Hotel Aricon - Canagan, Wragnar.
0450 Hours
2323, 1160

The CEO of Aerospace Unlimited, Aron Rogers, the Moarfallian Conglomerate Council representative of foreign affairs, Jason Herm, and 2 security details walked into room 457A of the largest hotel in Wragnar. Pleasantries were exchanged before the officials sat down at a meeting table with the Wragnarians. As soon as they sat down, both men lost all expression and had cold, mechanical stares. The Wragnarians looked at the 2 men then to the 2 security details. "This is merely a business deal, why would you require security?"

Jason Herm spoke, "For our protection, we are both wealthy men who are very important. It would be both unwise and counter-productive. Now, here is the version of the contract we were given that we have for you."

-Wragnar sets up a mining facility on the moon with assistance from the MSC and AU.

-New Babylon's official trade port is the established trade route from space and/or orbit to and from Wragnar, and will be the sole used trade route.

-Protection for said trade route as well as the faucility will be provided by the MSC and AU.

-For payment, Moarfall receives 30% of all of profits as well as discounts on resources mined on the colony, while AU receives 20% of all profits. All Companies in the Corporate Conglomerate of Atlas-Corporation will receive the same discounts.

-Wragnar will have to provide transportation of all persons and materials to and from the colony.

-Termination of this contract will result in immediate seizure of all funds, resources, components, and technologies related to the contract at termination date and a bill of no less than 1.75 trillion Kredits due in no longer than one year from termination.

-Terms are indefinite and enforced by the full power of the Corporate Conglomerate and the United Space Command.

Jason Herm continued; "Do you agree?"

Before the Wragnarians could answer, Aron Rogers' watch began to ring. "Excuse me" he said as he stood up and passed by one of the security guards.

"Yes, we're finishing up the deal now. I have not gotten a response. Yes, according to plan. Bring the car around front." He ended the call and walked back to the table. "Now, where were we?"

AU Intervention - Enkon Orbit
0453 Hours
234, 1414

//Bring the car around front//

"That's our cue, boys." said the captain.

"Bring us to the predetermined coordinates."

The "small" modified Fujik-class frigate designed for stealth. It was a special AU only design. It was one of 21 produced and in use currently. They were very secretive ships, not even the other ships knew of their existence. They were used for all of the Conglomerate's Special Forces needs. Soon the AU Intervention hovered over a small nation in Northern Enkon.

Onza Sends Aid To New Santiago

Postby Onza » Thu Aug 28, 2014 4:20 am

KHAJIL, ONZA - The United Democratic Emirates will send approximately $1.7 billion in humanitarian aid to New Santiago, along with several units of leftover bricks and cement, and medical supplies including syringes, antibiotics, medical braces, anesthesia, bandages, gauze, and other medications, announced the International Affairs Ministry today.

The various operating medical centers across New Santiago will be the first to receive the medical supplies, while the government itself will receive the money. The construction materials are set to be delivered a later date to an undecided construction company in New Santiago.

"The Emirates is acting in a manner that it would want to be treated itself if a similar tragedy occurred," said International Affairs Minister Taj Hani speaking on the unfortunate occurrence in the mostly-Spanish nation. After ending its slavery policies, Santiago has made a turn in a much more progressive direction, with a strong system of central education and healthcare existing in the nation.

It is currently unclear what exactly is the extent of the destruction, as reported figures seem to be understated or overstated, though the International Ministry noted the need to act quickly, even in the face of exaggerated or underdeveloped death tolls/monetary loss due to property destruction.

USS officially dissolves alliance with the PROK
Midgar,46566-The USS has officially dissolved the alliance between the USS and the nation of Otundi Kogo. The reason the alliance is dissolved is that it's believed that the people's republic is supporting the communist uprising that overthrew the Kingdom of Citopia and threaten the Midgari population within the country. While not at war relations seem icy due to the widespread belief within the government of support of Otundi Kogo, as the government has supported communist cells in other countries before. At this time the the USS will officially stop supporting the communist forces in the Staedetler conflict. While supporting the communist the USS did nothing to help the communist forces other then offering political recognition.

Forces leave earth territory head towards New Citopia
Serton, earth empire- The USS forces have resupplied and began to move towards the northern islands of New Citopia. At this time the communist forces seem to be trying to take full control of the mainland. The USS is willing to allow all supporters of the former monarchy or the Free Countropian government to live within it's new Grand Duchy. At this time some protest by the Communist party of the USS have been demonstrating in support of the communist forces and the 180 in Foreign affairs. In other news the former monarchical parties are free to operate within the USS again, without any restrictions. Before the Monarchical parties were banned because of the minor civil war happened. The remaining few rebels still living in 46566 have officially surrendered to the government and have been pardoned by the president.

Aid Sent to New Santiago
Midgar,46566- The USS has sent supply to the New Santiago people. The USS has raised around 1 Billion euros. The USS has asked for permission to send aid workers to help rebuild some of the more damaged areas of New Santiago. The USS will try to work with the United Coalition in distributing the aid to help the New Santiago people. The only problem with supplying New Santiago is the recent upheaval within Oneiropol. The USS forces could potentially be caught in the middle if the civil war spreads.

An Inside Look at a Largely Silent Disease

Postby Onza » Thu Aug 28, 2014 3:50 pm

Image

The following is a feature article published in the Onza Central News Network-owned magazine, "Life."

It is one of the key images associated with living in a truly Utopian society - a room full of people. It's a facetious image in that by simply glancing at it, it is unlikely that you would be able to ascertain the message that it is trying to convey. After all, people are people, and so long as your eyes don't detect anything off about them, you probably just look over them as another person, one out of thousands that you've already seen in your lifetime. However, it is this very idea - one that is inevitably omnipresent in our lives - that is the primary contributing factor to the global decline of world health. The fact that human beings require visual evidence that something is effecting somebody's life in order for them to act is, perhaps, the flagship reason why a deadly disease is on the rise around the world. Think of commercials on television where sad music is played to a slideshow of grotesque images of starving children. These are effective means of raising awareness because people need to see it to even begin to understand or fathom the extent of the suffering that poverty brings to these unfortunate individuals. And while this is, indeed, a highly effective means of putting the spotlight on serious issues that need to be seen in order to warrant a charitable donation, it is yet another indicative factor of the theory that human beings literally need to see something in order to believe it.

We can talk about starving children all day long, and the conversation will never lead any of us towards donating to such an important cause because of the reason that the image we develop in our heads is a lot less painful than the reality of the situation. Truly, unless you are a starving child yourself, no amount of conversation alone would be enough to even begin to counter a problem. Talking about something simply isn't enough, and this, accompanied by the fact that human beings must see it to do something about it, is the reason why this disease is running rampant.

