This is the new official home of the IDARN, a place where Australian Rules associations may post their league results and play for pride and glory in the Australian Rules Club Cup!

Post ARCC IV Rankings
Finals History
Rules and Regulations
OOC Thread

To enter your nation/association into the ARCC, you must first scorinate a league using Xkoranate, the post the results, along with some optional RP and submit your league champion + 1 other team that qualifies of sporting merit. Examples are league and playoff champions, playoff finalists, top two in a round robin or league and cup champions.

The box to enter your teams is a pre tag like so:

Sampleland Qualifiers (XYZ): Sample City Lions, Sampletown Bears

At the end of a cutoff period, the ARCC will be scorinated, the champion of such is automatically awarded a place in the ARCC as the nations top qualifier, they are obliged to enter if the assocation enters.

Hosting for the entire tournament is available to bidders, all that we ask is that you structure your bid similar to this.

Sampleland (XYZ) ARCC Host Bid

Nation information goes here.

Sample Stadium, Sample City, Sampleland (50,000 capacity)

Stadium information goes here.

Please note that hosting does not equal scorinating, that is always my job, it merelu means you ICly host the tournament. No home ground advantage is awarded, with tickets being sold 49/49/1 to the two visiting teams and officials/media/diplomats.

Next Cutoff Date (Interim): Saturday September 20th 2014 at 12:00PM UTC+!0 (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

OOC: Normally, I would be posting the One Week until cutoff warning, but instead, I have something else to announce.

ARFF Announcement

Due to the fact that only two associations have submitted forms to enter ARCC V, it has been pushed back in an interim fashion to October 11th. If 8 or more associations are counted as having sent forms in, the cutoff will be deemed to be the Saturday at least 7 days after the quota is reached, or October 11th, whichever comes first.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, but we deem it is for the better health of the league.

Results in Domestic Newswires

Ko-orenite Aussie Rules League - Season 1

Format
The regular season consists of 21 games, played in two sets of games: the interconferential (15) and the conferential (6) games. In the interconferential phase, all 16 teams play all other teams once. In the conferential phase (four conferences of four teams each), all teams play the other teams in their conference twice.

At the end of the 21 rounds, the tables are combined into one table. The teams are ranked by points, then point difference. Should another tiebreaker be necessary, that will be points scored.

The single best team from each separate conference will qualify for the playoffs. In addition, the four remaining best teams from the overall table will qualify for the playoffs as well.

In the playoffs, the team with the best record plays the team with the worst record (1 vs 8) and so on (2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5). In the second round, 1/8 plays 3/6 and 2/7 plays 4/5. The grand final is obviously a game between the second round winners.

Season Results
Aussie Rules is most popular on the four eastern islands: the four conferences can be seen as island leagues of themselves! All sixteen teams are located on the eastern islands, and there is one conference per island (so four in total). The first 15 rounds of the league consist of every team playing each team once, and Esashi-Karabe was the best team here. With 12 wins in 15 games, they get 48 points and they also record by far the best point difference, and they lead the league in both points scored and least points allowed. The Akimatsushima teams are doing well in general: not just the best interconferential team, but also the teams ranked third and fourth (Maeshima and Hitayama-Tanayama). Suinohiro-Sakahama, the remaining Akimatsushima team is ninth. In return, Harubayashishima is doing worse: the 13th, 15th and 16th overall teams are from this island/conference. Only Kuroseki is doing okay, and they are fifth overall. So far. But let's not forget that every conference/island is represented by at least one team: at the end, when all tables are combined into one, the best team from every single conference gets a playoff ticket at least. Based on the first 75% of the season, Akimatsushima could very well take more than 2 playoff tickets...

In the second phase of the season, with just six games left, it's all about the pride of the islands. Especially Akimatsushima looks interesting with four stacked teams. Harubayashishima is looking worse, and Fuyuhamashima and Natsuokashima look to be comprised mostly of midtable teams. Two teams stand out in the second phase: Esashi-Karabe, after securing 12 wins in 15 games, wins another 5 out of 6 in what looks like the best conference of them all! Tsuruhiro, interconferential runner-up, also gets five wins in Fuyuhamashima. Harubayashishima stands out because all four teams win exactly three games, and share the points.

The teams representing the conferences are Esashi-Karabe from Akimatsuhima, Tsuruhiro from Fuyuhamashima, Kuroseki in third overall, but the best from Harubayashishima, and Tategano, sixth overall, but in the playoffs as the best team from Natsuokashima. The wildcards go to Hitayama-Tanayama, Maeshima, Sumikagawa and Mishinogawa; teams from Akimatsushima (2), Fuyuhamashima and Natsuokashima. Only Harubayashishima is represented by just one team.

In the playoffs, the most likely teams win their games. Esashi-Karabe makes short work of Mishinogawa and has both more goals and more behinds. Tsuruhiro also wins, but almost lost to Sumikagawa: a late goal gave them the six extra points they needed to balance out Sumikagawa's 10 behinds. Hitayama-Tanayama won 48-13 to Tategano, and with 7 goals, they set the record for this round. Lastly, Maeshima, as 5th team overall, beats the 4th placed Kuroseki.

The semifinals has two surprises: Esashi-Karabe loses to Hitayama-Tanayama and Tsuruhiro also loses to Maeshima! In fact, H-T beats E-K 50-21! That's 8 goals for H-T in the Akimatsushima showdown! Maeshima keeps it much more civilised in a 34-28 win.

And that score also happens to be the final score in the grand final, between to surprising finalists. Maeshima is exactly one goal short of winning, with Hitayama-Tanayama winning the first ever Ko-orenite Aussie Rules trophy (5.4.34 to 4.4.28)!

ARFF Announcement

The ARFF is now being revived after over a month of inactivity. All previous entries are still valid. We apologise for our major delay, our board has been deadlocked in heated discussions over whether to continue the ARFF or let it fold.

(OOC: I wasn't sure whether I wanted to keep this going or not, and I decided I will)

The Cutoff Time for ARFF V is now Saturday the 15th November 2014 at 12:00PM UTC+11 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time)
