Guys, I've got a question. I'm looking to mount a 90mm Cannon on either a medium or heavy tank (Mid-to-late WW2 Era), and I've got two prototypes right now, here. Any opinion on which is better?

The longer one makes me think of the T34/85 later models as compared to the T34/76 early models.

I think for practical and performance reasons, a medium tank of the era wouldn't mount a 90mm without a decent size muzzle brake, which I didn't see in either drawing. The Sherman Firefly/105mm had a fairly significant muzzle brake, if memory serves. And the Russians only mounted a 100mm gun as a fixed forward weapon in their SU100 Assault Gun to counter the Jagdpanzer.

Not discounting the merits of putting a 90mm gun on a tank of WWII era - it could do a lot of damage against tanks built to perform against 75 or 76mm projectiles. However, remember the Germans deployed 88mm guns not unlike a 90mm in only the heaviest tanks (Tiger I, etc.).

I'd suggest looking at a more modern 90mm like the Cockerill, or the ones that were mounted on the M48 tank to get ideas if you want something light enough to fit to a medium tank. Otherwise, you're probably building a heavy for it.

The Pershing was considered a heavy tank during the war, but became a medium one after it.

It stands to reason that the maximum size of the gun practically is dependent on size.

Right. I didn't quite know what type of tank I should've mounted the 90 on, but I think I'll put it on the heavy tank then, and I'll use a 48 or 54mm on the medium tank.

Is there supposed to be ERA on the side as well?

Are you going to use camo?

Other then that it looks awesome.

Version with much better frontal turret armor

The stuff on the front of the turret is ERA with spaced armor under it but other then that the tank is ERA free, and I sadly lack the skillz to make camo lol.

The thing on the back of the turret is a basket for extra supplies/ slat armor

On the JG forum there is a whole section of camo, I recommend blowing it up to 400% for tanks.

A light machine gun I've been stuck on for a while now. I think I like it.

Features pull-back feed with switchable feed tray modules, allowing for pan magazines, box magazines, left, or right handed belt feed. Ejection is always to the right.

So...I made my first ship.



Don't ask me what it is. Your guess is as good as mine. I just opened Paint.NET and went crazy. Considering I just wanted to make something that resembled a ship, I'm proud of it.

I don't plan on this being an actual warship, but...maybe with some modifications, I could use it for military whaling (we use giant, mutated whales as shore defense. Don't ask).
