Bureau of Foreign Affairs, Grey, Outreach.

Terry Orange sat in a messy office stuffed with rows of computers, files were strewn across desks and paperwork overflowed from IN-trays. An abandoned dispatch cart sat next to the entrance filled with priority packages.

He had managed to tilt his chair back a good thirty degrees which allowed him to rest his feet on top of his desk, he lifted a mug of hot coffee off of the manual of international protocol it had been using for a coaster and took a deep sip.

There was no one else in the office. Of the thirty staff members that had been assigned to the evening shift for the office of international-communications Terry was the only one to remain since the Second Speaker’s cut backs had been put into effect.

There were still plenty of people in the building though. He could hear the whir of shredders that had been a constant soundtrack to the department for the last three days. He could also hear two mid-level Greys arguing in the hallway about covering themselves over their stationary expenses.

There was just too much noise: Even after he had muted all of the computers in the room; before each one had buzzed whenever it had received an ‘important’ statement that had been released to the world by the various and numerous governments of the planet. Now all he had to put up with from them was the annoying flashing from the monitors and the hum of their fans. He couldn’t legally turn them off though.

Amongst all this sat the communiqués from the various ODECON and Conglomerate states, lying unread and un-reviewed amidst the debris of a dying department. So despite the proximity of Sarrowquand to several of the key states and its past relationships with involved nations it remained blissfully and officially ignorant of the unfolding events. Settled on the periphery, for now.

Increasingly, the word honour is thrown around with little justification or symbolic meaning. Increasingly, we see nations and alliances unworthy of the slightest piece of our interest calling upon us to follow their laws, to lead by their example. I ask the world this: why should we follow their laws, follow their example, when those in question are below honour?

In the past, the Oceanic Defence Coalition has, at best, been a plight upon the sovereignty of nations across the world; forcing their dishonourable hands into the business of others, bringing it upon themselves to berate and bully others into doing as they see fit, and ultimately violating the right of sovereign nations to so as they please. Who gave these fools, these wishful ‘world police’, the right do carry out these actions?

They claim to be acting to protect liberty as a whole, and yet they show absolutely no regard for the liberty of sovereign nations to carry out their own laws as they see fit. Nay, in this imperfect world, there is no place for those who seek to impart their vision of perfection through force. Something must be done about it. Something will be done about it. In having the dishonour to break the non-aggression pact that they held with the Conglomerate, the Oceanic Defence Coalition have gifted us with the opportunity to act on their misguided deeds – for this, I thank you sincerely.

Let this be known, members of the Coalition: if any vessel flying the flag of the Most Serene Republic or that of any of her allies is acted against in an aggressive manner, the response shall be meted out in turn. Just and honourable retribution is all that awaits the course of action you have foolishly chosen to undertake. The small percentage of Mian shipping that sails outside of the boundaries of Gholgothic regional waters will be protected at all times with a naval escort. Any force that moves against these shipping convoys will be dealt with in the same way that pirates are dealt with.

The Most Serene Republic will not back down, scum who would call themselves just and noble. It is war you seek; be careful what you wish for.

Yours in solidarity

Great Mangana Palace
Constantinopolis Secundus, New Chalcedon.

"They've done what?" The short woman sitting behind the desk had once been petite, although multiple pregnancies had thickened her waist significantly - these days, the figure of the Empress Eirena of New Chalcedon could best be described as 'matronly'.

"We received the communique from Bachmeier's office this morning, Majesty. Evan Bachmeier, as the President of the Coalition, has unilaterally dissolved the Non-Aggression Pact between the Coalition and the Conglomerate, and has anounced that 'police operations' will take place." Helena Draskovic, the Secretary to the Crown, sat heavily opposite her Empress. The previous few years had not been kind to the Secretary, and the day's news seemed to have aged her five years. Meanwhile, the Empress shifted from amazement to practicality. "How is it that we only find out about this now, Helena?" Draskovic's reply was prompt and to the point: "A communications error, Majesty. It won't be repeated - at least not by the same people, I can promise that much with absolute certainty."

"Good. Now, to this - what are we supposed to do? I can just imagine the regional reaction when we, as a new arrival to the region, declare war on another regional member - " Draskovic interrupted at this point. "With respect, Eirena, we may not need to. Whilst Section 3, Article III compels us to treat ODECON's enemies as our own, we have the right to convene the Regulatory Congress to overturn President Bachmeier's declaration. I would suggest that we do so, and, until the RC holds its vote, decline to declare war against Saurea, as a gesture of good faith to a neighbour."

"Can we do that, Helena?" The older woman looked knowingly at her leader. "We can unless someone says we can't, Eirena. This is international politics, after all. The only rules that apply are those that can be enforced."

OPEN LETTER FROM THE DESK OF HER MAJESTY, EIRENA SOFIANA DOUKAINA PALAIOGINA, EMPRESS OF NEW CHALCEDON, ETC. ETC.

Regarding the recent declaration by Evan Bachmeier to the effect that the Oceanic Defense coalition, of which we are a member, is at war with the entity known as the Conglomerate;

We are disappointed by this declaration from President Bachmeier, and especially by the means by which it was taken - whatever the precise language of the Charter of the Coalition as regards the declaration of war, respect dictated that the Empire (as an equal partner within the Coalition) was made aware of the possibility of conflict in advance, as was not done in this instance. Further, whatever one's opinion of the Conglomerate may be (in the case of the Empire and her leadership, the answer to such a question is "Low", however high our individual and collective esteem for individual constituent parts of hte Conglomerate may be), the Non-Aggression Pact recently signed between the Coalition and the Conglomerate was a solemn covenant entered into by consenting sovereign powers.

Whilst the activity of slaving is one which rightly draws the condemnation of civilised beings everywhere, we - as an alliance - knew full well of its practice by certain members of the Conglomerate at the time that the Pact was agreed to. Whilst agreeing to the Pact regardless may have been a mistake in light of the values held by all Members of the Coalition, our owrd is our word - when given, it cannot be withdrawn so easily as finding a pretext. To take one incident of slaving in view of representatives of a Member of the Coalition as provocation to war is, to say the least, questionable in the eyes of the Crown. Particularly as Article I, Section III of the Charter stipulates the primary purpose of the Coalition: "The primary goal of the Coalition being to protect the territorial sovereignty and freedom of her member’s citizens, which are clearly not being infringed by Conglomerate members at present.

In light of this situation, the Empire has made a decision as regards our obligations as a member of the Coalition. We acknowledge that Article III, Section 3 of the Charter of the Coalition compels every member of the Caoltiion to join in such a declaration of war, and will begin preparations for war accordingly. However, due to our objections to the basis for war, the Empire demands a vote of the Regulatory Congress be held, on the question of whether this war should be carried out, in accordance with Article II, Section III of the Charter. When the Congress is convened and the vote taken, we will abide by the results of the vote and act accordingly.

With hopes for peace,

Eirena Palaiologina
Empress and Lady of New Chalcedon
Grand Duchess of Constantinopolis Secundus
Defender of the Realm and of the Faith
etc., etc.

(OOC: The Charter is here. Essentially, the Empress is demanding that the vote stipulated in Article II of the "Military" section of the Charter be taken. Until it is, the Imperial Armed Forces will muster and prepare for war (including, as appropriate purely defensive operations to protect other member-states), but not launch offensive operations until the vote is taken.)

