Greater Watford collapse against Buyan
Image
In a match where Greater Watford desperately needed points, a disastrous second half put them back into 7th place, with a win needed to even stand a chance of 6th place. For Greater Watford, this was a chance to vindicate their loss at Buyan earlier in the campaign. The match started slowly, with little going for either side initially. It took 33 minutes for a goal to be scored, and it was the away side that got it, Sverre Devold slotting in from the near post from a set piece. However, Greater Watford equalised on 42 minutes, as Peter Tilder, back from suspension, also headed home from a corner. At 1-1, both teams looked for something to improve the game in the second half.
In the second half, Greater Watford had their fair share of chances, but Anders Bergh was doing a reasonable job in blocking the Hornet’s half chances. In the 70th minute however, substitute Eero Halmiini was found unmarked, and some beautiful dribbling allowed him to send a well-struck shot into the top right of the net, giving Buyan a 2-1 lead. Greater Watford’s hearts sunk, and in the 76 minute, Eero Halmiini got his second, running into the box and flicking the ball over James Hemsworth. The end came in the 88th minute, as Edvald Mattisson broke clear of the defence, and scored from close range. A poor finish for Greater Watford, as they go into their final game.

Today we struggled against a side who unleashed their magic near the end. Football is a 90 minute game, but we were only strong for 60 minutes. We let ourselves slip, and it cost us dearly. Unfortunately Hutt River took a surprise win, so we need to go all-out against Alianza Albos to take back 6th. Obviously we’re much more tactically skilled than before, but we’re not getting the performances together.
With 1 game to go, we must reflect on what we’ve done, and consider the wider picture. Ranked 7th in the group and seeded 7th is a reasonable performance, and if we go up a few pots for the next World Cup, then maybe we’ll be noticed internationally. Every match is another page in GW’s football history.

For The Ticket

Well, what a relief. A one-nil win against Nova Anglicana which helps us avoid a play-off. We now have the chance of directly qualifying by beating Crya, which should not be an easy match, as we've shown all teams that they can beat us. We've not had the best of qualifiers, to be honest. We were drawn in a group in which everyone killed each other (as can be shown by the thirteen-point gap between us and the third-placed team), and were lucky enough to beat all teams very narrowly in many cases. Our good matches have not been many, and Blouman Empire made the best out of our worst matches to thrash us twice. Yet we can still make it to the World Cup. The wonders of qualifiers.

Now, the defeat against Sameba might be our curse. Had we won we'd already be qualified. Like, yeah, no chance of being eliminated beyond some kind of nuclear fall-out or something. A tie would've made tying against Crya an option for qualifying. Yet we lost. And now we have to win away from home because of that loss. Sure, Crya is obviously likely to not put up with our attack, but if bad luck strikes us we're pretty much having to go through a play-off. We could be facing very tough teams if that happened.

But about the match. Nova Anglicana put up a good fight once again. However, they fell victims to their own terrible attack. Seriously, they've got the potential in their defense (apart from being good tactically, they've got some quality defenders) but they always seem to fall short due to their terrible attack. Seriously, if you can't score against us in two matches, either your offense is terrible or you're very, very unlucky. Pretty sure the former is the case here.

The first part was awfully boring. We just couldn't beat their defense. Terán got close when he hit the crossbar in the twentieth minute, but we just couldn't make it through. Dandalleion was for the first time playing a bad game, failing to dribble a few players and save us. Kâí and Fôx were the ones making the most damage down the flanks, but they often found Tenian, Dandalleion, Tuzzio and Terán out of form and super marked. How were we even supposed to beat that defense? Were the Anglicanans really aiming for a tie that would greatly hinder us? It looked like they were, and I can't blame them.

But anyway, the second half was more of the same thing. Basically, we thoroughly failed to beat the opposing defense time and time again. Eventually, Terán and Tuzzio started looking only for Dandalleion. They would just find him too heavily marked, and able to do little. He did wreak havoc a bit, though, as he hit the post once and had a wonderful shot stopped by the Anglicanan goalkeeper in the rebound. But that was it, nothing else. Fôx and Kâí tried to penetrate the defense in their own ways (Kâí going down the flank, dribbling seven players and crossing/shooting, Fôx cutting in and going for the long-range effort or the wonderful assist). However, nothing would come out of it. Just too much defending from our opponents. Seriously, a few of them playing in the FFL would help them. That should show them how to not be completely defensive.

But anyway, more defending and futile attempts happened and kept happening until three minutes from the match finishing. Yeah, we were on the brink of a play-off match until the very end. We still are, actually, but let's say we're not so much on the brink now. Anyway, we scored a goal. Yeah, wonderful. Not deserved, but wonderful. Terán got the ball outside the box and sent a pinpointing pass to Dragãozý, who had replaced Tenian some minutes before. Dragãozý then stopped the ball and turned around lightning fast, before shooting as powerfully as he could. The shot went straight to the center, though. The goalkeeper then punched the ball upwards, with the ball then, thanks to the magic effects of gravity, falling down. Dandalleion jumped above all others when going for the ball, and managed to head the ball in with the goalkeeper arriving a bit too late. Dandalleion scored a goal despite a frankly not fantastic match and saved our ass once again. I'm also liking this Dragãozý guy, and Terán seems to always be dangerous. Good for them.

Anyway, up next is the most important match now. We're aiming for direct qualification. We cannot rest now. Let's go for the win. We need the win. We want the win. Well, at least I want the win. Cassadaigua and Equestrian States are not far away, I can smell them...

The dream is over.

This World Cup cycle looked to be filled with obstacles and potholes where we were going to make a fool worldwide even more if it was a group : Andossa Se Mitrin Vega ( Ranks ninth) and Taeshan ( Ranks twenty-fifth ) but was on the contrary, great moments of passion and joy this gave us national team , so much of our hopes to reach the playoffs and perhaps reach the toilet, if it had not happened yesterday, yet unguarded in fight to achieve it, but what has happened marked the end of the illusion , which lasted more than imagined.

Yesterday San Jose Guayabal draw against Hutanjia with a tight 3-3 on visitor status something that left us out of contention and waiting to be invited to the CoH , to be held in Valanora or better known as "The Land of Champions "because of his legendary exploits in the World Cup, to achieve lift the trophy five times. Returning to yesterday's game, San Jose Guayabal had everything to at least follow this tie excited that surpassed the expectations of every fan .

Pre match environment

The expectations were set so that SJG could literally "let off" in this game, the fans on both sides predicted victories for SJG, as we find in a collection of data.

Fans SJG:

Win: 72% (Most common: 3-0, 2-0, 4-1)
Draw: 20% (more common, 0-0, 1-1)
Loss: 8% (more common 0-1, 1-2)

Fans Hutanjia:

Win: 49% (Most common: 1-0, 2-0)
Draw: 2% (more common, 2-2, 3-3)
Loss: 49% (more common 0-2, 0-5)

Journalists (two countries)

Hutanjia Win: 37% (Most common: 1-0, 3-0)
Draw: 13% (more common, 0-0, 1-1)
SJG Win: 50% (Most common: 2-0, 5-2)

Bet services:

SJG win: $4.70
Tie: $6.15
Hutanjia win: $12.10

Under all this, only on the side of Hutanjia very even imagined forecasts, with 49% imagined defeat and victory.

Tactical Analysis

As a game of this type, it was expected that SJG used a more offensive tactical system than normal, more aggressively to undermine the opponent, so a 3-3-4 system was used, with four forwards, while Hutanjia used a 3-4-3 a little less offensive tendencies, according to the party he saw seemed that only one would be the protagonist.

First half, a studying time.

In the first half, to the surprise of everyone, there was no goal for both teams is devoted to study and try to take advantage of the bankruptcy of the opposing team, SJG looking try scoring goals through headers or midrange shots, and Hutanjia I was determined to find the counterattack and attack the defense of San Jose Guayabal.

The most dangerous times were the away side, Zelaya missed a header in front of the goal of Xavior Difagu, who began to gain some prominence for their good work, which grew when he plugged a shot Rudy Valencia who felt uncapable of penetrate the iron Hutanjia defense, after that the clock reached halftime with a 0-0 that does not really reflect the future of the match.

Second time, a goal fest.

To start the second half , both teams did not record any replacement , only that SJG decided to advance ranks and look for a good result against the opponent .

Barely a minute after the start of the second half , Rudy Valencia headed the 0-1 for SJG before the helpless eyes , Difagu goalkeeper , besides being his fifth goal in just two games so we can say that Valencia is inspirational, just five minutes later, the same Valencia scored the 0-2, this time in a volley shot that was made after a great cross by Faña .

And some say the old adage " The 0-2 is the marker that may exist liar " and was fulfilled , for 70 minutes , scored the 1-2 Peyton Sobote through a freekick , which lifted the spirits of Hutanjia who got the equalizer 72 minutes from Sandford Wakala who took advantage of an error of Henry Hernandez and got his head in Guayabalense goal, the game was 2-2.

The positive thing about our team is that it should never be given up for dead for just five minutes later ( 77 minutes ) Sean Fraser scored the 2-3 for SJG through a counter attack that left a bad stop Hutanjia defense and scored to Xavier Difagu one that little or nothing could be done.

Time progressed and saw that SJG got more points but they were going to help in the ranking, as already the dream was gone for the win that earned Taeshan and Quebec, but after 90 minutes Wayland Perakga is brought down by James Moreira and the referee penalizes penalty. The same Perakga handles kick and scores 3-3, with which Hutanjia rescues a point and SJG says goodbye to the playoff chances.

In the next match.

