History:

[Ellorm is a citystate with an abundance of resource and trade and is usually last to react during political incidents as it is far away. Although it is far away from the largest cities, it is a frontier settlement for trade and is a refuge for the pilgrim and the wanderer.]

Establishment of the 1st Kingdom

Before the establishment of the 3rd Kingdom, warring tribes fought for the Red Beryl Palace. An ancient palace of great splendor and utter power and whose creators and engineers remain a mystery. These uncivilized tribes attempted to control the Palace with no success. It was on an uncertain day and in an unmarked year that Rashatafa the Scholar managed to occupy the Palace and defeated the feared Order of the Dune [Now known as the Natur Roian]. He then managed to seat in his Red Beryl throne without opposition and would rule for the next 80 years.

During his reign, he had created many things and founded great institutions that still exists today. He founded the Grand University of Dune. An ancient university that is still functional to this day. He also created the great city of Rahanur which is the host city of the Red Beryl Palace. During Ancient times, Scholars would travel to Rahanur in order to learn science and arts.

The First Interregnum

When Rashatafa died at the age of 121, He died childless and thus had no heir to the throne. The succeeding King was to be Crowned Prince Barsuum, the nephew of King Rashatafa. In an unfortunate incident, he was assassinated just a day after his coronation and within a year, all family members were dead and the Kingdom was left with no ruler to rule/ Then, out of nowhere, a Warlord named Bersanor Gullari, an outlander and a foreigner set his eye upon the unsuspecting population of Rahanur. By then, the different nobles and counts were bickering about who will succeed the King. Finally, his armies would then commit what is now known as the sack of Rahanur. The city's population was 6,780 back then. Yet, he led an army of 500 elite men and quickly bypassed the outer legions of the Rahanur Militia which numbered up to a thousand two hundred. As they neared the city, only 200 Militiamen were left and thinking that Gullari's forces could not possibly bypass their outer forces and border guards. Within hours, the Warlord's forces would ransack the city and destroy the Red Beryl Palace. In the streets, women were raped, children were massacred and fathers were forced to see their enemies violate their wives and children. In a desperate approach against Warlord Gullari, High Kynlord [Archduke] Jahanu Shadar led a counter offensive against Gullari's elite army. His assault was futility. In the end, High Kynlord Jahanu Shadar would be defeated and executed in front of his mother, wife and children. And the Gullari warlord dynasty would rule over the city-state for the next 300 years.

Gullari Warlords and the 2nd Kingdom

During this three hundred year dynasty, Thousands of Dissenters would be executed throughout it's history and the Warlords would suppress the great Institutions that Rashatafa the Scholar founded. As his first imperial decree, ''Emperor'' Besanor Gullari ordered the execution of High Kynlords Ganradu, Naphabo and Srebani, the Dean of the Grand University of Dune and forty high ranking professors. Grandmaster of the Order of Dune and countless Knights and the immediate construction of the Imperial Gullari Tower. And for the next 300 hundred years, His successors would begin reconstruction of the city and would ensure reconstruction and development era that would continue to benefit the economy of present day Ellorm. Cultural changes were initiated. Amid the reconstruction efforts of the various warlords throughout the ages, they have been an iron fist dynasty and banned all sorts of philosophy and knowledge. They were ruthless dictators that oppressed the people. One family that they struck hard was the Elormur Family.

Rebellion of the Elormur and the Second Interregnum

Dastan Elormur would lead his family into power during the late Gullari Era. Within 10 years, he was made into a Kynlord and his son, Traven Elormur was promoted to Highlord [Second in Command] On the death of the last Warlord, Traven and Dastan initiated the assassination plot of all Gullari heirs and nobles within the citystate. As the next heir was crowned king, Highlord Traven and his close colleague, Fieldlord Gastren Bynereeve [Field Marshall] led the inner armies to turn against the warlords. Within a day, they successfully defeated the Gullari family and took over the city. However, one Gullari survived. Liegelord Vamerilis Gullari led the outer armies and turned it against the city. The battle raged on and would lead to the death of the last Gullari that ever touched Ellorm forever.

Henceforth, the city was renamed to Ellorm.

Elormur Dynasty, the 3rd Kingdom and Golden Age of Ellorm

With the people finally freed from oppression, Reconstruction efforts were swift and fast. Population swelled and expanded greatly. Population grew and all returned to normal. The Grand University of Dune reopened and the Gullari tower demolished and replaced with the Ellorm Imperial Palace. A magnificent building displaying the power of wealth in the Kingdom. The military was developed and new technologies were adapted and imposed despite the conservative efforts of other kings to suppress knowledge in their respective realms. The Ellormian Army is one of the best defender-based army and has it's own education arm which is called the College of Professional Warfare. Trade was being encouraged and countless divisions were sent into the highways in order to defend merchants and traders. Literature developed and Historians would study at the university.

