Another, less important one, is what're the aesthetics for the humans and the elves? ie, are we talking Western European humans? Tolkien elves? Yadda yadda.

As for how Sacre Lucem will be RPed, I see a big part of it being characters from the University who have gone on to be ministers, counsellors, clergy and so on. Lots of talking, not so much on the fighting. There's also the flipside of the equation, if other players wish to RP students at the University there's potential for some interesting sub-plots there, though we would do well to try and keep things relevant to the main story.
On distances, well if the map is meant to be an entire planet the size of Earth then I'd say you already have the two main blocks quite widely separated. That's not necessarily a deal-breaker, people and armies did cross continents in the Middle Ages and earlier, but it may be something to think about. As much as anything it's something to get used to RP-wise, especially for people used to recent and future RPs where people go fast and messages even faster.

That's how they do it in most fantasy.

We could say the polar ice caps are super huge and the only habital zone of the planet is the thin ring around not covered in ice. This may be just one continental area shown. Ill put a scale up on it after work today.

Great Houses of Xie wrote:Well, if we plan on having more interactions, I feel like having the two large entities a lot closer would foster more relations. That's pretty far apart from each other; the closer nations are, the easier it is to find excuses to RP encounters and the like. As I started trying to decide where I wanted to put my own nation, I realized the above; given the space in between, I had trouble justifying any real relations with anyone.

Alignment of Group: To themselves and only themselves.
Description of Group: A order of individuals working towards a common goal. Taking both diplomatic actions and subterfuge-esque actions to accomplish their mission. They try to gain influence with their actions by acquiring the friendship of certain towns/realms/groups that they can then use to try to influence how the war is going to try to bring it to an end. They are actually led by a group of 100 persons who rank the highest and are referred to by the title "Phoenix." The highest ranking Phoenix is Resoula, the Half-Elf, as the founder of Phoenix.

Language: TBD (If there is a 'Common Tongue' That would be it)
Religion: Shakal Paganism mostly but many local religions practiced. Common love of War god.
Economy: The economy is generally ruled by the last Lordly families of which only three remain. The House Of Zo Nal,House Walin, and House Caswell. The houses are rich but still must be wary of the growing merchant class who are pushing for a sea port for their wares to move through. The peasants and tradesmen are numerous but not bound to the land, they make up the most numerous of the Shakal and live in simple homes typically made of stone when near the mountain with a wooden roof or solid well built logs if not. Richness comes from the silver mines in the mountains as opposed to gold alongside its high quality steel goods. Typically trades steel tools, lumber and good horses for agricultural foods, which while growable along the Sloos River prove difficult as the elevation climbs nearer to the mountains.
Currency: Silver Piece (Not sure how valuable gold is but if the common is a gold piece I will say a Silver is half as valuable)
Military Size: Professional Army of 70,000 but in war can raise up to 150,000 (Small in comparison to pop at 3% max but quality over quantity
# of Population fit for military service: 800,000
Examples of Previous RPs: I havent actually Rped for a long time and this is a new Forum account with my other long gone. If this is a major issue I understand.
Alignment of Realm: Neutral but favoring the Empire of Man.
Description of Realm: Will expand if claim approved.
Relationship with other Realms: Will expand if claim approved.
How you fit into the world of ________: A relatively young Empire that has sprung up after the defeat of the Dark Lord. Originally a single tribe of raiding barbarians a skilful leader by the name of Zo Nal led them and defeated the other local tribes under the shadow of Mt Aunnok. He founded Shakal City and brgan to expand his domain along with his captains Shonej' Walin and Gegon' Caswell. Eventually they expanded the Sloos River. After a few generations the Empire took its present shape. It remained outside the control of the Empire thanks to its general isolation. It is now at a crossroads. With its merchants pushing for expansion west and south soon the Shakal Empire will be forced to face the might of the Tomekian Imperium and the Empire. Now it is up to Emperor Zalord to lead the nation.

I have been thinking of putting some in. For now I don't foresee us filling completely up so any unclaimed land will be as such.Shakal wrote:Land Claim:(Image)

- The map claim doesn't seem unreasonable, we will review.
- Expand upon your motivation in your application beyond just existing. Maybe that you are expansionist? Want to become a great Realm?
- If you could find some sort of RP previous, just any example really it would be really helpful.
- So for your alignment you are more neutral, but a potential ally to the Empire?
- Put in a description please.