Presidential Offices, City of the Blessed, the Beatus

President James Gatling was reviewing the next years budget proposal, when, one of his aides handed him a rather urgent document. After scanning the document, he knew one thing, the budget would have to wait. He was on his feat, heading for SATCOM. His foreign affairs adviser joined him along the way.

"You know what this means," President Gatling said, waving the document around.

"Yes sir, I got a copy of it too. Things could get bad, but we do have options," his Foreign Affairs Adviser said.

"We only have once option here Mr. Pickens, to stand by our ally, this isn't the time to cut and run."

"But sir, this is their problem, not ours."

"Their problems are our problems," President Gatling said, as he pushed through the doors, and entered SATCOM. Without a word to anyone, he started issuing orders. "Set Defense Condition 3, mobilize ground forces, and prepare for imminent combat operations. Someone get on the horn with the Zoingonian Military Command, we need to start planing joint defense strategies, should things progress." The room remained quite silent, many were wondering if this was some sort of drill. "Now!"

Should the brewing war come to Zoingo, Beatusian forces would be ready to defend their ally. Even if war seemed a distant chance, the mounting of a defense would take time to properly prepare, and President Gatling would rather be ready for nothing, than unprepared for war.

St. Dieter Naval Base
Visby, Greenland

The weather changed it's course for no man, and the early morning brought no exception. An icy wind had moved in from the inland, cracking windows and freezing cars and trucks where they sat. Across the entire city lampposts popped and went dark; neon signs crystallized to a dull, unearthly glow. It was a time for retreat; a time to bury oneself indoors and to insulate oneself in the warmth of good company and long nights of drink.

The servicemen at St. Dieter would have no such luck. Already dock-hands scurried about along the pier, loading and unloading supplies for the long operation to come. Through the blinding whiteness rose steam, wafting freely through the air and creating an almost mirage-like front to an otherwise deadly storm. One by one the great ships were stirred to life, moaning as great beasts summoned to a disdainful task.

Admiral Olaf Eriksson loved it all. The sights, the sounds. He loved the way it gave one a feeling of purpose, of being a part of something greater. It was why he had enlisted to begin with, so many years ago. It was why, at the age of seventy-one, he insisting upon remaining enlisted as an Admiral. As much as the Naval Chairman had bemoaned Olaf taking this comission, both men knew there was no man more qualified in the whole of the Greenlandic Navy. And so they had shook hands and said farewell.

Beside him walked Nikolai Burr, Greenlandic Secretary of Defense. Although he would have ordinarily been given an indirect briefing, the operation had apparently been deemed important enough to warrant a face-to-face meeting.

"Your objective is simple in premise- not so simple in execution. Your primary directive is to harass Conglomerate shipping, though if you encounter a slave convoy you're going to have to make sure you don't just sink them outright. We'll provide you with intel at every opportunity, of course- Baldor's ass, it is cold out here!"

Olaf smiled, genially clapping a hand to Burr's shoulder. "Why don't you go get indoors, my friend- I have the mission under control."

Burr blew heavily into his hands. "Just please be careful out there, Olaf. We're not hunting down half bit terrorists anymore; we're about to go into a real war here. The stakes are genuine."

The Admiral grinned and straightened his cap. "I wouldn't have it any other way, my friend. I'll see you soon enough."

With a great motion he snatched at Burr's hand and took it.

---

A few hours later the 3rd, 4th, and 7th fleets departed from Visby, heading out into international waters and awaiting further ODECON directive.

What has been done is done,
and hopefully mercy is the most beautiful of all actions.

The channel for words are always open. There are currently 94 Actives Lords in the Nakros states. There is a majority of 80 that wish to conduct aggressive military actions against the Oceanic Defense Coalition. Of those 80, many of them are Tempestras, and my own General Mahara Edoqlius is threatening a Sentarum of the fullest order. I am, however, restraining that situation right now because of a single thing.

Belief.

I believe that you, ODECON, have cooler heads and kinder logic and I believe that you, ODECON, are willing to see peace. While I cannot fathom what went through your minds when these decisions were made, I must say that I feel appalled at the situation. There is nothing talk of past events and while we earnestly try to make things better and govern things through empathy of our culture, you would so willingly impose your values on us.

Did you know that it cost me years of my life and billions of dollars to stamp out slavery within the greater Methronnian plains? Two-thousand years of a Jenrakian culture was gone from then on since. Eradicated. Now ODECON seeks to do the same with viciousness and mindlessness against those that they are unwilling to openly give a chance. You speak of yourselves as civilizes and we as barbarians, but it is not us who are brandishing heated steel and gunpowder amidst the high seas. It is not us committing to blind vigilantism in a manner most tame by even the cruelest pirates!

I beg of you for still, I am a naive girl, and so in my naivety, I believe that you have a kind heart still, though simply a bit misplaced in the wallowing war machine that you are so willing to awaken. I, and surely the Conglomerate, is still willing to deal with this in all kind diplomacy.

But know that I am also a businesswoman at heart. As such, for everything lost by ODECON hands that belongs to me or my brethren, I will demand a compensation for time, lives and goods, regardless of the nature. Do not say that I am unfair, for I am not the one exacting my own beliefs onto another without even the slightest suggestion of empathy. I will defend my property, and the property of my brethren. Consider this my first and only warning on the matter.

With kindness,
Her Most Beautiful,
In Grace of Enkur,
Sephilia Tezekilth,
Queen of the Amalgamate.

Sasz Kerenuk,
The Meredosa Temple

Only the song of cardinals were heard amidst the fall of fresh snow.

A smash across the jaw could be fatal coming from a Temsplace. They are large, bulky and powerful men, deployed in the manner of tanks. They raze buildings and destroy colonies. They stomped upon the greater half of many who dared oppose them. Brutal, strong and unchallenged, they carried their own dominions in the Amalgamate, their own kingdoms. One did not cross at Temsplace, and words and songs were placed of those who would even challenge Death itself.

Therefore, Sephilia, because of her own Tempestra - one of the stronger Temsplaces - would not be seen in public for a few months. Her molars torn and a few teeth missing, her lips were cut and her left eye blackened as her once smooth and beautiful skin was torn and bleeding. Her chest rising and falling in the painful gasps, she tried to get up as she slipped on the smooth marble surfaces, watching her reflection as the looming figure towered over her.

He smashed his fist into her back, sending her flat down onto the ground. She clenched what was left of her teeth before he pulled her back up to standing position, her feet barely able to plant themselves in any firm manner on the ground. "You are the Queen of the Tsellia, the most Kind and Graceful Maiden of our God, Lady Tezekilth. You do not beg." He punched her, sending her reeling back as she tried to stand. A long chain was visible on her wrists, tied and connecting to a chain on the Temsplace's armor. "You do not ask for kindness and help. You are the Queen."

"You are my master, my dominion. You are my sovereign being, without question. I, and all others under your banner, are your servants, Queen Tezekilth." He bowed to her with both palms on the ground, his head low as he begged in front of a battered crown. "You are our Lord. Greatest and without question. Please, my Queen, give me the command, and immediately, I will burn every field and every corner that should raise its arms against you." The Temsplace clenched his teeth, his fingers digging deep into the floor. "I would burn the world so I may never see you beg ever again."

