I have a question. I recently created a region and am creating a recruitment telegram. How do I tag it as a recruitment telegram? And how do I get the little button at the bottom that says "Move %nation% to %region%."?

Click the down arrow next to the recipient box and click "mark as recruitment". Make sure it says "for region" and not "for an organization", then the button will automatically be added at the end.

On the delegacy:

How does delegacy work if multiple people have the same number of endorsements? I want to repay people endorsing me by returning the favour, but I don't know if it will make them the WAD.

I'm fairly certain the tie goes to the person who is currently the delegate--a majority is needed to change the delegacy.

Can confirm - found it in the Technical Forum FAQ. Tie always goes to the incumbent.

How would you get somebody to join a very new region? I made a region about 4 hours ago, sent 30 TG's, nobody joined my region.

My success rate (and I believe I have a very good telegram) is 2%. So when I send 100 telegrams I get 2 nations on average. It's arduous work.

Some other tips: use color in your WFE, but not too much. Establish a clear vision/theme for your region and stick to it.

If you'd like me to take a look at your recruitment telegram, post it, and I can give you some feedback. : )

I'm somewhat in the same boat as the above questioner, I started my own region a while ago, and got a few WA members but didn't put enough into recruitment to really get it off the ground. I'm probably going to have a bit more time moving forward, and I was wondering what type of success rates to expect so I can weigh starting my own region versus joining an already established region that doesn't really fit what I want exactly.

I have NS++ so I could do API recruitment, and I could do some stamp recruitment too. And of course I'll manually recruit when I can. Does anyone know the general success rates for recruiting new nations through those three methods independently at the moment? I would assume manual recruitment is the most successful per TG since fewer do it, is that true?

They say average success rate is 0-1%.

It doesn't really matter what method you use, what matters is what group your target. A lot of people do new nations, but you could also target refounded nations or WA nations. The success rate is generally 0-2% per sent message. Manual can be the most successful if you target certain nations.

I wrote a dispatch about recruiting and you're welcome to read it: http://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=399649

This was about 10 days ago and I've learned quite a lot since then, adopted a better telegram, and improved my percentage. I only manually template recruit.

Weird. It says you're a "non-executive" founder, which means you've locked yourself out of Regional Control.
I personally have no idea why you locked yourself out of Regional Control, but it means that unless you're the WA Delegate, you can't do anything.

Yeah, I am a noob at this. I wanted to build a democratic region. Could I start off as an executive founder and then change it later?

I would suggest you just leave the region and start a new one. Just remember to allow yourself permanent access to Regional Control.
