I heard about this on the radio. From one witness account, the guy who found the finger tip, it seemed like the MoveOn.Org guy came accross the street and singled out the senior citizen (not any of the other younger and healthier anti-health-care-insurance protesters). Stories are also mixed on who may have thrown the first punch, but biting off a geezer's finger tip? I mean doesn't biting usually come into play when you're really desperate?

According to the article, he wasn't even a protester, just some dude who wanted to know what the hubub was. He wouldn't even say whether he was for or against the health care reform. There is a 'reel missing' element to how he ends up in a scuffle where his finger gets bitten, though.

Apparently, the guy was at the MoveOn.Org rally, on the MoveOn.Org side of the street, chanting with the MoveOn.Org pro-health-care-insurance-reform demonstrators, before witnesses saw him come across the street. He may or may not be an "official" MoveOn.Org member, but he was with them and championing their beliefs regarding HCIR, so I believe it's fair to call him, as I did in the topic title, a "MoveOn.Org Protester".
