Indeed. Pudding DeFarrah will be singing "Walrus From St. Paulus" to the tune of "Asshole From El Paso", which is itself based on "Okie From Muskogee."

Well, this time there will be one less, as we say goodbye to Puppetville and hello to Brittanny. At least Brittanny will have an entry which talks about how evil capitalists are, how we must rise against them, and a performance which includes burning effigies of Adam Smith.

That might actually beat out "Walrus from St. Paulus" for Lord Almighty Gregory's 12 points. He's quite egotistical. Praising him will probably get you farther than insulting Saintland, especially since Lord Almighty Gregory has had trouble distinguishing parody from legitimate praise before.

Confirmed. If I don't have the time, then Kasanova will enter "Euphorbia", a breathtaking, body-moving song about spurges.

Host Bid

Image

For the third time, Normandy and Picardy will put in a host bid. However, instead of using the older city of Caen, this time, the host bid committee have turned to the young and vibrant hub of Rouen. It was a natural choice, as it is modern, welcoming and ready for a contest at the magnitude of Worldvision. The River Seine carries the party spirit through the city and is representative of the music which is a passion in this region. The people here are warm, friendly and passionate about everything they do, and their minds and hearts are Alight With Music and it is this spirit we want to share with you. We invite the world to Rouen for the greatest party in the Multiverse, Worldvision.

A hub of culture and music, Rouen is the creative heart of Normandy and Picardy. Musicians, artists and all those interested in the creative arts are welcome here, as is anyone of any creed - even energy creatures - and they are free to share their ideas with the multiverse. Many famous music pieces have been composed here, which will be showcased during the pre-show and the interval, from classical to EDM. The party spirit is contagious here, and you will love your time in Rouen. Due to the flame of creativity which burns in this spirit, we have chosen the motto "Alight With Music", and this is represented in the motto. We want to light the party spirit which we all love and have experienced through consecutive competitions. It also represents the passion that burns in each of our hearts throughout the contest.

Throughout this bid, you will see a lighter purple being used instead of the darker shade in the logo. This is to show how different we all are but that really we are all people, just different types, just like colours have different shades. Also, purple is the colour of Rouen and therefore we decided it would work. The golden text on the logo is for a similar reason in that it is a colour associated with the city due to its history of trade and prosperance.

Rouen
Image

Rouen, although it has existed for years, was rebuilt after the War of the Guilds, a civil war which ravaged the country two centuries ago. It was rebuilt for large numbers of people to walk it's streets, meaning that it is ready for the vast crowds of Worldvision fans. Although it was geometrically built, the city still retains it's architectural beauty so those searching for an old, charming city won't be disappointed. For those who want to learn about the culture and history of Rouen, you can visit the "Rouen Museum of Music and Culture", reachable by the bus and shuttle networks which will be discussed later on. However, for those who prefer to party, Rouen has plenty of bars and nightclubs for you to have a good time in.

It's history and it's people have been affected by the greatly by the River Seine, which provides a path to the coasts and the major port of Le Havre which can still be reached quickly by boat or train for an enjoyable day at the beach before the contest. You can take a ferry along the river, as it travels through stunning countryside, or you can walk or cycle alongside it through picturesque scenery. There is truly nothing like it. The Seine provided the water for the early town, which due to trade along it grew to be one of the richest cities in what was then the Confederacy of Normand Guilds, a small remnant of which survives in the City of Rouen Council, separated from the Rouen Commune (imagine the City of London). It is a symbol of our desire for freedom and independence in all its forms, including in music.

Enjoy the vibrant night life or enjoy our nation's culture

After an enjoyable evening, whatever you decide to do, you will be welcome in one of the many hotels, who will provide the rooms throughout the competition for free if you show them your ticket. With comfortable beds, high-end amenities including showers and bath, laundry services and a mini-bar in every room, and the best technology in terms of entertainment, with flat screen televisions with cable TV free of charge and during the contest, TV from your country will be provided, if a deal has been reached with your national broadcaster. With WiFi connectivity throughout the hotel, as throughout the city, you will always be connected with everyone. We pride ourselves on our excellent hospitality, and our friendly and helpful staff will make sure that you have a great time here in Rouen.

The acts themselves will stay in the Rouen Grand Hotel, close to the River Seine, which flows through the city, but far away enough so that the musicians can have a good night sleep and a deserved rest, if that is their thing. Due to the fantastic public transport though, you are never too far from the action. With a spa, cinema complex and a modern, high tech and well equipped gym amongst other amenities, the hotel will be the perfect place for the actors. NPTV and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have agreed to totally pay the costs whilst the contestants are here.

Food
Image

Throughout the centuries, the people of Normandy and Picardy have taken great pride in their food, from delicious, mouth-watering and gorgeous pastries to delectable, divine and ambrosial steak, particularly with peppercorn sauce. The government-owned restaurant chain, GoodFood, will offer 10% on all it's meals over the Worldvision period, meaning that you too can enjoy the wonderful cuisine of Normandy and Picardy, and especially that of Rouen. It is often said that when you walk down the Roa ot Boulaner, the smell of the bread and pastries baking is heavenly, and you feel as if you have grown wings and are flying. For those on the go, Rouen also offers enjoyable fast-food. Don't expect greasy kebabs and fatty burgers and prepare to enjoy fast-food Normand style. From quick sandwiches made with the fillings you want at "The Sandwich Shop" to the highly enticing and quickly cooked curries, those who want a nice, easy and speedy meal will be spoilt for choice. One thing is for certain; at the end of the night, you are bound to be full and content. Although Normand cuisine will be put on show during the contest, for those who would rather have something familiar or try something from a different culture we will cater to people from all countries. We want people to come together from across the multiverse and be one, and food is a perfect medium for this, as is music. Whether your style is high quality, restaurant style meals or large, hearty plates of food, we will make sure that you eat well.