Her hands, caked in blood, touched the scar-ridden shoulder plate, her head planted lower onto his back as he kept his knees planted on the ground. "It's okay, Saerus. It's okay." She spoke in small gargles. "It's okay." It was all she said, standing there silently.

Only cardinals were heard in their tiny symphonies.

Nakros Eiduun,
Mehelda Port

"Okay, okay. One, two, three, four - now!" It led to a wave of jeering and hooting. One of them, a man with some of the largest and longer fingers one could ever see, smiled widely as he swung his head up, facing the ceiling as morning lights were reflected from the angled mirrors down onto them. Windows were open and the flow of curtains were allowing a soft melody to enter, the drums very similar to the sound of whitecaps. But it was probably wasn't. Yeah, it wasn't. "Okay, let's get this done one more time for today." Them an shouted, clapping his hands together as large, powerful and burly looking men grasped each other's hands as they locked together, their heads facing down into a small huddle. "So what's our goal?"

"New Ping Pong table for the break room!" They shouted, hooting in tandem. "New Ping Pong table for the break room!"

"Fuckin' right, men! New Ping Pong table! We gotta get this shit up and out of the way. New Ping Pong table!" He yelled, as they hooted again. "Shit, new Ping Pong table!" He yelled, forcing a huge jeer and hoot from all of them again. small cubicles and desks along the tiny office were empty and clean with papers, though in the corner as they clapped hands and high-fived themselves with some of them screaming loud and early from the coffee rushes. The telephone in the corner rang, Vivaldi playing as one of them - a man in the same navy blue t-shirt uniform and trucker's hat - walked over to phone with long strides as he flung the receiver to his ear. "Port Mehelda Primus Shipping, Davis Newcastle speaking, how may I help you?" He asked, his voice cleared, punchy and excited.

A voice on the other was familiar - old and grouchy, with not a single lick of excitement in his words. Davis only nodded for the small barrage of words he was given. "'Kay, but wouldn't that disrupt scheduling? I mean I know two of them really need to get home right after we stop and Shaun's a bit sick. I don't want him really stuck on a ship for an entire journey. No, no. Uh...sure, okay. Saturday. I'll do Saturday. Alright. 'Kay. Thanks Mike."

He hung the phone, sighing loudly as the other guys turned to face him. Unlike Davis, they were large, bulky and well-built men with hunched shoulders and thick, square jaws. Many of them had the bands of golden rings around their fingers and some showed the signs of little slip. "What's up boss?" One of them asked, as Davis shrugged. "What?"

"We're waiting on a government official from Eiduun before we can ship out. It'll be a few hours, Mike tells me. Apparently there's something wrong with the shipping lanes and there's been a registration act in place for all shipping headed out to either Sanctuary or any other place in the world now. There's something up with the situation overseas and they're installing something onto our ship."

"Whaaaat? But that'll put us off by days if the weather's not good. It'll throw the schedule off entirely." One of them complained, his hands rubbing around his face as Davis frowned at his actions.

"Mark, that's gross." Davis answered, as the others chuckled lightly. "Anyhow, there's not much we can do. We just need to wait until that official from Eiduun comes, then we can get ourselves on our way and hopefully get this thing done. Internet's open for anyone who wants to get in touch with their spouses, wives - wait, no, same thing in this case - friends or family, you know. Just to hold back time a bit, and we'll see what goes on from there. But yeah, just a delay. Hopefully the seas aren't too rough once we set sail out."

    "Fucking bureaucracies." He answered.

"Yeah, but what can you do, right?"

AS Sasidrun,
International Waters

"I'm finding it difficult to believe that they'd be willing to raise hostilities against us." The captain was a short and staunch man of a little over sixty-five. He's been seasick more times than some children know words. His life has always been on the seas as he walked with pride and the stride of an old, but experienced man. The gaunt bags of his eyes were something that revealed his recent sleeping patterns; he was careful and wary as the Amalgamate Ship Sasidrun cut through the waves in all brimming confidence.

"A bit cocky there, captain?" One of his aides asked, a bright but curious grin on his face as the man shrugged, his old and withered raincoat causing large shrieks as the surface's wrinkles screeched upon itself. "Do you think the Amalgamate could retain it's dominance over its shipping routes? We're going to spread thin as it is defending all trading routes in the Conglomerate."

"We are, but it's not that I think we're going to be able to fend off everything thrown at us and win like that, but, I think there's just something wrong in it all." The captain cleared his throat before he touched the edges of the panels, his head hung low. The noise of waves were only soft utterances to the growing noise audible from the boisterous men in the other rooms. "I don't know."

    "Conspiracy theory?"

"No, not conspiracy. Not a conspiracy. It's just a bit different. Changing times, pretty much. I'd have thought the world would be a bit more understanding ever since these wars have occurred. But it's just one thing pushing something onto another." The captain's jaw moved a bit, but it didn't quiver. "I fought in Dreskisk's war, you know that? I fought in it. Goddamn it I thought I saw everything when the Rephalim line was broken."

"Well, that was when the Jenrakians fought other Jenrakians. This is now. We're fighting someone else. And entire organisation that would want to see us die. Not brethren at all." The aid stretched slightly, placing his idle hands in his pockets around the small command center. Everybody in the Amalgamate remembered Rephalim. Nobody forgot the days when the Dreskisk Royal family decided to kill hundreds of their own kind - cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, children - so many other Drekisks were killed by the 'pure'. It was a regicide of the darkest kind, and so many people did not know who to support.

"I know. And it's the only resolve that keeps me awake now. Fuck. We never had this talk, alright? I was an admiral once, and if this gets out that I was having a bit of doubts about everything, they might just replace me."

"Alright." The aid said, smiling before he turned around and headed out. "My break's over anyways. Nice talking to you, Captain."

The door shut, leaving only the hollow echoes with the Captain standing at the helm, his head still low as dusk would reach with the fade of cotton-pink clouds. "Yeah, good talk."

The Ava Centurion,
International Waters

Ships feel the bob when smaller, and the crashing of waves only give way to the deepness of the oceans that make up endless sovereigns. The dominions under the sea were still supreme, and here waded her warriors as Amalgamate submarines waded through international waters, the large and old cargo ship Ava Centurion struggling to keep up. A smaller destroyer, the Sireling, moved at a manageable pace as the cargo leviathan slowly marched through the seas. The chants of Temsplaces were heard, their songs amidst open windows as the warn of morning lights from the sun's soft horizon breeze allowing a fresh start to the day. Booming, powerful and domineering, flags whisking about the starboard side were like small drums, rhythmically beating to the sound of the ocean winds. There was no glass surface here.

Amalgamate flags flew strong, high and proud. It was property of the Tsellian Church, the ruling body of the Amalgamate.

In the darker chambers of the cargo ship, thin and lanky people coughed and hurled amidst a large rotting pool of vomit and feces, a small makeshift sewage slowly pumping it out into the tanks for dispersal. A balcony etched itself into the walls by the nails as the catwalks were high above, carrying shadows of authority. Long shapes bereft of kindness walked with impunity, elitism and guns. They stared down with open eyes, armored from contact through their faithfulness to God. Temsplaces.

