Brief History of Nation: The Rebellions of 1837 and 1838 are a success in Canada, however, they quickly become more than what they were expected to be. Quebec gains independence from Britain, and conquers modern day Quebec, New Foundland, and Nova Scotia. Britain tries to retaliate, but eventually stops due to the Anglo military disaster of the 1840's in Afghanistan, and don't send troops in fearing a similar guerrilla war in the New World. During the American Civil war, Quebec invades northern New England and establishes a "Hereditary Republic", or rather as most of the world correctly assumes, a Kingdom. During the great war of 1914-1918, a mass expulsion of immigrants from Poland comes to New England. They fight on the side of the allies during the war. The Republic enters a 3 month long civil war between fascists, communists, and democratics (monarchists) during 1938, which the democratics win. After the invasions of Poland and France, the Republic, along with Quebec, joins the allies yet again during WW2. They participate in the campaigns, taking in governments-in-exile and refugees from Europe. They participate in Normandy and the push into Germany. After the war, most was peaceful for about twenty years. During the late '60s and into the late '70s, an insurgency campaign was squashed during the "10 Years of Blood", in which Communist and Fascist militant groups fought one another and the government, inspired by those in Italy. The republic became a booming economic power after the insurgency, thanks to Natural Gas being found off the coast of the Republic. Enter 2016. The Republic, still reaping spoils from a brief invasion of Rhode Island and Connecticut in 2002, stands in the world. Brief History of Nation:
The People of California was succumbed to a South West Federation type of politcal alliance/organization that kept relative political stability within the disunited country. The Federation provided economic stability, and above all military assistance to one another. This Federation ultimately failed as multiple states began uprisings. The loose Federation failed to quash these uprisings as no series response was mounted because of the lack of centralized government. California did a little more than stage uprisings. A full blown Revolution was under way.

In 1965 an armed revolt officially began. The goal was to overthrow the weak Governor-General and his police force stationed throughout the state. The Revolutionaries began to storm police arsenals, acquiring weapons and such. 5 years of struggle against resistance from a rather impressive police force, a new nation was born at the cost of 575,000 people. The Leader of the Revolutionary group was the 30 year old Police Colonel Caesar Marquez. He naturally became the new leader of the Fledgling nation and guided it through a tough decade of birth. It took a decade just to begin the basics of a government fully equipped with a legislative branch, Supreme Court and a very powerful Executive Branch, a constitution was written modeled after the old US constitution however Caesar pulled some strings and used his clout in the Revolutionary Inner Circle and pulled off a string of 7 domestic terrorist attacks each occurring for each day of the Week. After compelling the people to suspend the Constitution, the executive branch sustained virtually unlimited power. Caesar promised his people the dawn of a new era, that the were to be the new Roman Empire that the world was meant to feel their influence and expansion. Caesar proclaimed the new Federal Relublic of Nova Roma and himself Augustus Caesar. In a television broadcast he said he was going to hold a public referendum on deciding whether or no if the people want to become the Federal Republic of Nova Roma. 86% accepted the new change, while 10% said no, and 4% abstain. Although a free referendum took place the polls were predesignated as in certain places were sanctioned as voting in favor or against. The areas in which the polls hosted opposition votes were blocked most of the time by massive demonstrations.

Caesar established the Revolutionary Armed Forces in 1991. Over 345,000 volunteers signed up by 1995 675,000 and by 1998 725,000 soldiers. Caesar had over 46 embassies in countries he felt were worth the diplomatic talks for. By 2001 he had made contacts with organized crime groups such as the Triad and Mafia. By 2004 the New Republic was a major entrance for drugs to enter the continent. Caesar was made wealthy by taxing the transports of the drugs and passing through the country. Statues of Caesar were erected, massive Mansions and palaces and new weapons were bought for the army. Caesar felt comfortable enough that he placed claims on Las Vegans or the entire Southern Tip of Nevada then called the Commonwealth of Nevada. In 2008 Caesar staged an invasion of the Commonwealth pouring over 80,000 troops, 600 T-64 tanks, and thousands of artillery pieces. The War lasted until early 2009 where a ceasefire was created. By 2012 Caesar was nearly assassinated and went insane and paranoid. He established a Secret Police which tortured and killed over 25,000 people, the army began taking control over the situation and created a de facto Junta rule in substitute of Caesar, that's where we see the Republic now with a power struggle that could turn violent.

Brief History of Nation: When the Union invaded Confederate Virginia, it seemed the the state's citizens that the war was lost. And then, the union collapsed, and her troops deserted. the confederacy by now was also collapsing. General Robert E. Lee had to take a side, should he support the collapsing confederacy, or should he help bring one of the various groups within Virginia to power. Lee of course took the side of his home state. With the Generals support a democratic republic took control, and soon the democratic republic of Virginia was formed. The state wanted to reunite west Virginia and Virginia, and soon they invaded. With the union dissolved it was easy to establish order over West Virginia. Morale was high within the small Virginia Army, soon they struck again, seizing Maryland and adding it to its borders, along with making the former Union Capitol the Capitol of Virginia. The nation quickly started to resemble the Confederacy, former confederate leaders quickly started to arrive within its borders, including Jefferson Davis, who escaped after the collapse of the confederacy. Due to the practice of slavery being allowed within the republic, relations with New Africa were cold. The republic became caught up in many different wars throughout the years, and during the first world war sold weapons, food, and equipment to the Germans. By 2000 slavery is still legal, and relations are still strained between New Africa and Virginia, however the lives of slaves are drastically improved due to the Virginia Slave codes of 1990, in which slaves must be provided with three meals a day, decent living quarters, and getting at least two hours of free time each month, howrvethey cannot leave the owners property without the owner himself. Children cannot be separated from both parents and beatings can only be inflicted for severe offenses. The various radical groups have caused tension within the state itself.

Due to the practice of slavery being allowed within the republic, relations with New Africa were cold. The republic became caught up in many different wars throughout the years, and during the first world war sold weapons, food, and equipment to the Germans. By 2000 slavery is still legal, and relations are still strained between New Africa and Virginia, however the lives of slaves are drastically improved due to the Virginia Slave codes of 1990, in which slaves must be provided with three meals a day, decent living quarters, and getting at least two hours of free time each month, howrvethey cannot leave the owners property without the owner himself. Children cannot be separated from both parents and beatings can only be inflicted for severe offenses. The various radical groups have caused tension within the state itself.
