I checked the OOC OP and there is no mention of a god of destruction anywhere, so can you elaborate?

Aye. Profectu ditched us and he had it, so we more or less turned the power of Destruction into a plot device.

Having a God show up later is a bit messy as well, by the way, so do you mind just pretending you were there all along?

Kilil (an old/inactive player) was the God of Destruction. He tried to eat the Sun and failed spectacularly, crashing to the surface of the world. We essentially split him into his component parts of Water and Destruction; so destruction is not really available to be a domain.

Anyway, here's an idea: I noticed that you guys have a god of ice and isolation going. Now, if my guy is going to be the god of fire, then surely he and the god of ice would be at sort of odds with one another. And with the god of ice having control over the domain of isolation, surely it isn't unlikely at all for him to be able to lock the god of fire away.

To tie things in even more with the established flow of events: what if he isolated the god of fire in the SUN? In other words, said god of destruction was not trying to eat the sun, but the god of fire, who is locked within the sun.

You can be fire, no problem with that.

The problem is the late entry. We'd basically have to pretend you were there, but simply kept to yourself and only came to help when we called, because the Gods were all born at the same time and a late-born God... Isn't that plausible.

I mean, I could always just do a Deus-Ex-Machina or something, but those are cheap.

If you read the first couple of pages, you'll note that Lycaeon (my character) decided to chew on Kilil's tail, thus sparking the whole 'eat the sun in revenge' incident.

And no, he doesn't have dominion over fire. Ignoring the fact that the sun (in reality) is a glowing ball of nuclear fission, it's a light source. "Provider of sustaining energies and bearer of light". Fire is generally considered to be separate. For example, look at the ancient Greek civilization. They had Helios (the original sun Titan? of their era) and Apollo (who took control at some later point in time after Kronos was defeated). Then there was also Hephaestus, god of the forge and fire.

Or, for a more direct equivalent, Vulcan. The Roman god of fire. And, of course, Apollo kept his job as the god of the sun.

Lycaeon rules over the Sun, the Moon, and the Hunt. A bit like Artemis and Apollo combined.

Controversial? Not necessarily. Fire is just as often associated with life and creation as it is with death and destruction. Vulcan/Hephaestus, for example. From fire came the greatest mechanical creations of the time.

And so on.
