Our women are generally given the right to dress as they wish just short of going around in your underwear. In the summer months women generally wear light clothing of shorts, jeans, t-shirts, tank tops and so on while in the winter months heavier cloths are worn due to the low temperatures which easily get into the negatives on an average day.

Many religious minorities can and do flaunt their religious clothing with Jews and Muslims bring the most noticeable but with Sikhs, Hindus, and Buddhist also commonly wearing traditional clothing as I many cristian sects particularly in the rural areas.

In the last decade both the Islamic Hijab and the Christian bonnet which had both been criticized as oppressive to women. Although the government said it had no right to regulate religious clothing the practice have both been attacked and their use are starting to become less common.

While society in general is fairly conservative, when it comes to clothing they are a bit more liberal. To a certain extend the amount of flesh you cover has affect on your appearance of wealth (i.e. a woman wearing a too-small t-shirt and shorts with no shoes is likely to look poor), the quality of clothing has a lot more to do with it.
Women tend to cover the lower halves of their bodies with skirts and dresses reaching as far as their knees or ankles. Generally, the higher a woman's skirt is, the younger she appears. This is due to the tradition of younger girls (i.e. a six-year old school girl) wearing shorter skirts (that allow more movement, think a bunch of kids running around a football field at lunchtime) and older girls (i.e. sixteen-year old school girl) wearing longer skirts (that make little effort toward movement, think girl walking at a gentle pace between classes, spending most of her time sitting down at a desk). Schoolchildren tend to have less variation in the colour of their skirts, they're usually duller colours (like black, brown, navy blue, grey), while adults (and children when they're not at school) wear brighter colours.
Footwear tends to be a little less varied. Schoolchildren pretty much universally wear black or brown sandals, although at later years closed in shoes are more common. Adult women wear closed in shoes or occaisionally boots (like men). Socks, which are usually black or white, are worn under closed in shoes, but not with sandals.
In warmer climates, children of both genders tend to wear nothing above their waists other than hats. As girls mature they begin to wear more clothing and usually cover their breasts, although little effort is specifically made to cover them. T-shirts and dresses, which often tend to bear fairly low cut -traditionally this has been to conserve fabric, and consequently there is some stigma surrounding this (although this has to do with appearing richer rather than modesty), however in recent years it has become more to do with fashion - are the most common items worn. T-shirts and dresses are usually brighter colours, although this depends on the function of the item - a dress worn solely when doing housework is unlikely to be a bright colour, while a dress worn during an outing or a special occasion is more likely to be brighter.
On special occasions women wear dresses (although younger child might not), that tend to be brighter colours and have more decoration, while for everyday wear dresses are less common and people dress for functionality rather than appearance.
