Request for PT/Post-Apocalyptic Weaponry & Supplies

Postby Organicia » Fri Aug 29, 2014 2:04 am

It's early morning when you hear a knock on the door and open it to find a breathless child clutching a small envelope. "'Scuse me, I gots a message to deliver to ya, " she pants, holding the envelope out to you with a grubby hand. You look her over - she is about waist height, with small brown eyes and a button nose. She is missing a few baby teeth and the rest are crooked and decaying. She looks like she has not bathed in all her life, and she smells like it too. You take the letter from the girl, wrinkling your nose, and her mouth twisted wryly as she waits, fidgeting impatiently. You read...

Dear Friend,

I have searched long and far for someone who could supply my people with suitable weapons for hunting and protection. I can only hope that this message does not go astray, and that my efforts are not in vain.

My request includes any type of past time or post apocalyptic weaponry and supplies for use in a post-apocalyptic nation state. This may include knives and swords, traditional archery and hunting supplies, horses, cattle and wagons for transport, to name a few. My city and it's surrounding state are small, and survivors few. We are no large army and as such, need not require much.

Please understand that due to security and safety reasons I have not enclosed payment or part thereof. If you are able and willing to fulfill this request, please send a reply via the bearer of this message. I will arrange for a suitable means of collection and deliver your confirmed payment price in 5 days time.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours in business,
First Lady Skylar of Organicia .

"Gangaris," shouts the large, stern looking man siting at the front desk of Farwalker's guild hall, "come here." His accent it thick, some what resembling that of one from the middle east. In moments, second an even larger man enters the front room, bowing "Yes Guild Master Iraeis, what is it that you need?"
"Watch the front, I have a visitor to attend to."

The first man comes out from around the desk and kneels down so that his head is the same height as the young girls. He looks older than the others here. His face is weathered and wrinkled and his shoulder length hear is a salt and pepper mix. His ice blue eyes meet hers. They look sad, as though he were holding back tears. He looks back to the other man, who is now behind the desk, "Send a message back to the homeland, there are people in need. There is an aid effort to organize."
He looks to the girl again, speaking a soft voice of a father, "Would you like something to eat miss?"

First Lady Skylar Grey wandered through the busy market trying to remain innocuous as she peered at the many goods on display. She knew by the surrounding crowds and by the curious glances she received by the jostling buyers and sellers that she looked anything but subtle. Maybe her coming here had been a mistake? No, her people needed protection and if she could not find their ill-resourced guards proper weapons than resistance against any kind of invasion would be futile. They barely had enough supplies to hunt for food at the moment, and that was just in the city. Who knew what kind of hardship crushed other apocalypse survivors who had found a place to shelter in Organicia.

The sun bore relentlessly into Skylar's cloaked back and she dared to remove it, folding it over her arm. Underneath she wore simple shirt, riding pants and leather boots. A knife was concealed in her left boot and another in the sleeve of her shirt. She had assumed weapons were not legally carried in this city, but she did not want to travel without them. A small leather satchel was slung over her right shoulder and a leather cord hung around her neck, whatever hung on it hidden beneath her shirt. The curious glances turned to outright stares. She didn't exactly fit in with the fashion here. Shrugging off her insecurity, Skylar ventured to a booth selling cool drinks and handed over some coins. Sipping the colourful liquid and appreciating the coolness sliding down her throat, she mentally high-fived herself for managing to pick up some NSD on her way there.

The light pounding of feet came to her ears and Skylar turned swiftly to see the young girl - Ana was her name - running towards her. Slowing to a jog, she pulled a note from her dirty dress pocket.
"I gots ya one!" she exclaimed happily.
Hope flared in Skylar's heart and she took the note from Ana's hand.

"Thank you," Skylar said kindly, folding up the note. Glancing around, she realised that a relationship with a street urchin did nothing to thwart the people's stars. She put an arm around the girl's shoulders.
"Do you know a place we could go to eat that has less prying eyes? I would like you to tell me about everyone you encountered this morning."
The girl thought for a moment, then nodded. She started off at a trot, pausing momentarily to ensure Skylar was following her.

After a short distance Skylar found herself at an inn door, and entered cautiously with Ana in tow. A waitress smiled in welcoming before catching a glimpse of Ana and wrinkling her nose.
"Uh, we don't serve street folk," she said uncertainly.
Skylar's eyes narrowed.
"I'm not sure who you're referring to as street folk but I can assure you both myself and my friend Ana have quite comfortable accommodation for this evening," she replied crisply.
"I see," said the waitress after a momentary pause. With that she led them to a secluded table beneath a small window and waited impatiently for their orders.