This age truly was, the Golden Age of Ellorm.

the Pretender Regent and the Heiress

The 29th Monarch of Ellorm died at the age of 67 after a party. Unnamed sources say that a certain someone has poisoned the King of Ellorm and that they accused the Regent Dunmarn Maanvais for poisoning the King. It is also said that the regent bribed the Kalir council into placing the Kingdom into regency and intimidated them to declare Princess Maarsheva as incapable of ruling the Kingdom. Princess Maarsheva's brother was Grandlord Gregory. He was missing after a hunting session although rumors say that he was killed by an unknown force.

Currently, only the Regent is authorized to seat on the Emerald Throne. People say that the Regent is a powerful mage.

It pretty much is a mashup, though I've never played Magic the Gathering so I assume the Circle of Understanding I ripped from Google images is a part of that? Anyway that sounds hectic, not sure I could cope with all that at once, hope to see you around if you find the time.

If I do I'm coming here. That schedule doesn't include my weekly tabletop and board gaming either lol.

I have an idea for a blind vampire who also happens to be a trap. :p

(Bigger pic here)

Could be one of the older ones who managed to retain a not particularly deformed appearance for one reason or another, or perhaps who has a "true form" type thing going on (which is what he's really become).
Hmm...

Ooh, looks interesting. Perhaps they lead a good life which protects them from the extreme effects of the taint, or mastery over Ghyran magic has allowed them to mold their shape into something of their liking. A hidden form - true form dynamic could be possible with mastery over Ulgu or Hysh.

Sorry, it was this one: Caer Cama

When I put it in the URL and tested it out it went to the right picture so I'm not too entirely sure why it didn't when i posted it . . .

I'll get the app for Draven up soon, I just wanted to see what you thought of it first. (I also noticed that they're rather similar to the Iron Guard, so that'll be interesting. Though they also don't like any magics besides light magic, and even then . . .)

Divine help would be . . . helpful?

I thought it was that one, looks like an excellent fortress.

The Iron Guard is pretty similar, though they are anti everything that isn't human, such as the gods and Alfar, and have no qualms against using Shyish, normally known as Necromancy, or any other darker magics. I can see conflict easily brewing between these two groups, though the Iron Guard have sent most of their troops to the east which is about to be hit by Seskel the Devourer.

The Legion of Light might find that Nemehiah's warnings about the gods are not all wrong, though the real question is were they always that way, or did the Divine war change them as much as it changed the Seven?

Just so long as it isn't overrun I'll agree with you. :p

I agree, though the distance between the two would probably limit any major conflicts unless we fight over the influence of the great city between us or something.

What exactly do you mean by that? What warnings do you speak of?

Nemehiah and his agents spread propaganda declaring the gods tyrannical monsters who took power in Dravarn by force, and that the Seven were courageous heroes who took the ultimate sacrifice and corrupted themselves to defeat the gods. Whether what he says is true is left open to interpretation, the only beings who know are those few second generation vampires who survived the Divine war, and by now most of their minds will be blurred, addled or completely biased against the gods.

Of course, the fact that five of the Seven turned into monsters themselves didn't exactly help their cause, hence why most people in Dravarn are distrustfu lof god-like beings. The gods have not been vanquished forever though, and it is possible that they could be returning at the same time as the Seven, though this time there is nobody to stop them. Of course, it isn't really known if stopping them is the best course of action or not, they could be the saviours, or destroyers, or Dravarn.

Vampire application
Name: Kaelithiel
Age: Ancient
Gender: Male
Appearance:

(Bigger pic here)

Image

Personality:
Quiet, ruthless and focused, Kaelithiel is manipulative and ambitious, with a desire for both power and knowledge. He holds an interest in worthy opponents, and possesses a certain hatred for those who mock or scorn his blindness, as well as those who would underestimate him due to this. His personality can change from one thing to another. Generally, he seems arrogant yet usually polite, yet he can be different at other times, sometimes being rude and quite disrespectful.