It wasn't too long before the ship would likely reach the shallower waters of the farther Nakros states, but neither would it be too soon to believe that perhaps nothing would happen. Consider it all a danger, as even then dark things could go bump all too soon. Even in the morning, the wades of submarines were still there and wary to fend off any attackers that were possibly so bold to strike. The Amalgamate was becoming uncertain, and Sephilia's words, pressed in with so much kindness, were being pushed away. She had no other choice than to do what anyone in her position had to have done - prepared herself for the worst. Angry letters and disgruntled admirals from far-flung corners of the Amalgamate were not happy, but she had no choice.

Everything was to be saved and kept intact and whole. People depended on her, and she was to deliver. The Amalgamate's stretch from the beginning of Rashkta Nirandu's administration could fall in her stead because of this. Such was the price of brotherhood. While she was not receptive to slavery, and she fought against it, to combat the ignorance that she had seen from the Oceanic Defense Coalition was something she knew she couldn't face down herself. She couldn't combat ignorance with ignorance. That even as some of the more virulently violent Lords pressed for invasion, she knew the cost and the stigma of it all.

No, she would not let them have the high ground. The Conglomerate was not a monster. It protected none such, and she knew that. They knew that. They damn well knew that the Brewdomians and the Amalgamate pressed and disrupted the administrative efforts of the IASEN in hopes of ridding it. They knew that the Amazonians and the Amalgamate were participants in the World Anti-Slavery Organisation. They knew that she herself had expressed dislike of slavery at the Scandinavian Valdra Conference. They knew that the Conglomerate was a super-state, and that it the capacity to fix its own problems, and all that it required was that they simply asked. Nothing difficult. Write a letter, have a secretary forward it, and the Conglomerate would have solved the problem itself. They had done it with the Brewdomian withdrawal from the Blackhelm Confederacy incident. It could be done.

But it's apparent now. ODECON doesn't give a damn. They've undermined every she had slaved to accomplish. Her legacy is nothing more than a hollow cry.

Now, even as the ships wade through the wars, she made her move. Shipping would continue at large personal extra costs. Cameras and wireless were installed on civilian ships, with recording boxes being installed for safety measures. Escort ships would travel at great lengths without extra costs to private corporations to sustain it. To the Amalgamate, the costs equaled out to fighting a war.

But Sephilia wasn't killing anyone or destroying anything; she was protecting. She swore to defend her citizens, her kin, and all those who chose to call her Queen. It was her responsibility. And by Enkur's Grace, nobody was going to take that away from her.

Such as it was that the Ava Centurion sailed across seas with her blessing.

An Official Communication from The Solarvan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

To: [Open]
From: Head Representative Ka Hung Lee
Subj: The Conflict Between the Conglomerate and ODECON

I never believed it. On the day when the news of a cancellation of a NAP between the Conglomerate and ODECON arrived at my desk, I never believed it as with my colleagues in the Solarvan Council nor did several of my colleagues in Conglomerate super-state. As a growing nation which has experienced numerous internal strife and conflict for centuries back, the nation of Solarva has always welcomed a peaceful solution as it grown tired of conflict. A pact for the better relations amongst world powers is even better. Although both groups ran their separate paths, I always symbolize the pact as a symbol of peace between the both sides.

I never believed it when the a declaration of conflict between the two powers that followed afterward. Never. As former friends, even if its a shallow one, as Solarva always was a nation of trust, such hasty declaration following a cancellation was not only heartbreaking, but disappointing to hear of this matter. Amongst the Solarvan Parliament, everyone from the Solarvan nobility to Solarvan politicians, were huge disappointments directed towards the Coalition for this notion. It was after a long process of talks and discussions did this pact was completed. A legit, hard worked, and valued piece of document. To have this pact so easily taken away by ODECON without much discussion, notifications, and complaints to the Conglomerate beforehand and to declare a state of conflict shortly after this cancellation was indeed saddening.

The entirety of the Solarvan government applauded Sephilia Tezekilth, the Queen of the Amalgamate of Jenrak, when she attempted to resolve this matter on the discussion table. Although relations might be unstable due to this incident, to have the potential to resolve this diplomatically was highly respected amongst Solarvan diplomat and negotiators. Everyone was touched with her continued attempts peaceful negotiations even though end rejected once before.

Solarva are willing to defend its Conglomerate colleagues and its vessels, as a decree pasted down by the Solarvan's Military High Command and Admiralty, any vessels under the Conglomerate banner that are harassed, raided, or attacked will be retaliated by nearby Solarvan patrol groups within range along Conglomerate trade routes, just hours before as it begin to mobilize its fleets. As it pains me to write this message as the nation of Solarva never has feeling of hostility towards ODECON. I respect ODECON's resolve against the Conglomerate super-state.

But slowly as I near the my message on this letter, I'm begin to accept the fact that there was a conflict between the Conglomerate and ODECON. I only wished for peace, a childish wish that could easily be trampled by the gears of war. If a peaceful resolution between the two powers could be called and found, Solarva would gratefully accept, but Solarva would continue to engage its efforts for the Conglomerate cause as a loyal state to the end, even if it meant to engage in a full scale engagement with former friends.

Even with the two documents still lying on the table, next to my hand, never have I laid my eyes on them when writing this letter. I never had until I finished this message.

Sincerely,
Ka Hung Lee
Head Representative of the Solarvan Council
Representative of Azura Province

Great Mangana Palace
Constantinoplolis Secundus, New Chalcedon.

The office was large, but had a feel of homely comfort to it. This should have been no surprise to anyone in the know, because it was the private office of Eirena Palaiologina, who loved her small comforts. However, the atmosphere was anything but - between herself, the aging woman who sat at her side and the immaculately-dressed man sitting opposite both of them, the atmosphere in the room was distinctly tense.

Eirena spoke first, outlining the situation. "Ambassador Larkin, I realise the distress of various regional members. We've just closed one war within the region, and few people wish to see another start up again - especially one which will involve two large, well-co-ordinated outside alliances, both of which have members within the region. This being the case, Helena and I have come up with an idea which may suit our needs."

The elder woman spoke up. "Ambassador Larkin, the Empire does not want this war, but we do have obligations as a member of the Coalition. We anticipate a conclusion to the Regulatory Congress vote later today regarding military operations, and it appears that the vast majority of the Coalition wishes to continue military operations. This, obviously, puts us in a bad situation, especially as regards intra-regional relations between the Empire and her neighbours, one which should be avoided. What we propose is this: that the government of Castleclose, with the endorsement of other key regional players, request all Coalition members and all Conglomerate members - without naming the Empire or Saurea - to keep the fighting elsewhere, and refrain from directly attacking each other. Also, I feel - but Her Majesty disagrees - that a statement to the effect of 'Whoever brings the war here will fight all of us' would be most effective in keeping the war out of our region."

The two women waited for the Closian's response.

The Octagon
Constantinopolis Secundus, New Chalcedon

In the Central War Room, the atmosphere was markedly different. Instead of the strained tension found in the civilian halls of power, the air here tasted of ebullience - at long last, the Empire would be able to go to war alongside allies. In the centre of the room, Isabella Banton sat with a look of calm over her face - her only egret in all of this was that she was now too senior to take the field directly, being the key of administrative arrangments within the Capital.