San Jose Guayabal decently attempt to close this WC Qualifiers against The Sovan Antithesis in Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador, which is expected to be a sellout and people ovacione the national team for the good results.

On the tactical side little is known of The Sovan Antithesis, known only victory we obtained from visitors against them by a score of 2-5, something that should not cause confidence in the players that say "We will play with all our effort without underestimating the opponent. "

In terms of fans, what is expected is a win and be able to leave the foundations laid for the next round.

One Day To Go

Hello folks, and welcome to what will be my last main blog about World Cup 67 qualifying, which is also our 18th unsuccessful attempt at qualifying for the finals. Before I'd like to go on to the main topic of this blog, I'd like to mention a bit about the match we played today, even though it was of little consequence. It was against New Rhodes, who happen to be the lowest ranked team in our group. Last time out, we beat them 2-0 at our place, in what wasn't really a convincing performance for what should have been the second seeds. This time around, the performance was a lot better, and if weren't for the heroic last ditch defending by New Rhodes in the last half hour of the match, the scoreline would have been a lot more embarrassing. We dominated, pretty much from start to finish, and we showed it by getting over 20 shots off on target; the fact that we only scored was testament to the defending of the home side. Not much to say about the goals, they were all pretty simple goals on breakaways. The first was an upfield clearance that fell to the Doctor 20 or so minutes into the match, which he then took forward and neatly netted the ball into the bottom left corner. The second came shortly after half time, courtesy of Jack who dispossessed a careless defender and scored with the keeper off guard and off balance. The third came from Jenny, after Vastra's mis-hit cross pinged back off the crossbar and into her path. That goal pretty much sealed the game for us with over half and hour to go, and that was all there was to say about it.

Anyways, now that I've done the boring bit, it's time to move on to the much more exciting bit: the last set of matches of qualifying. For many teams, it will be the make or break of their campaign, the chance to finally see whether the effort they've put in would bear results or not. And now it's time for something that's seemingly become a tradition on my WCQ blogs, a preview of what's left to fight for and who can fight for it:

Group 1: Osarius are unbeaten, top and clear. Legalese and Jeruselem are fighting it out for second place, with Legalese a point ahead. And the last matches see Legalese travel to Osarius whilst Jeruselem host bottom-of-the-table Hicana. A point tie would come down to GD, where Legalese have a +6 advantage. Personally, I think Jeruselem will make it, they should beat Hicana and I don't see Legalese beating Osarius.

Group 2: Valanora top and clear, Super-Llamaland second and clear.

Group 3: Apox and those dastardly separatists Boring Paradise are the clear top two, but Apox are only two points ahead and on a bye. Boring Paradise will need to beat third place Cosumar on the road to get that automatic spot, and I hope Cosumar win out.

Group 4: TIS top and clear, Mapletish and Kandorith fighting it out for second place, with Mapletish ahead by a point. Mapletish take on Yttribia away, whilst Kandorith travel to Falcus. In the tie situation, Mapletish win on H2H, meaning that this match is a must-win for Kandorith.

Group 5: Svengarda top and clear, Zwangzug second and clear.

Group 6: Polar Audiostates Islandstates are top and clear, but Northern Sunrise Islands, The Sylvanaes Queendom and Estope are all in contention for second place. NSI are point ahead of TSQ who are a point ahead of Estope. NSI and TSQ host Kitsuneshima and The Weegies respectively, whereas Estope travel to the group leaders. An Estope-NSI tie goes NSI's way, and an NSI-TSQ tie goes to GD, where NSI has a +7 advantage. My guess is that NSI will go second.

Group 7: Astograth top on 36, Saintland and the unbeaten Vilita both on 33. Vilita, with one less win than Saint and two less than Asto, cannot win the group. Vilita travel to Luzvimindia, Asto to Bonny and Saint to Dutciberg. A tie between Asto and Saint sees Asto advance on H2H, so in fact, Asto are clear at the top. Vilita will only get second with a better result than Saint in the last match (win v draw or draw v loss).

Group 8: Antoletia top on 33, Jeru FC second on 32 and on a bye, and Darmen on 31. The last match is Darmen hosting Antoletia. A draw sees Darmen advance past Jeru FC on H2H. A Darmen win sees them go top and Antoletia second. So only an Antoletia win sees Jeru FC second.

Group 9: The Archregimancy on 32, Sargossa on 30 and a bye, and Ossidiacqua and Gregoryisgodistan both on 29. On the last match, Oss travel to Hutt River, Greg travel to BoF champions Buyan and Arch host bottom of the table Olastor. In a three way tie on 32, Oss take the group title on wins while Greg take second on H2H, knocking out Arch in the process. And Oss or Greg would take the title if either ties with The Arch. A three way on 30 sees Greg eliminated on wins, and Oss eliminated by H2H, leaving Sargossa second. In other words, for either of Greg or Oss to advance, they need to win and hope The Arch loses, which is very unlikely, given that they take on cellar dwellers Olastor, a team that has been pathetic in WCC competitions it has entered. An Oss-Greg tie on 32 sees Oss take second at Greg's expense.

Group 10: Blouman Empire top and clear, Farfadillis second and clear.

Group 11: Audioslavia top and clear, Qazox second and clear.

Group 12: Kinitaria and The Licentian Isles are the definite top two, with Kinitaria a solitary point ahead and the two playing each on the last day, TLI hosting. And there doesn't seem to be much at stake here, as 36 points in second would seemingly be enough to get one of those three automatic second place spots.

Group 13: United Gordonopia top and clear. The Holy Empire on 28 and a bye, Mangolana on 26 and Krytenia on 25. Mangolana travel to Hopnation whilst Krytenia host the group leaders. If Krytenia win and tie with THE, they come second on wins, but they need to hope that Mangolana don't win either. Mangolana must win to finish second.

Group 14: Eura top and clear, New Sideburn second and clear. Even though only three points separate the two, Eura have the H2HGD advantage.

Group 15: Starblaydia top and clear, Maklohi Vai on 30, with New Montreal States and German American States on 29. MV host Maineiacs while NMS and GAS travel to Great Britiannia and Neu Engollon respectively. The three way tie sees GAS eliminated on wins and NMS eliminated on H2HGD, and MV>NMS>GAS works for any other possible tie. Personally, I think GAS will draw, while MV and NMS both win.

Group 16: Turori top and clear, Kiryu-shi second and clear (H2H advantage over Kericia who are three points behind and the only possible challenegers).

Group 17: Mizuyuki top and clear, Felix second on 32 and a bye and Free Republics two points behind. A simple one really, Free Republics must beat bottom of the table Preiva away to finish second, which should happen, in the process knocking out their mortal enemies Felix.

Group 18: Valladares top and clear, Barunia second and clear.

Group 19: ASMV top on 34, The Royal Kingdom of Quebec second on 32 and Taeshan third on 31. Any ties involving ASMV see them losing out and falling to second (ASMV draw and RKQ win or ASMV loss and Taeshan win) or even third (ASMV loss, RKQ and Taeshan win) due to wins. A Taeshan-RKQ tie sees Taeshan ahead due to H2HGD. ASMV host The Holy Forden Church, RKQ host Sandwich Territories and Taeshan host Hutanjia. In all honesty, ASMV should beat the cellar dwellers, and clinch the automatic spot, and I have a feeling that Taeshan will come second by winning with RKQ drawing and coming third.

Normally, I'd just leave it at that, but due to the structure of qualifying this time around, with 19 groups, three of the second place teams can qualify automatically to the World Cup, without having to go through the playoffs. Because of that the whole face of the last day of qualifying changes, and I will take it upon myself to see which groups can have that all important second automatic spot, and which ones are guaranteed not to have it. The figures below are the point totals that second place can have by the end of MD18 (I'm omitting everything else to make it easier):

Group 1: 31-34
Group 2: 31-34
Group 3: 32-34
Group 4: 32-35
Group 5: 32-35
Group 6: 30-33
Group 7: 33-36
Group 8: 32-33
Group 9: 30-32
Group 10: 34-37
Group 11: 29-32
Group 12: 36/37
Group 13: 28/29
Group 14: 33-36
Group 15: 30-33
Group 16: 27-30
Group 17: 32/33
Group 18: 32-35
Group 19: 32-35

So looking at the figures, it seems that Group 12 is the most likely to get a second automatic spot, good news for TLI/Kinitaria (a draw or a TLI win would make it a certainty). Only groups 7, 10 and 14 have a chance of getting the automatic ahead of 12. But there are quite a few filling up the 16 that won't get it. Groups 9, 11, 13 and 16 are all definitely just playoff. A New Sideburn win or draw in Group 14 would further eliminate groups 6, 8, 15 and 17. In fact, any two of New Sideburn, Saintland and Farfadillis winning would be enough to consign the second placers of 15 groups to the playoffs.
Anyways, this is the table of 2nd places as it currently stands (brackets are group number):
Pos Second Place Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 The Licentian Isles (12) 15 11 3 1 35 11 +24 36
2 Farfadillis (10) 15 11 1 3 43 31 +12 34
3 Saintland (7) 15 10 3 2 19 5 +14 33
4 New Sideburn (14) 15 10 3 2 32 21 +11 33
5 Mapletish (4) 15 10 2 3 52 27 +25 32
6 The Royal Kingdom of Quebec (19) 15 10 2 3 48 25 +23 32
7 Boring Paradise (3) 15 10 2 3 54 32 +22 32
8 Felix (17) 16 10 2 4 44 28 +16 32
9 Barunia (18) 15 10 2 3 43 30 +13 32
10 Zwangzug (5) 15 10 2 3 21 12 +9 32
11 Jeru FC (8) 16 9 5 2 42 24 +18 32
12 Super-Llamaland (2) 15 10 1 4 34 25 +9 31
13 Legalese (1) 15 9 4 2 36 20 +16 31
14 Northern Sunrise Islands (6) 15 9 3 3 40 24 +16 30
15 Sargossa (9) 16 9 3 4 36 21 +15 30
16 Maklohi Vai (15) 15 9 3 3 20 7 +13 30
17 Qazox (11) 15 8 5 2 36 27 +9 29
18 The Holy Empire (13) 16 7 7 2 25 14 +11 28
19 Kiryu-shi (16) 15 8 3 4 35 21 +14 27

What about us? Well, even though we're out, we still have plenty to play for. Mainly pride and dignity, if not much else. But our last match against Tasrailia is quite an important one as it'll allow us to avenge the 1-0 defeat they inflicted upon us on the road just before the mid-qual break. Also, with the group 14 table as it currently is, we could end up in fourth if we lose, or we could finish where we are in third but with either 28 or 30 points, and the more points we get means that we could go from pot 3 to pot 2 in any potential Cup of Harmony (or pot 2 to pot 1), which means that we'll get easier opposition in the group stages, and hopefully a nicer run to the final.