When the food arrived, Skylar listened intently to Ana's recount of the morning's events. The girl spoke rapidly, pausing only to eagerly shovel more food into her mouth.

"He sounds like a nice man," Skylar smiled.
"He is," replied Ana through a mouthful of pudding. "I told 'im that ya fed me well 'nough, but I wouldn't say nah t' one o' them cinn'mon roll things."
Skylar laughed. Now that she had a start, it was time to make some terms and negotiate a final agreement. Pulling writing implements from her satchel, she began...

Greetings friend,

I thank you for your generous offer, and wish to accept. However, I would need to know the trade routes you would like established. At this stage, the most I can hope to offer you is our surplus of small melee weapons, such as daggers and knives, and building supplies such as hinges, nails, locks and lock picks.

Alternatively, I can arrange payment of NSD as compensation for your assistance. My land may currently be without resources, but as money loses value and food and supplies becomes ever important, there tends to be an abundance of it.

Sincerely,
Skylar Grey.

Skylar folded the letter and handed it to Ana who was now licking her bowl clean.
"If you can deliver this for me, I think I should visit Guild Master Iraeis personally."

...Continued...

A woman of average height and strong build strode entered the Farwalker Guild and glanced around the hall with alert brown eyes. She swept her dark braid over her shoulder as her eyes came to rest on the man sitting behind the front desk.

"Excuse me," she said in a strange accent. "I am First Lady Skylar Grey of Organicia. I'm searching for Guild Master Iraeis."

The greying man behind the desk nodded, "Ah, Lady Grey, you've found me."

"Ana told me that you received my letter and said that I only need tell you what I require, and you would have it supplied?"

"Aye."

"Your generosity is deeply appreciated," she said sincerely. "In the current state my lands are in, I have need for arms, horses, cattle, food and seeds to replenish our supplies. Also a few trained guards who could provide an addition to my guard and military. What is it that you could afford me?"

OOC: Just a note. It seems like your new to RPing here so I'll give you some new comer advice. Don't role play or deiced what happens to another players character. It's very rude.
Not scolding or angry, just trying to help you out.

Also, some appropriate music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIIatRF7XpY

IC: The air in the front room was heavy with smell of burning incense. Despite it's small size and that it's small entrance lead to a back ally, the room was neat and well kept. It's furnishings are simple and elegant, hand crafted by Kaldaran Carpenters back home. On the far wall, there was a small shire set up to some foreign god, and the source of the incenses smell. The Guild Master remained seated behind the heavy wooden desk, the Kaldaran flag hung on the wall behind him.

"I'm surprised you found us with such ease. We have situated our selves to promote just the opposite. Never the less, you are the one who wrote this letter asking for aid, no?"
The man stood finally give the first lady a full look at the man. He stood six foot five, with broad shoulder and a barrel chest. Even at his age, his well defined muscles could be easy seen underneath his clothes, which appeared to be some where in between a military uniform and and a eastern monks robes. Iraeis moved to her with a deliberateness that would take most aback, though everyone here seem to move that way, as though they had some great purpose. "I am Malkan Iraeis of Clan Tyraion, House Vercuse, and Guild Master of the Farwalkers and Loreseekers guild here in this fine city. If would be willing to join me, we can discuss maters in a more private area of the complex."

President Karsen was looking out his window watching the blacksmiths make their preparations for Organica when he turned to leave he found the small girl trying to get past his guard. he walked over and told the guard to let her come with him. she handed him an envelope. as he read his smile grew bigger "this is great! you girl for bringing me this I am going to clean you up some. Maids! their is a young girl here that needs your attention!" about an hour latter she almost looks like a different girl but that same smile is there. here I want you to take this back to the one who sent you.

From the desk of Lord President Damien Karsen

[OOC: Sorry about that! You're right, I'm very new. I'm also super sorry for being absent so long!]

'Yes, it was I who wrote to you seeking aid. I wouldn't say it was easy to find you, but I managed."

Skylar forced herself not to take a step back as the Guild Master approached her. He was intimidating, but not exactly threatening towards her.

"Certainly, I will join with you," she answered. "Thank you."
