The Spearhead-105 Lightweight Tank was developed by Atok Aerospace as a private venture. It was intended at the export customers. The first prototype was finalized in 2015. The Spearhead-105 was developed to with better strategic and tactical mobility in mind. This light tank is air transportable. It can be airlifted by C-130 Hercules or similar cargo aircraft. The Spearhead-105 is armed with a fully-stabilized 105-mm Low Recoil Force rifled gun. Ammunition is served into the gun by a revolver-style autoloader with an 10-round capacity. The auxiliary weapon is a 7.62-mm M240 machinegun, with a 400-round feed. In addition to the loaded ammunition, 26 105-mm rounds and some 3600 7, 62-mm rounds are stowed inside a container in the back of the hull. The electronics on the Spearhead-105 were among the most cutting-edge in any tank at the time, and included an AAe Farmwarden H3 digital fire control computer, a StarHorizon F200 laser rangefinder, and an AGAS55 thermal imaging system. The Driver utilizes an AN/VVS-2 (V) starlight periscope for low-light visibility. Vehicle is fitted with a FA-Thor A28 diesel engine, developing 535 horsepower. Specification |