The Human immunodeficiency virus infection/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is currently the most common disease on Enkon. Even things such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes don't beat the total number of people in the New Coalition of Nations that are currently living with AIDS. However, receives less public funding and far less in private donations than any of the above three alone. It's not that donating to these other diseases is wrong - as a matter of fact, if you do donate to them, then by all means, please continue doing so - but it is despicable that AIDS is severely underfunded, perhaps as a result. The problem is that things like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are all viewed as oftentimes non-preventable, brutal diseases that tarnish the lives of whoever may be unfortunate enough to contract them from the initial discovery all the way through the prognosis up until death. While this is easy to believe for these diseases, as people can discuss these openly without feeling shame or even face discrimination, it is entirely different for AIDS.

HIV is a mute disease, thanks to this. Those who have it are the only ones that hear its deadly voice. If you go into the grocery store, and you see an older man injecting himself with an insulin needle, or perhaps you notice an older lady who has lost all of her hair thanks to cancer treatments, your heart instantly breaks in sympathy - as it should. However, imagine going into the store and seeing a young man with AIDS. Sure, you know its bad, and you feel bad for him, but the level of sympathy just does not compare to the sympathy that you felt for the earlier two examples. After all, he looks fine! He looks just like a normal person - in fact, you likely wouldn't have been able to identify that he had the disease until you overheard him mentioning something about it to somebody else. The fact is, you don't feel the same level of sympathy for this young man, because our brains are hardwired from the minute we begin to absorb the lessons that are fed to us as children to connote the concept of AIDS with homosexuality, unprotected sex, or careless choices.
Image
Protests from last year criticizing the lack of AIDS funding

Imagine if you had to reprimand the individual who was the first to contract cancer, of the individual who was the first to contract AIDS. Although neither diseases are artificial, you'd likely choose the one with AIDS, and it's, perhaps, for a solid reason. One could argue that cancer is non-communicable, and thus, punishing the first person for contracting it would be pointless. After all, there is no way one could prevent the cancer. While this is a valid point, it neglects to mention taking the same perspective for the AIDS case, because it is very likely that in your mind, the person with AIDS would be more likely to have contracted the disease through a preventable means than the former.
"...AIDS is a silent
disease to those
whose ears aren't
forced to listen."

The flaw with this is what many of you will likely accuse me of having done with this essay by the end of it - the part that is wrong is that you, by making the choice of AIDS in the previous example with that bit of knowledge in your mind would be labeling one disease as "better," for a lack of better words, or perhaps even "worse than the other." You see, it is not true that we should tell cancer patients that they don't have it as bad as somebody with another disease, but it is true that not all diseases are equal, and some are on a much larger scale than the others.

As a global society, we have attached responsibility and shame to the concept of HIV, and in turn have attached respectability and glamour to those who have contracted and endured cancer. In reality, both should be treated as the latter, but AIDS is a silent disease to those whose ears aren't forced to listen. To those who have never had AIDS and likely never will, it is just a disease that they are thankful that they don't have to live with. Some would even go as far to congratulate themselves for not making decisions that they believe would lead to AIDS. However, the flaw is that AIDS is not a homosexual disease, and it is also not a disease that is only spread sexually. While it is spread predominantly through sexual contact, the fact is that certain communities and races are marginalized, which through years of social study has been marked as a large contributing factor to the spread of the disease amongst the poor youth, makes it effectively unfair for any person not in the circumstances of those most likely to be affected by the disease to liken it up to being that the poor person made the bad choice of not using contraceptives while they did. In reality, sexual encounters are entirely different for both groups.

Countless studies in the United Democratic Emirates have pointed to the fact that people are very unlikely to date outside of their own social class. As a matter of fact, it was indicated in a study at the University of Akhmis that homosexual and interracial relations were nearly 14 times more likely to occur than inter-economic relationships. This makes it a problem when higher class individuals - the largest contributing group in the world to charities - complains that AIDS is a preventable disease. These individuals have almost always only had sexual encounters with other individuals within their own social class, and the result is that they are far less likely to even be exposed to the disease to begin with, which is just further indication that it is much more than just "the poor guy made the bad choice and I, the wealthy guy, was smart."

Pictured Above: Umar Haytham

Now that we've talked about some of the myths about the disease, as well as analyzed what is likely the ultimate, underlying reason why AIDS is so invisible in the spectrum of modern medicine, it is time that we introduce an individual living with AIDS, Umar Haytham, whose name has been changed to protect his security and family. Umar Haytham looks just like a typical Onzaian dressed casually from the picture, but what cannot be seen is the terrible thing that he lives with that is hidden beneath his skin. Umar had been in a faithful relationship with another man for nearly a year when they eventually trusted each other enough to have sex. What was unknown to himself and to his partner was that his partner had been living with AIDS since birth, and Haytham contracted the disease. His partner's mother had the disease, but he wasn't born in a hospitalized setting. Rather, he was born at home to a midwife, and lived his life rather normally, enrolling in school and succeeding up until when he met Haytham. It was only after Haytham had begun displaying symptoms that it was realized what had happened.

The unfortunate reality to a case like this is that these circumstances are not peculiar. Many poorer families rely upon another family member to serve as a midwife rather than making a trip to hospital. Since the institution of a new government, all healthcare has been free in the Emirates, but this hasn't broken the culture of some families to only go to the hospital in the case of a genuine emergency. It is estimated that some 7 million people worldwide have AIDS and aren't even aware of it, because there are no consistent symptoms, and oftentimes, it takes somebody getting deathly ill from something typically harmless to figure out that they've been infected all along.

"I don't resent him for not knowing that he had HIV. To be honest, I don't even regret our relationship, I just can't help but resent the fact that this subconscious system results in people like myself falling prey to such a life-changing disease," said Umar on his former relationship. "I'm telling my story because I want people to learn from it, I want them to take the knowledge that you never know what your circumstances are, and to get regularly screened for HIV and AIDS, because you just never know until it's too late."

Unfortunately, it is very true that the second largest cause of death caused by HIV (next to diseases that the weakened immune system cannot handle) is that many people will ignore their symptoms until they ultimately die. Oftentimes, with the social stigma against homosexual relationships or sex out of wedlock, many people are in denial of their own symptoms out of fear of the backlash. It isn't a disease that you can admit you have and expect sympathy for - the silence of the disease has contributed to growing myths about how it began, which leads to hatred and criticism more times than it does sympathy.

"My biggest nightmare is the thought of my friends or the few that have remained true to me having to endure a similar struggle. Nobody deserves the amount of hatred and stigma that is attached to this disease. Nobody," concluded Haytham, who was overwhelmed with emotion by the end of the interview.

We can all admit that we see the injustice that exists against those who contract HIV/AIDS, but not as many people are willing to work to counter this injustice, as evidenced by the severe lack of public funding and charitable donations that HIV research receives. HIV may not kill the most people worldwide, but it is the worst epidemic in modern history, and if it continues down the course that it is currently on, then it will eventually be a part of everyday life as a silent killer. The marginalization and discrimination that exists against those with sexually transmitted diseases must end if progress towards modern medicine on Planet Enkon is to continue, and in order for this to happen, the major nations of the world with notable HIV populations, including, but not limited to the United Democratic Emirates, The United Federation of Ajerrin, the United Coalition, Otundi Kogo, The United Technocratic Realms, and 46566 must begin to allocate a tremendously higher amount of money towards disease research than what is currently being allocated. It's an unfortunate truth that money is a very powerful driving force in modern medicine, and without, disease research will grind to a halt.