She leaned over and checked the status reports - events were proceeding roughly as she had believed, which was good. Seven of the Empire's seventeen fleet formations were in the process of assembling off the western coast of the Empire, along with vast numbers of transports, supply ships and civilian vessels. The remaining ten were assigned to the protection of the Empire, and were stationed at key ports and landing areas throughout the coast. Finally, the various and disparate element of the Imperial Navy that were not assigned to standing fleet formations were assembling at the busiest ports within the Empire, preperatory to commencing convoy systems for all international shipping departing the Empire. The Imperial Air Force's figures were roughtly the same - approximately fourty percent of the air complement of the Empire was preparing and supplying for offensive operations, and the long-range transports were already asembling at several key airforce bases, the better to begin sending troops and supplies to allies in need.
Fuck it all. Let the world burn - there's no way roaches could do a worse job of being decent than we have.

Official Communiqué of the Oceanic Defense Coalition

To: [Open]
From: Office of the President of ODECON
Subj: Statements previously made

It is with incredulous eyes I read the declaration by the Queen of the Amalgamate – evidentially, to her, the fact that the Conglomerate did not lift a finger to stop the nuclear annihilation of an entire nation at the hands of a Conglomerate member, and continued to function as a blind shield against the wrath of the rest of the world, allows her the right to call the Conglomerate innocent.

It is our opinion that it is not you who “brandishes heated steel and gunpowder amidst the high seas” for the sole reason that the Conglomerate’s stores must have been used up in the genocide of West Troptopia. Or perhaps it was used in an attempt to stop Brewdomia, or punish him? No, that must not be the case, because no such attempt was made.

It is not merely with the actions of a select few Conglomerate members we take issue with, but rather the ideals of the organization as a whole. The Conglomerate encourages an obscene level of national sovereignty which for some reason its members find comforting – perhaps because it is established on the backs of the oppressed in the cases of Ralkovia and Master M, or perhaps because it allows national governments to wield their nuclear arsenals like playthings in the case of Brewdomia. Regardless, this sovereignty to commit such heinous acts is fully supported and defended by the entire organization, and as such, all members are guilty of enabling them.

We are, however, willing to discuss this fact, should Conglomerate leadership realize firstly that we would not expect to leave such a discussion without one goal being accomplished – the Conglomerate must never again blindly function as a shield behind which these heinous acts can go unpunished. At the end of such a summit, ODECON would expect to leave the table with the Conglomerate functioning as the superstate it claims to be, not an enabling device for tinpot dictatorships and genocidal maniacs.

If this is first taken into account, ODECON would be willing to meet under a banner of temporary truce. Specifics of a lasting agreement can then be decided upon by both parties.

Very sincerely,

Castle Von Wolf
Greystone, Romania, Greater Dominion Kingdom

The flames lit his face as the rain pour outside of the window. Deep within this dark room, only really lit by the fire coming form the massive fireplace like all castles have, the Count stared at the orange and sometimes blue flames. Thinking about the issues floating in this world now…this world that has been changed many, many times in his life time. He was pushed back in his leather chair, high back and relaxing in its own way. His trademark black cowboy hat rested on its top on the small round topped table next to his chair.

His grey eyes, slowly showing hints of golden orange and blood red in them as the time passed by, were focused on the flames in front of him. Lightning flashed in the night sky, the room was lit for a few seconds before it faded back to the darkness.

The thoughts raced through his mind, questions that only a few could answer. This whole matter didn’t make any sense to him. Why would ODECON dare to take on the Conglomerate? The latter hasn’t even harmed the former. Not one time has it happened. Did ODECON think of themselves as the new world police? Maybe was all the Count could think of. World Police or not, nobody in their right mind would dare to enforce anything on the United Dominion or the Conglomerate or the Brotherhood of the Wolf. That would be overstepping too many boundaries. Why attack and harass civilian ships when the could bring the fight to shores of the Conglomerate? There were many more questions flying through this man’s mind, but ODECON did do something right.

They told the world about it…which in turned allow the Conglomerate to get prepared. Foolish that they had to declared their actions to the world. Now they couldn’t dare catch the Conglomerate by surprise.

He smiled as the flames danced in front of him. He waited for the first shot to be fired and it wasn’t going to come from the Conglomerate. The Conglomerate didn’t start this nonsense. The ball was in the court of ODECON. A real life game of chess was being played as the seconds passed by. The world was watching and waiting to see the outcome.

To: All members of the Conglomerate, all members of ODECON, the United Coalition of Castleclose.
Re: Offer of truce.

Excellencies all,

The Empire of New Chalcedon fully supports the proposed truce and negotiations, and urges all members of the Conglomerate to accept President Bachmeier's offer. Refusing to even discuss such fundamental issues between our groups will, in the eyes of the Empire, shift the moral burden of the bloodshed squarely to their own shoulders, as President Bachmeier's concerns are both legitimate and fully justified by the lamented fate of the late nation of West Troptopia.

Closian Embassy,
13 St. Constantine's Promenade,
Constantinoplolis Secundus
New Chalcedon

Larkin was laughing his ass off. He had been laughing for the last five minutes, ever since the foreign ministry had sent him the e-mail about the ODECON and Conglomerate war. "What's so funny Lt?" "This Paul." He showed Paul the e-mail "Lynch will be having coniptions{1}. He wanted to be PM and then he gets stuck with this. Poor fuck." Larkin continued to giggle for several minutes when his secretary came in. "Your Grace? Apparently you are wanted at the palace." "Thank you. Alright Paul warm up the car we have to go because something tells me this will be interesting."

Great Mangana Palace
Constantinoplolis Secundus,
New Chalcedon.

"Essentially you want us to declare this region a no-fly zone." Larkin looked at the two women opposite him 'Screw it why not?' He proceeded to take out his left eye and start polishing it. "To boil this down I can tell you how this will go around the region. Brachyuria, being the voice of reason, won't want to get involved and his weight will keep most of the more crazy nations from getting involved. Khedive Rex will want to watch if for no more reason then the fact that their drug-rattled brains will make some nice colours. Castleclose doesn't want to get involved, we have no love for either organisation" 'Ever since one told us to fuck off and the other asked too much from us' "the only nation I would be concerned about would be Fasdia but Thorn won't do something by himself. Rollins and Rhae will probably agree but who knows how that supposed God will react to this." He put his eye back in he grinned "Your gonna have the whole foreign office awake all night over this as well as the PM and Ed. May I just say personally that I love you guys for that but if there are no objections I need to go and make a lot of phone-calls."

Official Imperial Diplomatic Communique

From: The Office Of The High Seneschal
Re: Statements Made Prior

Likewise, the Empire looks upon ODECON with incredulous eyes. Apparently, this war was begun over slavery, and tyrrany. Yet - in comparison to the rest of the world - The Conglomerate shows very little of these 'charges' that you would level against us. You continue to pander to your members about the actions of The Corporate Nexus Of Brewdomia, The Empire Of Ralkovia and The Most Serene Republic Of The Master M. Yet you bring your grievances here, and only here. Brewdomia, Ralkovia and The Master M are all also members of the region known as Gholgoth. Surely, if it is their actions that have caused this war between ODECON and the Conglomerate, then ODECON should also declare war on Gholgoth? Yet I do not see this happening, nor does anyone else who sees ODECON for what it really is - a group of ancient, dusty senators, so afraid of change that they try to make one final stand against the new powers that have emerged to shape this world. This is not your world anymore, ODECON. This world has all but forgotten you.