Battle of the Groupmates: Tigers-Brenecia, MD18

With a 4-1 win and a Brenecia loss to HorusLand, our second-place spot is assured. But we'll need to be careful and win if we want to avoid the top second-place finishers in the world.

Then again, Brenecia is hungry for revenge, and they have a better cause than stat-padding. Wait 'till we're facing New Sideburn, and then we'll be desperate. But really, beating Brenecia won't qualifying us for the World Cup anymore than beating Sicoutimont on MD1 did. Although that did help, because if we hadn't, Sicoutimont would be in second, not us.

Anyway, back to the preview. This is going to be a pretty epic battle between Brenecia and us, and only one team will come out on top. Or neither, if we tie. Let's run things through.

OFFENSE: Us: thirty-four goals. Them: seventeen. Seems pretty clear-cut, doesn't it? Even though Brenecia has impact players like Fiona Sylver and Gareth Farrell, our guys (Trevor Duncan and Xavier Platona) should give their defense a sturdy test. Tigers, 1-0

DEFENSE: Speak of their D, they've only allowed eight goals, which seems like an insta-win. Especially with our players aging and injured on that front. Brenecia, 1-1

GOALIE: We have the solid Tyson Richards. Their goalie, Franca Connell, is also solid, but she's given up a lot less goals than Tyson has. Brenecia, 2-1.

BALL MOVEMENT: A toughie. We both have great all-around passing skills, meaning it falls down to the top distributors: Fiona Sylver and Trevor Duncan. Sylver wins, because she's a pure passer while Duncan likes the attack just as much. Brenecia, 3-1.

MANAGEMENT: Tie. It won't matter with these two teams nearly even. Brenecia/Super-Llamaland, 4-2.

PREDICTION: They're more motivated and will win 2-1.

Xavier swallowed nervously and rang the doorbell. Bethany opened the door.

"Could we talk privately?" he asked.
Bethany, understanding the circumstances, said: "Sure," and closed the door behind her. They sat together on the roadside, watching cars drive by.

After a minute, Xavier began talking.

"Okay. April 24. It was two days before one of my games. We were out getting drunk at a bar..."
"The crash was at April 25," Bethany corrected gloomily, "at about 1:30."
"Exactly. After getting drunk at the bar, we drove back to my friend's apartment in my car. The next day, I woke up at about one..."

Xavier told everything.

"...and I skipped the next game. I'm sorry, Bethany. I know you want to kill me."

Bethany sighed and said nothing.

"Xavier. Have you ever wondered...about Andrea? Her origin?"

"She wouldn't tell me, so I dropped the curiosity."

"My sister's name was Andrea. Did you know that? Andrea Morgan."

"So Andrea has your sister's name."

"If you had to pinpoint an age for her, what would you pick?"

"Er...maybe early twenties?"

"Andrea was twenty-one when she died."

"Just give it to me straight up."

"Andrea is the spirit of my sister, who you killed by running a red light. It's a miracle she didn't kill you first chance she got."

"Just kidding, waffle around the truth for a few more minutes and I'll pretend I didn't hear that."

"It's the truth, Xavier. Would you like to speak with her?"

"How?"

"Your idiot teammates decided to move her temporarily into me."

"Ah. Yeah, if that's fine with you."

Bethany closed her eyes and lay down.

"Much more peaceful, I observe," Xavier said.

And then he was immediately assaulted. Bethany or Andrea, he didn't know; one of the sisters was trying to kill him. If he had been able to gamble at the moment, he would've put his money on Bethany, but as it stood, his only priority was survival.

"Argh!" Xavier said as the unknown force went straight to a single vein. He knew Bethany's objective immediately: cause blood clots, kill Xavier, make it look like a heart attack. He gasped and went at the vein, and Bethany took his mind, grasping and pushing him out of his own body, which was described medically as "extremely forceful type-three possession".

He heard Andrea crying with Bethany's voice: "No! Stop! You'll kill him!" and then: "Xavier! It was her idea! Don't hate me, don't hate me!"

Xavier fled.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bethany was fine with the new body. Sure, it was her sister's killer, but they had been reinstated. Two sisters, two bodies, one murderer slinking away. There was nothing wrong with that.

But she was guilty. It must have been her superior compassion that caused it, because Xavier should be the guiltiest. Xavier killed her family.

So she was fine with it.

"Sister, embrace me," she said. It was weird, talking to herself. Maybe Andrea should've taken the killer's body, she had experience with it, but Andrea had staunchly refused to help. Not that it mattered. Bethany was in control.

They hugged stiffly. Andrea seemed to be mad, but Bethany wouldn't know why. Xavier had killed her, and she should have been rejoicing. But it was all going to work out.

"Good evening" the news reader said, adjusting the small framed glasses before shuffling around his papers.
"If you are joining us right now, we are awaiting a press conference by the national team's head coach, Xíanjí Hatema. It is believed that he wants to address all fans before the last match day for a final push for support. We will go live to the press conference right now"

The screen fades shortly before showing a stage with various sponsorship logos, flags and a single stand with countless microphones.
A low murmur can be heard and flashes of a camera can be seen as the middle-aged coach approaches the stage, with a look of most seriousness on his face.
Cameras click and flash wildly as the man strokes his chin slightly and motions for silence. "Good evening" he said before taking a sip of the glass of water standing on the table next to him.
"I have gathered this press conference for a pressing issue. I have said this before and it seems that it has come this far. I have gathered you to prepare my resignation as coach of the Kandorese national team and.."

He paused and motioned for silence as the people in the room wildly spoke to another and some gasped at the words of the coach.
"Now, I know this might come as a surprise but I have promised the Football Association, the fans and the players that if we won't meet our target this time, I would resign. Although this is not final, we still have a chance and that is why I wanted to inform you. I would find it in bad taste if I would suddenly resign after the next match and leave the fans in the dark about what happened within the team."

He scratched his chin briefly before continuing his speech; "Now I do not want to demoralize as we still have a very very good chance of actually making our target. And I have pressed the team to absolutely win the next match and bring home that goal we set for this campaign. Now I do have great believe in what this team can still achieve. This is why I press, we -have- to win this match. No compromise, just flat out win it. And we are going to, because that is what we stand for. The decision will however be in Yttribia's hands. So I will pray to the gods, no harm intended, that Yttribia can hold back Mapletish and send us that godly gift of being the Kandorese team, that I promised to deliver."

He paused shortly to take a quick sip from his glass of water. "I hope that the next match day will become an amazing match day and I know the Kandorese team will give away an amazing show and will do anything to win. I also want to congratulate my fellow coaches and the players who have qualified already and who are in the play-offs already. I will gladly answer any questions later on and the some of the players will be ready to answer questions too."

The coached slowly walked away from the stage despite his announcement, still looking proud and calm.
The lights slowly fade and the screen focuses on the news studio again, showing a rather shocked reporter, quickly taking a drink and trying to recover from the obvious amazement in his facial expression.
"Amazing words from the head coach Xíanjí, with no doubt the most successful coach in our history. A hero, a magician and the wonder maker he is also called. And as he noted, it is not over yet. Kandorith's judgement day will be the next match day. If Kandorith manages to seize a win, of which coach Xíanjí is confident, they still have a chance of grabbing that second place in the pool. I am Lisho Yaru and I bid you all a good night and will be looking forward to the greatest match our team will show, ever."

The news room's light fade as a typical news channel jingle sets in.

Corvidae Triumphant

It's been a hectic few weeks. I don't know if you've seen the news, but we're one step closer to achieving our goals. Pinehearth is now under our control, and from here we can finally organise ourselves out of the clutches of Corvidae. Only a few have gone to Pinehearth, however, as the road to the city is paved with guards, barriers, and soldiers. Nobody can get in, and nobody can really get out. Flights to and from the airport have been grounded, and the only thing that's going either way is food and supplies into the city from other nations, and Corvidae Sympathisers out of it.

I'm staying in Fligsive, regardless. Our group is vital for heckling Corvidae at it's source, and we've got more than enough members to hit them head on in other areas. I've been directing the members of my cell towards providing false messages. I'm not sure how well it's working, but we'll see if Corvidae decides to move their forces towards the border with West Guiana. I'm actually very surprised the two nations haven't come to loggerheads, yet. You'd think they'd either team up and become a force of evil to reckon the world, a la The Licentian Isles (but then again, who's really in charge?), or they'd destroy each other in an all out war to prove who is best. Now, West Guiana may be a bigger country, but Corvidae has time on their side, being a far more experienced bunch of slani sods.