Umar Haytham continues to receive treatment from a largely-anonymous HIV treatment center in an undisclosed hospital in Khasekhemre, where the largest team of HIV/AIDS researchers in the world exists. The United Democratic Emirates has the largest population of people living with HIV in its borders, and Haytham hopes that one day he will be able to reveal his true identity and spearhead the campaign for change and progress to cast light on the invisible disease.

IAS Legate Magnus, High Orbit Over Enkon
24 hours after the ultimatum
It had been a tense 24 hours; despite his confidence and bluster Vogens had been concerned that Motako may have something up her sleeve that could actually allow her to follow through on her threat - but the fact that she had been assimilated with a machine (something the Reich had never accomplished) did not means she had the means to destroy an entire fleet in orbit. Even so he had taken precautions, sending out scouting probes, thoroughly scanning the planet and drawing his fleet into a strict control zone formation; each ship had also been on completely lockdown ever since the ultimatum had been made, no transport craft were allowed to travel between them and all bulkheads were sealed and required an officer to open them. He would not let it be said that he had allowed his entire fleet to be destroyed purely through a lack of proper caution and respect for the enemy.

"Well, that cyborg bitch has had her time and this destruction she promised has yet to occur. Notify the rest of the fleet to get into orbital bombardment formation and prepare for saturation bombing." They had an ultimatum of their own to follow through on after all; he would not repeat Port Esper - oh certainly Imperial forces had captured it eventually, but the city had been so badly damaged that it was practically useless and the cost in manpower and materiel had been horrendous. No, better to wipe the rebels off the face of the planet one city at a time from orbit, than try and take territory that would be rendered useless in the taking anyway.

The fleet had finished moving into bombardment positions, a lower orbit almost breaking atmo; ideal firing conditions. Vogens smiled softly, almost gleefully and rubbed his hands together, and that was when his ship shuddered violently. Three dreadnoughts around the Magnus had opened fire on it with everything they had and the badly damaged command carrier was struggling to maintain its shields; there was a creaking of metal as warning light after warning light flickered into life on the consoles all around the command deck. External airlocks had been opened through emergency protocols which should have required his authorisation, the shields were simply shutting themselves down and the deuterium core was in emergency meltdown.

"What the hell is happening? Imnitz, why are those dreadnoughts firing on us?" Vogens was yelling, but more out of desperation now than rage or bravado; Imnitz looked back at him as pale as death and saluted. The communications consoles were on fire with messages from other ships in the fleet requesting orders and wanting to know what was going on - no-one seemed to know. Then his Chief Technical Officer stood and looked at Vogens with the cool and calm manner of a man who had accepted the inevitability of his own death.

"Our fleet's networks and systems have been compromised. It would seem that the rebels have somehow accessed our encrypted networks and activated emergency failsafes allowing them to self destruction our ships in some cases, while taking control of others. In our case, both appear to have occurred, since our shields have shut down automatically and our weapons systems are firing on automatic from the targeting AI." Vogens looked at the man open mouthed, entirely uncertain of what to make of what he was being told. "We... I should have seen it coming sir. They used the exact same software and hardware we use, except they - illegally might I add - upgraded and migrated theirs onto a new format. Against anyone else this kind of attack might have a 5-10% success rate, what with them having to hack into foreign systems, but what they're doing here is like hacking into their old computer because they forgot their password."

"Illegal! Illegal? I don't give a shit if what they did was or is illegal, how do we stop this? How do we defend ourselves?" Vogens was still stuck in the military and material way of looking at the situation; to his reasoning their must be some way, some risky strategy they could employ to turn the situation around, but even as he scoured his brain for a workable plan he realised what Imnitz and the CTO already knew, it was over.

"We don't. If we had more time to... if we had more time then maybe we could have worked out a way to counter the attack, but the entire fleet is deployed in a single concentration and every ship is simultaneously self destructing and shooting at every other ship. We don't have time, and our systems are failing around us so even if we did we would lack the required equip -" The CTO never had a chance to finish his sentence because in that moment the Legate Magnus shuddered into thousands of splintered pieces as the chain reaction from the deuterium core overload destroyed it. Chunks of radioactive debris showered down into Enkon's atmosphere, many burning up before making impact, but some of the large pieces striking the planet's surface with devastating effect.

Some entire ships went thundering down into the atmosphere below while others burst apart like over inflated glass balloons.

Nova Arkades, The Commonwealth
"It worked... I don't beli- it actually worked! Madam President how does it feel? What was it like cracking those systems?" Zhukov could hardly contain himself; this was the power of a fully networked cybernetic organism fully realised. His life's work accomplished with a healthy dose of every dream he'd ever had in the field of science. He hurried around checking connections and gently disconnected Motako from the 'chair' which allowed her to spread her will in absolute fashion throughout the network. Four other similar chairs rested nearby, upon each a person with different levels of cybernetic augmentation sat comatose; one was badly burnt and had smoke rising from their cooked flesh.

"It was challenging; their security protocols were very advanced, even if I was familiar with how they worked, they were difficult to crack and it took everything I had not to become overwhelm by the data counter. How did that one die?" She motioned to the cooked man who lay lifelessly in the nearby chair.

"He was one of the ones whose mind was to shield yours from the counterattacks. Unfortunately they were too much for him to handle and his cybernetics overloaded causing him to combust. An unforeseen outcome and unfortunate but a learning experience all in all." Replied Zhukov in an almost detached manner as he lovingly detached Motako and saw to the careful maintenance of her cybernetic body. The President looked over to see her secretary standing nearby waiting for instructions.

"Have that man awarded a commendation befitting his sacrifice and achievement, and give his family his full pension plus fifty percent. He's just given his life to win us our independence."

Second Emergency Meeting: Capella, Governor Assembly
After the issue of the uprisings in New-Citopia and Free Countropia did not have any satisfactory results, the Governors of the GDC meet once again to make a new course of action to guarantee a positive outcome.
Manio Clark- Henessi- Nationalist Party: “Gentlemen, may I respectfully say ‘I told you so’. This Salgado fellow never even bothered to respond to a decree for helping them to stabilize their goals for a nation. I think we need to do a 180 on this matter and support the USS in its efforts to kick out these radical extremists. This massage was private and wasn’t released to the world, only we know about it.”
Roan Fel- Nal Kaaga- Labor Party: “This time I agree with you, the events unfolding in the region are horrific. These are not intelligent free men nor are they any good. I supported their efforts but I believe I misjudged the situation. So what do we do?”
Francia Setti- Serton- Liberal Democrats: “We attack. We need to immediately quarantine the cities that have fallen to the communists. If we strike fast enough now, we can make up for lost time.”
The Chancellor intervenes, “We should mobilize immediately. I thought wrongly and made the wrong choice. We will intervene and liberate these people from this new regime. I vote in favor of declaring war. Who else?”
All but two governors vote in favor of war. The leaders agree to assemble troops and declare war at the last possible moment.

