About Lemmingtopias

Lemmingtopias is a large nation located in the South of the Atlantis continent. Weather and terrain varies from city to city, and there shall be games played in the heat of the South, the cold of the North, the wet of the East and the unforgiving winds in the West. Of course, most of the country is not so extreme in weather and the majority of games will be played in the mild midlands.

Founded some three-thousand years ago, Lemmingtopias is part-republic with a nominal theocratic element. The Sages have been Head-of-State for five-hundred years, though their position is now titular. Most Lemmingtopians follow the traditional faith based on the worship of nature. The population is around 675 million.

Lemmingtopias is a keen footballing nation, usually surviving till the last rounds of the tournament in previous Atlantis Football Cups. Other popular sports are cycling, athletics, gymnastics and swimming. The Cup Final will be held in the much celebrated Freedom City Football Stadium, located just south of the Capital City – set upon the sea itself.

About Jarrinan

Jarrinan is situated in the North of the Atlantis continent. The beautiful landscape and weather is enjoyed by many tourists as well as our 10.5 million citizens who are known for their compassion and niceness.

Although liberal, crime is totally unknown in Jarrinan, it is very safe here. Hobbies and sports are embraced in our nation, this includes football. Education is one of our main priorities, and talent has come from this. There are many young athletes who will want to get involved in the Football Cup.

The low wage gap in our nation will help to ensure all citizens have a fair chance to watch the football cup and take advantage of the opportunities that hosting it will bring. As a nation new to the Football cup, this will be a great experience for us.

Lemmingtopians across all the five realms were ecstatic today after their team pressed home a victory. Football talk has mainly been directed at the Papadopoulos brothers, both of which scored a goal bringing Lemmingtopias the victory home for Lemmingtopias. Nothing made the fans prouder than seeing their National Team play on Lemmingtopian turf.

True, there was a few yellow cards, most notably to defender Evaristus Stephanidis who tripped a player, but the game was mainly clean and fair and a packed stadium cheered on the teams.

The first goal, by Platon Papadopoulos, was headed in during a scramble in the 70th minute while the second, by Kyriakos Papadopoulos, was a late 88 minute goal kicked in from 30 yards and ending the prospect of a one-all draw.

[Atlantis of Vilita]

The opening match of the 4th Atlantis Football Cup ended in a draw for the debutant players from Atlantis of Vilita and the team from Ellani.

It was a learning experience for both sides who had never before squared off against each other, with both teams looking far from World Class in failing to create any serious goalscoring opportunities throughout the first half of the game.

The pace would improve in the second half of the match, however, neither team was able to score the goal that would make the difference in the match and both teams came away with a point.

For the Atlantis of Vilita squad, it was a chance to stretch the legs. The water in Atlantis of Vilita is obviously quite good and the players of Atlantis of Vilita are often graded on their experience first and foremost. The youngest player on the Atlantis of Vilita roster is Wrice of Atlantis who did start the match against Ellani but was ineffective up top. The oldest player on the roster, Issah of Atlantis, was the starting goalkeeper for the match with an effective estimated age of 106.

The host team knew that this was the most important match of their careers yet. Only a win would guarantee them entry to the Quarter-Finals. They'd studied their opponents last two games and drilled their strategy, but truth be told, they were not totally confident. As Kezzia got the game underway, the Lemmingtopians put in their all - but the first half dragged on somewhat and there was no real chance at goal for either team. They went off at Half-Time slightly nervous.

Something in the Half-Time Team Manager's speech must have sparked more resolve in the Green suited athletes, as they kicked the game back off and displayed a noticeable improvement in their game. There were several shots on the target, but it wasn't until the 80th minute that Stephanos Stavros, a striker from the Loma Athletic Football Club, scored the first and only goal of the game from just outside the box. He jumped up in ecstasy as he watched the ball roll elegantly between the goal posts and pushed his fist high in the air. His team mates picked him up and carried him upon their shoulders. His goal had qualified the team to go through to the Quarter-Finals.

A Crispian Granville goal was all that was needed for Gradea in their quarter final win aganist Kierosiana. The Jets had several good chances at goal but Kierosina's famed defense held.

Stand in captain because of Shayne Andrew's injury, Lucas Wyndham got things rolling with a shot which went straight over the crossbar. That was the only major chance for the Jets during the first half but Kierosiana had several good chances.

Young forward Steven Farndon came on and nearly scored with his volley. This was saved by Kierosiana' goalkeeper. Fellow youngster Crispian Granville took a pass from Thomas Hunt. He controlled the ball and fired past the goalkeeper in the 55th minute. The Jets progress to the next round.

In other news, Thomas Vergel's international career looks in doubt. The Sanford United skipper was omitted from the quarter final's squad and is reportdedly been told by manager Ben Toller that his left back spot was under fire from in form 18 year old Thomas Hunt.

The other Tom on the team, Tom Hull had a quite afternoon and was subbed off for Mitch DeForrest.
