Before I dig into a deeper description I'll note that I'm really mad at myself as I intended to save just before the 30th so I could extend the date and continue this save, but forgot to,and now can't.
Now,to the description:
It is the same save which I already mentioned earlier, with the quite high literacy and the massive battle against the British.
The game was very interesting and also amusing, including when the french stood against me in the fifth world war,and only a few months later tried to support the ottomans, whom I had removed from my sphere to release a few last satellites.
I'll also add that, except for colonies,I always released areas without a German majority as satellites/dominions.
Speaking of which, interestingly enough,Denmark is a German dominion, but Iceland a satellite - any explanation to that?
Afewnice amount of interesting facts:If you see these commonly, then sorry,I didn't,but that's why I put it in a spoiler.
- Multiple of the secondary powers are my dominions/satellites:
- South Africa, which I released after I annexed British south Africa (as provinces, not a state).
- Hyderabad was puppeted by me,and in one of the wars against the British I made them release the Hyderabadi(an?) cores.
- For Australia,I conquered one of the states and released it,then using the liberate country option in an other war against the British.
- Ireland has been gained by me via annexing one state from britain and then making a release,as one of the first non-continental satellites.
- Then, multiple of the major states switched governments a couple times:
- Russia: It started off as the regular absolute monarchy. I think the first revolutions made it constitutional. Sometime there it became the Soviet Union, though when they became that, they consisted of russia and a few japanese and khivan cores,so the term union was quite unfitting here.Regardless, the union was ravaged by rebels.Sometime then the rebels won and created a Bourgeois Dictatorship.
- France: The glorious french collapsed as the first of the major powers into communism. For a long while the French stood as the only (major) communist bastion on earth (they were joined for a while by Haiti, but I doubt Haiti being major). After one of the middle world wars they turned back to a democracy. Then they went first to the Bourgeois Dictatorship and from there directly to the Proletarian Dictatorship and towards the end of the game, back to the bourgeois.
- Britain - of the Nations I fought against, they seemed to be the most stable. That is,until I touched their home Island.
I don't remember for sure if it was after the liberation of Ireland or Scotland, but towards the later game they were couped by communist, for a short time creating the communist Axis between them, the french, and the Russians. After the 5th Great war they were couped by a few Freikorps and turned into the Republic of Britannia, under the rule of the British union of Fascists.Interesting was that the Workers Commonwealth lost much of the commonwealth, including two thirds of the home Islands (Assuming Scotland and Ireland are a third each).- The US - The US did survive it without any major issues or changes, still a democracy, and I didn't notice any coup. They also managed to knock out the CSA quite rapidly.
- Germany did not- I had a few major uprisings, though due to keeping a massive military,I managed to easily win most of them.Except for one communist uprising,in which, interestingly enough, almost all tank brigades in Germany decided that communism is the better path.Almost all tank Brigades, and almost only tank brigades and engineers. For a few good years I actually didn't notice that loss, and it was only when I checked the lack of siege efficiency in a war that I suddenly grasped that rebels could gather up existing brigades.
- Great Powers:
Due to that whole revolting around thing, and the great wars, the great powers over the history were quite diverse. It obviously started out with the regular 8.
But I'll just describe it nation for nation:
- Germany.Since I managed to form Germany I was place one, usually. And lost that position a few times when I was at war and the US wasn't,and the last finite one must've been in the last two months of the game, probably while I was fighting the ottomans.
- The US: They never left the top 4 (once they reached it,assuming they don't start in it),rose to third and second place with french and British decline, respectively, and were my late-game adversary for the first place.
One thing that made me giggle: When they sphere Afghanistan. And By that President something something went into history for creating a chaos by starting to meddle in afghan affairs. They also were my ally for quite a while, including for a few wars against Britain which led to:
A)American Canada. Not really, but America now goes up to lake Huron and over Quebec.
B)For a short time, there was an American occupation of a province or two in Britain. It war really neat to see.- Britain: Even after dethroned they were a close adversary over the early to middle game, until they were toppled by the US of A.
- Russia: once they lost their eastern European provinces, and definitely after they lost Ingria they never recovered back to their old status. For a while they,or the Soviets were secondary powers, but they never rose back again.
- France: The definite loser amongst the ancient great powers.Over multiple crises they lost their Mediterranean access and most of their colonies. They never recovered to third rank, and someday just dropped off.
