As with most animal rights groups, I dislike them. PETA is by far the most despicable though, and has next to no redeeming qualities.

Not that I'm opposed to a certain degree of animal rights/welfare, but I'm largely satisfied with what we have currently in Canada.

PETA sounds like a good think, but what they do is just stupid. We need a organization that supports eating meat. But does it in a way that would make vegetarians (who are different from vegans. Vegans don't eat anything that was or came from a animal. Vegetarians just don't eat meat.) and meat eaters happy. Plus the organization won't do anything stupid.

I'm not entirely sure what the animals in the middle are, but the ones on the bottom are jackrabbits. Jackrabbits are vermin and tend to ruin farmers crops if there's too many of them. Hunting them is more or less a public service in rural areas. Much like gophers and prairie dogs up here.

Anyway, assuming this is the case, it was likely a routine varmint cull and they decided to make that message afterwards.

We'd probably be better off just not raising cows at all. Livestock are environmentally catastrophic, and there are other sources of calcium.

Milk and dairy is a terrible source of calcium.

Only 30% or so of its calcium is biologically available, furthermore calcium needs to be consumed with many other nutrients in order to end up in our bones and teeth, otherwise it's just excreted or accumulates in inappropriate parts of the body, becoming a health issue (see kidney stones).

Countries with high consumption of milk and dairy tend to have a higher occurrence of osteoporosis and bone fractures than the ones with low consumption of it.

If you want calcium, eat cruciferous vegetables, cucurbitaceae vegetables' seeds and tofu.