Operation Switchblade Part 2

[SOLISIAN ARMED FORCES CONFIDENTIAL REPORT]

Somewhere in Staedetler - After landing in a disclosed airfield in Staedetler, JSOC Group 13 dismounts the plane and is immediately greeted by JSOC Group 7. After the greetings, Group 7 members lead the Group 13 team to a building that held the air control tower. Upon entering the building, Colonel Karl Braun was waiting. Colonel Karl Braun, is second in command of the Staedetlerian Loyalist faction & is also the eyes & ears for the Solisians. Braun then welcomes the Group 13 boys and offers them a seat. The Colonel then gets up and gives the Group 13 boys a situational report.

Colonel Karl Braun: "Our target, Thomas Reichart spends most of his days in the capital building. He has given me all responsibilites of his military forces, while he has upheld all political & government responsibilities ever since we took the capital. It will be good news to hear that the capital premise will not be as heavily defended as your leaders projected. Recently, Reichart ordered me to spread out his forces throughout the city and start regular patrols from inside to outside the city. So the capital premise won't be as heavily guarded. Alright so here's the plan. You boys will be dressed in loyalist attire and will be carrying loyalist gear. Thankfully, our gear mainly comes from you guys so we wouldn't need to acquire matching gear. I will take you boys myself to the capital through helicopter. I will make sure that my personal security detail who is loyal to me, will be responsible for the security of the capital that night. We will then capture Reichart himself, and fly him to the MSN 3rd Fleet just outside Staedetler."

Solisian Armed Force Intelligence Service Confirms Otundi Kogo Funding of Citiopian-Countropian Communist

Valencia del Sol - When the Solisian Armed Force Intelligence Service (SAFIS) heard rumors of Otundi Kogo funding the Citiopian-Countropian Communist Factions, they resurrected files they acquired from Operation Achilles. After hours of searching for files that related to the communist uprising in Countropia & Citiopia, SAFIS agents finally find it at a budget report. Although the budget figure donated to Citiopian-Countropian Communist Factions is disclosed, the funds have been well over the millions. Which could easily fund a military uprising from the communists.

Wolfens: Welcome or not?

In this new and sophisticated report we will talk to both wolfens and humans to find out why so many of Vvarden's people dislike the wolfens coming in from neighbouring Unibearia. Personally, I do find them a little odd but nothing too bad. I will be speaking with Kristoph and Annaig a Unibearian Wolfish couple and the head of the Human Vvardeni Republican Party, Edgardt Saef. Kristopher and Annaig are two Wolfen Unibearians who have decided to live in Vvarden despite all the hate shown by some people. Kristopher currently works as a carpenter and Annaig currently is training to be a nurse. Earlier we decided to ask them a couple of questions on how their life in Vvarden is.

Reporter – How are you treated in Vvarden?

Kristopher – We are finding some things hard such as the critisim by some people, the language and the climate, all of which are very different from our homeland, Yunaborrrya.

Annaig – But we are very confident that in time things will change and hopefully we can start a small family without too much trouble.
Reporter – Do you hate the Purists in general for their actions?

Kristopher – Annaig and I have forgiven them. It is their actions and their opinions, we hold no grudge against them. Even we remember what it was like to be human, to be scared of the unknown.

Annaig – We understand, even if we weren’t wolfen. All we can do is thank the government and President Derrik for allowing us rights here. That is why so many of us come.

Reporter – Do you think sometime there will be vicious, perhaps even violent clashes to occur on this issue in the future?

Kristopher – We are worried but we are happy, what more is there to be worried about?

Reporter – I am going to ask a personal question, do you mind?

Annaig – Not at all. Go ahead.

Reporter – Do you wish to become human again if you could?

Annaig – No not really, as we have progressed to our religious state. We worship the Wolf so it is only right to take his form.

Reporter – I see, thank you very much Kristopher and Annaig.

Kristopher – No, thank you.

Even though Kristopher and Annaig seemed friendly and confident, there are a great deal more troubles than they need at the moment. In a recent survey more than 30% of Vvardeni said they should exile any wolfens that cross our border with 80% of those saying they should be shot on sight.
Now over to the leader of the prominent political party, the Human Vvardeni Republican Party. The HVRP for short, have taken many seats in the electoral senate recently with up to 70% of the votes in some regions, most prominently the Eastern States such as Eris and Kanasisas, a particularly xenophobic area of Vvarden. Their policies include greater economic freedoms, closed trade ports and borders, no foreigners living in Vvarden and most seriously, the exile of wolfens from Vvarden. Their leader, Edgardt Saef, a strong political activist and politician discusses this issue.

Reporter – Thanks for having us here Edgardt, thanks for agreeing to be with us.

Edgardt – Thank you, for it is good to be among likeminded, Vvardeni friends.
Reporter – Now Edgardt, what is your opinion on the wolfens in this country and as one of your party supporters stated, “The Howling Pox”?

Edgardt – I have to say that I personally do not see them as people and since they had undergone a conversion of sorts to become something new, I see them as lesser beings. They have made their decision and I respect that by disallowing them to come here. They knew they were going to turn into mindless, slobbering monsters and so they should know that we are hostile to them.

Reporter – So you are against the transition?

Edgardt – Yes, in a very basic word. I am thoroughly against the changing of humans and their features. Even cosmetic changes like blue skin or yellow eyes is un-natural and if someone went through that process here, they would be exiled immediately. If they want to do it, do it in their country, same if they want to live here. Unibearia has plenty of space, go and find some room instead of coming here is what I’d say and will say to them when we win the Vvardeni National Election in a few months.

Reporter – What about humans who believe that wolfens should have rights?

Edgardt – I have tried my best to persuade President Derrik that it is a bad idea getting them to come here. I have begged for the alliance to be broken. But he is foolish, as soon they will attack and on that day they will be undermining us from the inside of our own country! To those in New Toola, I say to go ahead and go to war with them. It’s only a matter of time before they do. Genocide is the only way to have peace! Or even better, “Fixing” them so they will die out peacefully!

Reporter – Now onto your other policies such as the closing of ports and borders. Why do you support those methods?

Edgardt – A secluded Vvarden is a safe Vvarden. If we meddle in foreign affairs and trade with others, people will know about us and they will hunt us and kill us with the wolfens as their pack dogs! Even Caisians, who hide their faces all day long have to be avoided. Who knows what they are doing inside the masks? Are they communicating with their leaders in Caisus, revealing secretive information from our treasuries? Who knows what they would do if they entered our government system, imagine the horror of voting for a Caisian?! I say they should be chucked out, even the ambassador Daxtarian Oryn and his friend, the President.

