In this restart of Haiz's popular "Hypothetical Responses of Nations" series, hypothetical scenarios are posed to your nation's government on the subject of diseases and disorders.
Simply respond to the information posed in each scenario. Add as much detail as you want, addressing what your nation's current government would do to address the situation
Scenarios are intentionally made to include as many nations and states as possible. For example, no diseases are mentioned specifically to account for some nations eradicating diseases prevalent in other areas of the world. Should you still find any response not applicable to your nation, feel free to skip the scenario or say "N/A".
Remember that responses can come from both official government authorities or delegated private authorities, depending on how the infrastructure of your nation is established.
For your government's convenience, the prompts will be posed in one CODE box:

[box]1. Motivated by a decent sense of global citizenship (or, if you rather, a cunning if morally questionable PR campaign), your nation sent doctors and nurses to a far-off nation suffering from a particularly devastating epidemic of a reasonably contagious disease. After a month of treating victims, the safety measures taken by your nation's aid workers have failed to contain the spread of the disease. Several doctors and nurses have contracted it. With few medical resources to help even natives of the aforementioned countries, it is likely your aid workers will not recover if left overseas. The media and the public are asking what, if anything, can be done to help them. What is the response of your nation?[/box]
[box]2. A 87-year old anarchist familiar to both your nation's history books and the bedroom walls of your nation's rebellious youth has been imprisoned or in rehabilitation for decades after an unrivaled campaign of arson. However, doctors have confirmed he is now dying of a chronic and noncommunicable disease and almost [i]certainly[/i] has less than a year to live. Some activists in your nation are calling for his compassionate release. What is the response of your nation?[/box]
[box]3. A widespread but not crippling pandemic has caused border authorities in your nation to increase checks on incoming travelers from infected regions. Such a tourist apparently lied or otherwise concealed their health and has entered your nation while infected. As a result, your previously uninfected nation now has several confirmed cases of the disease. What is the response of your nation?[/box]
[box]4. Misinformation amongst a significant group of your nation's populace has led to paranoia over a relatively small epidemic in one of the nations bordering your nation. This paranoia has included workers and students confining themselves to their homes, ostracism of people with benign diseases that have similar symptoms to the aforementioned pandemic, and a sharp spike in sales of whatever apocalypse gear is legal. Bowing to constituent pressure, some government officials want to take enhanced albeit somewhat absurd actions, such as enacting ludicrously long quarantines, closing borders, and distributing iodine to the nation's schoolchildren. What is the response of your nation?[/box]
[box]5. A biological attack has left a moderately-sized but important city in your nation with a high rate of infection of an unknown and devastating airborne disease. Currently, the disease is contained in the city, but the efforts at containment are highly stressed and a nationwide epidemic seems probable. What is the response of your nation?[/box]
[box]6. A renowned scientist has announced that a new gene therapy treatment has been discovered that would virtually eliminate a behavioral genetic disorder that has frustrated your nation's medical community for a very long time. The treatment has met some opposition from various groups. Some object to gene therapy itself; however, most of the protesters object to the diagnostic criteria for the disorder, claiming it classifies behavior that does not impair individuals but may be viewed as socially deviant as a disorder. What is the response of your nation?
