech" force were scrapped back into raw materials for use for the transition.

However, due to the nature of managing a very large republic spanning 2 star systems wherein peace and order must be upheld, our "modern tech" needs are going to be outsourced since Las Pinas defense industries will be converted to "future tech." This way, we can also respond to foreign incidents and be sensitive to their "modern nature;" at the same time maintaining our status as a "future tech" nation.

In accordance with the 'Implementing Rules of Acquisition," made by the Las Pinas Senate Armed Services Committee, and Las Pinas Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command; the defense department requests the following items as urgent:

1000 CVSN (Submarine Carrier)- [Silinrul (Hunter) CVSN]

5000 CASN (Strike Cruiser) - [Quellarin (Castle) class]

4000 HCSN (Heavy Cruiser) - [Xar'zith (Ice) class]

60000 SF (Sub Fighter) - [Nota'man (Devil) Class Submersible Marine-Superiority Fighter]

The Armed Forces of Las Pinas will create a separate branch of service in order to accommodate a totally different perspective in war-fighting.