With Pinehearth on our side, Isaz has become ecstatic. He never thought he'd be the first mayor of the new revolution, and while I don't particularly know him that well, he seems like a fantastic candidate for the leader of the place. He has a burning passion for the cause, more so than I do, and really wants to see the country change for the better. Now he can see a country change for the better - his. I couldn't be more proud.

Of course, his ascendancy didn't come without sacrifice. Many members of the Pinehearth cell died fighting for their freedom, or protecting those who couldn't fight for it themselves. There was a fireworks display three days after the city was claimed, and boy was it spectacular. I saw videos of it on the DataLink. I'm hoping other people did too. Corvidae haven't taken them down yet, which surprised me.

Our actual plan is far better, by the way. We're taking Mertagne, and the north of the country down to Westonbirt. We already have half of Westonbirt, but the plan tonight is to kidnap the Mayor of Westonbirt and force him to surrender. We'll extend our barrier out around the city so that Corvidae can't get in, then sit on it for a few days until they give up. Just like Pinehearth. From then on, it's just a case of chasing them out of a few more partitions, then we'll have an uninterrupted nation from which to attack. I'm leaving the others to do all the war stuff, as I'm more into being covert. It's like Sparx told me all that time ago - I'm here to blend.

Speaking of blending, I was told to pick a code name for the general public to refer to me as when I come out of the shadows. James has picked "Devious". I can't say I'm surprised. As for me? I picked "Lingua". It fits with me, as it's connected to my name*, and it also tells you a little bit about myself. I'm not giving too much away, however. I'll never tell anyone too much, in case it comes back to bite me later. I've already died once, I don't want to do it again.

That's probably another reason I haven't been near Pinehearth. It's just too risky. Amelia keeps telling me I should at least see it, and my presence would probably be welcomed by those who are fighting on our side. I just don't want to. I'm scared to being involved in more conflict. Here in Fligsive, I can do everything behind closed doors, I can have lackeys to do anything risky for me. It's a battleground up north. I'd probably be bombed by Corvidae.

In our last Council of Nine (that's our name for it now, instead of the abhorrent "other circle") meeting, we discussed a name for the area that we were hoping to take. We can't be The Inevitable Syndicate any more, as Corvidae have taken that name and stood on it. Isaz suggested simply being "North Syndicate", which is all well and good until Corvidae start pushing us further South. I heard names pop up such as "Mertagnia", after the mountain range "Olettia", after hell on earth, "Sebaldia", by the member from Wozinitz, who is still far to optimistic about things, and "Mediteranada", after some writing in an old cave painting that was found around Cardertower. The stupidest of all was "Krytenislavia". I think - hope - James was joking. Sensible suggestions included "The Syndicate of Calania", back to the old "Fligsive and Magnaeus", the rather out there "Panance", named after the general name for the area between the Sebald and West Guiana, or "The United Coalition".

All of these other proposed names are simply awful, and I'd hate to live in them. We're taking the Syndicate back, for the people that want to live in it.

Princess Amy, Amy Pond and Daisy Ferris ...

Princess: This is Princess Amy for Naked News Jeruselem. Match day 18 looms and both Jeruselem and Jeru FC can still take a place in the playoffs but it's all very tight. I'm with Amy Pond representing the pasy and young Daisy Ferris representing the future.
Amy: Hi
Daisy: Oh, I'm on TV!
Princess: Pondy, your daughter is flying the flag for another country but she's doing a great job for a country who's underachieved
Amy: Yes, I guess she needed to go overseas to prove herself
Princess: Young Daisy here is the next generation. The Ferris name is in Jeruselem world cup history and it's gonna be back.

Daisy: Yes, but I'm still a farmer at heart.
Princess: So why go back into football?
Daisy: Yes well, we don't need us young Ferris to slave on the farm now.
Princess: You can afford to get workers now
Daisy: We love our football and Mum said I should have a go at football

Princess: So you're currently doing trials?
Daisy: Yes, I take my work ethic with me. Work hard and eat healthy
Amy: I'm yet to see Little Amy here work hard
Princess: Thanks for that ...
Daisy: The coach says I need to learn a lot but I'm just a kid
Princess: Amy Pond is retired and spends more time teaching the next generation, maybe she can get some tips

Amy: Every player is different but some things are the same
Princess: Like what?
Amy: Some people have to work hard to just get places and others have talent without trying
Princess: Knowing the right people helps too
Amy: well, yes ...
Daisy: I guess I'm lucky, the Ferrises know the Dallases well just like the Ponds

Princess: The current Jeruselem is young and it's done well despite losing a lot of veterans
Amy: We've come so close to qualifying last two cups, we're never out but it's always last day dramas
Daisy: I hope to contribute my time for Jeruselem
Princess: Daisy, it's snake season. Dangerous time for farmers?
Daisy: Oh yes, I've been lucky. Only bites from little nippers
Amy: I'm a city girl

Princess: Well, I might not be here if it wasn't for modern medicine
Daisy; Them cobras are nasty, you must be tough if one bites you twice you survive
Amy: I'm more worried about the spiders round here
Princess: Well, that's it from us. Let us hope Jeruselem and Jeru FC can make the playoffs.
Amy: It's certainly not from the lack of trying
Daisy: Yes, I want us and those nongs from Jeru FC in the finals

Princess: You've meet them then?
Daisy: Yes, they are hard to miss ... bad singing and all
Princess: Well, my aunt has to work with them
Amy: Better her than us
Daisy: You girls must be lots of patience
Princess; We CREATED Jeru FC so they are our babies

How quickly things could fall.

With news fast coming in from Llamaland that they'd wrecked Kintratar, Jon Slatesaver demanded his team stand their ground, hold their line and press the Horuslanders back. Fifteen minutes to go and Brenecia were clinging onto a hard-won 2-1 lead, a Gareth Farrell header and a long shot from Miriam Spitfire (who had genuinely been resurgent for the side under Slatesaver) bringing them the lead.

But Horusland were well-ranked, notable for a strong offense and most importantly of all right now desperate to reclaim some glory after a poor qualifying campaign so far. After Steed Raynor had a good chance to score but skied it from inside the box, the Wolves decided this time it would be their game.

Izumi's long goalkick triggered a swarm upfield from the hosts, and Sylver failed to win the header against Haalinen. The ball bounced across to Aslan on the right flank, who cut the ball well into the box. Virtanen cut in front of Drummond and slid the ball in at the near post, leaving Connell without a chance.

Brenecia was stunned, but not out yet. They needed a goal to retake the lead and stay in contention - Slatesaver waved his team forward. They nearly took the lead again - Raynor's long ball to an unmarked Farrell took a brave leaping punch from Izumi to force to safety. Another attack from the wings ended in failure - a cross from Spitfire was poor, and easily cleared by Alkemo - and that sent the Wolves surging forward on the counter.

Brenecia were looking open and vulnerable. Haalinen took possession, and feinted past Erin Camden (on for the tired-looking Chenoweth). Forcing Sylver back, he laid the ball across to Ibarra, who booted it to Hamasaki on the left wing. Finding a gap in the Brenecian line, Hamasaki dashed forward and steadied himself to shoot...

Samantha Allbeck lunged in to bring him down on the edge of the box.

She was lucky just to see yellow, and skilled to place herself just out of the penalty area. Still, it was a free kick in a dangerous location, as a five-man wall blocked the direct route to goal for Haalinen. But Camden could recognise that look in his eyes. Confident, self-assured... the way she'd felt when she'd taken her first goal for the Patriots. She knew it was going in even before Haalinen hit the ball.

Horusland won the match 3-2.

After the match, Slatesaver was uncharacteristically furious. They'd left themselves open on the counter in a game they should've won. For Brenecia to have come so far only to falter now...

Still, the match against the Llamas now meant a chance to reclaim their pride. Brenecia's home form had been impeccable - six wins from seven, only losing to Valanora. Of course the corollary was they'd just won two of their away matches, against the two weakest teams in the group at that, but meeting their rivals at the Union Park meant a lot. And at the end of the day, they'd come close, they'd made some headlines and shocked some of the established elite in the process.

It may have been a running theme throughout the campaign, but there was finally something for Brenecia to hope for.

The new generation of gaming consoles have arrived. In Filopines, there is one clear winner. The PlayBox 4.

The sales of the PlayBox 4 nearly tripled that of the R-Gen One after its release two months ago. Sone, the PlayBox 4's developers and MacroHood, the R-Gen One's developers, have been fierce rivals for almost two decades now. Sone were the first to create video game console in Filopines with the first ever PlayBox. MacroHood did not enter the scene with the original R-Gen until 2000, when the PlayBox 2 was also released. The PlayBox had the advantage at the time, with not many PlayBox fans switching over to the seemingly unoriginal R-Gen console. Come 2006 however, MacroHood created the legendary R-Gen 360. The well-advertised and revolutionary R-Gen 360 left the shelves full of unsold PlayBox3's.

The R-Gen 360 took gaming and video game consoles to a whole new level. The R-Gen 360 introduced a social side to the rather unsocial gaming. Two months ago, the new generation of gaming consoles from Sone and MacroHood were released and as we said earlier, there is one clear winner. The R-Gen One failed to innovate from the 360 while the PlayBox 4 did.

I don't know if gaming consoles can get any better after the release of the PlayBox 4. We all love the PlayBox 4.

