But about as effective a defense weapon as a suicide bomb vest.

It's not effective at all, because the KKK are a bunch of physical persons which are subject to law. Russia as a State has the right to protect its interests just like any other in the world.
I see let Putin do whatever he wants with that God-forsaken land that is Ukraine. The European economy has already suffered billions of damages because of the sanctions proposed by the US (they just want to redirect the european capitals towards the US themselves) and subscribed by those idiots that are the current political leaders of the EU, oblivious to the consequences.

I heard appeasement went well with Germany in the '30s.

"Thank God, I think no one is thinking of unleashing a large-scale conflict with Russia. I want to remind you that Russia is one of the leading nuclear powers."
Russia threatens nuclear war against all NATO members
However, while Ukraine's prime minister, Arseny Yatseniuk said on Friday that Ukraine would now seek to join Nato, sources within the organisation said that it would be unlikely happen. Any such move would oblige Nato to come to Ukraine's immediate defence against Russia.
A Nato source said: "Ukraine is not an ally. Nato may respect Ukraine's decision if it seeks membership but the Alliance is not going to accelerate in that direction."

Listen you sheep, if Ukraine joins NATO or the EU they would be putting missles on Russia doorstep look at NATO missles they are in Turkey, Francde Germany and some former Soviet nations, I would the US react if they put missiles in Cuba, or Mexico they'll be outrage it'll be a missle crisis again that happened in the early 60s.
We haven't been interested in intimidating Russia with missiles since Ronnie Ray-gun. Give up the Cold War mentality.

Pretty sure that US overseas expansion has been limited in the post-USSR era. Mind naming a few of these US bases supposedly surrounding Russia and China? You think we give a shit about China? Fuck no. We're too economically intertwined to care to start military dick-waving contests. Russian apologists are just upset that these former SSRs and members of the Warsaw Pact now view their former occupiers with no small amount of suspicion.

Really? NATO expansion in Eastern Europe and forward missile deployments aren't meant to contain and intimidate Russia? I think both sides need to evaluate what year it is, cuz it's not 1960.

Countries are also subject to law, such as "don't violate another country's territorial sovereignty".

Putin does not have the right to protect it's "interests" if those interests violate international law and involve oppressing the Ukrainian people.