As per the fact that it was you who ripped up the Non-Aggression Pact, you who declared war and you who snubbed The Amalgamate's offer of peace when it was offered to you, we of the Empire do not trust ODECON to hold to this 'truce' that you ask for. The Empire will not attend any 'truce talks'. However, if our allies decide to attend, the Empire will stand down it's military forces for the duration of the talks.

But know this; you have made your bed, ODECON. Now, you shall sleep in it.

Sincerely,

The Tower

"The message is sent, my lord" Wulff stated, bowing to the shadowy man before him, having just sent off the communique "ODECON should recieve it soon"

The man stepped across the small room, staying in shadow the entire time. Wulff watched him, squinting to catch a glimpse of the man's face. Yet it was too dark, and the shadows concealed his face well. He turned to look at Wulff

"What does Io say" the man asked

"On their probable targets?" Wulff asked, continuing as the man nodded. At least, he thought he nodded "We believe, from our 'Leauge Table' of targets, ODECON are likely to attack either Saurea, us, or Ostronopolis. We doubt they'll want to attack the Novans, and they wouldn't dare attack the Gothic Lords. They are too cowardly to take them on. That leaves only those three atop the list. Io requests that we move to the penultimate stage"

The shadowy figure merely nodded, thought a moment, then waved Wulff out. Wulff took the hint, and vacated the room.

International Waters
INV Impurity

'It's good to be back' thought Captain David Esmé as he stepped into the bridge of the INV Impurity. A Ticonderoga Class cruiser, she'd been in the Naval Yards for almost nine months undergoing repairs and refits of every shape and size. This was her first naval mission since coming out, aside from the 'run around the block' following her release. At the moment, she was sailing alongside a large cargo ship, The Century Falcon.

Esmé had not been told what The Century Falcon was carrying. Ship captains were very rarely told. But he wasn't stupid, so he had a pretty shrewd idea what it would be. The Empire only imported two things these days - arms and slaves. On the sly, of course. Slaves were literally fuelling the Empire. The undesirables and sub-humans had been put to work building the Empire. Yet they were referred to as 'workers' by the Empire, although if that fooled anyone was debatable. But all this was moot, as far as Esmé was concerned. All that mattered was that he was back at sea. And they were making good time too. In less than 7 hours time, by Esmé's etimates, they'd arrive in Imperial Waters.

"RADAR, SONAR; any contacts?" Esmé asked, scanning the horizon with his binoculars, before settling on The Century Falcon herself. He scanned the deck. Men, of some government funded company, armed with assault rifles and other assorted firearms, patrolled the decks. Yet the many containers were sealed, and there was no hint as to what the ship was carrying from where Esmé was stood

"Negative Captain" replied the young crewman "Scopes are clear at this time"

"Hm" Esmé acknowledged, allowing the binoculars to hang from his neck as he looked ahead "ETA?"

"Estimated time of arrival in Imperial waters, at present speed and course, now stands at approximately 6 hours, 35 minutes" the crewman replied "I believe we're to escort The Falcon back out of Imperial territory once she departs"

"All in due time, Lieutenant" Esmé replied "All in due time"

Re: Statements Made Prior

The Conglomerate describes itself as a super-state. An attack on a single member is an attack upon all, and the actions of a single member are the actions of all. Although only two (following the abolishment of slavery in Brewdonia after ODECON's initial announcement) individual members of the Conglomerate practice slavery, the other members, through their special relationship with these states, not only endorse slavery, but may as well practice it themselves. The Conglomerate, if it wishes to act as one, must take both the good and the bad. An attack on a single member can not be an attack on the whole if the actions of a single members, however gruesome, are not the actions of the whole. If the Conglomerate did not wish to be involved in this matter, it should have cut loose its slaver members in order to express its intolerance for the practice. It is too late now though. The Conglomerate has made its stance on slavery clear, and it will have to be shown the error of its ways.

Furthermore, it should be understood that ODECON terminated the non-agression pact in accordance with the pact's original regulations. By sailing a slaver ship past the shore of Nidia in a blatantly provocative move, the Conglomerate took action that could bring itself into conflict with ODECON. As stipulated in the treaty, this is cause for termination. It is a misconception that ODECON dissolved the pact unilaterally and unjustly: the pact was truly dissolved when the Conglomerate decided to provoke hositilies with ODECON allies. If the Conglomerate wishes to blame someone for turning down the promise of peace, they should blame themselves.

From the Desk and Dossier of Mahara Edoqlius,
Without question to sense,
To whom it may concern,

Conglomerate seeks to maintain the harmony amongst its members as provinces within its mainstay. To appropriate the decision of one-state in any manner and believe that such is an endorsement upon all members only seeks to undermine the concept of individuality. To impose the ideals of one state upon another is to impose on the idea of sovereignty in its barest sense. What happens amongst and within Brewdomian borders and words are the business of the Brewdomians insofar as it does not violate the self-concept of any Conglomerate state it preaches against. Should it seek to have become a situation where there is no alternative to unconsidered acts of barbarity, then it would step in.

While it seems to make an argument that displays itself as sound and true, there continues to be hypocrisy in their words. Where was ODECON when the Shahanshah decided that 662 million people in San Francutso were no longer well enough to exist, that even without warning, they have decided to launch one of the largest nuclear armadas onto a single nation? Where was ODECON when Nicksyllvanian forces were so willing to commit action against Libertarian Governance's decisions to combat slaver ships? There is no justice in what you have wrought - simply your high-winded and skewed idea of morals, where you determine what is right or wrong. You dare to act against the Conglomerate and not against others because we are within your reach. You know it. You believe that we could fall by your words.

And to Lady Valérie Bardet, Minister of the Zinaire Foreign Affairs, there is nothing that legitimizes tearing up the non-aggression pact. Even criminal syndicates would be willing to give warnings. But ODECON, without warning, without offer of talks, therein decides on their own whim that such a work would be destroyed. There is consistent failure on their part to notify us of any developments. Would you hold a single murderer within a group of people to be the symbol of everything the group represents? Of course not, but that is what you are doing.

President Brachmeier's offer, we will accept on our own condition. My Queen is the one who had the most foresight in this little argument. You do not offer diplomacy after someone else and expect conditions to follow on your own whim. We are a reasonable people, but we are not dogs.

Do you know what Protocol 01 is? It is that when the Conglomerate should ever raise hostilities, attempts for diplomacy must be committed. It happened with the Hsacs and Gibetians, and we are trying to make it happen with ODECON now, but continuously time and time again you refute us with your high-strung sword. So, allow me to say this, on behalf of the Amalgamate, for we are all brothers in the Conglomerate (a fact that you, ODECON, seem to continually fail to understand), that my Queen Sephilia will accept these peace talks, but it will be on our terms. We are the ones who offered peace beforehand, not you. We are the ones who wish for harmony between both organisations. We are the ones who continually pressed for any murderous actions to be stopped beforehand.

As such, I will be most willing for peace talks under the condition that ODECON understands that it is not blind faithfulness that the Conglomerate protects its brethren, but rather it is harmony. We are a family, and if one member should so brashly commit to an action, you talk to us. You do not start heightening aggression like the vigilantes you are making yourselves out to be.