"Huh... The lights are off?"

Ruby looked at her house a bit away, seeing as no lights were on at her house. While the rest of the neighborhood had their lights on, something they had to thank the Sunrise for, it was a bit weird to see her home being the only place around on the dark. For a second or two, she felt weird. For whatever reason, her mind associated it to her dream. The Deadly Alliance. The chance of spilling blood of the unrighteous ones under the eyes of the Great Lord once again... the chance of returning to war. The war that made her mother immortal while dead. The war that made hundreds, millions immortals as they walked through the door of the living.

But when Ruby stopped that thought, she noticed something that made her ill of her own mind. She noted a car, a well-made NORTHERN EDENIAN car at their garage. And as she slowly walked in, she noted two strangers having dinner with her father, a woman and what seemed to be her daughter, joyfully. If one has been together with this story since the start, one can already figure out what was Ruby's reaction. "WHAT THE HELL?"

"Ruby, darling... you are well aware that... now that we are under the same flag and..."

"Who the hell are these two?" yelled Ruby, angered.

"Oh, they are two... well..."

"Say it, Dad."

"...Foreigners. They don't have anywhere to go and we have enough food here. Plus, June was at that try-out you went to."

"June? WHO IS JUNE?"

The daughter slowly raised her hand, as scared as possible. While her mother was trying to look unaffected by the presence of Ruby, June was clearly worried. Ruby quickly left to her bedroom and fell asleep. It was clear... her dad was giving up the dream of South Edenia. And Ruby had to make sure her father would see why dreaming for South Edenia to rise once again wasn't bad.
Tails... Watch out, you're gonna crash, aaaaah!

NAMIBE CHRONICLE

CABINDA GRANTED FULL INDEPENDENCE!

Image
Crowds in Cabinda react to news of the Treaty

CABINDA- Looking back, it was almost expected. Going back eight years to the assassination of King Sien III, all the events which have transpired seem to lead directly to this day, the day Cabinda was formally recognized as an independent nation from the remainder of West Angola. Included as an attachment to the original Treaty of Benguela that granted West Angola its independence, the small northern region has always been apart from the rest of the nation. The original colony was recognized as a separate entity from West Angola, and many within Cabinda, Portuguese and Bantu alike, were extremely unhappy to be attached to the new nation. For the Portuguese, the Treaty was seen as a betrayal of their interests by Lisbon, and the Bantu were resentful of what they viewed as a simply a new source of foreign white hegemony to the south. Cabinda had twice tried to secede in the past, the first time during the 1897 Civil War between King Sien I and the eventual King Jan I, and the second time during the reign of King Jan III in the late 1960's. The first attempt ended in diplomatic negotiations, as King Jan I promised to be more receptive to Cabindan interests in exchange for their assistance in gaining the throne, and the second ended badly, as the Army came down on the region like a hammer, leveling many of the rebellious areas and effectively ending any dream of Cabindan independence.

With Cabinda largely devastated and the memory of such a terrible defeat fresh on the minds of its citizens, the eagerness to secede died out, and Cabinda slowly assimilated further into West Angolan cultural identity. The reign of King Jan IV brought a period of reconciliation, as he pardoned many of those who had been mid-level participants in the rebellion, while restoring the ban on the death penalty and commuting the sentences of the leaders to life in prison. With support in Cabinda the highest it had ever been for a West Angolan monarch, Jan IV made a series of state trips there in the 1970's and 80's, and was met with cheering crowds at every stop he made. Over time, the memory of rebellion faded, and Cabindans and West Angolans began to question why the province would ever want to secede in the first place. Throughout the tumultuous reign of August II, which ended in disaster as the King was indicted for murder, Cabinda was one of the strongest parts of West Angola, hosting one of the original ten clubs in the West Angolan Football League and remaining strongly pro-government during August's trial, his exile, and the attempted coup that resulted in his death.

All that changed, however, when King Sien III was assassinated during World Cup 65. After capture, the surviving assassins announced at their trial that they had killed the King in the name of Cabindan independence, a cause which hadn't been attributed to a terror attack in nearly seventy years. Unfortunately for West Angola, the subsequent incarceration of the assassins without possibility of parole angered many Cabindans, reigniting the anger that had burned against Namibe prior to King Jan IV's reign. Just prior to the World Cup 67 Qualifying Draw, tensions exploded in Cabinda as a group of terrorists seized control of Fort Blyr Military Base and proclaimed it the new headquarters of a Cabindan Free State. Despite attempts to diffuse the situation, several prominent Cabindans within West Angola defected en masse to the rebellious province, including football star John Blevit, and fighting finally broke out just after qualifying began. The first West Angolan push into Cabinda ended in disaster, with high casualties and nearly total vehicle losses for the West Angolan advance party causing the rest of the attacking force to collapse into a panicky retreat. A second attempt also ended in disaster, as a series of unexplained events (including a wall of fire and several spontaneous lighting strikes) halting the attack and forcing West Angola to withdraw in disgrace for a second time.

Following the second retreat, Queen Anna announced that she would be willing to meet with Cabindan representatives to discuss terms of a peaceful Cabindan departure from West Angola, and yesterday the two groups announced that they had reached an accord. Under the historic Treaty of Soyo, Cabinda is recognized by West Angola as a fully independent country, with complete sovereignty on par with West Angola's to make trade agreements, enact legislation, and determine domestic policy. Important to note, however, is that Cabinda is not granted separate membership from West Angola in the Eurasphere, as Namibe will continue to speak for the province to the other members of the alliance, a situation to which both Cabinda and West Angola appear to find acceptable. Going forward, it will be important to see how the relationship between the two nations develops, which will begin to be determined when representatives from around Cabinda meet next Saturday to elect their new government. At present time, it is impossible to speculate at who will be chosen to lead the new nation, but his stance towards Namibe will go a long way to determining the stability of the region in the future.

Mangolana Gazzette

Win and your in, the playoffs that is!

With the World Cup qualifiers winding to an end, Mangolana can easily say that they are in the driver seat for a birth to the World Cup qualifying playoffs. Mangolana plays at newcomer Hopnation, who is playing in there first World Cup qualifiers this cup, in hope of finding a win and clinching the second place spot in group 13. With this being the final match-day, we take a quick look at the current group 13 standings and find that The Holy Empire and their batch of "Holy" jumping beans are currently sitting in 2nd place for the group with 28 points and have a bye for the final match-day. The gator mangos of Mangolana sit next in group 13 with 26 points and the away match at Rhizome Arena. Sitting just below Mangolana at 25 points are the Cyan stars of Krytenia who will play at home against the group winners United Gordonopia. The Krytenia result does not matter to Mangolana and only worries those fans from the dreamed realm of The Holy Empire. Here are the situations for each nation.

The Holy Empire who sits idle tonight for this round of matches, currently leads the trio in points but has the same amount of wins as Krytenia and Mangolana which, thanks to the tiebreakers puts them at the mercy of the cyan stars as Krytenia and The Holy Empire will share points and head to head results with Cyan win over United Gordonopia. The tiebreakers will then swing in the favor of Krytenia as they hold the next tiebreaker in number of wins, which they will have 1 more of than The Holy Empire. Krytenia however does not hold the keys to their own destiny. That role falls onto Mangolana, as with a win Mangolana takes the group 13 playoff spot. A loss or draw in the Hopnation for Mangolana sends Krytenia to the playoffs should they defeat United Gordonopia, while a loss of draw by both sends The Holy Empire to the playoffs as group 13's runner-up. Mangolana has to be concerned about this match though and play like the Mangolana of old in playing for the win, and nothing less as anything less sends Mangolana home and begging for a Cup of Harmony invitation. Can Mangolana win, can the Mango Gators pull out a win like the team of old, many dont expect it, but heck, we will still cheer as loud and as strong as the best nations in the world when we say MANGO POWERS ACTIVATE!!!!

La Forêt Pretty Cure: Chapter 7: Sports Match! Enter the Worldwide Tournament!/スポーツマッチ!世界大会に参加してください!/Supōtsu Matchi! Sekai Taikai ni Sanka shite kudasai!
Story
It is January 3, when Mika, Minami, Asami, Isami and Natsuko talk to their football coach Kazuhiko Yokoda. He states that his team (and the other sports teams) doesn't do well in national tournaments (let alone regional ones), so he stops allowing the teams from being in competitions. After learning that the deadline is today at 3pm, Mika and Minami try to convince Kazuhiko otherwise, but to no avail.
{Eyecatch: Dodecahedron dice rolled to show the numbers 12 (Hours in Half a Day) and 5 {Number of Cures}
In a netball game in gym class that Isami is playing in, Cetus targets the referee's Heart Crystal and creates a Vitabot with a whistle which makes people's eardrums bleed with its loud music. The cures' ears start bleeding, but Isami comes back with the "reinforcements", which are headphones. Able to defeat the Vitabot with her Pretty Cure Terre Landslide, thus purifying the Vitabot into the Heart Crystal. At the end, while the referee finds himself sitting on the benchers, Mika and the others learn that Kazuhiko's team is playing in the tournament, so they are excited.
{Preview: Exciting! Grandmother's Here!/エキサイティング!お婆さんここにある!/Ekisaitingu! Obāsan Koko ni Aru!}
Quotes
Mika: So, the team will be in the 2014 Equatoria Junior Soccer Cup we've waited forever for, right,
Kazuhiko Yokoda: {long pause} No.
Mika: No? Why?
Kazuhiko Yokoda: Let me tell you something.
Isami: What is it?
Kazuhiko Yokoda: The teams in the Shinringū Private School aren't really successful in national tournaments, let alone regional ones.
Isami: Last year, the men's tennis team reached the quarterfinals.
Kazuhiko Yokoda: One of the boys had their eye hit by the ball.