For instance, he can be brutal, impulsive, excessively-violent and possessing of a lethally-short temper. However, despite his aggression and obvious blood lust in battle, he possesses a feral cunning and has a knack for quickly exploiting any opening his opponent reveals. In addition, he can be blunt, sarcastic, and quite sadistic, revealing a psychotic grin or laughing maniacally whenever he becomes excited sometimes, or eerily silent, masochistic, cold and apathetic at other times. He's often serious, yet at the same time contemptful of others, often laughing when opponents claim that they can defeat him, or alternatively pessimistic and insecure.

He possesses both a superiority complex and an inferiority complex. He usually considers most other people weaker, and beneath him. He treats them as you might expect, yet when he believes others to be stronger, or they have proven themselves to be stronger, Kaelithiel obsesses over them, wanting to become as strong as them, yet also seeming fanatical towards them, and perhaps as scared of them. He cannot abide being locked or trapped, and will always seek to escape confinement and will fight to the death to do so.

Magic School: Ulgu
Clan: TBA
Generation: 2nd
Biography:
He was one of the vampires that followed the Seven, himself a former Alfar, against the gods. He was blinded by a vengeful deity during the Divine War, the injuries inflicted being done in such a manner as to never heal. As such, the places where his eyes had been, often bled, with it taking little to make that occur.

Born to an Alfar noble long ago, he became an advisor to one of the Seven, who were influential even in those days. Known for his beauty, he was often mistaken for a woman. He was charismatic and learned, traits that would bring him some level of fame. As a mage-scholar, he was known for his insights into the arcane. Nonetheless, events would happen that came to give him disdain, and a lack of faith in the gods. He came to see them as arbitrary beings, and thus came to join the ideology and cause of the Seven. He aided them with sorcerous research and experimentation, and in finding a means to create what would become a vampire. After they had turned each other, he was one of their followers, who became a vampire of the second generation.

When the Divine War began, he commanded powerful shadow sorcery, and legions under the direction of the Seven, to war against the gods, and to deal with those who had sided with the gods. Many towns, villages and cities were looted and massacred, though Kaelithiel himself always ordered that artefacts, books and sources of knowledge and arcane interest be brought to his collection, whilst Alfar and human alike, if they survived, either became vampires, or were used for potentially fatal occult experiments. At some point during the millennial war, whilst besieging a divine bastion, his own forces were attacked from multiple sides and ambushed. Whilst the losses on both sides were horrendous, the event being known as the battle of Balsyrae, the land itself reputedly eternally soaked with blood, with mountains of dead wrought during the conflict. Kaelithiel was defeated by the leader of the defenders of the fortress - which was also the headquarters of the Holy Knights of Lyrashanis, who had organised a counter attack in advance.

Lead by one of the less benevolent deities, a war goddess with an aptitude for both killing and strategy, named Shelvara, it would be a futile victory in the long run. The vampire, however, would not forget it. Captured during the battle, he was brutally tortured, driven into insanity his limbs broken and his veins drained of blood. Once more cursing the gods, he was blinded permanently for his blasphemy, so that he might never again look upon the gods, or anyone else. To blind him, a divine blade was used, so that his vampiric regeneration would never heal his eyes. Though that imprisonment would be temporary, with this fortress to be captured later on, and the war goddess to flee with the other surviving gods as the Divine War became a victory for the Seven, Kaelithiel, unsurprising, would be irrevocably changed.

In the various conflicts, he was known as a dangerous sorcerer and assassin, his cunning and speed considerable, even for vampires. Whilst on the other hand, he was something of a glass cannon amongst vampires, somewhat more physically fragile, and weak to sound-based attacks, considering he relied most upon his hearing, and to a lesser extent, his other remaining senses, which are all amplified greatly, be it touch, taste or smell, though that sensitivity gives both advantages and disadvantages, from remarkable perception to increased pain. Over time, the Curse came into fruition, and his true form was twisted, into a creature resembling a shadow hydra, though both forms are noticeably distinct from one another, and a focused effort is required to switch between them.

He bore witness to the infighting, chaos and destruction that the Seven wrought each other as betrayal and madness came to dominate the lands. As he came to hate the gods, so did he hate their servants, and those that would worship them. He desecrated many a temple, and many of the surviving priesthoods and holy orders that remained, were wiped out.

Important Items: An enchanted, basket-hilted, rune-carved longsword named C'threk Goru, that lengthens at will, self-repairs and infects cut targets with shadowy taint. Enchanted Amulet. Ring of Telekinesis. Some other stuff.

Important Items: An enchanted, basket-hilted, rune-carved longsword named C'threk Goru, that lengthens at will, self-repairs and infects cut targets with shadowy taint. Enchanted Amulet. Ring of Telekinesis. Some other stuff.