- Poland: Didn't expect that here? They were,I think, the first nation that was released from Russia. I puppeted them a few years later. Somehow they rose to great power status, which obviously removed them from my sphere and control. So I made war for their southern state, released it as Ruthenia, and later puppeted them. But,for much of the late game they still were a secondary power.
- Columbia: Only for a really short time, when one of the Veteran Powers was ill in or after a war,the Columbians rose to full sovereignty.
- Switzerland: Surprise,Surprise. For much of the early game, when Russia showed weakness, they were the one to take their place. They didn't have any sphere (as far as I'm aware) and didn't even seem to try to get one.But for a while, the Swiss had their golden age.
- Netherlands: One of the Original Great powers,I think? They first lost their place to Belgium, and them were a longtime secondary power, probably the most stable of them all.
- China: Once they were modernized they ravaged the ranks, reconquering their ancient sub-states one by one. They too were German allies for a while.
- Japan: Once they modernized, they too were quite stable in the ranks of the great and powerful.
- Brazil: Yes,they too were a great power.Even twice, the last time lasting until shortly before the end of the game,as is evident by them being the highest secondary power.
- Spain: For a short time, the Spanish re-experienced their golden age of being feared around the globe.
- Sweden: Yep.The Swedish twice detached themselves from the German sphere into glory. both ended by brutal defeats from Russia,I'll note.
- Yeah,I think those were all.
- Canada:
It never was released by anybody.I released Newfoundland once, the american and the swedish for a while annexed its central-northern parts, but it was never formed.- Canals:
I formed the Kiel-Canal once I could.I tried to form both other canals, but so did other great powers, which resulted in until the late 18.... 80's? neither Colombia nore Egypt being sphered due to everybody including myself trying to topple them.Sometime then the British built the Panama and the French the Suez Canal, both via sphere,as they only had the respective canal provinces.I used past tense as I grabbed both of them sometime through history.- Anything else?
Don't think so.If there is,feel free to ask.- [EDIT] Another thing interesting is that I liberated Israel. But that damn Israel was reluctant to not build any troops.Instead,OPM Krakow had a Brigade or two in demobilized state, and a few more at wartime.
- Also, another interesting is that, after colonizing and conquering I managed to create an African colony which occupied more or less its whole center and the Sahara.I could only release it as one damn dominion, loosing more or less all my colonies.[/EDIT]
Christ, I can never make it past 1905 without giving up in frustration. Keeping an absolute monarchy is incredibly difficult, even more so with a reactionary party. I once got German Empire to about 1903 before constant uprisings made me just give up. Spain I also got to about 1900 with Mexico, Haiti, and the USCE annexed. heh. But, I overextended my empire, and I didn't have enough boats to get my soldiers to run around and constantly put down the uprisings. Anarcho liberals literally never lost control of Haiti from about 1870 until I stopped playing it. Did I mention I let the Carlists win?
But really, how often does Britain switch gov'ts? I hardly ever see them change.

Generally, it fixes a bunch of things Paradox messed up on, makes the game more historically plausible, and makes the economy much more realistic and functional. May I also add, PDM adds a fuckload of FUN to the game.

The Polkarios of Amalfi were the first crusaders. At some point, one of them managed to become a Cardinal. Then things got weird.
Their dutiful vassals in the Musco family were causing problems - specifically disrupting trade routes. Bastard patrician. But the Musco also, quite bizarrely, had one member as the Pope. He had four sons, all with his former wife. And yet, he was a Pope. And while Pope, I killed literally his entire family. Including his four sons - the eldest only 15. The Pope then called a Crusade for Jerusalem. The same Pope who (I cannot stress this enough) had four sons, all of which I personally killed, then called for a crusade for Jerusalem. I load up my armies, waste my money on mercs, and storm Jerusalem. I win. Jerusalem was mine.
But the Pope, who's sons I murdered in cold blood crowned me King of Jerusalem. Only to have "Game Over" due to Jerusalem for some reason counting as a Republic instead of a merchant Republic.
I was pretty impressed with how bizarre the end got.
This.. sounds great! I made a relative of mine Patriarch of Rome and I am pretty sure he had sons... Sucks for the end though. Don't you have an other family member ruling outside of your realm or something like that?
Also, is the Polkarios family the default Amalfi rulers? Cause Polkarios is (99% sure) a Greek name. Then again, a Greek state in S.Italy at the time wouldn't be that weird. But it ain't like all in-game dynasties are accurate.
