The year is 1936. Its been 3 years since Hitler has taken seat as Furher of Germany, and he has began re-arming Germany ever since. A shadow of war is forming over Europe as countries bicker about what to do, who owns what, and how to deal with this and that. America has became isolated from Europe, as it wants nothing to do with their matter's. Japan and China fight each other, while India protests for freedom from Britain. The world is in chaos. Can you deal with it?

Paris

The new 5th Republic, founded by rebellious citizenry, was very different from previous French governments. The President and ruling party (currently the People's Socialist Party) now had control over the government, which it had lacked in the 4th republic. This allowed them to deliver on their promises, Minimum wadge, done, 85% tax on highest earners, done, ending of private schools, done. Now with a strong leadership, France could take back its place on the world stage. However all was not well with the world.

In Paris, President Ionno and his advisers looked over a map of the world. German rearmament, mutinous armies in Spain and now and Italian invasion of an independent country. France, a founding member of the League of Nations could not stand by and let Italy act like a 19th century imperialist. The parliament has suggested many ways to deal with Italy, from sanctions, arming the Ethiopian's and even amassing armies on the border. For now France would wait, but it they had to they could and they would act.

You have violated another nation's sovereignty with no reason. You have marched your armies in to the lands of a free country. This is against everything we tried to build after WW1, why are you doing this? I ask you to leave Ethiopia alone or face the consequences.

Hitler and his reichstag were preparing for the expedition into Africa, seeing that it would be crucial for the development of Germany. They realized that Italy planned on taking it, so they organized a treaty with Italy.

Dear Benito Mussolini,
It has come to our attention that you have been expanding into Africa, which has had our Interests for a while. We have came to warn you, and propose a treaty. First, I recommend leaving Algeria alone, seeing that if you did try to invade it, you would witness destruction from France. And second, the treaty. A large army of 300,000 was supposed to form in Munich, than be sent into Belgium. Also, 100,000 men were to be trained in Munich for 2 Week's, than be sent to Africa.

The USSR. It had the largest army and massive resources, however all was not well. While being not as badly affected by the depression as some countries, the economy was still in crisis. That is why Trotsky today announced a second 5 year plan. The first one had worked very well, lifting the economy out of dire depths of recession. This one would hopefully lift the economy out completely and reinstate it to its to its former might. The second five-year plan would give heavy industry top priority, hopefully putting the Soviet Union in its rightful place as the major steel-producing country of the world. Further improvements would be made in communications, especially railways, which will become faster and more reliable. During this second plan, women would be given a greater role, with the expansion of state child care, women would now be able to help improve the economy by joining factories or farms. Also Trotsky decided to make better relations with fellow socialist countries, namely France.

Thousands if men from the RUR military forces were marching in the republics capital for a special parade, it was the day Ukraine was granted its independence from the Soviet Union. Riding in a luxury RAM automobile sat the leader of the RUR, Reznov. Reznov had been president sense the Ukraine and Romania became one. And he has won many elections by amazing percentages.

During the 30s the RURs economy took a big hit and was in a semi-depression stage, and the only thing that is keeping the nation from going into a full depression and keeping its people from starving is the state-owned industries and businesses that Reznov had created.

The government invested a lot of funding into the state-owned company RAM that is a automobile company that is also tasked in producing military vehicles and tanks for the RUR. More factories are being ordered to be built across the nation. Three more factories were to be built in the Ukraine sector and two more to be built in the Romanian sector.

The RURs military is adequate with 235,000 men that is adequately equipped and trained. Reznov ordered large fortifications to be built to protect the RURs borders, especially along the Ukrainian-Russian border. The fortifications are emplaced with machine gun nests, AT guns, AA guns and large concrete bunkers and outposts.

The French people do not know what the government will do against Italy, many say the military mobilization is just a bluff while others say France should set sanctions against Italy.

Italy counters the french mobilization by mobilizing the entire african corps in libya and somaliland. Troops also begin to build up in the borders. The nation is prepared to go to war.

Maria informs the class that all students to join the Falange party will receive a whole letter grade in extra credit. She then took from the box a uniform bearing the Falange on a pin and a band sown to the right shoulder of the uniform. Maria explains that all students of Spain are to wear this uniform when the attend school. José knew things were changing in Spain, even though he was oblivious to politics.

This poster was advertised all over Germany, and Belgium. It gained 23,000 Volunteer members (Female), and 67,000 Male volunteer member's. It would take 2 weeks for them to be trained. Also, another poster went up, showing the Spanish leader, citizens, Soldiers, and Militia saying "These men are your friend!", than it showed the French flag, and the Spanish rebels "But these are your enemies!"