I assume this is finished, and even if it isn't it is acceptable, so accepted!

By being a second generation vampire I hope you understand the extreme power that they have, though you have included some nice disadvantages for Kaelithiel to balance that out which is good to see. I will be putting the IC up tomorrow, since I have a few other rps to reply to tonight and some overdue work to complete.

Good to see you here Star. Hopefully you won't find all of my numerous mistakes in the OP that I still need to fix.

Also magic will be elaborated on, probably tomorrow when I have the time. It is essentially torn from Warhammer's style of magic, so if you need to understand it I would use the WarhammerWiki.

Well, I know a bit about Warhammer Fantasy, but I'm much more familiar with WH40K.
Though I suppose they both have the same gods of chaos, and the same eight pointed star of chaos as a symbol, that was originally created by Michael Moorcock (though his gods of chaos were left out, such as Arioch and many others). :p

Hopefully this'll get some more attention over the next few days. Though preferably not to posting-flood levels.

I have put up a poll, to get some feedback on what needs changing since this isn't attracting a huge amount of applications and it needs refining anyway. Feel free to give any suggestions for less significant changes as well, I'm open to any ideas.

Excellent, I look forward to them.

Judging from the poll, it seems that a more detailed story explaining more of the setting is wanted, with the Seven reworked a bit though that will feed into the story party anyway. I will add a section for technology, and finish the magic section, so as to not leave people guessing. That will be done this weekend, and hopefully most of the apps will be done by then.

I always find it a bit odd when there's 500 views in a thread like this, with 40 odd posts, and no one seems to be joining. :(

Edit: Added note because I don't want to double post - one good idea might be to make the ranks of the Seven a bit less of a sausagefest. As it is, they're all male. :p

Human Application

Name: Draven Al’Akir

Age: 33

Gender: Male

Appearance: Out of Armor

His Armor

Personality: Draven is a calm individual who takes all that he does in regards to his faith and the Legion very seriously. Though, he can often be seen in Caer Cama with a broad smile on his face as he shares his meals with his men.

Magic School: Hysh, The Light Order

House: Al’Akir

Biography: Draven was born to the house of Al’Akir, a minor house that formerly resided in Truthy. Draven saw firsthand the destruction wrought by vampires infected with the taint. Being from the Al’Akir family, Draven, like several of his ancestors were groomed for command within the Legion of Light, as the Al’Akir family had for a long time been supporters of the Legion. Being vehemently opposed to vampires for as long as they were, the Al’Akir had garnered a great many enemies within Truthy.

When soon after Draven was sent to Caer Cama, he heard of his family’s fate, almost the entirety of the Truthy branch of Al’Akir had been wiped out in one fell swoop. Those that had been lucky enough to avoid the onslaught fled. After that horrible event, Draven’s faith in the Legion’s cause was increased tenfold. He soon found himself leading his brothers into battle, and soon after that, he was named the High Seeker, or simply the Seeker.

Important Items: Sword of the Morning- A bastard sword that has been passed down from High Seeker to High Seeker for generations. The Sword of the Morning can set itself alight when in use which casts a nearly blinding light from the flames.

Vigilance- An amulet that heightens the wearer’s senses, stamina, and agility, to an almost vampire like level. A number of these amulets are also given to Draven’s personal guard, the Seeker’s Hand, though they are not quite as potent as Draven’s.

Human Application
Name: Mesym Enwald
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Appearance: His armor and sword.
Personality:
He is paranoid of betrayal after what happened to his father. He also has trouble keeping his temper when facing a cowardly enemy or anyone who even has the smallest chance of being related to or being one of the noble houses who betrayed his family. He has a severe hatred of vampires yet is able to keep his temper in most encounters with them.

He is very loyal towards those few who he calls friends and the commanders who earn his trust. He keeps to himself when facing those he doesn't. The loyalty makes him weak to betrayal from him being how they are the few he trusts. He is very ambitious when it comes to completing things he puts his mind towards.

He follows commands from those he doesn't trust but he is less enthusiastic then he would be if such orders come from one he does. He tends to keep his word and only breaks it when he believes it to be completely necessary. He tends to be seen as shy and secluded to others yet towards some of those under his command and most of his friends he acts energetic and joyful.

He tends to do what he thinks is right when decisions are left up to him with little to no thought put into the decision. Yet when the lives of people other then himself are at stake he is very careful with his planning. On the battlefield he is seen as arrogant as he very rarely steps down from a fight no matter his chances. He tends to stress the fates of those he commands so much so that he is typically seen fighting alongside them in the few battles he has been through.

