The Argent Festival is an extended holiday celebrated in honor of Lady Sylvalladine of the Twelve Disciples by many of the Lawful Orders, the Order of the Phantom Blade in particular.
Throughout the duration of the festival, four days, song and dance aplenty is held, for everyone to honor the gift that Lady Sylvalladine spread through the universe, the words of Aradain. Men and women alike dress up snazzily for the occasion, evoking the splendor of the Lady and her followers in their time of peace. These are four days of celebration and bonding, meant to be spent with people important to one.
During the first day, everything is decorated with silver clovers and moonlight flowers, leaving the grounds upon which the holiday is celebrated drenched in pale white and argent light, the colors that represent the Lady. This is known as the Day of Lusters.
Throughout the second day, gifts of all types, preferably handmade or otherwise of a traditional nature are often exchanged between friends and relatives, as a sign of goodwill and peace, and also to strengthen the bonds between individuals. This is known as the Day of Smiles.
On the third day, everyone wears, in addition to their clothing, a golden bow on their heart finger. There is a strong belief among the celebrants of this tradition that this bow is a representation of the many virtues of Sylvalladine, and that when two people exchange their bows, an unbreakable promise is made between the two. The contents of this promise are determined by those exchanging the bows, but no matter what promise is made, it is thought to be everlasting if made through an exchange of bows on this day, which is known as the Day of Promises.
During the fourth and final day, at the fall of dusk, people gather before an enshrined replica of the Phantom Blade, of which there are many across the territories of the Order and still some more beyond their borders, and kneel before it, making a promise to themselves. After this solemn procedure, festivities resume as before until midnight, when argent bells toll and golden lights are raised in silence for a minute in remembrance of the legend and in tribute to the heroine. This last day is the Day of Vows.
