If we're using technology that is equivalent of 10th century Europe, I assume that the only armour types available are: brigindines, gambesons, hauberks (short-sleeved mail shirts), byrnies (long-sleeved mail shirts), and of course, boiled leather. Things like coat of plates and heavy plate armour didn't really appear untill the 13th century, IIRC.

Not sure about the navigating thing now that I hear someone say it. I feel like that might be an exception being that the OP has noted in the opening post that there is contact with another continent, enough that the religion from it (Darkness) is spreading into Evarri. To me this notes there is frequent contact and possible on going trade, what I'vd based my house on. This is something that may need OP clarification.

Hey, I wanted to bring up an issue. There is no set limit for army sizes. I think we all need to reach a consensus on peacetime army numbers and wartime army numbers. I've seen a House, not naming names, with like 200,000 total pop with an army with 100,000 men. That's very unrealistic that a medieval state could draft 50% of its population into the army.

What percentage do you guys think we should have? I say 20% in war time. In peacetime it should be 10% or lower.

Under gameplay rules I will make it clear that wartime is 15%, and peacetime is anything below 7%. This will change as populations grow.

I don't think it's bad. When you accept someone in a major position, you should probably trust them enough to do a bit of co-oping.

You can work with that, if you really don't have time for the workload. Given you'll probably be done with major Houses today, that will leave you with nothing to do very rapidly. You can, in theory, allow RPer self-policing though; Houses Major have a vested interest in insuring each others' Houses Minor are fairly balanced and created. I tend to maintain a fairly authoritarian hand on my own RPs, but I do tend to have a surfeit of free time.

That sounds like a good plan, to ensure everything is appropriately logged and tracked. The only downfalls of a self-policing system tend to come when the selves don't bother to police.