If you understand that, then I will convince my Queen Sephilia to attend these meetings and talks, and if so willing on my brothers, I would talk on behalf of the Conglomerate. Blessed to you, and praise be to Enkur.

Sincerely,
Mahara Edoqlius,
Sentauhrauk of the Seivox,
Servant of Queen Sephilia Tezekilth,
Blessed of the Amalgamate.

Official Decree from the Desk of the Caesar, the United Dominion:

My mind is having a hard time understanding the minds of ODECON as my eyes watched the chaos nature of a raging fire. I don‘t understand how you all do things. You cry for war one second then another second, you cry for peace. The human mind is something I haven‘t figure out in my long years on this world. You move at the Conglomerate like a pack of wild dogs, ignoring the peace offer made by my dear sister, Sephilia Tezekilth, the Queen of the Amalgamate. ODECON you have done wrong in this matter. And my dear sister has pointed out the errors of your ways in dealing with this.

There is no logic in your actions. Threatening to attack our shipping lanes like the common pirates and terrorists. I understand you want to hurt your enemy, you want to do harm to the Conglomerate, but there is no honor in how you will do things. Think before you act is something you need to learn. ODECON, you have no ground to stand on this matter as the earth beneath your feet is falling away. The cold deeps of the earth will shallow you whole…you need a hero to save you now. To repent your wicked sins on this earth.

The world needs a hero to change it, but you are not that hero, ODECON. There is change in the air right now. The world is changing as you read these words. I bet when you, ODECON, declared your message to the world that you thought we, the Conglomerate, would fly off the handle. Attack first and ask questions later. Do you understand now that your mind failed you?

I do wonder when you, ODECON, will bring the fight to the shores of the Conglomerate. We all know it is coming…you have already show the world that even these peace talks will not go right. You have already ignored one peace offer…and I have feeling you will not go with what my dear sister has offered again.

As the main dealer of death and chaos to the Conglomerate, the United Dominion will stand proud and gain more riches as the fighting moves on. Timber Wolf will supply my brothers with anything and everything they need to defend themselves. Yes, I know what you are thinking…is he truly mad saying he should be invaded? I am mad, my friends and foes. Maybe ODECON understood that to break the Conglomerate, you will have to deal with her dealer. Free her from the sickness.

So at this time, I‘ll place the ball back in your court. The world waits for your next move, ODECON. Don‘t fail them like you already have.

Official Response of the Fascist Federation of the Grand World Order

The day has come where the world finally sees the truth of the Oceanic "Defense" Coalition; a cutthroat, pseudo-visionary, hypocritical collective of common pirates and leftists! For years, the Federation has stood in the face of ODECON, for years, we have seen the gross injustices and lies brought forth unto the world by the self-proclaimed "crew of liberty." ODECON- a symbol a globalist tyranny, forcing their views upon those who have moved past their ancient, debunked theories of their so-called "liberty" and "freedom."

It has become apparent to the Federation that peace talks have been presented to prevent bloodshed between the Conglomerate and ODECON. Unsurprisingly, the democratic swine of ODECON refused to accept peace. In their communique, they claimed that they wish to better the lives of others. How, pray tell, is invading nations, murdering sailors, raping mothers, daughters, and sisters, thieving from people, and destroying their homes improving their lives? How is forcing them to sacrifice their children to protect their livelihood promoting your views of liberty?

One of the stated goals of ODECON is to combat piracy worldwide- yet civilian and merchant sailors, including ones from our own nation, sail in fear of being savagely killed by the navies of the nations of ODECON. Is this not piracy in its purest form?

The nations of ODECON are also as cowardly as they are hypocritical. They claim that they seek war with the Conglomerate under the pretense of slavery, attempting to paint themselves as brave white knights to save the world's downtrodden. Yet, do you see ODECON demanding that Doomingsland cease their slave trade? No! Even though a Doomani slave ship sailed through Leistungi waters- the same thing that ODECON is now accusing the Conglomerate of doing.

God made a place for people like the rulers of ODECON. It's called Hell.

Let it be known that if conflict erupts between the Conglomerate and ODECON, respecting our alliance with Ralkovia, Allied Governments, and other Conglomerate members, we will stand by them in conflict.

To: Griffith of the Fascist Order

We rarely deign to speak to Griffith and his lackeys, but feel the urge to remind you that is not us who allows the rape of innocent women. That is something Orderians do, along with consuming the flesh of captives.

We would also remind Griffith that war precludes piracy, and we are in a state of war with the Order. Therefore, no; it is not piracy in its purest form.

But all the same, if the Order is willing to for once show its bollocks and make more than feeble words in our general direction, the Marina Militare awaits them. We still yet wonder what happened to the promised vendettas that have been threatened against us.

Open Communication to the Grand World Order.

Old friends, it is good to see the mantle of glorious Fascism taken once more upon your shoulders. It was a sad day when the Commonwealths relations with the Alliance fell into disrepair, but we felt that the reigns had passed to weaker, less committed hands. Is this perhaps a sign that they are once more gripped tightly in the hands of Griffith II?

In any case, I am glad to see you are ready and willing to stand by us against these White Knights.

General Robert MacNeill.

((OOC: Santh, GWO is an ally of ours. If you want him gone, you are welcome to ask the rest of ODECON to leave and fight us yourself.))

Official Statement

Rather than engaging in what are clearly futile point by point rebuttals toward the various delusional theories and martyrdom complexes spouted by various members of the Conglomerate, the Armed Republic will merely point to the psychotic, genocidal madmen charging toward the defense of that organization and rest its case. The weight of the free world clearly rests on the side of the Coalition, and against those who throw in their lot with the dregs of society. It is a position that we are entirely comfortable being in, and one that we welcome. We are in the right.

Genocide. Slavery. State-sanctioned terrorism. All are crimes that citizens of the Armed Republic have valiantly given their lives to oppose time and again. All are crimes that have been committed by various members of the Conglomerate, who remain fully integrated into the so-called "brotherhood," against those who dare to oppose their fancies.

Whether through diplomacy or through force of arms, it is well past the time for these crimes to be answered for, and those responsible brought to justice. We will settle for nothing less.

And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes and heroines found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, ODECON was born—to fight the foes no single nation could withstand! Through the years, their roster has prospered, changing many times, but their glory has never been denied! Heed the call, then—for now, ODEVENGERS Assemble!

Re: Matters which have recently risen between ODECON and the Conglomerate

Leaders of the world:

It is saddening to see that so many of even the world's finest minds can be so utterly mesmerized by the incantations of a mere sorceress, made to believe that genocide, slavery and massacre are all defensible acts. Nothing short of delirium could account for the witless acceptance of the Queen of the Amalgamate's desparate pleas of innocence and virtue. Nothing short of blindness could account for her willing promotion of herself and the Conglomerate as bastions of peace and liberty, when her hands and those of her bretheren are still stained by the blood of innocents. The same hands that wield the pen which condemns ODECON as an enemy of freedom have in the past wielded the sword which crushed on its blade those who sought it.

