Lychee wrote:Rupia could only back away at the sight of the obviously foreign student who towered over her. A teacher, Rupia scolded herself, a teacher! She must not let down the poor little dear, no matter his height... or obvious weaponry. the latter was, of course, allowed in Lychee, but Rupia only cringed at the sight of the burly old things.
"Hello, dear, and welcome to Lychee State Academy. You are..." Rupia pulled out the book containing every exchange student's name, picture, and country- "Festus Lugene Funderbuck, am I correct?"
She smiled her famous honey-sweet grin at the young student, in hopes it would ease the poor dear into her little system.
"Festus, now that you're the first one to arrive you may choose a residence. See all the homes behind me, inside the steel gate? You can pick any one, now that I've registered you. Oh-" Rupia caught herself- "I'm Mrs. Rupia-Lorraine Cree, your Foreign Cultures teacher. It's a pleasure to meet you, honey bunches."You may create the appearance of a building due to your country's architecture. For example, if Festus wants a log cabin, make him choose a log cabin-like residence. And a number to go along with it.

First she noticed the large Southern boy, and wondered absently if he was descended from the "ji'anti", a race of large men-like entities that warred with the Olympians when the earth was young. He must be, she thought, as he was much larger than any student she'd seen. That didn't necessarily deter her, but it did put her off ease.
She found herself subconsciously scooting closer to him, though, when she saw the Nazi arrive. Between living 14 years in the GTR, and being a Sacheyneyani Nationalist, she feared Nazis like most men feared the plague. She recalled the recent 2nd Annual Address, however, where she had been told of a group of 'decent Nazis', and put her mind slightly at ease by convincing her that he was one of them. Coincidentally, he was one of the ones that had been spoken of in the Address, but she had no way of immediately confirming this.
Nothing in particular struck her about Cotture, or about Chase, but she took notice of both of them, as well. They seemed decent to her, and she smiled as people started introducing themselves. She cleared her throat to speak, but did so softly, not particularly wanting to be heard by anyone who wasn't in the immediate vicinity - not even sure she wanted to be heard by those who were in the immediate vicinity. "Hail, and blessings of the Gods, friends." She recited as she had learned in 'etiquette class' back home, with a small stutter on 'hail'. "I am D'tonier Ajul, of the Sacheyenyani Territory of Balcna. It is nice to meet you all."

''It is unacceptable to be late in The Peoples East Africa, you know. I can't expect anything less from a capitalist hellhole.''
He was wearing a pair of black pants, a black shirt, and a black jacket. Black shoes with black socks covered his feet. He has the insignia of National Blood Worship on a chain around his neck.
Díkù turned grabbed his two suitcases and waited by the door as the plane came to a stop on the runway. He took a step out and breathed in this foreign air.
''Even the odour of the land if foul. Never mind, I must meet my hosts.''
He started the walk to the sign that said "FOREIGN STUDENTS OVER HERE, NOW!".
''These people have the nerve to address me as anything less than a master race. I should lea...''
He has noticed Festus. His jaw dropped. He whispered to himself in his native tongue.
''The Forest Ogres... I thought they died out years ago.''
He turned to the foreign teachers.
''Greetings comrades! I am Díkù Hàyíjè Músájèx, his most brilliant prodigy of The Peoples East Africa. I have come here to learn of your culture and expand my wisdom.''

Cumberlanda wrote:Chase himself was unaware that his bow was classy, it was just a thing he was taught at a young age, by his father. Same with addressing the teacher by "Madame." It was just common to him. Something millionaires seemed to do to each other, he thought. He wasn't going to inherit the company, no, that was Colin's, his brother's, burden to bear. However, he still had ambitions, and he was going to act professional. But then he had to face his own demons in high school. He had to hide his family's wealth, impossibly so, and he still was bullied quit a bit. Until he met a guy named Leroy. He wasn't a bully by any stretch, but he was always able to fight off any bullies. Leroy's family was poor, and abusive, often beating him before school. Chase's family was able to help him out, giving Leroy and his family clean and new clothing, but his parents were still abusive, often taking Leroy's gifts and selling them for drug money. Finally, the Lanier family adopted Leroy and his 6 siblings. These acts inadvertently led Leroy to protect Chase from any bullies. But that didn't matter now, his father couldn't help him here, and he was in a strange and new land. At least it looks like there's enough area to ride a dirt bike. Of course, he'd have to get his bike from customs.
After hearing the teacher, he returned his gaze to Festus, and noticed his trance-like state. He pulled his earbuds out of his ears and nudged him a bit.
"Hey, pal, you alright? Forgive me, but you seemed...off. Thinking of home?"