Reporter – Thank you for talking with us, Edgardt Saef.

Edgardt – Not at all friend, not at all.

Edgardt’s statements worry me as the wolfens are just trying to live in this place and especially with comments made like that they should be “Hung from the Parliamentary Building” and “Fixed” it seems that they are not liked. Perhaps if this tension continues, it could escalate like wildfire. With this report and information hopefully some Vvardeni can be persuaded that wolfens are people too and need our help. Thank you. It has come from Dawn to Dusk. Goodnight.

*Top Secret Meeting* Serton Regional Military Headquarters
Field Marshal Laura Clark spent the last day and a half throwing together a draft of the Liberation of Countropia. She is a very beautiful women in appearance and in character, however, her looks are very deceiving. Only 10 years ago, she graduated at the top of her class at the Capella Army Academy. Many men underestimated her but now she sits on a seat in the GDC High Command and is perhaps one of the finest military leaders in the world. She assembles her subordinates and briefs them on her military plan...

“Our first and foremost objective is to capture the island of Oeston. The only communist activity on the island is at Encarton, a city of roughly 10,000 people. We will quickly relieve the local law enforcement that has successfully kept marshal law everywhere on the island other than Encarton. The Serton Home Army under the command of General Winston will liberate the island while the 10th Fleet provides air support and a complete blockade of Encarton and friendly communist cities.”
“At the same time, the Aeon 1st Corps and Aeon Air Legion 1 will make a steady advance toward New Citopia. The city has had riots for the last week and attempts to make contact with the local government and its efforts to hold back the riots has failed. The Aeon 1st Corps will be commanded by Brigade General Weiser.”
“The Aeon 3rd Corps and Aeon Air Legion 2 will advance through the open plains of Countropia and secure New Elton. We have no reports of any communist activity in that city or in the countryside. This will cut off New Citopian and Free Countropian communist forces. Brigade General Schlafen will command these forces.”
“The Aeon Supreme Fleet carrying the Aeon Expeditionary Force will set sail to Ailburg and capture the important port city. Ailburg is massively important because it is the only link to the Mare Titanus through a deep river. Ailburg has had no communist activity in the area and from their the Aeon Supreme Fleet will blockade the eastern coast of Free Countropia. The Aeon Expeditionary Force will advance to Duna and at Duna, will link up with hopefully the other two Aeon Corps. This will be commanded by no other than General Rund who is a superior tactician.”
“The Huttian Eastern Army and its air support will help the USS in its liberation of the North Citopian Isles. Within several days, they will be transported to strategic locations on the mainland. The Huttian National Fleet will also blockade the north of Free Countropia.”
“This is only the first phase, no military plan survives contact with the enemy. Questions?
The meeting room is silent, suddenly, “Let’s give them a whooping!” The moral of the military officers is extremely high.
“War will be declared as we enter their borders at 1200 today. Dismissed!”

Formal Declaration of War on the communist forces in New Citopia and Free Countropia
Despite our nations attempts to maintain peace in the region of Ex-Countopia, the belligerent attempts by communists who use terrorism in their goals to achieve a regime change is unacceptable and an aggression against the freedom of the people’s in the area. With our ally the USS we will liberate the people of Countropia and remove your violent ways from the streets of the cities you terrorize.

Central Control Room, Nova Arkades
All of their scanning and sensor arrays were showing up clear, no Imperial vessels had been seen or heard from since they had successfully launched their cyber attack on the main fleet. It was possible that Vogens had put all his eggs in one basket and that as a result the entirety of his forces had been destroyed, but Motako wasn't going to hold her breath; Vogens may have been a deeply overconfident stickler but he was no idiot and even though he was now dead she wasn't about to start underestimating him. They knew Vogens was dead of course, they had all witnessed the destruction of the Legate Magnus over the holo-feed and Commander Saito had his flotilla raking the debris field now, they had found Vogens' body in the wrecked Command Deck. The Commonwealth's naval forces, such as they were now, had started to return to orbit over Enkon. They had been hiding on the far side of Zues for a long time, but they couldn't remain there indefinitely and many of the crews were thoroughly relieved to be able to take some leave.

The war wasn't over of course; the Commonwealth had only defeated one of many fleets that the Reich had at its disposal, not only that but a significant number of Imperial troops remained holding Port Esper, though without orbital support it was only a matter of time before they were mopped up. The swift and decisive manner in which Vogen's fleet had apparently been destroyed also meant that it would take the Reich a long time to realise that their fleet had failed, and thus longer to send another fleet - if they did at all. Arcadia was not accustomed to losing like this and they could react in one of two ways; first they could recoil in horror and seek peace, or second they could take it as a grave affront to their power and send an even bigger force. Motako could not rely upon them choosing the first option, so she had already made preparations for the reconstruction and recycling of the debris left behind from the final death throes of the 4th Fleet into more new ships. What she needed now was an alliance which she could rely upon and trust with the technology of interstellar warfare; an alliance that could defend Enkon from future invasions by the Reich.

Motako had more than just the conclusion of the war and preparations for the next one to make though; she could no longer openly rule the Commonwealth in her condition, as a cybernetic organism she was not technically human and therefore human rights no longer applied, it was only because of the utter loyalty and devotion of her inner circle that she had remained in power for this long. A successor needed to be chosen and in time elections held - she would also need to officially die so that no questions would be asked as to her location or place within the new system. Better that she be the last Oberbefehlshaber and first President, than give rise to a string of future military dictators; dictatorship had been what the Commonwealth needed to grow from a mere colony into a fully fledged nation, and what it had needed to win its independence, but the truth was that post-independence it didn't need that anymore. It was time to step aside; of course she would still have some power over the fate of the nation, as an advisor to future Presidents and a silent guardian, protecting the Commonwealth from within the infinite sea of information.

The men and women gathered around her now all looked solemnly at her as she sat in the uplink chair which connected her directly to the network; they knew what was to come, they had discussed it both with and without Motako and all agreed that her judgement on her immediate successor was best. Madam-Generaloberst Kono Tanaka, Secretary of State for the War Office. She was the natural choice, a career officer of Low Arcadian origin who had worked her way up and dedicated the better part of her life to the Commonwealth; not only that but she had been Motako's protege and one of the first senior figures to openly call for the Commonwealth's independence. Her status as a national icon and hero was second only to that of Admiral Zhukarth, Commander Saito and Motako herself. Politically she had many allies within the government system too, Zutyensin, von Schenk, Bruener, Ullinger and Radzetsky all supported her while Paulus and Inge remained neutral on the matter, only Davidia really spoke out against her, but he was a small fry in the cabinet anyway.

"From this moment I am officially dead." Motako spoke sadly, her voice was filtered carefully to sound as human as possible and she gazed peacefully up into the slowly flickering lights of the complex array of machinery above her. "You all know what is to be done. Tanaka is the acting president now; announce my death and her succession and begin approaching the western allies. We need to build a better future."

