The Serene King and the Serene Queen (note: twins, not lovers) both have no intention of creating an heir. They also of course have no intention of ever dying, so it makes some sense. This does not stop either of them from engaging in carnal pleasures, they just do not do allow this to cause a pregnancy. In the case of the King, by chemically castrating himself. In the case of the Queen, by removing her own ovaries with a knife.

The Ascendancy's political system eliminates the need for a "heir" the nations citizens are called upon to vote for one of the candidates, the candidates being high ranking military officers (approximately 15 to 20) and once voted into office hold almost full political and military control of the government for the next 40 years as the emperor or empress.

DYMM Tuanku Muhammad Irfan V doesn't have a heir to the throne. But if he does, it doesn't effect much, as the Council of Rulers will elect a new ruler (Yang di-Pertuan Besar) among the rulers of the states of Ujang.

Her Majesty the Queen-in-Exile Taylana Tynian, First of Her Name, Heir Presumptive of the Lion Throne etc etc has neither mate nor child to succeed her at present. Therefore the Heir Designate of the Exilic Throne is her nephew the Prince Ostelond Tynian-Amaar, who is also childless and unmarried. If he should die then the heir will be his twin sister the Princess Elessia Tynian-Amaar.

If all three known living members of the Hosue Tyian should perish without issue, the Exilic Throne will default to Her Grace Nariel Amaar-Tynian, mother of the Prince and Princess as the Mother of the Nation and former Exilic Regent. This claim is enshrined not only by her considerable political and cultural power but also in ancient law and tradition - the House Amaar are the right hand of House Tynian and are the next-in-precedence amongst the Ancient Houses and therefore the Throne automatically would fall to the incumbent head of House Amaar if House Tynian were to be rendered extinct.

If His Highness the Prince Nathaniel Tynian 'The Exile', Lord of the Broken and the Lost, Heir Apparent of the Lion Throne and Rightful King and Overlord of the Terelain Race should make an appearance in the Isles at some point then by right of both blood, precedence and his symbolic marriage to Nariel would make him King of the Isles if his sister and children are dead. Granted the marriage was made without his knowledge or consent, but it's still spiritually valid.