Postby Kinitaria » Sat Jan 04, 2014 7:52 pm

Ten minutes to go, and those in blue and yellow were staring into the chasm once again.

A draw is enough. Get a draw, and they're through. Not necessarily as group winners, but there's not a single combination of results that could oust them from a best-runner-up qualification spot, at worst. Playing at home against a bunch of minnows who had absolutely nothing to play for, how could things possibly go wrong this time?

Here's how: they were 4-2 down. They'd started well enough, Vacarestič having put them 1-0 up with a free-kick after just two minutes. Daniel Fuller had replied midway through the first half, but it wasn't long before Milan Beskid restored Kinitaria's advantage. Some of the crowd dared to dream after so long. Although Miroslav Kovalcik had ensured Carialus went into the break on level terms, they were still dreaming. After all, they only needed a draw. Surely, this time, they'd get it right?

It was all optimism from the players and the coaches at half-time. They'd played well, imposed themselves on the game, been undone by a couple of lucky breaks, but it was finally all coming together. All they had to do was go out in the second half and play like they had been, and they'd be fine. No-one wanted to mention the unthinkable. Presumably it's called that because they didn't want to think about it. With the Licentian Isles leading against Aels, a defeat here would throw their chances of qualification wide open once again.

They made a bright opening to the second half, numerous efforts just missing the target, more still testing William Culpepper in the Carialus net. It was all Kinitaria, they just needed that killer goal to force their way through. With an hour on the clock, the killer goal did arrive, scored by Karl Sala. Unfortunately, it was at a Carialus corner and he'd just steered the ball past his own goalkeeper. The heartbreak was here again, the same old repetitive story everyone in the country was only too familiar with.

The intensity of the Kinitar pressure increased once again. It was as though there was a forcefield 30 yards from the Carialus goal. By the way things were going, there was one over the goal too. Try as they might, they couldn't force a goal. Culpepper in particular was playing a blinder to deny the hosts' attack time and time again. Frustration was beginning to creep in, and Navra Kulisev saw yellow for a mindless tackle on Manu Mannerheim following yet another wasted opportunity. It could so easily have been red, and perhaps should have been, as the stricken midfielder was down on the field for a good few minutes receiving treatment.

It was almost in slow-motion that, with Kinitaria so far upfield pushing for that equaliser, Culpepper hoofed the ball upfield for it to land at the feet of Vinicious Martin. The striker kept his cool to take the ball around Spirlea and fire home into the bottom corner. Silence reigned around the Central Stadium. Those old predictions of doom and gloom - that "Kinitaria always lose the crucial last games" - were being played out yet again. Even if there was one game left, the players felt crushed right at that moment.

Melody Pond immediately changed things around. On came Virne Limcič for David Topol, leaving Kinitaria with four natural attackers on the field. Sergiu Vacarestič, captain for the day, tried his best to roar his team into action. His screaming, fist-pumping antics certainly served to rouse the home crowd, who desperately tried to roar their side on to a recovery. But the Kinitars looked almost depleted, as though the energy was fading out of them. This is what they'd been building up to, and it was going disastrously.

Carialus just wanted to see the game out, and began playing the ball between themselves at the back, to a background of jeers from the home crowd. In what seemed like an organised move, furious home fans hurled flares onto the pitch from both ends of the stadium, prompting a lengthy delay in play as stewards removed the missiles, as well as preventing a small pitch invasion from the North Tribune, the traditional haunt of a wide range of 'ultras' groups. The referee neglected to take the players off the field, but Melody called her team to the sideline, grateful of the impromptu time-out.

Her advice was simple and obvious. They were playing an all-out attack, but in a much more organised fashion than they had previously been doing. Another substitution was made, Samuel Costica making way for the veteran striker Dalča Nurmanov. He hadn't been expected to feature much in qualification, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

The referee was blowing his whistle, ordering the players back into their positions so he could restart play with a drop-ball. The giant screens at either end of the stadium showed that they were perilously close to the end of the 90 minutes, but surely with a couple of injuries, the flares, a pitch invasion, they'd have quite a chunk of added time? The substitutions seemed to galvanise Kinitaria, who were effectively playing with a six- or seven-man attack at this point, and Nurmanov's first act after coming on was to strike the base of the post with a fierce shot. No-one could get to the rebound, though, and Carialus managed to scramble the ball clear.

Image
The fourth official was on his way to the touchline. "There will be a minimum of TWELVE minutes added time. Twelve minutes added time." Now that seemed to give the crowd a boost. Now, they had time to do something about the dire situation they found themselves in. The announcement had barely been made when Navra Kulisev blitzed his way down the middle, through two Carialus challenges, and finished by chipping over the sprawling goalkeeper.

Suddenly, the atmosphere around the Central Stadium was re-energised. A newfound sense of belief was there, and Kinitaria were once more in the ascendancy. They needed one goal to qualify for the World Cup, and a huge chunk of stoppage time to do it in. The blue tide swept forward once more and laid siege to the visitors' goalmouth. Despite having conceded three goals so far, Culpepper was still in fine form, and showed it by making a fantastic one-handed save from substitute Virne Limcič, followed by an acrobatic dive to keep out Milan Beskid's follow-up from very close range. The atmosphere became more and more fevered, like a slow-burning fuse. It just needed something to set it off.

Each chance that passed them by could so easily have been their last. Carialus, despite being almost 100 KPB places below their hosts and left with nothing to play for in the qualifiers, were fighting with a resolute determination to hang onto their slender lead. Kinitaria won a corner. Goalkeeper Kozak wanted to come up for it, but his captain waved him back. There was still too long left. Elkinič swung it in, met by the head of Sala, only for it to crash against the bar with the goalkeeper stranded. Mulkanov got the follow-up, but Schafer came sliding in like a man possessed to deny him the equaliser.

Any other day, they could have had three or four just in those last few minutes alone. Culpepper had probably never played a game like this in his life, but here he was, playing a world-class game just at the worst possible time for Kinitaria. Huge appeals for a penalty when Beskid went over under de Brissa's challenge, but the referee waved away the protests, much to the fury of the home fans. Another appeal, a handball against Schafer, but this one was made more in optimism than anything else.

Another corner. This time, Kozak would come up for it. Elkinič to take again, but it evaded everyone. Theo Arneson recovered possession on the left wing, but Vacarestič came charging in to make the block, and to prevent Carialus taking advantage of the empty net. As Kozak rushed back towards his goal, Halil won possession from the throw and thumped a cross towards the penalty spot. Kulisev rose highest but could only flick it on, straight into the path of Vilo Mulkanov who slammed the ball into the back of the net to light the blue touch-paper. He barely knew what to do with himself, but settled for throwing himself into the jubilant mass of home fans behind the goal. Kinitar fans poured onto the field to celebrate with their heroes, who were getting buried underneath a pile of people, making the appearance of the stewards necessary once again to usher the supporters back into the stand and assume that the match could be restarted, which took them a good couple of minutes.

There wouldn't be another Carialus charge. Kinitaria could have won the game - and the group outright - there and then, but Milan Beskid's shot was acrobatically cleared off the line by Dmitry Ankudinov. They were just so relieved, so delighted, to have got that crucial goal that they were just interested in seeing the game out. Vacarestič did a good job of holding the ball up in the corner, but eventually lost out to Arneson, who cleared the ball upfield for Brown. The flag was up against the Carialus striker, though, and the referee's whistle sounded for offside.

That whistle sparked another premature pitch invasion, this time from a group of fans who had assumed the ref had blown for the end of the game. Frantic announcements were made over the tannoy informing supporters that the game had yet to finish, and frantically urging them to return to their seats. It was the best the stewards could do to hold them back just behind the touchline. Finally, with the game entering its 110th minute, the match official finally blew for the end of the game, the catalyst for thousands of bodies to charge onto the field to celebrate with their heroes, each and every one of them wanting to be a part of history.

They had got that precious, precious point in the most dramatic of circumstances. They had written themselves into Kinitar football folklore for life. One game still to go, and the absolutely massive task of the finals afterwards, but that was, for the moment, irrelevant. For now, the squad could enjoy their newfound status as legends.

Flashback, Part 1
Flashback, Part 2

"Why, Antonio, why...?"

These were the words the Chief Security Officer uttered in the final moments of his life. Seconds later, he ran out of oxygen and died. Meanwhile, some troops of Antonio Arias carried the body of Mazda Senina out of the building. The government troops were just too late. They found the room with blood splatter around, but no body was found in the room.

As troops entered the stadium, the Arias troops started to surround them and shot machine guns at them. This were heard by the exiting fans from the stadium, and the panic to escape quickly brought some deaths due to stampedes that occurred.

Arias troops brought the corpse of Senina into the palace, where a third of the forces were shocked at the scenes, a black car with 2 trucks of Arias troops barged into the palace and swiftly, they started shooting everywhere, killing many government forces. Fortunately, Senina's entire family and other cabinet members were relocated to Isla Nespa for safety. In less than ten minutes, the Palacio de Sangtiano was captured by the forces of Antonio Arias. Arias himself would announce the forming of a new government in the land that was once called as "Sangti"

The new opposition, however, mourning over Senina's loss, would vow to retake the promised land from the hands of Arias.