Belgium was easily conquered, and luxembourg surrendered after Belgium fell. Netherlands formed a formidable army of 150,000 men, 90,000 of which, where militia armed with primitive WWI technology. The former german militia and reserves of 100,000 merge with the 100,000 army in Belgium (Originally 125,000). It took a hour for the forces to converge to form the 3rd German Expedition Army, and soon conquer the Netherlands (At a cost of 87,000 Military deaths). German occupation of Netherlands-Belgium gained them a new army of 400,000 conscripted males, armed with primitive WWI technology. The armies was sent to invade France, but before the Belgian army and Dutch army reached France, 125,000 abandoned their post, and 70,000 were executed for trying to host mutinies. Another 40,000 were arrested for trying to alert the french.

After a few weeks of constant recruiting 33,000 men and women were redeployed to Barcelona to embark on their voyage to Germany. A horde of conscripted ships have made Barcelona the busiest port in Iberia. The only thing these brave men and women leave with is 2 months of rations, their clothes, and the falange manifesto(Twenty-Seven Points ).

José Antonio Primo de Rivera has just passed the Syndicate act, forcing every worker into a syndicate overseen by an appointed official. José also subsidy program for small business, any business that pulls in less than 150,000 USD can apply for subsidization. This is an attempt to boost the economy and lower unemployment.

France

The 700,000 strong French Army has been completely mobilized and moved to the German/Italian/Spanish border. Every meter is manned, the Belgium border, the Ardennes, the Rhine, every single area was manned. Also another 1.2 million reserves have been called up and are currently being mobilized to counter a possible Nazi attack. French 3,300 strong armour corps (Superior to German armour) has been moved mobilized and moved to the border to halt any attack in its tracks. In Brest, Calais and Marseilles, the massive French Navy (the third largest in the world after UK and USA) has been moved to battle stations. The government in Paris has applied to every French citizen to do their duty. However the government hopes war can be avoided and hopes German sees sense because if they attack France, Germany will be destroyed.

What you have done is enough to constitute an act of war. Belgium had a mutual defense pact with France and if you do not withdraw France will have to declare war on Germany. If this happens, both countries will loss many, many men but France will win. Do you want another Versailles?

The cruiser Émile Bertin sailed through French Waters, patrolling for smugglers, pirates, enemies of France anything relay that could damage France, each ship patrolling needed to search at least one ship per-day to limit the amount of illegal activities in French waters. However the Émile Bertin had seen very little action and it was nearing the end of the day, the captain, Nicholas Elya needed to search a ship before heading back to port, or else he would be chastised by his commanders. Just as Elya was preparing to order the ship back he saw lights on the horizon. Finally, a ship he thought. He ordered the light cruiser to head towards it and got together a contingent of marines to board the ship. As he got closer he saw the flag of the Spanish Falange flying but he didn't think much of it, weather the ship was from Italy, Spain or Iceland, it did not matter, Elya wanted to get back to port.

As the Émile Bertin got closer to the Spanish ship, Elya ordered a message to be flashed at them, it read:

Good evening Spanish ship,

I am so sorry to bother you at such an hour but I am afraid I will have to board your ship, it is normal practice as I am sure you know, so if could stop where you are so we can board. Thank you,

In Marseilles two new medium-fast battleships have been launched, the Dunkerque-class. In Paris plans are being drawn up for three new giant Richelieu-class battleship's.

Scandinavia watched as Europe edged closer to war. Ever since the end of the Great War the Scandinavians had been preparing for another war. They had been able to stay out of the last war, but everyone within the government believed they wouldn't be so lucky again.

The Scandinavian fleet was huge. It had been the focus of the military expansion. The air force was respectable as well. The Scandinavians thought that if it came to war they could win by controlling the sea and skies. The army was small, but very mobile, and well trained.

If war came to Scandinavia they would be prepared.

Spanish Ship

Lt Peter and 12 other marines (armed with sub-machine guns) from the Émile Bertin stood on deck of the Spanish vessel. In front of them stood the Spanish captain and some crew members. Peter smiled at them and said "I am sorry that we have had to disrupt your journey but the law requires us to stop random vessels, and you are the first one we came across. If you are abiding by French merchant law, the will only take half an hour." he stopped and took out a note pad "Are you carrying any other the following. Known criminals, military personnel, weapons, illegal drugs, counterfeit, pirated and patent-infringing goods or endangered animals? Also what is the number of crew and passengers in board?" after the question the marines would search the ship the sail back to port.