Breaking News

President Motako Dies Aged 66
President Ai Motako, the last Oberbefehlshaber of the Arcadian Mandate and first President of the Commonwealth has died today following catastrophic organ failure; the President had been critically ill for some time and had not been seen out in public since the signing of the treaty with Ajerrin. While not unexpected Ai Motako's death has nonetheless come as a massive shock to billions of people within the Commonwealth many of whom have joined large public mourning marches.

The President's death comes mere hours after several Imperial ships crashed into Enkon's atmosphere causing devastation in numerous countries and throughout the Commonwealth itself, and event which apparently signaled the end of the present hostilities between the Commonwealth and Reich.

Kono Tanaka, former Secretary of State to the War Office has been appointed acting President pending a constitutional convention to determine the political future of the Commonwealth and its government. According to sources within the government it was Motako's wish that she be the last life long dictator to rule the nation.

We spoke with Professor Robert Casey from the University of Vierne about the President's death and what it means for the Commonwealth:

"Ai Motako was a remarkable woman, she founded our nation as a colony of the Arcadian Reich and then, after much conflict of conscience she established it as an independent nation. For many there was a question hanging in the air as to just how loyal to the cause of independence she truly was, and whether or not she could be trusted as a leader after betraying the Reich in such a manner; however her fierce dedication to the independence cause and to the growth of the Commonwealth's industries, foreign relations and status proved many people both here and abroad wrong as to her intent."

"It has been speculated by some that she declared independence only for the sake of her own vanity, however I have spoken with many people within her inner circle and her government and the conclusion seems to be unanimous; her reasons were purely selfless. It is true that the Mandate was slowly being strangled to death by the restrictions and taxation placed upon it by a distant Reich which feared its potential. They made a mistake when they sent large numbers of radicals and dissidents to Enkon to be part of the founding of the Mandate, because it created the groundwork for an extremely progressive and rapidly evolving state. Motako saw this, and realised that the Mandate was to become little more the a graveyard for the careers of those unwanted by the Reich; this realisation must have gone some way towards influencing her decisions too."

"Motako was, like it or not, the mother of the nation. She may have been a strict mother, unafraid of using the rod when she felt it necessary, but she was one with the best interest of the nation at heart. Her greatest concern was always with the people of the Commonwealth, a greatly unusual trait among Arcadians of her heritage. Ultimately the deterioration of her health must come down to the sheer weight of responsibility which lay upon her shoulders; first building a colony, then laying the foundations of a nation and finally winning its war of independence. She literally died so that the Commonwealth could exist and for that I believe we owe her a great deal."

Meanwhile in Nova Arkades the new President, Kono Tanaka has been sworn in in a formal ceremony and has pledged to hold elections as soon as the new democratic constitution has been ratified by the existing assembly.

Fire rains from the sky as the Imperial Fleet is destroyed in orbit
Fire rains from the sky, heralding in Motako's death and the beginning of Tanaka's presidency. Early reports from CAF forces on the ground at impact sites throughout the Commonwealth report that the objects which crashed into the planet with devastating force are in fact ships, or parts of ships that were part of the Arcadian 4th Fleet which had been holding a geostationary orbit over Commonwealth territory. Three of the ships seem to have come down near Tosano, resulting in incredible destruction and significant loss of life in that region.

It remains uncertain as to the cause of these crashes; the CAF has confirmed that the 4th Fleet, which had been facilitating the Arcadian war against the Commonwealth, has been destroyed; however no confirmation as to what caused the sudden and devastating destruction of the fleet has been given leaving many asking the question, just how did an entire space fleet end up destroyed? Sources within the CAF have said that the CIN is investigating the debris field to try and uncover the cause of the destruction, but that at this time they do not believe the cause to pose any significant threat to the Commonwealth itself.

The Commonwealth is not the only nation to be affected; reports from Caisus, Ajerrin, Unibearia and Onza seem to indicate that ships have also come down in their countries, though not all of these reports are confirmed as yet.

Fire from the skies PT.1

Postby Unibearia » Fri Aug 29, 2014 3:38 pm

It snows heavily as Yuri walks the streets of Rovstad. His guard accompanies him for his walk. He only wears his Red Royal coat made from the finest materials on Enkon. The streets are empty on this cold night. It’s a record -65 Degrees with wind chill but it does nothing to him. His thick Fur keeps him warm. The snow goes up to his ankles. He is barely able to see what’s infront of him, nor wear he is going.

“Looks like I will have to postpone the festival to spring. It’s a shame.” He says to Captain Felix.

“Indeed! I was looking forward to having my week off!” Felix chuckles

“I think we should head back, I am starting to feel the cold” Yuri adds.

As they make their way back to the Marble palace, Yuri notices a bright light coming from the clouds.

“What is that?” Yuri asks.

“What’s what?” Felix responds

“Look, in the clouds. A bright red light! What in the Gods is that?”

Felix examines the light. It gets closer and closer.

“It’s a SPACE SHIP!” He yells.

“Quite down! How can you be so sure?” Yuri says with an untasteful tone.

“I have studied in atmospheric re-entry science and those are re-entry effects!” Felix replies.

“Get me to the palace at once! We must plan our approach of this when it crashes. Make sure we have planes in the air and Soldiers ready to react at a moments notice!”

“As you wish my king”

To Train the Immortal: Part 2

Postby Moarfall » Fri Aug 29, 2014 7:23 pm

...the two bots fell to the ground 50 meters away. He knew the sound of the shots would attract the other squads and he would soon need a better weapon. He ran towards the disabled android bodies. He scooped up the 2 submachine guns the one bot carried, and the rifle and blade of the other. As he was picking up the shield, he heard the sounds of running automatons. He threw the shield at the sound, and dove for cover. As he dove the bot carrying the heavy machine gun rounded the corner, narrowly avoiding the shield as it ducked underneath. The other bot was not as lucky, it rounded the corner and decapitated it's head on the razor sharp shield embedded in the tree. The surviving bot began to spray the area that Connor landed and was travelling. The bullets pounded against the shielding of Connor's suit. He heard alarms going off in his helmet as his shields were drained. The bullets continued to bounce off his suit as he raised his rifle and destroyed the bot's head first and it's computing center.

He sighed as he lowered his rifle and stood up. The diagnostics his suit's AI were feeding him were telling him his suit was not penetrated and was working fine, and the shields would be up and at full charge in 5 seconds. Then he felt a sharp pain in his back in his spine, then nothing else below that as he crumpled. His AI screamed that he had sustained life dangering injuries as he passed out. A new squad of androids walked into the clearing and glanced at the dead bots and the dead Immortal. The sniper had severed it's spinal cord. The Rifleman and Machine Gunner walked up to the body and filled it with bullets. They began walking away from the clearing.

Gunfire filled the clearing and bullets the air. The squad dripped to the ground, dead. Connor dropped the guns as he stumbled forwards towards the shield. His AI fed more diagnostics on the Nanorobots repairing his body. It also noted that a stronger bone-playing may be necessary for the spine.

