It looks they are going for maximum "Ukrainian content".

Based on the youtube video, most of the major sub-components (Gun, fire control, engine, transmission, ERA, communication equipment, APS..) will be products of Ukraine's national industry that have been developed since the fall of the USSR. It probably isn't a huge exaggeration to say it is taking all the technical innovations that have gone into the Oplot-M and are applying them to a new-build vehicle.

It would be interesting to see if Ukraine's defense industry can pull it off. And while it is being pitched for an anticipated Indian Army requirement, given recent developments, it might also be of interest to the Ukrainian ground forces.

If one day Russia were to begin exporting Armata and Ukraine doesn't have a comparable new generation tank, the industry would likely collapse. Which would be a huge loss for Ukraine, there isn't much else "made in Ukraine" these days that has much appeal abroad sadly.

Three different main battle tanks are currently in service with the National Sandawe Defence Force. The most numerous in service is the Olifant Mk 1A, which makes up around half of the total Sandawe tank force. The M60A1 and the T-54B, both of which date to the First Sandawe Civil War of the 1970s, make up the other half of the Sandawe tank force. Numerous trade embargoes and financial difficulty has prevented the NSDF from purchasing a more modern main battle tank, or selecting one of the three tanks already in service to replace the other two. President Kezilahabi hopes that the new heavy vehicle factory in the capital will be able to produce a low-cost domestic tank in the near future which will those currently in service.