Transport
Image

Improvements to the infrastructure of Rouen now mean that people can arrive at Rouen-Asterias Airport, which has three terminals and can handle the influx of people coming to watch the contest, and travel on the High-Speed Metro system, meaning they can reach the city in 5 minutes. The Metro system will enable fans to speedily get around the city, and there will be minimal or no queuing as the trains come regularly enough to stop this from happening. If you would prefer to stay above ground, then there is the bus and tram system which will help you travel to the contest as speedily as possible. We want fans to have the best experience possible, so whereas foreign tourists would normally have to pay, for the duration of the contest, travel on public transport services will be free. Another scheme we have implemented in order to make the city more environmentally friendly is the Hire-A-Bike initiative, in which for the cost of 1 Normand Franc, you can hire a bike for the day, so you can enjoy the beautiful sights of the city at your own pace.

The Contest
Image

The contest will be held in the Stadia ot Rouen (pictures below). The stadium has just been built but has already hosted the final of "SO YOU CAN SING?", a singing talent show. It will also host the final of Acet ot MondeVis, the final of the national selection process for Worldvision. The music has been custom built for music events and as such will be perfect to host the contest. It has replaced the older "Stadia ots Contestas", and dwarfs the older building. With a seating capacity of 37,500, fans from all over the multiverse will be able to be Alight With Music together in the stadium. Located at the back of the stadium is the greenroom (image also below), where the artists can talk amongst each other and enjoy the contest just as much as the fans can. Refreshments will be provided for the acts, and if any of your acts have any allergies, tell us and we will make sure their refreshments are allergen free; we believe it is important that all people have a chance to enjoy the fun and excitement this contest offers.

The Greenroom, ready for the contest

Now it is time for the most important part, the stage. Designed specifically for the contest, it uses a unique design. The back is curved and made up of tubes, on which are millions of tiny LEDs which can be used to create almost any effect. The tubes represent the chimneys of the factories of Rouen, factories which have played a major role in it's history. Any number of different patterns and designs are possible, so let your creative side out. It is shaped like an eye, looking forward to the future, as that is the way Rouen looks.

An artist's interpretation of the stage

The contest will be packed with content- not only from the entries, but also from the opening and interval acts which will showcase the culture and different forms of music which come out of Rouen. The acts will be of many different genres and in different languages, English, Crektoyus(A conlang) and Icelandic, and will all be by aspiring musicians from Rouen. There will be preshow music, the contents of which is below, once again to showcase the wide range of musical talent to come out of Rouen and of Normandy and Picardy. We want to build a burning passion in young peoples' hearts for music, just as we want to do for all of you, and to help in this we will also host mini concerts around the city throughout the duration of Worldvision in order to showcase talent.

The songs for the interval acts are below, along with the language they will be sung in.
Tune 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMOjAYO3ifg&list=PL6rNC8SSESmEF-55nsij7WIo4cyo1qo4T - English
Tune 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uz7QjKaF_4 - Crektoyus (A conlang of mine)
Tune 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3wgPGSKg6M - Icelandic (I don't know why, maybe because of the tune I am using)

The host for the contest will be Robert Farman, host of Night!, a popular TV program on the NPTV network previously hosted by John Peytman until he disappeared at Worldvision 36 after an incident with the entry for Missus X, and, for a brief period of time, Michel Huryton - he was later found guilty by Russadonia of drugs trafficking and is facing justice there. Robert Farman, as well as being the host of Night!, has recently hosted "So You Can Sing?", a singing contest as well as "Acet Ot Mondevis". He is an experienced host and will make sure the competition runs smoothly.

We have also carefully selected the theme music for this competition. It is a fusion of modern and classical music, and has been selected to show the diversity that exists not just in Rouen but throughout the entire multiverse, and how different people can be brought to together. The link to the theme is below.

Postcards
As we want this contest to be a celebration of music, culture and the arts, the postcards will consist of your nations act but with "artistic" effects in your nation's colour. We want to show that culture is shared throughout the multiverse and that we are brought together by music and the arts. We also want to show the passion for music that exists in both the competitor's hearts and the hearts of anyone who is involved with the contest. Also, the lines of the paint represent the staves and the flowing nature of music, and we want to show that music is important. Below are the examples for the Ekozian entry and the Normand entry. The backgrounds are slightly different but this is due to the fact the postcards are hand painted an so discrepancies may occur. The postcards will require an image of your artist, so if this bid is chosen could you send your image at the earliest convenience.
OOC: They are made on Photoshop but the background settings for the for the Ekozian one is slightly different (the Ekozian one will be changed shortly.)

Last night, the second edition of Elejamievision aired, again from the Cross Plaza Music Hall. Despite heavy competition from Arándano with their song "Pajero", Iyilim rapper The Baroness with her entry "Cencsti" ("Gangster") and alternative/noise rock band Halstroff with their song "Driveby", it was Sataeveni Jamuri - on his second attempt - with the Motown-esque "Loving is Easy" that was the clear winner, with 68% of the vote.

As a result, he will be the first Elejamian solo entrant, although he will be joined on stage by family, friends and - hopefully - locals playing music and/or providing backing vocals.