He looted the bodies and grabbed his shield as he jogged out of the clearing. Within the next 2 hours He had eliminated all 25 of the bots and was in the viewing room watching the other members of the team run the exercise.

In the emergency briefing room of the President

It was rather unusual for the President to be awoken in the middle of the night and called to the emergency briefing room. It had only happened one time before, as a drill, at that. It seemed to André Lamar as though this was yet another drill - one that was far more unprecedented than the last. However, the eerie tone that his top advisers took when whispering softly to one another didn't strike him as usual. Rather, it seemed absolutely outlandish and bizarre, and that was something that Lamar had never seen from them before.

The Onzaian Winter had recently begun, and nights such as this one carried harsh temperatures with them. Even with the most efficient insulation and heating, the bitter cold seemed to make its way through the doors and windows of the buildings and stab at their skin. Unknown was it to all of people in that room - the one group of individuals in the Emirates that would always know about everything before it happened - that something massive was upon them, quite literally.

As everyone assumed their seat in the conference room, all sensitive ears, including a lot of the security detail, exited the room. A brief moment passed where nothing but nervous looks were exchanged before Yasin Khaleel opened his mouth to speak. "Mr. President, we have an emergency situation on our hands." It almost sounded like a redundant statement, as the tone and mood of the transition from the warm sheets of his bed to the still-comfortable conference chair had made it clear that this was something of a serious nature. Khaleel looked around the table for a moment, and upon realizing nobody was going to fill the gap that he had opened by speaking, he took a deep breath, let out a sigh, and continued.
Image

"We are getting reports from our Desert Highway Patrol Rangers on the road south of Aqqak that a very large piece of a ship of apparently Promethian origins has crashed into the sands. The Rangers have cleared civilians from the area and are working to minimize the media spread of this knowledge."

The news was rather shocking to Lamar. Really, had Khaleel not mentioned that it appeared Promethian in origin, he would have began to pry into the possibility of this being aliens. Still, it wasn't quite clear to him: what did he mean when he said "Promethian?" The Emirates had just recently announced a treaty with the Commonwealth, so what could have happened? "Where exactly did it come from? How did it get there?" asked Lamar, almost as if to imply that the information was coming out too slowly to satisfy his craving for more.

"Initial analysis indicates that the technology is decades beyond anything here on Enkon, at least that's in mass production. An advanced reactor, complex shielding, life-preserving stasis chambers, computer systems that respond to the human fingerprint, and all sorts of marvelous technologies appear to have been present. However, the reactor is the only thing that appears to be intact. The rest may be salvageable, but it would certainly take time, reverse engineering, and funding."

"So it's not from the Commonwealth?" inquired Lamar, and although he didn't pursue the trail directly, the potential of salvaging this marvelous technology fascinated him and appealed to his craving for knowledge about the situation.

"No. We think it's from their previous overlords, the one's they were fighting for their independence from - the Reich," responded Khaleel. That was all he had on the case, and looked to Khalil Sayyid, the Chief of Staff, to fill in the vacancy.

"This isn't that serious of an issue, and I personally wouldn't recommend getting involved with it. It's a simple solution: we get a team down their to clean the remains up, and then we send it to the Commonwealth," said Sayyid.

"With all due respect to you and your august self, Mr. Sayyid," began Khaleel, "I have to express my doubts that the Commonwealth would even want the ship's remains. After all, it's just a reminder of a brutal war. They likely have an overabundance of this sort of scrap anyways, we should honestly keep it for ourselves," he went on.

Lamar was indifferent. Of course, the ship's remains would have to be removed from where they sat in the desert, but the question of to salvage or not to salvage was one that could endure a bit of patience. He felt the logic in Sayyid's statement - he valued allies internationally, after all. However, he did question of Khaleel had a point when he indicated that the Commonwealth likely wouldn't care if the Onzaians kept it, and that the potential technology that could be salvaged would be tremendously beneficial to many aspects of Onzaian life. With enough time and research, they Emirates could even begin to attempt to recreate similar ships based upon what they could learn from this one's remains.

"I need time to think about this. For the time being, get teams down there to clean that ship up and move it to a better location as soon as possible. Block off traffic to that area temporarily, save for emergency vehicles, and if the media asks, an unidentified object believed to be from beyond the stars crashed in the desert and cleanup is underway," said Lamar. With the minute he completed his sentence, everyone jumped out from their chairs, gather papers, and began to head in different directions to get to work. They certainly had it cut out for them.

Meanwhile, Khaleel remained at the table for a moment longer, exchanging a friendly smile with Lamar as he left the room. He was thinking hard on how he could convince the President that salvaging was, realistically, the best way to do things. He appreciated the cleverness in Lamar's media response, but his lack of foresight on this issue left him a little dazed and confused. It wasn't that he was opposed to Sayyid's way of thought - and he understood the bond between Sayyid and the President was much stronger than between himself and Lamar - but he felt it would be a lot more high-profile and a loss of potency to simply send it back to the Commonwealth.

He then realized that the answer to his solution didn't lie in convincing the President - it was vested in his ability to convince Sayyid to see it his way. Just then, he removed himself from the briefing room and arrived at his office, where he sat at his desk and began to make a list of things that could be made from the ship's remains.

Solisian Agriculture Expands to Xanai

Barcelona & Belleza, The Balaeric Islands, Enkon - With the recent dissolution of the former Xanian government, Don Juan Espino Plantations sees an opportunity on growing various agricultural products in Xanai. The country itself, has a great environment & weather for various agricultural products Don Juan Espino Plantations grow. The company is a Solisian-based agricultural multinational organization of plantations headquartered in Barcelona & Belleza, the Balaeric Islands. The organization is one of the largest producer of agriculture in the world. In addition, the organization grows such food items as sugar cane, olives, & coffee. The organization also grows material commodities such as cotton & rubber. Don Juan Espino Plantations plans to establish numerous rubber & coffee plantations in the country. The organization is projected to create thousands of jobs in Xanai and provide even more agricultural goods at a cheaper price compared to importing various agricultural goods from other nations. To this day, it is unknown that prestigious Solisian cigar brand, Guevara will expand their tobacco operations to Xanai. One problem Guevara is facing today is that the cigars they are rolling out are deemed too expensive for the average cigar hobbyist. Currently, Guevara is not willing to alter their world-renowned tobacco crops & fermentation process in Havana. Although Xanai offers good soil, weather, and cheaper-priced land compared to Solisian land, Guevara could expand their operations to Xanai, focused on growing & producing more appropriate priced cigars for the average tobacco user.

New Constitution Announced

Postby Onza » Sat Aug 30, 2014 7:14 am

AKHMIS, ONZA - The United Democratic Emirates officially has a new Constitution, announced President André Lamar in a press conference today. Officially called The Articles of Democracy and Indivisible Union, the document has satisfied a long line of individuals who have been calling for the composition of such a document for several months.

