Well the USMC mounted a pair of its bigger brother the M58 MICLIC on the M1 ABV and the russians have a whole series of line charge throwing vehicles.

In the west dedicated vehicle mounting has historiclaly been avoided as the trailer mounted versions could be used by a whole host of tanks and AEVs.

Prise for most impressively mental system (although not actually a line charge thrower) is the Isrealli Carpet rocket system.

According to the Military-Civilian Relations office there are over 1000 currently in service with the Padnaki army and around 100 in service with the National Police and Interior Service.

Rather than using a trailing line charge to detonate mines along a narrow pathway, I can only assume that this is used to clear a circular area of mines, using the blast of an FAE charge to detonate them. Where referenced, it quite frequently says "can be launched all at once". I doubt that part, frankly.

Well, it's almost certainly a capability the system possesses, I doubt that it would be employed in that manner. Does this system have a guidance system? Looks like a pretty basic dumb fin-stabilised short-range rocket to me. I don't believe it would be especially useful to fire twenty very large (and probably relatively expensive) FAE devices at basically the same target, especially if it is for demining purposes.

Deploying them in a grid-like fashion to clear large sections of a minefield would be useful but like I said - I don't think it has that capability without aiming the launcher itself between rounds.

IIRC it is possible to design an MLRS (which this IS) to give rockets a bit of spread when they land.

Could I mount something about half sized on the rear of a turret?

Or something about 3x2 Cells in size.

If you're going for something you can mount to individual armoured vehicles (I'd advise against this - leave it with anti-mine engineers who know what they're doing) your best bet will be a conventional MICLIC.

I kind of want to design my own tank, but I feel like the Oplot-M that I'm already using is good enough. I also kind of want to use the Merkava IV instead of the Oplot-M but I don't feel like that would give me much of a real advantage over the Oplot-M either.

I feel like if I did design my own tank it would esentially be a Merkava though because my nation has similar defensive requirements to Israel and would have to fight in similar terrain in a defensive war, just spread out over a larger area.

The small size of Israel is one of the imperatives that make the existence of the Merkava possible.

I don't think it'd be as useful in a larger nation.

I really don't care for digital camo aesthetically speaking, on infantry combat uniforms it is okay but on large vehicles it just looks ugly. Plus I doubt that digital camo really helps to break up the form of a vehicle with the large straight edges which stand out as opposed to infantry where the pixels are small enough that they can actually help to break up your outline.
