Luziyca wrote:As Kingsley Bedford says, URL links to host bids do NOT count. While I can read it, realize that some users may not be able to read it, or have access to images at work by url. Some may have filters that prevent access of flickr. Thus, I request resizing of the picture and reduce it to 25%: 322x677px, because it is really the only way you could get it onto the forums.

Or you could be civilized like the rest of us or split it into multiple sections or switch to a regular hostbid. The latter (with the exception of Vamp's) is way better anyways, and less of a hassle too.

No its not, quit the whining, loosen the rules a bit.

People also shouldn't have stupid filters.
but to please you i will do whatever you want, but remember this: The regular hostbids are more of a hassle then the pictured ones.
This is also the fault of Nationstates Forum, 900x 900x is to small to work with these days, web design and graphic designs are changing: People will have larger screens. People will have adequate internet speed to load these pictures, but if site owners do not want to evolve, than that's a serious problem.
What also ignores me is the fact that I can post my nations map in my factbook; no problem at all and it works, but on the forums you cant, that is blatancy weird and upright wrong.

but again, i will do whatever you want but i wont do a text based submission, i taught creativity was important here. but it seems it doesn't.

First, I am not whining. Neither is Kingsley Bedford.

Secondly, as much as you and I oppose them, they exist. Thirdly, text bids take a while to work with, as my Kofeiyan host bid took a few hours to get it completed (some of it was adding the cool graphics using a Eurovision logo-style font), but pictoral bids are more of a hassle because you got to put it within the limits of the forums. More on that later. Fourthly, I agree, but the problem is that on smaller computers (I have a Sony VAIO, some may be on a phone, or on a tiny laptop), a large picture can simply take up a huge chunk of space, which to the viewer on those, is not exactly a good thing. Also, there are still some people on NS who use dial-up, like a mod, Trans.
Also, if you make a factbook on the forums, you CAN put your nation's map, you just don't start a thread collecting maps of nations, because what many would do instead of LINKING to the maps, will be to use the [img] tags.

Lastly, creativity is STILL important. I cannot stress it enough. While pictorial bids may have taken a while, you can ask Vampirum on how to reduce the size of the bid, but still make it work. Vamp used a format like yours, except he got his to fit and not having to post a URL.

BAD OMEN?

Image

Yesterday evening was so surprising for the Atlammes. The ticket for Worldvision 29 was taken by Zuzanne Kazakhstansky. Her song is called "Omen" and it had been sung in English during yesterday show. However, the writer of the winning entry is planning to prepare the Atlammish version for the contest and the Atlammish entry will probably be performed in two languages.

NUDITY IN THE WORLDVISION?

Image

Easy! There won't be any nudity in the Worldvision. "Nago" ("Crudely") is just the name of the internal choice of BGCRTV for the 29 edition of the contest. The song will be performed by famous Rionegrin artist - Dziewanna (actually: Anna Maria Cebulak). Her pseudonim refers to the pra-Slavic goddess of nature and life. She will perform the song during the contest featuring Folkandish folk band LaGa known for their debut in NationStates' X-Factor 4.

Just to let you know for bid: I'll split the stage off to its own section and try and find a larger version of that image of the stage.

No I don't think anyone has used Horehronie.

1. Hafamarimët used it once. The song was called "an uphill battle" or something like that, but if Hafamari... something like "Mucek ibrem ypydma".
And it was in WV19, if I'm not mistaken.

EDIT: I'm not mistaken.. http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?p=7020219#p7020219

2. On the other hand, CQ... Thanks to you it's the first time I've seen three songs to the same tune. Puerto Candelaria and Costa Fiero also used that tune. (Nothing bad with it, though... Just pointing it out)

3. I'm just tagging the thread. I don't think I'll participate this time either...... This college life is killing me... Not only because it's college, but also because some teachers speak THE weirdest Catalan; and the "basics" you need to understand the topics were not taught to me back there in Colombia. AAAAND social life is terrible..... Since I don't speak fluent Catalan yet, many just ignore me -.-

4. If Euski participates though... I was thinking I could introduce you to the music scene of our non-Euskal speaking provinces. What do you think about music from....

The Kastelàm Province or The Tal-Arabak Province... Or The Aranes Province

Which one of the three sounds better?

Trying to perfect my bid, yet making it as realistic as I could for an upper-middle income country, that is an expy of sub-Saharan Africa without the problems and Liberia without the war.

I think I'm not going to get any higher, to be frank, and if I did win, I'd be amazed.

In that case, I -might- look for a different tune. Has anyone used She Wolf in the past? If I do decide on a melody change, I'm thinking about using that or this (OneRepublic - Counting Stars).

No I don't think "She Wolf" has been used. Go for it. It'll get points from KB for sure.

*your

Some noticeable grammar mistakes in the full bid post(and this is from a guy whose grammar is not perfect and makes mistakes ever so often), content is good but not among the best I've seen in WV bids.

The judges have decided! It's now down to three contestants. All three with amazing songs in their own right, but which one will represent Vampirum at WV29? You decide!

As a reminder, here's a bit of info about our three contestants.

Image
Cosmos is an alternative rock band from Urion, Dennsalvania. Their smooth yet edgy sound makes them a unique band that stands a possible chance of doing well at WorldVision.

Their new hit 'Near You' is currently number 5 on the Vampirum Music Billboard Charts.

Image
Kaley is a newcomer to the music industry. She began her career only a year ago, and since then she's been dubbed the 'Duchess of Vampirum pop'. Kaley is known for her fun and enthusiastic ballads that are a hit among teenage girls.

Her song 'Lights' is currently number 2 on the Vampirum Music Billboard Charts.

Image
Many will remember Erin O'Shea from her presentation of the Vampirian votes in WV28. She's a soulful singer who's rich vocal tones has earned her numerous music awards. In 2012 Erin won her first Movie Golden Award for her song 'Crystal Blu' off the Blood Never Rests soundtrack.

Her song 'Thunder' is currently number 9 on the Vampirum Music Billboard Charts.

So who will it be? We have three very different artist with three very good songs. Either way, we're sure Vampirum will do well at WorldVision this year.

TO VOTE: Please TG Vampirum with your votes. Give 3 to your favorite, 2 to your second favorite, and 1 to your least favorite. The video with the featured songs can be found HERE.