The Constitution includes 19 Articles, each with their own individual Sections containing guidelines for how the Federal Government shall operate.

"We all stand in support of this modern, progressive document that is capable of being changed and allows the Government to operate effectively without unnecessary bureaucracy," said a Party Statement released by both the Democratic Socialist Party and the Libertarian Green Party.

Several Liberals also came in support of the document, but others criticized it for its clause on the energy sector, which places it under the control of the Federal Government, effectively defeating the movement by some Liberals to privatize the sector.

"Frankly, I wish I could say I was appalled, but it's nothing unexpected. It's sad that the majority party would use the opportunity to craft a new Constitution to advance their own agendas," said National Assembly Representative Bilal Jabril (Lib - Sobek). Jabril went on to mention that he felt the process that was used to draft the Constitution was "unfair," as it consisted of a large committee of Representatives and Senators that he felt was not representative of the political standings of the nation as a whole.

However, even those who echo Jabril's sentiments maintain that it's not the end of the line for the battle.

"We may not be able to privatize the sector any longer, but we can at least work to make our government use the efficient energy alternatives of coal and oil," said a spokesperson for Jabril.

The Constitution was written, according to President Lamar, to serve as a general guideline for the way the Government should operate. It was also written with several of the longstanding laws that have been in effect for years in mind, which is why some factors such as trade, taxes, and rights were only touched upon lightly by the Constitution, as there is already existing extensive legislation on these topics. "It is not meant to be the only document that governs our nation," noted the President.

The Articles are now to make their way to the ballot box for a national referendum, where every citizen of Onza will have the opportunity to read and vote on the Constitution. While preliminary polling has indicated an overwhelming support for the document, it is possible that opinions will change as the Liberals embark on their quest to make some changes.

Protests calling for a Constitution in Akhmis also cleared up today, after the groups that had been present in one of the parks for weeks erupted into a chorus of cheers before disseminating. A date for the referendum has not yet been announced, but it is highly likely that it will take place within the next few days.

Gold Mining Begins Outside of Khorramabad

Postby Maledictoria » Sat Aug 30, 2014 7:36 am

KHORRAMABAD, MALEDICTORIA - Gold mining operations funded by the Government have begun outside of Khorramabad, where one large deposit of gold was discovered beneath the ground.

A puzzling observation was made by several individuals present at the grand opening of the mining site, though, as it was noticed by many that the equipment that appears to be slated to be used for mining that location is severely outdated. "Rest assured to all dissenters, our great nation is alive and prosperous, and the mining equipment in use has been inspected thoroughly and determined to be more than adequate to be used in this location," said His Highness Abu Ali II, responding to the questions about the efficiency of the mining equipment.

Some 850 miners have been hired to begin work on the site immediately, operating fourteen large mining vehicles and several other utility vehicles. The overall cost of the mining operation has not yet been announced, and may be complicated further by potential setbacks resulting from the use of the potentially-ineffective equipment being utilized.

Forces from Fort Suleymanshakhzi were mobilized, and some assigned to a new post of guarding the harsh mining zone in the desert. The workers are currently sleeping in tents inside the mining operation's chief office while barracks for the workers are being constructed.

"It's not a very pleasant job, but I need to do it to get by," noted one miner, who asked not to be identified. "I have to find a way to provide for my family, and if this is the way, then this is the way."

Interviews with the workers provided an unfortunately unpleasant insight into the growing lack of accountability on behalf of the Government, which was recently ranked by an Onzaian study to be the worst organization in to work for in Maledictoria based on pay, work quality, time off, and a plethora of other factors. As the unemployment rate reaches 11%, many, particularly those out of work, have begun to question the ability of the Maledictorian government to maintain an economy that is not dependent upon a single resource.

GDC Military Report
Image
Countropian Civilians line the streets cheering for GDC forces.
After the beginning of the invasion yesterday, the GDC Military was able to advance nearly 50 miles into the Countropian heartland before night fall. Soldiers were massively surprised when some of the first local villages began cheering as the military passed through them. This is a very welcomed surprise, showing that the uprising is only popular in the cities and not at all in the countryside. Hardly any rural locals have even see communists in the region and that has assured the GDC that the cities are the primary zones of communist influence.

UWK declares war on North Vvarden

Postby Unibearia » Sat Aug 30, 2014 9:48 am

The UWK formally declares war on North Vvarden. We have participated in the South's defence but the Southern Generals have no experience what so ever in modern warfare. So, in a desperate act to help the south, the UWK will invade the North and end this war of suffering.

Military disembarks at Military Base
Military base north east New Citopia- USS forces have begun deploying it's forces at the 46566 military base. Currently 2 divisions are defending the base currently and the unloading divisions bring the total divisions within New Citopia to 10.1 Division will head south to occupy Palmerio. While the communist factions are weaker in the north,Resistance is expected to increase as we head further south. Currently it seems that the communist forces are trying to hold on to the cities and are allowing freedom of movement to the USS forces. It seems that the factions at this point are working in separate cells within each are they control. This will make it harder to fully control any city taken from the communist factions. While unloading the remaining divisions 3 destroyers and 4 of the frigates have move south to attack any communist ships from the mainland. It seems the communist forces are building up it's forces in the south.

Repeals anti wolfish law
Midgar,46566-The United Socialist States has officially repealed the anti wolf law that it struck up earlier this year. The reason for such a change in policy is that the USS has applied and been accepted to The Southern Cooperation Group. The odds are that the country of Unibearia will be joining the said organization. This will hopefully ease some tensions between the 2 countries.Civil rights groups across the USS are happy that such a law was repealed and hopes that any intelligent life could live in peace together.

SAF Officials in Xanai

MSAF Officials in Xanai
Image

Image

New Avalon, Xanai, Enkon - Just this morning Secretary of Defense Roman Vega and a group of Mare Solis Air Force (MSAF) officials have arrived in Xanai. Their goal is to open a military opportunity where the MSAF would be allowed to establish an air base, here in Xanai. Establishing an air force base in Xanai would expand the SAF's capabilities, allowing the branch to take action if needed, in southern Enkon & central Enkon. Not only would the MSAF benefit from a base in Xanai, but it would also benefit the host country. The Mare Solis government has ambitions to sign a defense treaty with Xanai. Establishing a Solisian air base in the country would bring that goal even closer. In addition, if at any time Xanai requests military aid, the MSAF base in Xanai will be allowed to support the Xanish in any way. It is unknown what type of aircraft the MSAF plans to station in the Xanish. But with the role the MSAF wants to play, it is projected they will station bombers & fighter aircrafts within the country.

Postby Unibearia » Sat Aug 30, 2014 12:06 pm

The UWK military has now started to mobilise and make it's way to the North Vvardeni border. The 1st and 2nd Wolfish armies are making their way to the border. Most are fresh recruits but they have been training for years. We are confident that our troops will liberate and end the Vvardeni Civil war and bring peace and prosperity to the Vvardeni People!