Sangti, The Royal Barangay

Antonio Arias with some of his cronies, read a resolution that they planned when they were at the basement:

First, and foremost, The land formerly known as Sangti, will be now known as The Royal Barangay. The capital will be renamed from Ciudad Sangti to simply Sangti.

As the new nation takes its shape, the people of this land will now be known as 'Barangayans' and the language is now known as 'Baranggayo'.

The flag of the New Republic is displayed below us:

The coat of arms would be coming real soon.

However, the first reform that we would want to implement is the dissolution of all sports agencies of the former Sangti, and integrate them into the "Konsehong Pampalakasan ng Maharlikang Barangay", which logo is shown here:

Moreover, the operations of the FA Sangti and the BA Sangti will continue until the end of the World Cup 67 cycle and the CEdP II, respectively, when each agency will dissovle into the new KPMB.

More reforms will be placed later.

The new government also announced the renaming of Estadio Ferdinand Marcos to "Stadium Sangti", which will host New Sideburn amidst heavy security following the incident at Estadio Olimpico.

ANOTHER TIE FOR THE HOPS

The Hops seem to be stuck on matching what the opposition does and relatively nothing more. The team traveled to Alexanderburn, scored twice but also allowed the other team to score two as well. This kept the two squads deadlocked on the group table with seventeen points each, although Alexanderburn is ahead since they beat the Hops in their first meeting. The Hops have played well up to this point, notching 23 goals though they have allowed the same amount and sit a 0 GD. Goal scorers for the Hops were Eisa Loostin in the 38’ assisted by Pheir Droimpol and then Pech Schytaing in the 65’ notched an equalizer assisted by Ike Myer. For Alexanderburn Sam Collett notched a free kick goal in the 23’ and Logan Massie in the 48’ put them ahead assited by Torsten Fiedler.

Not a lot changed in Group 13, but The Holy Empire bounced its way into second as Mangolana tied rather than winning, but that tie kept them within two points. So the group still does not have a for sure team sitting in the second qualifying spot and it will come down to the last possible game. The last match day sees United Gordonopia in first place and has the group won. Next is The Holy Empire, currently second in the group, with a bye. Then we have Mangolana in third that plays HopNation on the road. Sitting in the fourth spot we have Krytenia and they play number one United Gordonopia at home. In fifth we have Furellum who is on the road against the last place team Cquactar. Alexanderburn is holding down the sixth place spot and will play the eighth place team Ryzlia away. The matches to watch will be Mangolana vs HopNation and Krytenia vs United Gordonopia, as these two games will decide who ultimately claims the second and final qualifying spot from group 13.

HopNation
The Hops avoided a loss again against Alexanderburn keeping them in seventh. The team is looking for one last home win in an effort to move ahead of Alexanderburn in the overall group standings, as well as impress the home crowd one last time with a major upset on home soil. They will have their work cut out for them as they welcome in Mangolana. The Hops fared well against them last time only losing by one on the road, so they have high hopes for this rematch. Look for the squad to play in the same style they have been and work the ball up the flanks and then penetrate into the middle where space has been created.

Mangolana
Mangolana is poised to qualify, all they have to do is win in HopNation versus the Hops. They are sitting just behind The Holy Empire and with a win will overtake them in the standings as The Holy Empire played their last game already. They will need to stay calm in the madness of Rhizome Arena and all of its noise that gives away teams so much trouble. They will most likely look to dominate the Hops in this final game as they have a lot at stake.

Match Prediction: HopNation 12 Mangolana

The match will be a great match as both teams want to win their last qualification game, one more so than the other as it means they will qualify. HopNation will play well and have the home crowd on it’s feet the entire time, but will come up just short in its quest to win the final home game. With a win Mangolana will enjoy bouncing into the second spot on the table just ahead of those silly Beans from The Holy Empire and be catapulted into World Cup 67.

This will be the last match preview of this 67th World Cup Qualifications, so until our Hops are back in action, Brew on Hoptonians, Brew on!

Many thanks to all who RPed during qualifying. And to those who didn't qualify or make it to the playoffs: I hope to see you around next time!

* - Note: Not actually true, since we've still got the playoffs and then the finals, but you get the idea.

Its Not Just A Football Term Folks

December 24th, by that date the new President would be elected, it was Tamara Van Der Ven that won the election but by a slim margin, she won it 52% to 48% against her Nationalist challenger, Romeo Bellincioni. In the Senate, the United Party managed to nab 52 seats their biggest gain ever. In second place, was the Liberal Party that got 16 seats, third was the Social Democratic Party with 15 seats, fourth, the Presidential election runner up, Nationalist Party with 14 seats and tied for fifth was the Centre Party with 2 seats and the Socialist Party with 1 seat. It was a shocking defeat for the Socialists as they were reluctant on military formation and paid for that dearly as they lost all the support they once had in the some states that were once considered strongholds. While it was clear that the Conservative Party got wiped out they did manage to grab some seats in the House.

In the House of Representatives the Nationalist Party lead the way with 109 seats, then came up the United Party that got 50 seats, in third was the Social Democratic Party with 24 seats, the Liberal Party managed to get a 7 seats, the Greens got 6 seats, and finally the Centre Party and the Conservatives got 2 seats. Somehow with the Socialist Party, did not get not one seat in the House after it's strong rural powerbase was rooted out due to the Nationalist sweep.

Many Socialists demanded a recount of the vote as they were sure that the thought that the Nationalist Party must have used voter intimidation tactics to scare off potential rural voters, although some political analysts claim the key to the Socialist shutout was attributed to heavy losses in the urban vote as the Socialists couldn't get the youth vote and couldn't compete against a attractive United Party. The Socialist Party, the once, powerhouse party of Felix was on the verge of collapse. In the right part of the political field the Conservative Party was on serious life support as their funds slowly trickled down to nothing. The Nationalist Party secretly pledged to assist the crippled party should the Party form a coalition with theirs in House. The Conservatives, out of desperation and political survival, agreed to do it.

The news of a Nationalist sweep might have been bad for Consul Piazza it wasn't all bleak as the Liberal favored United Party candidate won the main election. Another set of good news for Consul Piazza came on the same day, December 24th, as the Felixian Superior Court ruled that indeed Koby was guilty of all the crimes he committed but will not be serving his term in a Felixian jail, instead, the Court ruled that the former football star be sent off to Saintland, a country that borders the Free Republics. Koby will be going to those infamous discipline schools, for reasons of safety for the underage rapist. The Courts said that the boy would die before he would serve his full 20 year term in jail. While the President knew that the Court went against what he said, he decided to go with the ruling to avoid all the legal troubles. He then sent a message to the Consul informing what happened in both the rape case ruling and the elections in Felix.

TO: Venicio Piazza, Consul of the Federation of Free Republics
FROM: Luis Garcia, President of the Federal Republic of Felix
RE: Ruling, Elections

As you may have heard the next President of Felix is indeed going to be the United Party candidate, Mrs. Tamara Van Der Ven. I am thankful that the Felixian people voted her in and indeed it was a close vote for her. I wish you and her the best of luck when you two meet for the first time when that time comes. Now, moving on to the ruling. The Felixian Superior Court has ruled that Mr. Theodore will go to Saintland and pay for his crimes against the rape victim in a Saintland school. While I am against the ruling and I have the power to ask congress to question the ruling, I will not do that. I want this case to finish once and for all. Well this is it. It is December 25th and I will be leaving my office very soon. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Perhaps we can both talk to each other in private without the pressure of politics breathing down our necks. Cheers.

Once that was sent President Luis Garcia had one last thing to do. As a Christmas Present to Mrs. Tamara Van Der Ven, the President made a draft for a special bill it basically set up the ground works for military formation. It was the last thing he did before he left office handing down the title of President to the first woman elected as President of Felix. Luis hid the final draft of the bill in the drawer of the Presidential Desk. It was December 28th, 2011, when Mrs. Tamara Van Der Ven gladly accepted the title of President and gave a rousing speech about the state of Felix and how Felix can improve in all fronts. She even thanked Mr. Garcia for his 5 years of service to the nation. Something the now ex-President, didn't expect. It was now it was time for Luis Garcia to retire from the Political arena permanently as he was quite honestly, sick of it.

5 days after the celebrations of New Year's. Tamara Van Der Ven sat on the chair that was right next to the Presidential Desk. She leaned back and smiled, "I can't believe I have been elected here. This is amazing." She smiled and yawned, it was still early in the morning when she got up the sun hasn't risen yet. Out of curiosity she started to opening the drawers when she discovered this 10 page paper in one of the drawers. She got it and looked at the title, it simply read, The Formation Act. She started to read it and soon smiled when she was done. It was from Luis Garcia, that Liberal man. Despite him publicly saying he wasn't sure about military formation he set up a draft for the bill that could decide Felix's future in the world arena.

Tamara Van Der Ven soon got up from her seat and went to Congress, where she submitted the bill and was soon passed in the Senate, which passed the bill 92 to 8 and passed the House 198 to 2. The bill that formed the first ever Felixian military was set in motion. But Felix would need assistance from abroad to form one, they never fought a war, so how would they know what tanks to get? What planes to fly? What training methods that could be used to train the military? No one knew the answer to any of the questions, at least not in Felix, but they did know one thing for certain, that Felix was going to change forever. Now was it for good? Or for the worse? That, is something to be found out soon enough.

THE END

(It's been a pleasure to RP this story and I am glad I had some outside help to make this RP rock with other nations being part of this, such as the Free Republics, Mizuyuki and The Sarian. I hope I still got a spot in the playoff round to show more details of this thread here but if not, and if I do indeed receive an invite from the current CoH host, I will show it on the CoH thread. Good luck to all the teams that qualified or have a chance to qualify for the World Cup. Cheers.)