Magic School: Hysh, The Light Order
House: Enwald
Biography:
He was born to a very old and major noble family biased around Truthy with many minor houses formed by relatives biased around the area and beyond with many allies and few enemies. A fact unknown to most was that the man who founded the family many years ago was a lesser known vampire hunter before he did the deeds that earned him his title. The longsword that he wielded has been a family heirloom since then. His family also secretly supported the Legion of the Light fairly soon after the house was founded financially. The family was careful not to look suspicious so they allied with many vampire supporting houses in the area.

Mesym was trained in his magic school as soon as the abilities showed up at a early age. He also was trained with a sword starting at the age of six. Yet the family due to an old family friend who served as one of the few messengers who brought the gold to the Legion after the man was stopped on his normal route by a enemy of the family and was paid enough to easily let the name of the group he was sending the gold towards and what branch of the house sent it. When the information was discovered they told some of the family's allies of which they had rough relationships with and whoever else would listen of such information.

At the age of eight Mesym saw the fall of his house by the hands of some people he not only trusted but loved as family fighting alongside some who tried to kill his father since the man became head of the house. The lord protected his son by locking him in his room and barricading it with himself inside and the best of his personal guard beside him as his troops mostly consisting of mercenaries with a few old friends of the family alongside them fighting outside. All seemed well until the door burst open revealing what seemed like a deformed man with odd ears from afar until it looked towards Mesym and grinned revealing very inhuman teeth. The abomination then began attacking ever guard it faced defeating them with ease. It the reached an old man who it considered weak and simply through him aside with such force that the man was out cold as soon as he hit the ground. Then the thing reached Mesym's father who attempted to attack it with the blessed sword yet at his current age he was very slow and the beast defeated him easily. The thing then drained his father right in front of Mesym as all the kid could do was watch in horror as the sounds of the battle reigning outside was still easy to hear within the room.

Once the thing finished it picked up Mesym and was about to do the same when it's eyes went wide with shock as a dagger was stabbed through it's head..yet the thing simple turned around with a look of fury on it's face when it saw the old man who it thought as weak grin for a second before the blessed sword his father used took the thing in the neck and decapitated it easily. The kid couldn't do much more then shake in horror when the old man bent down and hit the boy in his cloak before leading the kid out of the large house his family resided in. Before the cloak covered his eyes he noticed a Blazing Eye on the man's steel breastplate before his eyes where covered by the cloak.

The strange man revealed himself to be the captain of his father's guard after bringing him back to his farm. He also told the kid that he used to be part of the Legion of the Light before he was forced to leave due to the fact that he broke his leg fighting a vampire. The man then trained Mesym with his father's old sword since then and raised him as his own child as Mesym did his best to train himself in the area of magic of which he had some skill in manipulating. The old man died of some strange illness along with his wife when Mesym was eighteen. Before the man died however he gave Mesym all he owned and even gave him the strangely decorated dagger that he stabbed the vampire in the head with so very long ago along with a ring bearing Mesym's family's coat of arms of which was given to the head of the house along with the blessed sword. Mesym then used the gold given to him to purchase some armor being how the old man's didn't fit him properly and what he couldn't purchase he did his best to work out in favors to the owner until he earned the armor. He wore the cloak the old man wrapped him with when he was a child and did his best to get it into as fine a condition as possible.

The man then joined the Legion of the Light at the age of nineteen and after four years he was able to earn the rank Lieutenant and was able to increase both his magical and sword related skills over time while also occasionally practicing with his dagger. He currently hoped to reach a higher rank soon and to get his vengeance on those who betrayed his family and the enemies that convinced them to do so.

Important Items: Demonpiercer-A blessed longsword passed down from generation to generation given to the head of the house Enwald originally owned by the lesser known vampire hunter who was famed for acts of which didn't involve killing vampires who founded the house of which does more damage then an average sword would do when faced against things of vampiric origin.

Ring of the House Enwald-A ring given to the head of the house Enwald before it was made into nothing more then a few scattered minor houses of no significant political power. Showing it can get him as many instant allies as it can get him enemies.

Fiendscythe-The dagger given to him by the old man who saved his life from what would have very likely been his own death. It is of no significant power yet is treasured by Mesym.

Very nice, accepted. I'll add you to the roster.

Tomorrow I will begin work on the expanded story and expansion on the Seven, though it will simply be more detail with better explanation than any kind of major reworks. Over the weekend Magic, Technology and the Races should be fleshed out and that should be all that needs work done.