The day has come for the Conglomerate to pay for the actions of those who they can still bear to call "brothers". This fraternity can no longer be allowed to continue acting as a shield behind which its members rape, pillage and murder, a mere tool which enables those who use it to act on every whim without fear of retribution or punishment. The Queen has attempted to justify the amalgamate's ways by stating that the massacre of millions at the hands of a single nation was the result of an individual state's actions, and yet, this crime against humanity was visible to all in the Conglomerate, but what action was taken? Was the nation expelled? Was the nation placed under the weight of sanctions? Was anything meaningful done? Or was a mere shake of the head enough to account for the millions of lives and opportunities which were so completely destroyed?

The true face of the Conglomerate - gnarled, brutish, ugly - has been revealed from behind the mask which has been protecting it from view. Leaders of the world, it is time to open your eyes and judge this beast for what it truly is.

Where Will ODECON Strike First - If At All?
Navy prepares for ODECON hostilities

|Air crews prepare for flight ops aboard INV Forbidden God|

ARTORIUS - Io Magar, Seneschal For Defence, today gave the order for two Imperial Navy carriers to put to sea. The INV Forbidden God and INV Wandering Raven were reported to have left Halifax Naval Yard earlier this morning, and several escort vessels were also reported following suit. This order, apparently from the High Seneschal himself, comes in the wake of several messages between ODECON and Conglomerate members, the contents of which basically amounted to no clear resolution between the two entities being reached in the near future.

The High Seneschal, Armin Wulff, has already made his thoughts clear on ODECON and their flip-flopping concerning peace talks. Speaking at a press conference in The Tower earlier yesterday, he stated that "the Imperial Republic will never sit down at a table with ODECON, unless it is to recieve their surrender". However, he also said that if it is the will of our allies within The Conglomerate, Imperial forces will stand down for the duration of the talks.

This has been met with mixed opinion, from both the public and from some of the other Seneschals, particularly Seneschal Io. He is reported as saying that "the High Seneschal should just get on and crush ODECON forces now, while they don't expect it". Io, known for his hotheadedness, has denied that the carriers will be performing offensive operations at this point in time. As for the public, a survey taken this morning stated that almost 76% agree with Seneschal Io's suggestion to attack ODECON forces, although they also said that they would not voice their opinion to a Seneschal directly.

Currently, the Ministry Of Defence is meeting with the High Seneschal to discuss tactics, deployments and possible targets of ODECON aggression. Although they have claimed that they will act against ships flying the flag of Conglomerate member states, sources close to military officials say they suspect ODECON may make a strike against the mainland of a Conglomerate member state. At the time however, they are unsure of who, and are anticipating ODECON aggression in any direction. On the other side of the coin, some officials have been reported as saying that ODECON is simply enjoying a bit of saber-rattling, but will do nothing more for fear of annhiliation, as depite their claims to "target Conglomerate alligned vessels", Imperial traders continue to sail the seas unhindered.

The Immortal Empire

You ignorant fools!

You cling to the false beliefs in liberty, justice, and equality as if they are a god for which you could believe in! You spouse your righteousness to the world and proclaim from the hilltops your purity while looking down upon the peoples and organizations of the world that strive to actually better human evolution and development. We extended a hand of friendship towards your organization, and you clasped it only to stab us in the side the moment you got close.

The Immortal Empire stands by the Conglomerate against this ODECON menace. You spouse your hatred of slavery in total ignorance of being enslaved, this shall be corrected. I assure you that by the time this war is over, you will come to intimately know slavery in all its forms and guises. While the Immortal Emperor does not permit slavery in his lands -- for this slap in the face, this blanket insult and accusation of slavery to all the Conglomerate is the gravest of insults, and for it you shall rebuild the damages that may be done to our nation -- you will toil away in the mines, the factories, and the docks for generations to repay the debts of this war to the Jagite people.

We shall crush you, enslave you, and never let you go. You will be ours forever, and then in your darkest, most depraved moments you will cry out to your false gods and cling to your false doctrines of liberty and justice and ask why your leaders so foolishly led you into a war that was neither worth the fight or plausible to win.

Should you continue down this path of futility into the flames of war, and reject the offers of peace made by the Conglomerate, then there is but one thing left to say ... Let ODECON burn!

Signed,
The Immortal Emperor

Your source for Oseaton and Tarquinian news.

"WE SHALL CRUSH YOU, ENSLAVE YOU"
Conglomerate members threaten enslavement as Oseaton fleets prepare to begin anti-Conglomerate operations.

Austerbeck - As the states of the Conglomerate continue to threaten the very liberty of ODECON citizenry, the Ministry of Defense has announced that advanced elements of the Second, Fifth, and Seventh fleets have begun to arrive at their respective patrol stations. The exact locations of these fleets cannot be released to the public for obvious security concerns. Consul Colton has refused to comment directly but her office released a statement saying that she "was monitoring the situation very carefully."

Public opinion has swayed to support Colton's decision as more Conglomerate members begin to issue what one professor of English called "completely nonsensical ramblings of what can only be a deranged mind. I mean, what sort of sense does 'You spouse your righteousness to the world' make? I know Colton is single and all, but I don't think she's trying to marry her righteousness." Many others have repeatedly commented on the seemingly paranoid delusions of other Conglomerate members talking about invasion and war before a single shot has been fired. "I swear, I read an article recently talking about how [the Conglomerate] should strike ODECON before they don't expect it and I wondered to myself, 'while they don't expect it? ODECON has been preparing for attacks since the entire crisis developed' even a uneducated Swugani could expect an armed response to the ODECON declaration" was one comment voiced during a nationally broadcast radio show. One social commentator said "You know when a white Oseaton believes that even a Swugani would question you, you've said something really off."

No word has been given on if combat operations against the Conglomerate had actually been taken. Some sources in the Foreign Ministry have said that a series of communications between ODECON and the Conglomerate states have discussed the possibility of a diplomatic summit to resolve the matter. However, with other Conglomerate states threatening enslavement and in some cases nuclear warfare many believe the diplomatic talks might be derailed before they can even begin. When asked if the recently talks about a diplomatic solution would put a hold the military's patrol operations a defense ministry spokesman stated that until a formal announcement was made by both ODECON leadership and Conglomerate detailing when and where the talks would take place Oseaton ships would continue to operate "under their last issued ROE directive."

"Kaptein? You wished to be woken the next time we went back to comms depth?" came a voice from behind the cabin door.

Captain Williams rubbed his eyes and responded as he stood up, "Ja, ja, I'm on my way."

Williams quickly redressed and stepped out of his cabin to make his way down to the control room. The area alive with activity as the sonar operators kept an eye on the surrounding area, the weapons officers continually ran tests to check the readiness of their weapons systems and the men responsible for loading and unloading torpedoes and anti-ship missiles. As the submarine rose to receive its scheduled update from the fleet commander, the communications center became the center of attention. While he waited for the sub to reach it's proper depth, he quietly asked for a steward to bring him a cup of coffee before turning his attention back to his surroundings.

"Raise the antenna, XO" commanded Williams. He didn't have long to wait as the latest message came in.

The XO was the first to speak "Well, what the hell does this mean, sir?"

"Well, Jon, I believe this means we're to follow orders and make it to this grid location by 9 along with the Gespartel. Pass it along to navigation and get us on track. Also, tell Sonar to keep me appraised of the situation. I'm heading back to my cabin for some more shuteye." With that Williams headed back to his cabin to resume resting, he had a feeling that he wouldn't get a lot of time to sleep once they made it to their destination.