At Dazza Dallas Stadium, Princess Katy with Princess Amy and the Jeru FC coach ...

Katy: HELLO, this is Princess Katy for Naked News Jeruselem. I'm at Dazza Dallas Stadium for qualification match day 18. I'm with Jeruselem's Princess Amy, and fellow reporter to boot. Also here is the Jeru FC coach whose team had a bye.
Amy: Hello everyone
Andre: Yes, hello everyone
Katy: Little Amy, you didn't have to be nude for this interview.
Amy: I know, I'm just used to it ya know.
Andre: I tell you, the boys would like be here. Two nude princesses.

Katy: Hicana, Group 1 worst team took on Jeruselem and did what you'd expect and lost to Jeruselem.
Amy: Yes, it's good to have such an opponent last
Andre: Better than getting a bye
Katy: 3-0 doesn't sound like much but it was a win to leave Jeruselem with a chance
Amy: To be far, Hicana didn't really threaten - like the English Ashes team
Katy: The Legalese team had to go to Osarius, they had a much harder game

Amy: Yes, it's not something we'd like either
Katy: Osarius who have already qualified, held Legalese 2-2 so we jumped back into 2nd spot
Amy: Yes, we're in the playoffs! We can now work on next opponent
Katy: Maklohi Vai, we've met them before
Amy: Yes, but we're ready. We want to make the finals.
Katy: Now, Andre Jeru FC had a bye and had sit this one out

Andre: Yes, not ideal for us.
Katy: It was all down to the Darmen vs Antoletia game in Darmen
Andre: Yes, it was the only game that mattered
Katy: Darmen needed to win, and Antoletia itself didn't want to lose
Andre: we didn't want Darmen to win
Katy: Well, they drew 1-1 giving the automatic spot to Antoletia

Andre: And it also meant Jeru FC and Darmen were on 32 points
Katy: And Jeru FC scrapped into the playoff on the back of goal difference
Andre: Yes, means I'm doing my job a little longer.
Katy: We have no doubt you are doing well
Andre: I have push Jeru FC into the finals now
Katy: Jeru FC play Boring Paradise now

Andre: I hope they are boring, and don't beat us
Katy: The Licentian Isles beat Kinitaria 6-3 to steal top spot in Group 12
Amy: Yes, but it didn't matter
Katy: Yes, Kinitaria ended up being the best performing 2nd team and automatically qualified joining 19 other teams
Amy: WELL DONE PONDY
Katy: Yes, she's a Jeruselemite just like us

Amy: All we need is the other Melody to push her team into the finals
Katy: Which happens to be Princess Melody or my sister and her mum
Andre: You girls are doing alright, good luck with the playoffs
Amy: And Qazox made the playoffs we hope they make it
Andre: There seems to be of them round here
Katy: We're proud Qazians! Or part ones

Amy: The playoffs, we're ready.
Andre: I'll make sure we're ready
Katy: Good news today, all round
Amy: Unlike the English Ashes team
Andre: Yes, what it is?
Katy: We'll explain to it to later Andre

A pretty nude blonde and Jeru FC's Dream Lord ...

Anna: This is Anna Beans for Naked News Jeruselem, I'm with Jeru FC's Dream Lord. We're going to do a tour of the Jeru FC facilities
DL: Hi people
Anna: How would you describe this place
DL: Unusual
Anna: In what way?
DL: Well, it looks like an army training facility crossed with a football club

Anna: Firstly, we have this obstacle course there. Something we don't find
DL: Yes, we are army people so you expect one
Anna: what purpose does it serve?
DL: Well, it's for making sure we're fit and strong
Anna: Looks a bit tricky
DL: It's not that hard

Anna: There's a swimming pool here, it wasn't here before
DL: Yes, it's good. It gets really hot round here.
Anna: No one has drowned yet?
DL: Not yet
Anna: We seem to have proper car park
DL: Yes, mainly for staff. Us players don't own cars.

Anna: Apparently it's new
DL: Yes, it was a just dirty patch of sand before
Anna: I guess people complained their cars were getting wrecked
DL: We don't have cars, we got no idea
Anna: The outdoor entertainment area seems decent
DL: Yes, we have great parties here

Anna: Stripper pole though?
DL: In case drunk girls are here
Anna: Like say Princess Katy
DL: She's a load of fun to have around
Anna: Well, it's looking good around here
DL: Yes, amazing what some money does

Anna: Let's move to indoor facilities
DL: Sure babe

...

Anna: This is a very small gym
DL: we don't use it much
Anna: I'm not surprised
DL: None of us look like body builders
Anna: You don't look like football players either
DL: True

Anna: These are very small showers
DL: We need to upgrade that area one day
Anna: Looks rather ancient
DL: It is, reckon they use lead pipes there
Anna: The changing room has rather horrible tiling
DL: It is awful, we need sunglasses

Anna: Bright green, ug
DL: The previous tiles were brown
Anna: That's just as bad
DL: Like the garden ya know
Anna: I'm waiting for trees to grow here
DL: It's pretty grubby at times

Anna: Now, this is grub hut
DL: Yes, all catering is done here
Anna: Looks like school canteen
DL: Actually it is ...
Anna: Looks like someone took it from a school and planted it here
DL: Reckon we got the school canteen cooks too

Anna: Any more to see?
DL: The video room. The coach has his private quarters and office but it's pretty boring.
Anna: We'll take a tour of that with the coach later, but we'll look at the video room
DL: Sure!
Anna: Well, I see you lot watch Naked News
DL: All the time, we love the show

Anna: I see you are fans of our Princesses
DL: When we feel down, we think about our country and our beautiful leaders
Anna: Pervy patriots
DL: I guess we are
Anna: It's all being very interesting
DL: It's not really that special, we could do better

Anna: well, that's Jeru FC's home facility. Nothing flash
DL: we'd like a bigger TV
Anna: You want bigger images of naked women?
DL: Yeah
Anna: Good luck

(OOC: This is an IC way of trying to explain everything about why The Sarian stopped halfway through the tournament - real reason, I was ill at first and then just so busy, see you next WC Cycle. And yes, Lord Pepper is a bit like Lord Sugar, go figure.

John Mackenzie, The Sarian manager (At least for now) stood nervously outside the office, pacing softly, ignoring the waiting chair. His distinctive ginger hair, a rarity in The Sarian, was messy from the constant ruffling it had received in his nerves.

The phone rang, it was a typical office phone, easy to use and even the most simple minded bimbo of a secretary could operate it. Made in the heart of Chippenham Slums. "Lord Pepper will see you now." Lord Pepper, the new Sports Secretary. He was an intimidating man, from the east side of King William City, he was straight talking, worked his way up from selling perishables in a van he brought for 250 Saria, for that currency was still around, aged 17. He then went on to lead a Business Empire which spanned over 900 million Imperias, before becoming Chairman and later hate figure at Marlborough Town. He was made Sports Secretary during the qualifiers.

"Yes, Lord Pepper?"

"Well, do you have an explanation why we were utter shit"

"See, this shows how wrong this country is. Just because you can sell a few pears doesn't mean you know about fucking everything. We were ranked 178th, drawn in the Group of Death, rather ironic I might add as David Fox thought it would be fun to arrest someone in the most violent way possible, you knocked the three players out and I wouldn't be surprised if they were raped themselves. Good thing that no-one spoke to the presses in their nation or ours about that isn't it? After that every single TV network refused to show the football, we were seen as family killers. WE HAVEN'T EVEN GONE TO WAR YET! We just have a shit load of anti-Free Republic propaganda and the Armed Forces recruiting a lot. It is bullshit. It is just sad to thing our first ever World Cup Qualifier will remain undocumented. Ross Horn was one of the players of the tournament. No-one will fucking know that now."

"Look you can do as many excuses as you want, you're fired."

Hornets snatch 6th in the end
Image
In Alianza Albos, Greater Watford gave 1 final push, and came away with 6th place for their efforts. In a game where neither team had much to play for, the initial few minutes started off with much open play, and creativity was high. Mario Mannetti’s killer pass allowed Freddy Lincoln to open the scoring after just 9 minutes. Only 2 minutes later though, and Alianza Albos responded, with Marcelo Bauza breaking past the defence, and lifting the ball over James Hemsworth. After 31 minutes, Greater Watford retook the lead, this time Mario Mannetti sending a ball into the net, after a scrappy goalmouth scramble. In the 35th minute, Ylvin Serven took his turn to get on the scoresheet, chipping Rafael Fuentes, after the latter rushed out too far to try and stop the advancing striker. It was 3-1 to the Hornets at the end of the half.

In the second half, much of the energy of the first half died off, and the game began of fizzle out. However, the 70th minute saw Alejandro Curbelo ambitious shot sneak through the defence, and it caught out an unsighted Hemsworth, setting up a grandstand finish. Any hopes of an Alianza Albos comeback were killed off after 77 minutes, as Milo Gregory headed home from close range. The match finished off 4-2, with both teams left to reflect on their qualifying campaigns.
Image
A good way to finish off qualifying, to snatch that 6th place. With nothing to play for, you can sometimes lose focus, but we played a good game today, and gave it our all. On the pitch, the front line, myself included, performed strongly, and that showed in the 4 goal we scored today. I got yet another goal to add to my tally, and as a new nation, it’s fun to continually break personal and team records.

In reflection of our campaign, while we didn’t do as well as some of us would’ve liked, and in several games we underperformed, I feel 6th place is probably a good position to finish in, considering we’re debutants to the world cup.
