A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Category:Human Rights
Strength:Significant
Proposed by: The Lanthanides
Description: The General Assembly,
BELIEVING that every person has the right to a nationality,
FURTHER believing that every child has the right to a name and a nationality from birth,
NOTING further that based on a study conducted by The Protectorate of The Lanthanides
, 41% of newborns are unregistered,
REALIZING that unregistered births potentially jeopardize basic human rights, by denying such newborns welfare and other governmental programs,

UNDERSTANDING the true meaning of "jus soli"citizenship, which is that a person receives the nationality of the country he is born in,
WELCOMING the efforts of all WA nations toward giving all people a nationality,
1. ENCOURAGES all member nations to pass laws granting "jus soli" citizenship to all persons born within their borders,
2. EXPRESSES ITS HOPE that such laws will decrease the number of unregistered births by simplifying the registration process,
3. FURTHER requests that all member nations supplement this resolution with legislation establishing a system of birth registration,
4. AFFIRMS the efforts of all nations who work towards giving everyone a nationality, and
5. INVITES all nations to take part in this initiative to give all people a nationality and register all births.
